Oh Ninja - what a nightmare! Have you a lot to finish at work today? Any chance of getting away early once everything is done?

Hey, just think if your computer did explode you might as well head home - they'd never get a new one in time for you finishing on maternity leave WinkGrin

It's awful leaving them like that though so I feel for you. You know the nursery staff will look after him though and you'll be back before long. Just keep ticking the minutes off.

And then you'll be on maternity leave and you won't have to worry about work any more Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 10/05/2012 10:22

Oh and Myth, Wants, Musical, Jen - hope at least some of you are in labour or enjoying newborn snuggles Grin

jenfraggle · 10/05/2012 10:28

Sorry to disappoint but nothing happening here.

Ninja it's your last day, you don't have to think about work after you leave tonight so that is one less thing to worry about. You have your holiday to look forward to if it ever stops raining

Musical I'm having a sweep on Tuesday, if you ask your MW then I'm sure she would do it for you. It's better for them to do sweeps than to induce people so I can't see them having a problem with it.

NinjaChipmunk · 10/05/2012 10:29

Thanks biscuits I'm feeling a bit emotional and crap today!

I am also still here but I haven't seen myth yet so maybe she has made progress. I have just come back from walking the dog, hoping to encourage baby to go down abit more. I also have a midwife appointment tomorrow musical but I will only be 39+1 so I doubt a sweep will be offered this time!

I have 2 men in my garden taking down some trees in preparation for my extension starting next week!

mythical · 10/05/2012 11:47

Hello! Well, we think I am in early labour but the sweep might have made my contractions irregular - they are far, far too painful to be braxton hicks (I can barely talk through them & I can't sit down as it hurts too much)
Currently around 10 min apart sometimes more, sometimes less. Just managing them at home at the moment using the birthing ball and warm baths yes I've taken paracetamol!!
The only downside is I had them through the night (further apart ) so I didn't get much sleep at all.
Looks like I'm in for a long one!!
I will catch up soon everything a bit hazy at the moment.. :o

jenfraggle · 10/05/2012 11:56

Go Myth! Don't ever underestimate the power of no brooking. You've only been here a few days and we have set you off :o

Biscuitsandtea · 10/05/2012 11:58

Ooooooh!

Good Luck Myth SmileSmile

Hope it all goes well for you. Remember, not only do you get a baby at the end of this but you get to join the night shift in the post natal thread Grin double winner GrinGrin

Seriously though - good luck - will be brooking for it to all go smoothly for you xxx

pommedechocolat · 10/05/2012 12:00

Oo good luck!! See you on the other thread later?!

mythical · 10/05/2012 12:04

I hope so :o
If this stops again I'm storming into hospital and asking them to TAKE. HER. OUT. NOW!
I hope I won't need to! :o

jenfraggle · 10/05/2012 12:18

I think you need to tell your LO that you are a no brooker now and that she is coming out TODAY.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 10/05/2012 12:27

Hello PSEPPs I jut wanted to come and check on you all, we are very excited on the brookers thread at the prospect of 4 brooking babies any day now! And with any luck we shall be supplying you with replacements very soon Smile

clickingtock · 10/05/2012 14:03

Hi Maybe - brooking you are here for good soon . Waves to all others because is totally lost as to who's up to what on this fred. Blush xxx

jenfraggle · 10/05/2012 16:10

Having a BH. Haven't had one for ages so that makes a change.

I hope that we haven't heard back from Myth because she is too busy sneezing. I'm sure she would be back here if it was another false alarm

mythical · 10/05/2012 16:14

Still no progress (or sleep!!) it just seems like I am in very slow labour.... contractions still quite irregular and v painful.
If nothing happens tonight I've been told to go in and get examined in the morning and we'll take it from there..

DreamingOfPeace · 10/05/2012 17:56

Well I hope it happens tonight myth

GO MYTH GO!!!

Ninja you've done it!! On mat leave will be much better, and hope your Ds well soon. Heartbreaking leaving them ill.

No Brooking my hinny off for Myth!

NinjaChipmunk · 10/05/2012 20:39

I am home and we are all sat eating takeaway pizza. I have ceremoniously switched off my alarm clock Grin
The water in the bathroom is still knackered and I think ds is coming down with something. He looks pale and tired but we are otherwise good.
Major brooking for myth!
Waves at everyone. Be back later y'all.

scarletfingernail · 10/05/2012 21:45

Yay for mat leave Ninja I hope your DS feels better soon.

Brooking for Myth and the next brooking baby.

ScrambledSmegs · 10/05/2012 22:05

Ooh, myth that happened to someone I know! Contractions v painful but never closer than 10 mins apart, lasted two days (sorry) and she eventually went into hospital wondering what was going on. Turned out she was 9cm and gave birth less than an hour after going in!

Sorry, I realise that may not sound great, but I'm sure stuff will speed up for you and you can rest soon.

Brooking for you!

LOandI · 10/05/2012 22:15

I'm new to Mumsnet and so was wondering . . . What are 'sneeze births'? Just trying to fit into a conversation but struggling to follow !!

musicalmrs · 10/05/2012 22:21

Myth, hope it's all moving on for you now! Brooking you're well on your way now :)

Jen, will you be 40wks at your appointment? I've heard sometimes they're fussy about sweeping before you hit term - I suppose it depends on the area and maybe the midwife? I don't know what they're like around here - will have to see! No idea when my appointment is, so will have to give the surgery a call first thing.

Wants, good luck re your appointment tomorrow! An extension sounds exciting - though mad timing! (though I'm hardly one to talk - first moving house, and will hopefully be having the kitchen entirely pulled apart with a newborn in the house - madness!).

Maybe, lovely to see you here! When will your obvious pregnancy be confirmed? I'll pop back to the conception fred tomorrow - it's been so busy here I've neglected it Blush, though I have caught up with the post natal one today :)

Congratulations on finally being on maternity leave Ninja! Enjoy the lack of alarm clock tomorrow :)

ScrambledSmegs · 10/05/2012 22:45

LOandl - it's when you sneeze, and Oh! Look, here's the baby!

Ideal birth scenario, innit Wink

musicalmrs · 11/05/2012 08:25

No news from Myth? Hopefully that means newborn snuggles are underway! :)

Appt at 10.30 today. My notes suggest that here they discuss a sweep at 40 wks (this technically being my 40wk appointment) but won't actually do one until 41. In which case, I'll be initiating Plan Evict Baby when I get home! Might also treat myself to a huge bar of chocolate when I pass the shops, seen as DH isn't here today to tell me off.. Grin
