Yes Biscuits that's correct. They'd be able to scan on the labour ward using one of those low tech, low res scanners just to see where the head is. I'm slightly panicked about getting there quick enough, it's not like I can just drop everything and get there immediately, I've got a 3 year old to sort out first as you know. I'm a bit annoyed because I'd have happily accepted a quick, rubbishy scan just to see where the head is yesterday, so we can make plans one way or the other. When the MW started banging on about the risk of cord prolapse again I was thinking "oh great so I need to get on the floor, call an ambulance, ring around asking for someone to come and look after DS all at the same time"
Whereas a quick scan would have just enabled them to say "no the baby's head down, panic over" or "yes it's breech, let's get you in for a CS".
I'm trying not to get too worked up about it. DH is using the last day of his holiday tomorrow because of it, so it really is only the rest of today that could be a problem and so far there's no sign of anything happening. We'll know one way or the other on Friday. Everything will either be fine, I'll have a sweep and then be sent on my way to wait (next Weds is induction day if nothing happens before) or it'll be breech and they'll do a CS probably Friday afternoon.
I'm on pins here waiting for Scream's update
