My dh actually deserves a medal today as I have spent nearly the entire day asleep and he has seen to all the ds', been shopping, is cooking tea as I type and washed all school uniforms. I seem to have these days every now and again where I'm sick with awful indigestion and the tiredness is overwhelming. Hoping it passes by tomorrow.

sicilianlemons · 20/05/2012 16:26

Hello all, I was just wondering whether anyone has suddenly 'lost' all their symptoms like me. I am 9 weeks tomorrow and suddenly dont have sore boobs or sickness. I'm extra paranoid because I have been having some cramps and spotting. I have managed to book a scan at my EPU tomorrow afternoon but in the meantime I am going slightly nuts with the worry.

itsMYNutella · 20/05/2012 16:40

Hello all, and please, please be gentle with me.

Well, my due date is 27/12 this is my first baby, totally unplanned and am 8+3. Lucky enough not to be sick, but I do burp (it's more like a noise a frog would make really) all day long which is nice....

It took a bit but OH and I are now over the shock and we're thrilled, but our combined baby knowledge (feels like; at the moment) amounts to which way up they should be Hmm

To say I'm terrified is close to the mark; I also live in Germany (OH is German... sweet love story, but not relevant here) so I'm also trying to figure out all the Doc's info in German.

anyway anyway anyway.... I'm really happy to have found you all on here!!!

whatmess · 20/05/2012 16:51

Welcome Nutella I can highly recommend a book I'm reading at the moment by Kaz Cooke called The rough guide to pregnancy and birth. I bought a second hand copy from amazon this time after someone lent me their copy when I had dd. It's so good, I'm reading it twice.
Lots of information but also lots of hilarious experiences which make it easy to read.

whatmess · 20/05/2012 16:54

Lemons No I haven't but it does not necessarily mean something is wrong. Symptoms can disappear any time from 8 weeks when the placenta takes over and your own hormones stop churning out at their previous rate. I had bleeding with my dd and all was fine, but good to get it checked out. I hope it all goes well.

itsMYNutella · 20/05/2012 17:14

thanks whatmess I also have two of the mumsnet books and have been really enjoying them! I will look up the book, thanks for the recommendation!

We got to have an early scan at our first appointment 7+4 and it was amazing; if a little uncomfortable - vaginal ultrasound... nuff said. but looking forward to the next one in just over 3 weeks :o

CupOfBrownJoy · 20/05/2012 17:51

ohohoh itsMYnutella I'm in Germany too, and a German DP!!! We're on DC1 and i'm 9+3 Grin

Where are you? (or pm me if you don't want to say Smile )

sicilianlemons · 20/05/2012 18:07

thanks whatmess, feel a bit calmer now. Roll on tomorrow. At this rate I think all my worrying might turn my hair completely white by the time I get to 12 weeks.

I was looking at those fetal heart monitors on Amazon. I've heard some can pick up a heart beat from about 9 and a half weeks. Has anyone used one? Don't particularly want to shell out lots of money but I'm thinking if they are any good, it might be worth it for the peace of mind.

appletiser · 20/05/2012 18:33

Hi all glad To ffind this thread on here - I'm
Due dec 29th having some good n bad days mainly due to tiredness n nausea. Was rather unexpected - ds is nearly 3 - I gained 20kg in my pregnancy with him and never got rid of it - so now finally had decided need to do something about it then ttc. Was on week 1 of my fitness regime with personal trainer and day one of diet when I jut had this gut feelin and did the test - hey presto!
But now I'm struggling as I can feel the weight gaining already and I just don't want to gain another 20kg- but struggling with gettiing to gym ! Need some advise here please !

Chloe55 · 20/05/2012 18:46

I was at weight watchers when I fell pregnant and they said I couldn't attend anymore Sad I have a feeling you may be able to do slimming world (which to be honest was a hell of a lot easier) whilst pregnant, I could be wrong though.

I am hoping I have turned a corner-the stodgy pork pie I had for tea nearly made me hurl and I immediately craved fruit just after (this has not happened for a couple of months now!) so I had a lovely fruit salad which was delicious Grin Finally I think my body is realising healthy food is gonna make me feel a lot better instead of the shite I have only been able to consume recently!

