Smegs it's great you've got a new nuchal appointment - and in a way it must be a great relief skipping the most worrying part of pregnancy? :)

Wants3 · 01/05/2012 15:42

Excellent news smegs glad you got your appointment sorted.
ninja I still have my peestick with it's 2 pink lines Blush. I don't plan to throw it out until I bring the baby home!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 01/05/2012 15:45

I've updated the stats thread, and I've moved a bunch of people who haven't posted in a long time to a separate "missing in action" section. I hope I haven't annoyed anyone by doing this! Personally I was just finding it really hard to figure out who was actually next on the stats list, with all the extra names!

I have only moved people who were due before Musical. There are a few more names on the list lower down that could probably also do with moving...

Please feel free to go in and make corrections! Also, we need to get on the newbies on!

Stats Thread

musicalmrs · 01/05/2012 16:36

Lovely clean up Scream! I saw the stats thread before I saw your post here, and wondered why you left some on the list lower down who we haven't seen for ages.. but makes sense now :)

Ninja, I have my peestick too Blush Though as I need to pack my bedside table contents soon, maybe it's time I throw it away...

Smegs, glad you managed to get an appointment sorted - and quite quickly too! :)

Have packed a multitude of boxes, and have just sat down for a cup of RLT. Any more signs Jen, Wants? I'm getting lots of twinges and painful BHs, but nothing new!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 01/05/2012 16:56

I'm happy to shift a few more names into the MIA group on the stats list, but I just wanted to double check I haven't annoyed/offended anyone with the changes I've already made!

I didn't throw my -multitude of-- peesticks away until I went into hospital for my elcs... Blush

Yay for Smegs appointment! I've had a nosy on the Rat Smacker thread, and I'm amazed at what your little bean has come through!! The No Brooking spirit is strong with this one! Grin

How are you feeling Musical? Any signs? Where are we on LOs' calendar of Acceptable Days for Delivery? Grin

Jen? Wants? Updates please ladies :)

farfallarocks · 01/05/2012 16:56

I have bravely
a) gone swimming, first bit of excercise in 3 months!
b) had the guts to take the batteries out of my CBFM
c) added myself to stats :)

We have had another much awaited BFP on the conception thread, I hope she will join us shortly :)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 01/05/2012 17:50

Hurrah far! Brave steps indeed :)

clickingtock · 01/05/2012 17:53

Hello everyone I think that's an intro from Far - thanks (and great braveness indeed - how was the swim?). I will hover around here over the next few weeks - if that's ok - and hold out for a sticky bean while sending you all massively good vibes. xxx

NinjaChipmunk · 01/05/2012 18:04

hello tock pull up an armchair and make yourself comfortable, it's lovely to see you over here. Massive congrats on the bfp, I know its been a long road.

Well I'm shattered. Been to the Museum of London today with ds and now I'm finally home I think my feet have grown by several sizes. Plates of meat indeed! And he still wants to go to the library (thankfully that's only over the road and is open late tonight so am having 10 mins mn time first).
far well done on the brave steps, how was the swim?
steak burgers and chips for dinner tonight I think. And the sun is out, how lovely after all this rain! Mind you my garden is looking lush and tropical so I shouldn't complain too much.

Wants3 · 01/05/2012 18:26

No excitement from me although I am feeling abit grumpy for no particular reason( is this a pre labour symptom ?) clutches at straws sun is shining here aswell despite very wet start.

musicalmrs · 01/05/2012 21:19

Scream, I'm feeling huge! Grin LO can come between now and Thurs. It's not allowed on Fri or Sat, but anytime after that!

I'm getting lots of odd pains and painful BHs, some seeming to come regularly and some not. My bladder also seems to have shrunk to a ridiculous size, after being teeny enough before! I'm hoping these are all signs of my body gearing up for labour, but I know they don't necessarily mean anything's imminent :( DH would quite like it to come today/tomorrow as he then gets out of some work he's not looking forward to! I am therefore bouncing away on my ball as I type..! Doubt it'll do anything, but every little helps...

Far, hurrah for all those steps! How are you feeling? :) Pull up a glittery bucket!

Tock, lovely to see you over here :)

Wants, I'm sure grumpiness is a symptom Grin I'm generally upbeat, but finding I'm so uncomfortable some of the time that it's hard to stay that way!

musicalmrs · 01/05/2012 21:23

Ah, got confused... I meant to suggest to Tock that she pulls up a glittery bucket, as Far has already had hers for some time!

Scream, how is that gorgeous DD of yours doing? :)

NinjaChipmunk · 01/05/2012 21:49

have any second timers done any prep for the birth this time around? I feel I should be doing something.....not quite sure what though. I have a form from the mw for a one off afternoon parent craft course so will fill that in. And possibly buy a couple of those squishy stress balls to save poor dp's fingers from being crushed this time. Bit stuck after that, any suggestions?

jaggythistle · 01/05/2012 21:56

I did natal hypnotherapy ninja - mainly because I wasn't doing antenatal classes to practice breathing and relaxation.

