So I POAS and oh, wow, it's positive!
From my online calculating, that puts the due date at Jan 20th, ish, 2013.

This will be my second, DS is currently 20 months old.

I'm so exciiiiiiiiiiited and I can't tell anyone yet! Also, I am looking for a new job and we're talking about buying a house. Crazy, moi?

Had booking apt this morning which was fun! Midwife was not concerned at all about the measurements being smaller than dates just said all the scan should do is show HB and that it's in the right place as any measurements now will be so inaccurate. She's still dating me as over 8 weeks. Edd now 08/01/13 can't update list as on phone

Hello everyone! I hope I can join the club? I'm new, Im 31, this is my first baby (hopefully it'll become a baby) and EDD is 25 January 2013. Ridiculously excited and worried. Boobs are still sore but have gone from agonising to tender in a week. I'm so worried. Seem to be losing pregnancy symptoms rather than gaining them . Anyone else completely wiped out? I just want to sleeeep. And drink wine.

Booked in for a private scan on 12th June. Every day is feeling like a week. I NEED TO KNOW!

Hello Ladies! room for another? I'm 28 and this is my first baby, that seems so weird to write!!

Lazycoo, I'm with you - my symptoms seem to be easing up, and boobs still tender and not as bad as before. I was also feeling queasy and now hardly at all. I am getting headaches though and completely shattered! I seem to be waking up really early for no reason which by lunchtime is a killer!

I'm not entirely sure on dates but the calculators put me at around 26th Jan, although I think it'll be a little later.

I'm seeing the midwife on wednesday so hopefully will get a scan date after that. So exciting and scary!

Congrats lazycoo and positive. I'm exactly the same with waking up early and then being soooo tired by the afternoon! Also with boobs - I wonder if it's just us getting used to the pain so it doesn't feel as bad.

Just a warning re early scans - I had one and it didn't offer any reassurance it was the opposite as it came up much smaller than dates so I've been really worried but midwife basically said they are too small to be accurate and not to worry - so sometimes I think they do the opposite of reassure. Having said that I think I might go for another before the 12 week one as it seems too long to wait and I'm still panicking!

cogito how far along did u think you were and what did they put you at?
im hoping for one around 8wksish. because i had a missed m/c it killed me that for nearly half the time i thought i was preg the baby had stopped growing. i wouldve liked to have known sooner

DS v sweet this morning. They are doing nursery rhymes at nursery, and he loves twinkle twinkle, and does little actions with it. Every time I tried to sing a new song, or stop, he bribed me with a kiss, "MORE MORE".

I've been stressing over whether I have time and money for a private but that's definitely food for thought cogito glad to hear midwife's happy with it all!

I don't think I can count this as a craving but now we've got to the long weekend I WANT WINE!!!! Were it not for a thin blue line I'd be making excellent progress through a nice big glass of white by now :)

I think I'd second cogito on not going for an early scan, as mine too was inconclusive and I have to go back for another one next week to see if it has grown. On the other hand I think I would rather see that it has died next week, than have waited till 12 weeks to find out. Perhaps the best thing would be to wait until say eight weeks, when you should definitely see a heartbeat if it's OK.

Bionic are you using Zovirax? I know it's on the 'untested' list for safety in pregnancy but I have been using it anyway as I cannot bear to have this hideous thing on my face for any longer than necessary. I think you might be right about immune systems as I normally get them when I am ill or run down.

Pessimist I don't know about you, but I think that the difference for my DP is that he sees this as a potential baby whereas for me it is an actual baby which is (hopefully) growing inside me, IYSWIM.

I went up to London again for work today so am feeling shattered. A couple sat opposite me on the train and started eating McDonalds and the smell of it nearly made me barf all over them.

bugs I would def rather find out sooner than later if its died. Last time was awful knowing it had been dead for about 5wks. So yeh I'm thinking an 8wk one will be best

Hi everyone- hello new girls- congratulations!!

Bugsy- my DF is just the same- really realistic and down to earth- in a 'what will be what will be' and if this isn't the one then there'll be another- when I really don't want another one! I want this one!

I had more spotting last night and there's been a bit today, and I think I've had a few cramps too :-( I got in a stew - friend suggested going to drs. I was worried they would think I was wasting their time but the doc was so lovely. She took me really seriously and had booked me in for a scan in Tuesday, when I'll be 7+4, can anyone tell me what to expect?

Have a week off from work now- just ready to collapse- am gagging for a g&t!!!

When I had my scan, first I saw a nurse who took some details from me. I was asked to empty my bladder before the scan. I had a transvaginal scan, which wasn't too bad tbh -just a bit of an unusual sensation, and not as bad as a smear. The sonographer pointed everything out to us on the screen - where the embryo was, and the yolk sac and foetal pole. Then I had to wait and see a doctor, who gave me a printout with the statistics, explained what they meant, and booked me another appointment for next week (because the scan was 'inconclusive').

Really hope it all goes well for you.

Evening ladies, just adding myself to the list.

I had my booking in appointment of Wednesday, it was very long and disappointingly lacking in any questions about tobacco chewing! The midwife asked me for a pee sample about 10 minutes after I'd just been to the bathroom so that was fun.

Bugs and wishful My DF is the same as well, he won't really allow himself to believe there's a baby in there until the scan. Maybe its a common thing amongst the menfolk as they don't have the constant reminders of feeling sick or tired, or worrying because you feel a bit better for a few hours. They have nothing tangible to help it sink in.

Cartoon I thought I was 7 abd a bit weeks and they put me at 6. But the 7 was already taking long cycle etc into account so 6 and 5 would be absolute min. After all the midwife's reassurance and my advice not to get an early scan I've booked another one for tomorrow! I just thought that way at least I'll know for definite. As others have said its better to know

Lots of talk about early scans today- i have one booked for tomorrow - I will be 9+2 so hope that it will provide comfort rather than more concerns. I also had my NHS appointment through today for 22nd June - so exciting.

Yay, birthday crown :o

I had my last scan at 7+4 at babybond. I didn't have to have an internal, tummy was fine so may be for you as well. I actually had the same at 6+6 earlier the same week - was amazing to see what a difference a few days made! It had grown from 9mm to 17!

They pointed out heartbeat, embryo and yolk sac, also because it was private, they looked at my ovaries, told me if ovulated from the left (!), and that y uterus etc looked fine, they could tell I had been pregnant recently (dc1 only 16 months), and all l

cogito that is food for thought, I can see myself going daft with worry if the scan is inconclusive but think I'll be brave, getting one at 7+6 (I think) although DH wants to do it at 10+1! Can't wait that long lol. Good luck at your scan!

I'm so sorry to hear that cartoon that is so sad.

I had a job interview yesterday (1 - why am I doing that when I am pregnant I have no idea but it's my dream job, 2 - I TOTALLY bombed) and now all I want is to drink a bottle glass of wine and forget. Gah. Sorry for whinge.

Well I already have three boys, so just convinced it'll be another one.

Sometimes I think dh might be just as worried as me but trying to preempt my feelings and so 'downplaying' it a bit iyswim?

Hi to all the new girls :)

Morning everyone. Looks like things have taken a turn for the worse - after a nice couple of days with no spotting this morning's first loo trip has seen me find lots of thick red blood on wiping just like start of af, and completely different to the spotting so far.

:(

Cheap - I have had one red bleed, not just when I wiped but while on the loo with blood dripping. I was convinced it was over but I've been scanned since and my baby is fine. It wasn't like that for long and stopped completely after about two hours. I hope you are ok, are you having any pain?
