Hi,

I too have been waking up at silly o'clock - it's so annoying especially as I'm so tired.

Hope you get on OK at the doctors this morning mrsbugsywugsy.

x

octanegirl · 28/05/2012 10:00

I'm quite tired a lot but try not to let on to the b/f as he's still pretty ambivalent about the whole thing....
Pmgkt - to answer your question they are my own horses, I retrain racehorses for a living so I'll keep riding for as long as it's practical and comfortable. Though the sore boobs aren't helping!

I booked in at the surgery for the m/w appt and got this pack of bumph in a plastic folder! I thought this hilarious. Didn't know the NHS did stuff like that. Money off vouchers at Boots and Argos and goodness knows what else.

CraftyGirly · 28/05/2012 10:02

Morning all! Just been (well tried to go) to my booking in appt with midwife at docs and they said there's nothing on system, even though I have a PRINTED appt card from them!! Shocking, although its worked out ok as MW is going to come to my house tomorrow morning to do it instead so all is not lost! Just very annoying!! Hope it's not a sign of things to come...!

QueentutNic · 28/05/2012 10:21

littlepinkfizz · 28/05/2012 10:40

Hi ladies. Feeling bit shxxt this morning. A little brown blood stained discharge first thing yesterday then nothing until some bright red blood at tea time. Nothing more but. Little brown stained discharge again this morning. Am 6 weeks. But also feeling very nauseous and exhausted. Hard to feel positive x

theboutiquemummy · 28/05/2012 11:00

littlepinkfizz big hugs

The nausea has kicked in big time toast n ginger tea SadSadBlush

How's everyone else doing ?

Lulabel27 · 28/05/2012 11:26

hi everyone - i feel crap!! I feel tired and have this low level feeling of nausea that isn't enough to make me vomit but i think of certain foods that normally i'd love at lunch time and they make my skin crawl now!! Thought I was going to be sick on commuter train this morning - hot, no seats etc!

I have an early scan tomorrow to check everything ok. Then 12 weeks scan is booked for 18th June :)

littlepinkfizz and mrsbugsywugsy i hope youre ok.

mrsbugsywugsy · 28/05/2012 11:30

Oh pinkfizz I hope it is all OK. It's terrifying isn't it? Even though it was very much planned, I don't think I realised quite how much I want this pregnancy until I was faced with the possibility of losing it. I am thinking of the nausea and tiredness as good signs!

I went to the Doctors this morning and she was great. She said it could be something or nothing, there is no way of knowing, so she has referred me to the early pregnancy unit tomorrow morning for a scan. At least then I will know either way.

Oh I also asked her about hayfever tablets. She said she didn't know of any problems with the ones I usually take (cetirizine), however only essential medications are advised in pregnancy so I should try to cope without them and only take them if it gets really bad.

Birdies · 28/05/2012 12:13

Hi everyone. littlepinkfizz hope you're ok. Sounds like you still have symptoms which is great and if the bleeding has stopped that's good too. I had it on and off with dd and all fine.

Had my booking apmt this morning, was good to get that done and have scan booked in for 4 weeks time. I didn't say I'd had a private one as apparently they might not let you have the NHS one if youve already had one.

Anyone else getting very strange symptoms?! Ok as an example, I bought a lovely little Chinese cabinet which now sits in the corner of our lounge. I now can't look at it without it making me feel sick Confused So my ms is doing weird things to me!!

eleda · 28/05/2012 12:44

Hi everyone,
I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now, not wanting to actually "say it out loud" to anyone other than DH!
I started spotting brown blood at 5+2 which I thought was mc-ing. Did some googling and all looked ok, then at 6wks starting bleeding red blood for a day and back to brown spotting - again, thought I was mc-ing. Went to the dr on the monday and he did a test which was positive and wasn't overly concerned. Then at 6+6 started bleeding red again overnight and since then I've been spotting red - no clots tho (TMI?). Feel really nauseous this morning so that's got to be a good sign?!?!?
Talk about a roller coaster ride!
Have booking in appt on Thursday so I guess I just wait and see.
I'm 7+2, 36YO, 1st PG and due 07/01/13 for the stats, but I have to have a CS at around 38wks (Xmas Day!?!?!) as I've had a trachelectomy and have a cerclage stitch instead of a cervix!
I can't work out if I'm exhausted because of the PG or because I'm traumatised Confused

mrsbugsywugsy · 28/05/2012 13:00

Birdies my DP's played some music yesterday which made me feel sick.

However my weirdest 'symptom' (?) is that the cat has fallen in love with me, she has started sleeping right next to my head and bringing me little 'presents' - four (!) over the weekend.

Eleda I'm not sure what a cerclage stitch is but could that be the cause of the bleeding? I think you could ask for an early scan, I don't think there is much they can do at this stage but it would (hopefully) set your mind at rest.

mrsbugsywugsy · 28/05/2012 13:01

Sorry DP, I only have one!

eleda · 28/05/2012 13:49

Thanks bugsy - a cerclage is basically a stitch at the neck of the uterus to hold it almost closed instead of your cervix. So I can bleed and get pregnant, but it is tight enough to hold the womb closed to hold baby in!
I think I'll ask for an early scan when I see the MW - she should be able to refer me right?!?

mrsbugsywugsy · 28/05/2012 14:03

I haven't seen the midwife yet as I'm only 6 weeks, but I called the Dr's surgery this morning as I'd had spotting over the weekend. They took it surprisingly seriously - I was given an appointment at 9.30am, and afterwards the Dr called me to tell me I have an appointment at the EPU tomorrow morning. Your bleeding sounds a bit more than mine, so I would have thought they'd do the same for you.

