Just to bring the mood down, I can't stop being sick. It's so bad it's coming out through my nose too! My nose and throat are really sore now :(

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 25/04/2012 11:09

Come on, come on, babyScream!

Stupid me and DH didn't realise the heating oil was running low (even though I looked in the tank on Sun Blush) so the bloody heating has gone off and won't be back on until oil can be delivered. Grr! I have been channeling my inner Victorian housemaid and lighting a fire. So far it's still going and the temperature in the living room has come up a whole .5 of a degree. Bloody dog has just managed to open the door to the hall and let a draught in.

ScrambledSmegs · 25/04/2012 11:38

jen me too :( How many weeks are you? Has your doctor offered you anything to help? Mine offered me a prescription yesterday and I foolishly said no as I thought I was doing ok. Then I had a barf-fest from 3pm till 11pm. That was nice.

I'm 6+5, been sick since 3+1 (so, implantation really!) and wondering when it will stop already.

jenfraggle · 25/04/2012 11:40

I'm 36 + 3. Dr won't do anything, when I had my morning sickness it was all day, every day for 9 weeks and they refused to give me anything. I saw both the Drs at the surgery and they both said the same thing.

ScrambledSmegs · 25/04/2012 11:51

Shock that's awful! FGS go to the hospital and get your ketones checked, you need drugs and they're being daft denying you them!

Hyperemesis is very serious and if you're not keeping anything down it's a serious health concern for you and the baby. I swear some doctors are completely blinkered when it comes to pregnancy.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 25/04/2012 12:08

Shock jen I hope it calms down soon. I second smegs's suggestion if it's severe - third opinion!

scarletfingernail · 25/04/2012 12:19

Come on Scream we're getting impatient here!

jen do you think you've caught a bug? Hope you start feeling better soon.

Good to hear from you Scrambled, looking forward to seeing more of you over here when you feel ready.

scarletfingernail · 25/04/2012 12:45

Lots of tightenings here too today musical, but so far nothing else. I know it's normal for people to go past their due date, but I can't believe I've gone past when I had DS. 40+5 today and feeling it.

Your LO might not have disengaged a bit. Don't forget it's growing bigger all the time, so while the bottom might feel a bit higher it might be because the baby's grown taller if that makes sense?

Biscuitsandtea · 25/04/2012 13:00

Scarlet broiling for you to that that cheeky baby of yours turns round, or even better (and it's rare that I'd be saying this) that your mw is mistaken and your wee one is head down planning his escape as I write.

So Scarlet if you go into labour do you have to whizz in and be scanned? I understand that they can't fit you in for a scan until Friday, but if they would do it if you were in labour, surely they could do it sooner? HmmConfused

scarletfingernail · 25/04/2012 13:30

Yes Biscuits that's correct. They'd be able to scan on the labour ward using one of those low tech, low res scanners just to see where the head is. I'm slightly panicked about getting there quick enough, it's not like I can just drop everything and get there immediately, I've got a 3 year old to sort out first as you know. I'm a bit annoyed because I'd have happily accepted a quick, rubbishy scan just to see where the head is yesterday, so we can make plans one way or the other. When the MW started banging on about the risk of cord prolapse again I was thinking "oh great so I need to get on the floor, call an ambulance, ring around asking for someone to come and look after DS all at the same time" Hmm Whereas a quick scan would have just enabled them to say "no the baby's head down, panic over" or "yes it's breech, let's get you in for a CS".

I'm trying not to get too worked up about it. DH is using the last day of his holiday tomorrow because of it, so it really is only the rest of today that could be a problem and so far there's no sign of anything happening. We'll know one way or the other on Friday. Everything will either be fine, I'll have a sweep and then be sent on my way to wait (next Weds is induction day if nothing happens before) or it'll be breech and they'll do a CS probably Friday afternoon.

I'm on pins here waiting for Scream's update Grin

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 25/04/2012 13:32

Sorry, haven't had a chance to read the thread. Just wanted to say Autumn Serena is finally here! 8lbs 5oz. She's been feeding like a good 'un! (Although it stings loads so I need to get the latch sorted asap!)

She looks just like her Dad so far - fair skinned with auburn-looking hair. She also has blue eyes. I'm sure at least some of that will change though, considering I'm black and she definitely came out of me!

Thanks for all the No Brooking, I can't tell you how much it helped!

jenfraggle · 25/04/2012 13:34

Congratulations Scream and welcome to Autumn

scarletfingernail · 25/04/2012 13:41

Awww Congratulations Scream and MrScream and welcome to baby Autumn Thanks. I'm delighted for you xx

GenericDietCola · 25/04/2012 13:45

Congratulations Scream - what marvellous news! I love the name and she sounds beautiful.

I'll be brooking for you now Scarlet and especially that your LO is the right way round for a safe and easy sneeze birth!

Hope to join you all soon, but still trying at the moment (feels like it's taking ages).

musicalmrs · 25/04/2012 13:49

Congratulations Scream - beautiful name! Enjoy your first newborn snuggles - I'm rather jealous :) Hope it all went wonderfully and that your family give you some time to bond with Autumn without overwhelming you!

Scarlet, that's a good point about growing! From the heaviness (and then lack of it) I get the feeling it might be engaging and disengaging quite a bit? Seeing the MW on Friday morning so I'll know more then. Don't know if early/late births are related to family at all? I think I was born a little early but my brother on time - so who knows!

How annoying they couldn't have gotten you a scan sooner :( Brooking that the mw was wrong..!

Generic, we look forward to you joining us in the near future :) You're looking positively updiffed!

scarletfingernail · 25/04/2012 13:50

Hi Generic I really hope you will be over here soon. I've not been able to keep up with the other thread for a while so I don't know what's been happening with you, but I hope you're ok. I'm brooking for you (and all the others of course).

GreenOlives · 25/04/2012 13:51

Yay! Congratulations to the Scream family Thanks Beautiful name too!

Like Generic I too hope to be joining you ladies soon!

GenericDietCola · 25/04/2012 13:52

Olives we'll be here legitimately soon!

ScrambledSmegs · 25/04/2012 13:55

Congratulations Scream! Lovely name, she sounds absolutely beautiful. Thanks

musicalmrs Yes, I know I've been posting a little more today, but sadly I'm back to lurking for a while. As someone who previously had a miscarriage and some very bad news re: fertility, I can't bring myself to believe good things are happening to me quite yet!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 25/04/2012 14:02

Yay Scream and baby Autumn! Thanks Grin Hurray for a great weight and feeding going already. Yippee!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 25/04/2012 14:11
