Myth, hurrah! Hope all's going well - brooking for you! :)

Menconium, congratulations - and a lovely name too! :) So pleased to hear from you!

So pleased to hear Myth's news - really picked me up from my almost-due-date-but-no-baby-yet blues (which I have no right to have considering how long some of you have had to wait, including Myth!).

Will be checking back all afternoon for news! Grin

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 12/05/2012 14:17

Woohoo! Go Myth! 6 cm is excellent work, you'll have a gorgeous newborn in no time!

Biscuitsandtea · 12/05/2012 14:46

musicalmrs · 12/05/2012 14:50

Biscuits, you'd give Imps a run for her money!

Biscuitsandtea · 12/05/2012 14:59

Imps is my inspiration musical Grin

jaggythistle · 12/05/2012 15:17

go myth!!

musicalmrs · 12/05/2012 15:31

It shows Biscuits Grin

I have an ill DH. He is supposed to be playing hide the sausage with me in an attempt to get things moving Blush. Ah well, onto the pineapple...

Wants3 · 12/05/2012 17:17

musical hide the sausage is overrated! Did nothing for me as in no baby today :) I don't like pineapple so am running out of options!
Congrats meconium great name, we are still thinking of using it as MN.
Go myth things are finally moving!

NinjaChipmunk · 12/05/2012 18:48

well I have done my good deed for the day and taken ds to a birthday party. It was quite good but at 2 & 1/2 hours it went on waayy too long! He seems much better today, he slept till 10am this morning Shock and hasn't had a temp since. Right must start making a food shopping list, the excitement never ends here!
Someone better have a baby soon........!

I'd love to oblige Ninja but my body has other ideas

musicalmrs · 12/05/2012 19:17

Wants, I've heard that hide the sausage - alongside so many of these other things - doesn't have much effect unless the body's more or less ready, then just pushes you along! So clearly mine isn't either, as otherwise I would have bounced this baby out already Grin.

Hoping Myth may have had her snuggly newborn by now :)

Lots of pain, twinges, and painful BH (contractions?) here. Trying not to get my hopes up that the LO could be preparing to arrive on his/her due date (tomorrow!).

DreamingOfPeace · 12/05/2012 19:25

Eeek, 6cm, go myth!

Lovely news meconium, I also love the name Theo.

Good effort ninja. What does constitute a 'good' party at that age?

Dreamy twins trying to break dh and I with total sleep deprivation and lots of screaming. Dh not enjoying it at all which is sad but it is a real slog on minimal sleep for me and far less than keeps him good tempered for dh atm...

jenfraggle · 12/05/2012 19:26

Sounds exciting Musical!

DreamingOfPeace · 12/05/2012 19:26

Oooh, musical how exciting- I hope!

jenfraggle · 12/05/2012 19:34

I was thinking about you the other day Dream. There was a thread about funny things heard over the baby monitor and somebody who had twins heard one of them change the other's nappy.

NinjaChipmunk · 12/05/2012 22:32

dream so sorry to hear the boys don't want to sleep for you. I wish I had some words of wisdom that could help. Are they reflux-y or colicy or just generally being pesky? I do hope someone somewhere on MN can offer some advice. They are rather lovely though in your pics and you are still an awesome mum of 3 very young children.
Ooh musical maybe you are up next? Now you've moved in and all that, your bean might have decided the time has come?
I wonder how myth is getting on?

Baby Isabel Helen was born 12/05/12 at 21:25 weighing 8 lbs 7oz. Squeezed out naturally in 22 minutes after a failed epidural. Midwives impressed with my angry face & speed lol!
She is gorgeous and soft and I can't stop gazing at her

musicalmrs · 13/05/2012 02:21

Congratulations Myth! You must be so happy and relieved she's finally here! Lovely name too- one on our shortlist!

Enjoy your snuggles :-)

scarletfingernail · 13/05/2012 03:09

Congratulations myth and well done!

musicalmrs · 13/05/2012 03:12

...no news here. Ninja, that would be nice! :)

Contractions or painful BHs (as a FTM it's hard to know which is which?) since yesterday afternoon. Awake most of the night so far, and have just consumed a rather hefty amount of chocolate! Confused

MIL and SIL due to visit at lunchtime. Really don't want them here...

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 13/05/2012 03:25

Well done Myth! Gorgeous name, I love that spelling of it as well! Enjoy your well- earned newborn snuggles.

Congratulations! See you on the night shift!

Biscuitsandtea · 13/05/2012 03:50

Yay! Congratulations Myth ThanksThanksThanks

Gorgeous name (again, on our shortlist if ds had been a dd) and I also like that spelling of it too.

See you on the night shift soon xxx

Biscuitsandtea · 13/05/2012 06:53

Can I just ask a question about slings? I have borrowed a moby wrap from a friend, which is ok but I'm struggling to get it tied on properly. That's ok though as I'm going to a sling meet next Monday to get some help (a bit like going to the car seat shop to get the fit of the car seat checked HmmConfused).

Anyway, I wondered if anyone had any advice on slings in terms of different designs etc? Ninja am I right in thinking it was you that had a ring sling? What sort? Just looked on eBay and there seems to be all different sorts Confused.

I guess I want (a) a sling for carrying DS2 and (b) was thinking of trying bf in a sling when out and about. I've had ring slings recommended for bf a few times too. Are ring slings good for this and does it matter which sort?

If it helps, DS2 is 9 weeks and 13lb 13oz (or at least he was last week).

Obviously I'll be asking these questions when I go to the sling meet next week but feel like I need a heads up as its all a bit overwhelming......

Cheers xx

Biscuitsandtea · 13/05/2012 07:16

Ok, now I'm looking on Amazon. Anyone know anything about Mei Tei carriers? This looks kinda comfy? But I do have a Baby Bjorn - are they quite similar?

Also, doesn't this baby look like they're about to fall out HmmConfused? Someone just doesn't look right?

pommedechocolat · 13/05/2012 07:18

Congrats myth!! Lovely name Smile

Musical - may I suggest a nap soon after in laws arrival? Smile