I don't know if a midwife can refer you. Perhaps you could call the surgery today and mention it, and see what they say?

theboutiquemummy · 28/05/2012 14:08

mrsbugswugsy thats great that they are taking it seriously at least it should put your mind at rest.

SquealyB · 28/05/2012 14:43

littlepinkfizz and mrsbugsywugsy - lots of positive thoughts for both of you! Hope you are ok. Agree that you should contact the Dr. in the event of anything that concerns you.

We did two tests last week on Tuesday and both were positive, went to the Dr. the next day and he said no need to do another test. Due on 25th January.

Very excited - this is our first and we have a honeymoon baby on the way as we got married on 28 April!! Feeling generally exhausted and off food at the moment but so worth it x

DrMcNinja · 28/05/2012 16:24

Hi all,

Do you mind if I join in? I'm due on the 3rd January, it's our first baby and we're both super excited about it! I'm 8 weeks and 4 days today, I had a bit of bleeding the other week and ended up getting a scan to make sure everything was ok (it was thankfully! but I was panicking lots). I've seen the midwife just to get some basic details down and then my next appointment is on the 12th June.

We've not told anyone yet, so next weekend we're going to tell both sets of our parents, then when we've had the first official scan we'll tell friends and extended family. I'm tempted to tell work before then though as I'm so tired right now, they've got to suspect something's up!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 28/05/2012 17:54

Hi to all the newbies!

I have a confession to make. I bought baby clothes Blush

mrsbugsywugsy · 28/05/2012 18:18

Hello DrMcNinja & congratulations. I'm debating telling work as well, as they must be wondering what all of the Dr's appointments are for. My boss is really sweet and is probably worried!

Cupcakes you are very naughty!

Can someone who has had a scan already let me know what to expect, as I forgot to ask the Dr about it and there isn't anything on the hospital website. Do I need to do anything in preparation (apart from wear my best pants Grin)?

Will it be (gulp) internal?

Felt shattered at work today, I was supposed to work late to make up for the Dr's appointment this morning, but had to admit defeat and go home at 5. Luckily I can blame recovery from last week's virus.

SquealyB · 28/05/2012 18:28

Hi DrMcNinja and Cupcakes and congratulations to you both!

Hilarious that you bought clothes already, I am already looking at the local primary (and secondary school) so I fear I may be getting ahead of myself just a little bit.

I was "outed" at a work social event as we had two big events this week and me (a) not drinkning and (b) not smoking (quit cold turkey once found out the bun was in the oven - but had been planning to quite anyway) my goose was cooked. I tried to lie but could not stop smiling Grin. So they all know now and it is a bit easier on reflection.

cogitosum · 28/05/2012 19:06

Bugsy I had to have a full bladder so about a litre of water an hour before and no weeing! Mine wasn't internal and they seemed to get quite a good view. Also I know it's not relevant as you haven't told them but for future you don't need to make time up for any appointments they are legally required to let you take them and pay you.
SquealyB I had a similar thing last week - noone said anything official but think it was fairly obvious!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 28/05/2012 19:41

Squealy, I have also looked at schools! Not that I'm at all obsessed. Oh no... And in my defence, the clothes were second hand. I got 20-odd vests and baby-grows, a gro-bag and two pregnancy books for the princely some of £7.20. Bargain!

I'm also debating telling my boss - he's also lovely and might fret about the appointments! We'll be finalising our objectives for the year soon so I might tell him before that - he will adjust my work accordingly if he knows.

wishfulthinking1 · 28/05/2012 20:17

Can i join?
I'm 28 nearly 29 it'll be our first baby and I think it's due jan 19th. I had a dr app last Thursday and he's signed me up with the midwife. Midwife rang today asking me to make app before I was 9 weeks, but the soonest I could be fitted in is just over 10 weeks- I'm sure that's fine though.

I've had quite a bit of mild cramping, more of a pain than a cramp, but it's worried me a lot over the weekend. I've read a lot though and there's plenty of evidence to say that's normal. I've not had any sickness yet- but my knockers are huge and very sore I had to buy a bigger bra at the weekend! My DF is loving it not that he's been allowed near them lately!!

We're getting married in July and decided to start trying 3 months before the wedding and it all just happened straight away! We feel so lucky!!

I'm a bag of nerves though! I hadn't realised, until I started reading this thread, how many people have early scans. Is that a common thing to have? And is anyone else getting cramps but no blood?

It's so daft but id love a bit of morning sickness to reassure me! do not want to be reminded of this comment if im puking my guts out in 2 weeks time!!
X

CraftyGirly · 28/05/2012 20:23

hi Wishful! I remember you from the May TTC thread (I think)!

I am also getting cramps, a bit milder than period cramps, but no blood. I have heard this is just your uterus stretching and changing position, no blood must be a good sign!

I have the midwife coming tomorrow morning for booking in appointment, I wont be having an early scan though as this is my first pregnancy so there's no reason to really. Plus I'd be a nervous wreck if there was no h/b just cause it was too early to hear!!

when's the wedding? :)

wishfulthinking1 · 28/05/2012 20:36

Hi crafty- I remember you too!!

Yes, am sure that no blood is a good sign. Tbh, I think I'm just completely neurotic and stressed already and all this talk of early scans made me feel like I was missing out on something!!

The weddings in july- ill be about 13 weeks so assuming hoping I'll still fit into my truly gorgeous wedding dress! I've told my boss and a couple of v.close friends but we've decided to try and not tell anyone (including mum and dad) until the day after the wedding. It'll be hard keeping it a secret- cant wait to tell them- they're going to be thrilled!!

Have you got much in the way of symptoms yet crafty?
