So I POAS and oh, wow, it's positive!
From my online calculating, that puts the due date at Jan 20th, ish, 2013.

This will be my second, DS is currently 20 months old.

I'm so exciiiiiiiiiiited and I can't tell anyone yet! Also, I am looking for a new job and we're talking about buying a house. Crazy, moi?

tinyeyes I was 11 weeks pregnant on my 30th birthday and so paranoid that people would notice I wasn't drinking and was ready with excuses. In the end no one really noticed to the point I got so annoyed and announced my news anyway

I'm not telling my mum yet as that is akin to my upduffedness being the top story on the ten o'clock news and I don't need random aunties and long lost cousins knowing yet.

I'm not telling my mum for a few more weeks so I can have some peace!

So I feel overwhelmingly tired and keep lying on the sofa and getting more and more lethargic - so I'm forcing myself to go outside and get on a horse - and it works. Plus I won't make any money if I don't, so it's good motivation. I'm curious as to what point it won't be possible...

After having some bleeding everyday for two weeks I had a scan yesterday at 6+5. Baby is miraculously fine, measuring as it should for dates with a little heart beating.

Right, think I might get up for some cornflakes...

Bunty happy birthday!!!

Wishful It really varied to be honest. Somedays it would just be the teensy tiniest specks with wiping, somedays it would just be totally brown when wiping and somedays there was enough for spots in my pantyliner. And just when it looked like it was easing off I'd go back to having more again. Did another test this morning (what an addiction!) And still bfp so really hoping it's OK. It's heartening to hear that SpringFlowers had two weeks of it and is fine but it's still hard not to worry, or to shake of that awful sense of dread everytime you go to the loo.

I'm another who is spotting. It's been a teeny bit every day since Sunday. Mostly just brown but yesterday evening there was a bit more and a bit of red.

I mentioned it to the GP on Wednesday and he said to call if it's not stopped next week so I can be referred for a scan. My worry it's when I'd be able to do that with the double bank holiday, then I have a really busy 2 days at work and don't want to do anything that will make them suspicious. We're off on holiday then from early on the Friday until the middle of the following week - a pre-planned camping trip which could be interesting!

I've been a bit reassured by older threads I've been reading that suggest this type of bleeding isn't unusual and is often not a problem and I guess there isn't anything I can do. I'm still just so pleased that I managed to get pregnant so quickly as I've had several close friends who had lots of problems.

I've also not had any symptoms other than really tender boobs. I did another test on Wednesday and the line appeared really fast.

Octane I don't know when she gave up totally but I dimly recall my 2nd cousin doing a dressage competition at 6 months pg!

Am thinking of telling work today, now I've seen the midwife and it's all official. Gulp.

Octane I think its one of those things you will know but don't push it otherwise you could end up with ligament trouble. I stopped as soon as I found out but mine was just a hobby on a horse share basis. You will be aware of the risk of falling off which is why most stop but this is your job and you won't be able to claim mat pay til 29 weeks at the earliest.

Brug - do you have a manager you trust enough to mention it to? Even though it's so early I felt I had to tell mine just in case it goes wrong and I needed a bit of understanding...

Octane, if you ride for a living, your employers are legally bound to carry out a risk assessment as soon as you inform them of your pregnancy, and stop you doing any activities which wouldn't be considered safe - even if this means temporarily reassigning you, and in the most extreme cases, if there is nothing else for you to do, they have to pay you for doing nothing!!! :)

Unfortunately it's my own business, so I am my own employer! I'll just have to keep going for as long as safe and then pay someone else to do the riding.

Ah, that's different then! :) You'll just need to decide how long you feel safe doing it for.

I'm not feeling ready to mention it to anyone at work yet. My work is pretty maternity friendly, being a predominantly female department that has produced quite a substantial number of babies over the past 5 years. For the same reason though I don't think my manager well be over joyed about the prospect of someone else going on maternity leave soonish. I'm also going through a regrading process so want to get the paperwork signed off before I tell anyone.

Brug ah tricky then! I guess you'll have to explain to the midwife that things are difficult with dates and she if she has any ideas - they must come accross lots of busy mums!
