I'm at that stage where I look all slim in the morning and the bloat by teatime means I can't do up my trousers. By the time dinner is finished I have a massive food baby Grin.

The oddest comment I had last time was when the blinds fitter came to put a blackout blind in the baby's bedroom as well as some others downstairs. While making conversation he said the house seemed very quiet and was the baby out with grandparents? I was 37 weeks pregnant at the time. He hadn't noticed Confused

PricklyPickle · 10/06/2012 00:53

I can't believe you're showing already bunty. I'm so jealous, i want my bump! Envy

Hope you have a lovely holiday.

pmgkt · 10/06/2012 08:06

Ah pickle it will come don't worry. First time round it always later as you still have stomach muscles. Enjoy that while it lasts. I started wearing mat clothes at 16 weeks last time but even then got away with a few items in a bigger size. This time around all my 12 stuff is away, and surviving on post baby pre weight loss items with the odd maternity item as well for comfort.

I have also got my bump bands out and am remembering how comfy they are in early stages rather than later as they support that bloated feeling so they might be an idea . Also handy if you need to undo trousers as they can make sure noone really notices

PricklyPickle · 10/06/2012 08:27

Bump bands?! Is that a big stretchy band of material to cover you belly?
If so that sounds like a genius invention!

I really do feel clueless sometimes, it surprises me they are going to let me raise a child at the end of this.

LadyStoneheart · 10/06/2012 10:00

Hey everyone!

Thought I would finally attempt to overcome my shyness and introduce myself. I make myself 7+2 weeks and due Jan 25th (first pregnancy), was admitted to hospital a few days ago due to hyperemesis and was given a scan to rule out twins, where I measured at what is now 7+4. It was nice to see that little heartbeat fluttering away, despite all my very strong symptoms and BFPs I was slightly worried it was all in my head!

I have to go for a repeat scan on Thursday though, as although this pregnancy is definitely uterine they found an ovarian cyst with what looks like a yolk sack and are concerned I might also have an ectopic pregnancy. The doctor went to pains to reassure me that the chances of this are very slim, but still it's a worry.

Hope you and little ones are all ok.

SpringFlowers · 10/06/2012 10:28

Welcome Lady. You are having a bit of a time of it, hopefully everything will be fine when you have your next scan. I had a scan at 6+5 (currently 8+1) due to some bleeding and I had grown an ovarian cyst. I had one in my last pregnancy too. Usually they go on their own although mine didn't and I had surgery when my baby was 6 months. It isn't really anything to be worried about.

PricklyPickle · 10/06/2012 10:52

Congrats Lady on a healthy bean and welcome to the gang.

I hope you're not worrying too much, listen to Spring she is very wise!

Poor you having hyperemesis, how are you feeling now?

pmgkt · 10/06/2012 10:57

yes pickle you are right. mothercare do them and just help you feel less flabby and more contained.

good luck Lady - hope things all work out well for you.

PricklyPickle · 10/06/2012 11:04

I walked past Mothercare really slowly yesterday peering through the window, debating whether to go in, but I decided it was tempting fate too much as I haven't had a scan yet. Only 11 days to go though :)

LadyStoneheart · 10/06/2012 11:07

Thanks for the welcome, Spring and Pickle!

I'm feeling loads better now I'm back home with my precious bottle of antiemetics! Still very queasy and tired all the time, but keeping most things down, which feels like an exciting novelty still, haha.

Thankfully not due back at work until Tuesday, so can spend a bit more time on the sofa being lazy recuperating Wink

Cat's well and truly out of the bag there now though, pretty sure they've all caught on after how sick I was there the other day and my insistence that I'm not ill!

kim222 · 10/06/2012 13:51

Next time someone updates the list please can you add me, 1st baby, edd 11/01/13 oh and I'm 30, scan 2nd July 2012

mummypud · 11/06/2012 07:19

Have woke uP fairly crampy today and when i went to the loo i noticed brown jelly like discharge . A fair amount , thinking the worst really, off to have a good old cry :(

Sossiges · 11/06/2012 07:30

Poor mummypud have a hug and a nice Brew

shakemyhead · 11/06/2012 07:44

Morning. Been lurking since bfp on 7/5. Edd 14/1/13. Had a early scan on 1/6 to get an accurate date for timely nt scan. I have been having irregular cycles since Mmc of a little girl last year at approx 13/14 weeks. She had down syndrome.
Just waiting and holding breath until scan on 29th
Think I should join the list.

