Yay yay yay Scream GrinGrin

[Thanks][Thanks][Thanks][Thanks][Thanks]

Gorgeous name, great weight and may I just add - congratulations on getting through that pregnancy! I guess it's too early to tell yet (?) but I am looking forward to hearing that you are feeling more mobile. I don't know joe you've got through these months - you're an inspiration Smile

pommedechocolat · 25/04/2012 16:13
Thanks

Congratulations Scream and hello baby Autumn (gorgeous, gorgeous name)!!!!

And the boy, girl pattern has been restored. Now up to scarlet to keep it going or break it again!!

Wants3 · 25/04/2012 16:34

Congratulations scream lovely name, good weight! Enjoy your snuggles.

TheLittleFriend · 25/04/2012 19:27

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 26/04/2012 07:21

Thanks everyone! All of your messages are so kind. I have discovered that either I have a huge case of PFB, or alternatively Autumn is actually the cutest baby who ever existed!!! Grin Really not sure which... Wink

So tired and achy now, but the newborn snuggles are amazing!

Scarlet how are you feeling? Sorry to queue jump! I'm still No Brooking that your LO will wiggle back to head down and your swift and easy sneeze birth will kick off!

Also how are Wants and Musical? Can't wait for the next set of No Brookers to appear! Autumn has been wonderfully peaceful since she arrived. I can hear all the babies in other rooms screaming away, but Autumn has barely cried. Clearly she's a No Brooker through-and-through (and it has nothing to do with it being her first night!)

musicalmrs · 26/04/2012 08:37

Scream, so glad you're having such a wonderful time with Autumn, that feeding's going well and the snuggles are fabulous! How's the SPD now? Have you noticed an instant (or nearly instant!) difference?

Scarlet, how are you doing today? Any signs that something may happen today or are we waiting until the appointment tomorrow?

Scrambled, I completely understand. However, you're a brooker, so everything will be wonderful from here onwards :) I was posting both on the conception and antenatal threads when I had lots of bleeding problems in early PG, and both were instrumental in me surviving without going insane :)

Dream, clearly there are no links then!

All's going well here thanks Scream. Getting lots of signs that my body's gearing up (namely LOTS of BHs, period pain, random other pain..), but I don't think it's imminent yet. The best week for the LO to come would be week 39, as of the evening of the 5th May when we'll be all happily moved in :P Though DH thinks it would be rather amusing if it put in an appearance before our annoying friends on Facebook who are posting countdowns Hmm...

Think my skin's had enough, the top of my bump is becoming so painful. Seeing the MW tomorrow so will see what advice she has, other than slathering it with as much moisturiser as possible.

We get our keys to the new place tomorrow! Grin So unless the LO puts in an appearance today/tomorrow (unlikely) it's not allowed to show itself for a couple of days while we clean and have bits and bobs delivered. Not moving in until the weekend after though. Very excited -even if it does mean spending most of my day today packing! I might also tackle All The Wires today - does anyone else have random cables for electronic things in every set of drawers in their house?! Hmm

scarletfingernail · 26/04/2012 10:16

Scream I'm so pleased to hear that it's all going so well for you. I hope you managed to get some sleep last night and you're already starting to feel a little better physically? BTW you're entitled to be as PFB as you like Smile, but Autumn really does sound adorable.

Still lots of BH's here but nothing more. I feel really guilty for typing what I'm about to type but...I'm starting to feel a bit down now. I'm finding that I'm constantly worrying about something bad happening to the baby before it's born. I think it's because I know I could have had it 3 weeks ago and likely all would have been ok. At 40+6 this is new territory for me. Now I can't help thinking that it's in there unecessarily and I just want it out, to see it and hold it and know that it's ok. I'm trying to snap myself out of it and keep busy but I'm finding it so hard when my hips, pelvis, thighs and fanjo are constantly hurting.

Musical your moving date seems to have come round very quickly. I hope the move goes to plan, you never know it might even set labour off. It wouldn't surprise me if it did and if you, Wants and jen all give birth before I do!

jaggythistle · 26/04/2012 10:25

at last someone's fixed the mobile site so i can congratulate scream! been struggling with tiny text and pages not loading since yesterday.

glad you and wee Autumn are doing so well. :) :)

going to try and catch up on several pages worth now, I've had no mumsnet all night. Shock

Wants3 · 26/04/2012 10:40

Essay is finished!!! I am going to hand it in shortly and then I can enjoy my last day at work ( once I get the last few staff appraisals done!) 37 weeks today so I am happy for baby to come anytime now! I am sure babyscarlet will be making an appearance very soon.
Exciting news about moving musical

musicalmrs · 26/04/2012 10:48

Scarlet, thanks for the good move vibes :) This weekend is quite stress free - buying essentials like curtains, moving things we won't need for the next week like books, instruments etc (basically so we can pay the movers less!), waiting in for furniture etc. Next weekend is the big event - and I'd be quite happy if we moved everything in and then I went into labour! Or if I did after this weekend - as long as it doesn't try to appear in the middle...

I can completely understand you feeling down :( I've had moments of feeling down after something that's seemed like signs of labour, even though I know that realistically I likely have ages to wait - so can understand how you can be feeling like that - especially when in pain :( Not long til your scan tomorrow though, when you can be reassured that everything's ok, and hopefully they'll put a plan into action for you.

Jaggy, I wouldn't survive without MN for a night! Shock It keeps me going during the vast periods I seem to spend awake every night - so can't imagine doing the night feeds without it!

Wants, congratulations on finishing the essay! Grin Hope your last day at work goes well :)

farfallarocks · 26/04/2012 13:03

Huge congrats to scream!!!!