I found it helped me relax and sleep a bit better when pg and I was 9cm dilated when I got to the hospital so i guess it was working during labour Shock

Seriously though it helped me not panic and feel more in control. I still lost it a bit when it got to the pushing, but that's partly because I was discracted by lots of people messing about in my fanjo trying to check if DS2 was ok! Some doctor too feckin ages to do fetal scalp blood samples and there wasn't really much gap between contractions!

jaggythistle · 01/05/2012 21:57

*took

NinjaChipmunk · 01/05/2012 21:58

when did you start it, was it on a cd?

OP posts:
jaggythistle · 01/05/2012 22:02

yes, did pg relaxation from 20 weeks ish and birth prep (vbac prep for me) from 30 something weeks - not very oftencompares to recommendation though - never seemed to find the time! (plus DS2 a week early :) )

jaggythistle · 01/05/2012 22:03

cd about £11 on Amazon.

scarletfingernail · 01/05/2012 22:10

Hi all sorry for the silence, been a bit tied up!

Getting very excited for the next wave of births. I reckon Wants will be first.

Contests and welcome over tock

I've read through the thread but I'm on my awkward phone so will ackonwledge properly when I'm home on the laptop.

I'm still in hospital as I'm still requiring some strong painkillers. I'm hoping to be sent home tomorrow though as I'm missing DS so much. He was so lovely when he came to meet his sister and thinks the fact that her milk is from mummy's boobies is hilarious!

DD is just perfect. She eats, sleeps and poos and just looks cute. She's feeding brilliantly and sleeps lots so I'm very happy.

I'll post more tomorrow, just wanted you to know I'm still here brooking no argument for you all.

jaggythistle · 01/05/2012 22:11

yay scarlet - sounds great!

Biscuitsandtea · 01/05/2012 23:57

Yay for your perfect dd Scarlet - sounds like you're onto a winner if she can tick all those boxes off Grin

I am still struggling with the idea though that it's a dd - for some reason I was just convinced that yours was a DS Confused. I guess every brooker so far with an older DS has had DS2 haven't they? Hawthers, me, Purple, Jaggy?

In any event she sounds absolutely perfectly adorable. And glad DS is taking to her well.

Hope they'll let you get on home tomorrow - sleep well m'dear xx

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 02/05/2012 00:21

Yay for Scarlet's perfect DD! I hope those pesky mw's keep it down tonight, and you manage to get some sleep. Glad everything's going well with your LO, and No Brooking that your recovery will be swift and easy once you get home tomorrow.

My DD is still delightful and I'm hopelessly in love! I admitted to DH today that everyone I pooh-poohed saying that I would still want to spend my birthday by myself, may actually have been totally right! Blush It's not that I'm not tired, and it's not that I worry about her when DH is looking after her - he's great with her. It's simply that I love being snuggled up with her and it would make my birthday less enjoyable if she wasn't around, even at 3am! I didn't understand that before, I thought it was all about practical stuff but I was soooo wrong. Need to cancel my hotel booking now Blush

I'm totally ready for the bfing to stop hurting though! When do your nipples finally adjust?!?!

Hurrah for all the signs that Musical, Wants and Jen are gearing up for the big day! I'm No Brooking that Musical's DH gets the early birth he wants, to get him out of the horrible piece of work! Also, it makes perfect sense to me that being in a bad mood is a sign of imminent labour Wants!

scarletfingernail · 02/05/2012 07:52

Biscuits I know! It's so weird isn't it! All of our family are in shock! Everyone who knows us was convinced we were having a boy. I don't think anyone can be more shocked than me though!

Of course the comments have already started about how lucky we are to have one of each, is our family complete now.we have a boy and a girl, blah blah blah.

I stand by what I said before. We'd have been delighted to have had another boy, I really was just too happy to be having another DC to give preference any thought whatsoever.

pommedechocolat · 02/05/2012 07:59

Scream - I kinda wondered that when you told us your birthday plans :) Noone can tell a new to be first time mum the love you'll feel or the shock of the sleep deprivation ime. I told everyone I'd be fine with no sleep as I was used to having so little... Then had a complete meltdown when dd1 was 5 weeks old about having no sleep :)

Biscuitsandtea · 02/05/2012 08:08

Ah yes of course - the 'complete' family. I've had people ask if I really wanted a girl. Shock

'Oh yes, I'm just selling DS2 on eBay and then we'll be trying again...' *

*Disclaimer - this is of course a fib.

I do weirdly think though that there is a tiny bit of me that thinks about what it would have been like to have had a girl. However, I think it's just that I was either going to have a boy and a boy OR a boy and a girl. We aren't having any more DC so I think whichever I'd have had, it eliminates the other possibility iyswim?

So maybe I might see girls clothes in a shop and think 'oh, I'll never be buying girls' clothes'. But had I had a girl there would have been things about having 2 boys that I might have missed. Even if It was just putting ds1's clothes out for charity and thinking 'oh, we won't get to use that lovely jumper again' or whatever. So I think it's just because I'd thought about both possibilities when I was pregnant iyswim.

I just need to clarify there again that, like Scarlet, I am delighted to have ANY DC and I couldn't give a flying fig what flavour they are.