For the record the nt last time was 7.4mm and they would have referred us for Futher testing with or without ds screening consent, as it can indicate other conditions. We didn't wait for bloods to come back. In our pct anything over 3mm is an instant flag.

SquealyB · 11/06/2012 10:57

lady you poor thing. Hope you get chance to rest up.

mummyp don't panic, could be absolutely nothing but if you are concerning you can always call your GP/midwife.

shake welcome! Sorry to hear about previous MC. Hope everything goes smoothly with current bump. I know what you mean about holding your breathe until the scan, that is exactly how I feel too.

As for me, I have spent the weekend alternating between elation and misery. My hormones are all over the shop and my poor DH does not know what has hit him. Ended up in floods of tears over DIY, dinner, etc. etc. and seem to be crying on almost daily at the moment (which is surreal as I am not ususally a cry-er). Basically I am a complete pyscho Confused. I know all the books say this is normal but PLEASE tell me that this eases off a bit, as would like to return to my normal self at some point during the next 33 weeks!

mrsbugsywugsy · 11/06/2012 12:09

mummyp don't panic, that sounds a lot like what I had and everything was fine at the scan.

Does anyone else have funny little twinges in their belly?

Squealy I am also a LOT more emotional than usual. I am watching Game of Thrones (but I'm a few episodes behind) and I cried uncontrollably at the bit when they killed the old king's babies. Normally I am a fan of horror movies.

theboutiquemummy · 11/06/2012 13:22

SquealyB and Mrsbugsywugsy i'm the same just freaked out about the whole thing and DH is pretty much like lets not talk about anything until we have a scan and can see the baby is ok then we can discuss it all.

Hormones have kicked in big style and alls I want to do is cry.

Brought the book pregnancy for Men hoping that will help

Found out from that book that the babys heart is about the same size as a peppercorn and that made me cry

anyone else like this ?

oh and as for morning sickness i've now got heartburn thanks to all the wretching.

mummypud · 11/06/2012 15:16

Thankyou ladies, i am trying to stay positive but i am not comfertable , very crampy but the bleeding has slowed a bit , rang the early pregnancy unit and they said see what happens over the next few days .

SquealyB · 11/06/2012 15:50

Glad to hear I am not alone on the emotional rollercoaster. But I am definitely ready to get off Smile.

mrsbugsy I am slightly obsessed with Game of Thrones, currently re-reading the books to get my fix now the TV series has finished.

mrsbugsywugsy · 11/06/2012 16:35

Squealy it's great isn't it? I'm catching up with season two so don't give me any spoilers!

Today's lovely symptom is....terrible wind. My tummy is killing me and I am doing gaviscon flavoured burps.

SquealyB · 11/06/2012 16:46

Don't worry mrsbusy my lips are sealed.

As I continue to find ways to deal with my non-drinking I have made a new discovery this weekend on the non-alcoholic drinks front which is worthj sharing - Whittard's Instant Teas. They are AMAZING (and much lower in calories than a lot of the other non-alcoholic options) and really tasty very cold with lots of ice. I am obsessed with the Peach Melba and Pink Lemonade flavours.

SquealyB · 11/06/2012 16:46

Yeah I feel your pain on the digestive issues front!!!

newbie6 · 11/06/2012 16:48

Hello all,

I had my scan last week when I was 7weeks and baby measured 7+2 so very exciting to see my wee bambino :)

Have had awful nausea that seems to last all day and am very tired but the doctor told me that was a good sign so not complaining! I feel pretty fat at the moment too, sometimes I think I look 6mths pregnant never mind 8 weeks - does anyone else feel like that? When do you tend to start showing if it is your first baby?

Am so scared but excited too - this is going to be an exciting journey I'm sure!

xx

mummypud · 11/06/2012 16:59