Just to let you know all was well at the scan today, low risk of downs and the little bean was wriggling around like mad. Grinning from ear to ear and can;t quite believe it :)

Biscuitsandtea · 26/04/2012 13:13

Grin Far Grin

[Thanks] very pleased for you Thanks

musicalmrs · 26/04/2012 13:13

Far, that's brilliant news! :)

DreamingOfPeace · 26/04/2012 13:29

Yay far, how wonderful!

scarlet, I can totally empathise, it is so unlikely anything will go wrong, its just the awfulness of waiting..

pommedechocolat · 26/04/2012 13:55

Yay far!! Great news:)

scarletfingernail · 26/04/2012 13:55

Fantastic news far Smile

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 26/04/2012 14:02

Big congrats to Farfalla on an excellent scan!

Also, woohoo for Musical moving soon! Very exciting! No Brooking for a smooth move and perfectly timed sneeze birth!

Big hugs to Scarlet it WILL happen very soon! Hope your appt tomorrow confirms your LO is back to head down!

Sorry I'm still on my mobile and can't remember who else I wanted to respond to.

I've been asked on the other thread for a birth story, but everyone else has put their birth stories in this thread rather than the post grad one. Is it okay if I do the same?

So, I came in for my elcs and everything went smoothly as they checked me in and carried out their tests (incl last min scan to double check the location of my fibroids). We were allocated the second slot of the day, which was both a relief AND terrifying simultaneously!

When we got into theatre I had a sudden meltdown over the thought of the spinal (Blush) and started quietly crying/hyperventilating while lying on the table. DH was an absolute star, he held my hand really tightly, reminded me of why we were there, and got me to do the slow breathing from my natal hypnotherapy CD by demonstrating the breaths for me to follow. To all the theatre staff it must have looked like I was in the middle of a vb with all the heavy coached breathing! I literally couldn't have done it without DH though. Once he calmed me down the spinal itself was fine! Blush

I think the spinal gave me low blood pressure initially, before the anesthetist gave me something to compensate. So at first I was totally spaced out! It was like being on mushrooms! Luckily I came back to earth just in time to see Autumn arrive!

She was a chilled out No Brooker from the start - one initial cry of indignation at being yanked out, and then nothing else. She didn't even cry at her vit K injection (which means she handled her injection better than I handled mine! Blush)

All in all it went perfectly, no complications, v little bleeding at all, and v little pain. 24 hours on I'm achy and tender but I've been up and about. So far so good!

Still can't believe I have a fair-skinned red-haired blue-eyed DD! She's already the centre of my universe though.

farfallarocks · 26/04/2012 14:08

Ooohh she sounds lovely scream and another no brooker to join our ranks :)

jaggythistle · 26/04/2012 14:44

yay far! :)

Loopyhasanotherbean · 26/04/2012 16:12

firstly, congratulations to scream on the arrival of Autumn, and to far for a perfect scan.

now, i need a winge....just got back from my physio appt and fed up. last time i went there, they just gave me a tubigrip to wear and told me to go back for them to see if pelvis misaligned and other things that would be hands on stuff. So i booked the appt for when they said, and that was today. Only to be told that i am now too pregnant for them to do anything as it could bring on early labour if they do. so the only other thing they could do is give me a support belt to wear as well as the tubigrip. They told me that as well as having spd in last pregnancy and this one too, i have had coccydynia ever since first pregnancy and that it can take a couple of years for it to go of its own accord, but that sometimes it just doesn't go, and they've said i should go back 3 months after this baby to see if they can manipulate bits of me back to where they should be. Now wondering if i am completely nuts in contemplating having DC's 3 and 4 after this one...

to end on a hopefully positive note, we have our 20 week scan tomorrow, so hoping that everything is ok, and that we can find out what we are having!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 26/04/2012 16:33

Oh gosh loopy SPD at 20 weeks? Shock what a nightmare! Good luck at the scan, so exciting! :)

scream that sounds like a lovely birth indeed. I would also have a meltdown at the thought of a spinal Shock and I'm determined not to have one with a VB!

Wants3 · 26/04/2012 17:51

I think my body can sense that I am finishing work tomorrow. I have been having loads of strong bhs accompanied by low down stabby pains. Feeling really tired today. My collegue reckons I won't get any maternity leave because baby will arrive sat morning!
I need to rough out some sort of birth plan as I should be discussing it with the midwife tomorrow morning!

scarletfingernail · 26/04/2012 23:15

Eeek I'm having a lot of pains this evening, low down and feeling like something might actually be happening. Maybe I'm making a mistake posting about it as I've probably now jinxed it and it will come to nothing. I'm in bed but don't think I'm going to get much sleep. I've got period type back ache and low down bump cramps. Wish I could remember what early labour feels like, it's the last horrifc few hours which is etched on my memory.

Wants exciting stuff, you might well beat me to it! Although I've been getting those fanjo stabby pains for the last couple of weeks and was told that it means the head is engaging further. Which is a good thing in my case as it makes me think my midwife has it wrong about my baby being breech.

Brooking for you Loopy that you have a great scan. I hope you get to find out if boy or girl.

If this isn't labour starting I'll be at my hospital appointment first thing in the morning but I'll update as soon as I can.

musicalmrs · 27/04/2012 01:47

Brooking that you have a great scan today Loopy!

Wants sounds exciting, you'll probably beat me to it..!

Scarlet, how exciting! Hope it's the start of something, and that things have progressed by now... and if not brooking that all goes well at the hospital. Will be keeping an eye out for updates either way!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 27/04/2012 02:01

Oooooo good luck Scarlet! Sending lots of No Brooking your way for a head down baby and super easy sneeze birth tonight! Will be waiting anxiously for updates!

Lots of No Brooking for Wants and Musical as well. Sounds promising ladies!
