Go Scarlet Go!

I am so hoping this is it and you are currently sneezing away! Oooh.....

Good luck!

And in the unlikely event that it hasn't tuned into anything, good luck with the appt tomorrow morning (actually this morning now!). Really I hope you're snuggling with miniScarlet right now though xx

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Loopy - are you finding out boy/girl? Sorry if you've already said, I've forgotten what I've read today. I have man-flu so can't be expected to remember anything WinkSmile

scarletfingernail · 27/04/2012 06:58

Well, I ended up falling asleep after all and the pains didn't develop any further. Shucks, so I'm going to my appointment after all. I feel a bit silly now! I'm starting to prepare myself now for an induction next week as I just can't see me going into labour any more. It'll be all over one way or another soon enough I guess.

Biscuitsandtea · 27/04/2012 07:17

Awww Scarlet Sad

Sorry it didn't develop.

Good luck this morning though. Do you think you'd rather the baby was breech and they do a CS or the right way up (can't remember the name for that!) and you had to wait it out for a poss induction? xx

farfallarocks · 27/04/2012 07:52

Oh Scarlett how frustrating for you, fingers crossed things get moving for you this weekend!!

musicalmrs · 27/04/2012 08:36

Sorry it didn't develop any further scarlet. Hope the appointment goes well today - if LO is head down, could you ask for a sweep or something to try and hurry things up? Will keep checking back for news!

Shattered today - was up for a couple of hours last night with quite painful BHs (possibly contractions?) that seemed to be getting regular ish, then died away. I don't think anything's happening imminently, just think it's my body gearing up - but still, all good signs I suppose!

MW appointment later this morning, and then we get the keys to the new house, hurrah!

jenfraggle · 27/04/2012 08:56

Oh Scarlet, you do seem to have a very cheeky monkey in there. I was all set to pass you some pepper.

Good luck today Loopy

I was quite uncomfortable yesterday, getting sharp pains down below so am wondering if Spud has finally decided to start engaging. MW is coming here tomorrow to do birth plan must tidy up before she gets here so will find out then. Got a breastfeeding class in a minute, MW tomorrow and touring the MLU on Sunday. 3 days in a row!

jaggythistle · 27/04/2012 09:16

oh sorry scarlet. hope it's not long.

musicalmrs · 27/04/2012 09:59

Jen, that's a lot of preparation in three days! :) I found our tour of the MLU really helpful - as did DH I think.

Hurrah for the stabby pains! Wants has a MW appoint today too I think, so we can compare engaged-ness. That said, as it's not her first child I think I'm right in saying that her baby could wait to engage properly until the last minute? For my part, I'm pretty sure it's engaging then disengaging - I get days with no heartburn then days with tonnes, and days when I can feel it has engaged (especially after doing lots of walking) then days when it's very high up. Most baffling..

Brooking for some good news from Scarlet imminently!

NinjaChipmunk · 27/04/2012 10:55

right, lets see what I can remember
far brilliant brilliant news on your scan to see a little waving bean. I am so chuffed for you!
loopy good luck today at your scan, will you find out the sex?
scarlet I really hope things kick off for you soon and your baby is head down with a simple sneeze birth.
scream How are you getting on? Autumn sounds absolutely gorgeous by the way. Hope there is not too much family madness coming your way Grin
musical your moving date seems to have come round so fast! Good luck in your new home!
Got another estate agent coming round to do a valuation on our flat today although we're still nowhere near finished decorating. Then hopefully off to a friends if we have time after. Weather is crap though, I so hope it picks up soon. Will April showers finish next week when its May???
I suppose I should start tidying if someone is coming round......

scarletfingernail · 27/04/2012 11:33

Great news. Baby is well and truly head down after all and 3/5ths engaged.

I had a sweep which was a bit painful but I managed to stick with it and let them get on with it and I'm apparently 1-2 cm dilated already. Which is apparently not uncommon after you've already given birth once anyway.

So, the BIG news is....I'm going to be induced today! I explained how much discomfort I'm in now and how I'm struggling with my hips and pelvis and as my cervix is already favourable they agreed that it's not necessary to wait until Wednesday. I could theoretcially go into labour naturally of course between now and then, but when they offered me a slot for today I thought about it and decided I'd rather it all now be over sooner rather than later. The constant mentalling about things going wrong, worrying about the baby's position and physical aches and pains are getting me down too much.

I've got a couple of hours now to prepare myself and get someone over to look after DS. I've been told not to expect to give birth today and that it will likely be some time tomorrow because of how long it takes the pessary to work etc. But I should have some news for you tomorrow at the latest.

Sorry for yet another me me me post. I've read through everyone else's posts but it's all gone out of my head already.

Laters Brookers xx

musicalmrs · 27/04/2012 11:57

Scarlet - hurrah for head down and 3/5ths! And even more hurrah for induction! I'll be checking back for news - how very exciting! So glad they offered you a slot.

Loopy, brooking for you and your scan!

Ninja, hope the valuation goes well! It's not officially moving day until next week, but it is keys and cleaning day today Grin. Out of interest, did you have it valued before you did all the decorating?

Just had my MW appointment - she doesn't think this baby will be appearing before due date. My notes say NE, which after saying 4/5 for the last two appointments I'm guessing means Not Engaged? Doesn't surprise me - pesky baby! MW suspects baby won't come early, which would be nice in a way - would mean we'd be all moved in.

Biscuitsandtea · 27/04/2012 12:18

Ooooh oooh oooh Scarlet this is immense news! Good luck! Hope it all goes well and mini scarlet is here soon Smile

Brooking super hard for you and will keep popping back for news xx See you on the night shift Grin

jenfraggle · 27/04/2012 12:25

Musical my notes have said NE every single time so far and I'm only a week behind you.

Scarlet hope the induction goes well and look forward to hearing about your newborn snuggles tomorrow. Here is some pepper to help you with your sneezing.

Had a bit of drama at breastfeeding class. Was sitting there and all of a sudden started to feel faint. They took me outside to get some fresh air and gave me some water. I was still feeling funny so came in and had my BP taken. Whereas most people would be low when feeling faint, I like to be different and it was high! I went for a lie down for a bit and then they took it again and it was back to normal. They listened to the HB which was 152 so higher than usual. Looking at my notes they have put Long Lie Cephalic ROL 4/5th which from a little googling seems to mean head down and sideways but most excitingly, it's started to engage! at last

I missed most of the class due to this but they have let me borrow the dvd. I just came back as they were talking about the best position to hold them. I was surprised that it is upright but they obviously know what they are talking about.

When they started to talk about visitors in the early days I thought about you Scream. They said to try and minimise visitors, ideally have none, for the first few days to enable you to get the feeding sorted and supply established.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 27/04/2012 13:55

Yay for Scarlet's induction! No time to respond to other posts I'm afraid, we're being discharged right now! Just wanted to quickly send lots of No Brooking to Scarlet! So exciting!

ScrambledSmegs · 27/04/2012 13:59

Good luck scarlet! Hope everything goes well.

Biscuitsandtea · 27/04/2012 14:23

oooh good luck to Scarlet on her way in to the hospital and Scream on her way out :)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 27/04/2012 15:02

Yay scarlet! I think that's a great decision - get it all started while you know baby's positioned nicely etc :)

That sounds a bit scary jen! Do you need to follow it up at all, or is it just one of those things?

You get your keys today, is that right musical? :)

Wants3 · 27/04/2012 15:36

Hi all, exciting for scarlet going in, and scream coming out.
Mw appointment good, baby measuring spot on( I was worried he was getting too big) and is still 3/5 th engaged! Yes musical subsequent babies can pop in and out and not fully engage until labour but this one seems happy to stay put. Maybe it's because there was a big gap between my last pregnancy and this one!
I have just popped home to get changed before my 'garden party' the sun is shining despite it raining all week! I have already been given a huge bunch of flowers and a bag of lovely clothes and toys so I think I will be thoroughly spoilt this afternoon:)

Stacks · 27/04/2012 16:19

Hello everyone! Quick post form work to add my excitement and brooking for scarlet and her sneeze birth.

I think I already congratulated scream but if not, here's some belated congrats and flowers :) Autumn is a lovely name, and sounds like a lovely well behaved baby too.

Wants hope things start moving along for you soon too!

Muscial grats on getting the keys, hopefully baby conforms to your schedule and comes just when expected :)

Far great news on your scan. I can't wait till my 12 week one, seems ages away though.

jenfraggle · 27/04/2012 17:11

I keep trying to get a TENS machine off ebay. The midwives say that is a better idea than hiring as you can always sell it on again to get some money back. I keep getting outbid and losing out at the last minute! GRRR

Biscuitsandtea · 27/04/2012 17:12

Jen when are you due? You can have mine if there's time for me to send it to you?

jenfraggle · 27/04/2012 17:18

Are you sure? I'm 36+5, just trying to be prepared Can you tell I'm a Guider?

Biscuitsandtea · 27/04/2012 17:58

Yeah, sure, I won't be needing it ever in the near future! Grin

I actually completely forgot I had it this time round so it even has the new pad things that stick on unopened.

PM me your address and I'll try and get it in the post on Monday if that's ok? xx

TheLittleFriend · 27/04/2012 19:08

Very exciting news scarlet, I hope it's all going well xx