CupOfBrownJoy · 20/05/2012 18:49

yep you can definately do sw when you're pg. Not sure if you need to tell your doctor first?

mwahmwah · 20/05/2012 18:54

Omg I hav managed a full afternoon without my now normal sickness/ nausea/ knackeredness. Pls god let that be it over? Pretty please? Amazing to have a Normalish day. Hip hip hurrah! X

FriendofDorothy · 20/05/2012 19:15

You can definitely do SW. You just need to do it under supervision and with agreement of your midwife. I am still an online member. Not doing so well today though as I have seriously been on a toast fetish!

Cookiesandcream06 · 20/05/2012 19:47

strawberry and purple great news! So happy it went well with the fam.
blackcurrant and COD will join both you on how you're feeling, really hit by first hormones and then today cannot get out of bed with tiredness/lurgy. People say 'oh you're nearly 11 weeks you're at the final hurdle of the first tri you'll start feeling better soon* THIS CaNNOT COME SOON ENOUGH and it still Feels miles away?? It's putting real strain on relationship with DP, I really am horrific and useless ! and he's being great but still I pick and snap and just tell him he doesn't understand how I'm feeling.

WELCOME to more newbies Smile lovely to have you with us on this crazy journey.

Cookiesandcream06 · 20/05/2012 19:51

Oh and appletiser let me know how you get on with SW, I have been previously before children, and I put on a LOT of weight when pg with DD so now when I feel my clothes getting snug it is making me worry. but I don't really know how to go about it??

CODwidow · 20/05/2012 20:44

I'm still in my size 12's at the mo but I know I've put on a few pounds. I've got to be careful this time as I have a habit of putting on at least 3 stone with each pregnancy and then have to go through the hell of losing it so I'm determined this time. (says she sat here thinking of a cheese and ham toastie) Grin

smellsofsick · 20/05/2012 20:56

Evening everyone. Am I too late to join? Nine weeks or so with DC2 and probably due around DD's birthday.

Am currently craving Bombay mix. Or do we say Mumbai mix nowadays?

livismum · 20/05/2012 21:37

Welcome smells ooh Bombay mix might have to go get some tomorrow! I'm currently not wanting again whatever I've eaten that day. So got cupboards full of stuff I now don't want! I'm 8+2 so hopefully a few weeks and I'll be eating normally again. Smile

ivanapoo · 20/05/2012 21:48

Felt foul all day today and have been in bed all but a few hours... sorry for those who are also having crap ones but hooray for the ones having a bit of a better time!

I am according to first day of missed period (estimated date) 12 weeks today so hoping the symptoms will ease off soon...

Lemons my boobs are less sore than they were and I had bad cramping which has now passed, i am still tired and nauseous but symptoms have def changed a bit. I'm hoping it is just my hormones changing slightly and doesn't mean anything is up w the baby but I can understand your concerns - I woke DH up in middle of the night because my boobs didn't hurt as much a few weeks back!

Chloe55 · 20/05/2012 22:10

If anyone sneezes/gets up too quickly/rolls over etc do they get a serious stabbing pain in their side? I think it's due to the uterus stretching but don't remember it starting this soon with ds1, am already having to do the slow roll to the side and gently swing my legs out of bed whilst sitting up very slowly-I'm sure this didn't start til about 6mths gone last time!

FriendofDorothy · 20/05/2012 22:14

Oh I definitely get that! I was wondering if it was normal.

blackcurrants · 21/05/2012 02:32

oh yes - this is DC 2 for me and there's a lot more twangling Hmm and shifting that I remember from this early last time. Bloody hell. I'm going to look pregnant a LOT sooner, aren't I?
Buggerit. I'm supposed to be job hunting this month...

AwaketooLate · 21/05/2012 02:34

you're up late blackcurrants!

Walnut8 · 21/05/2012 07:03

welcome to all the other newbies, glad there are others joining at this late stage!

Glad some are starting to feel better. I wouldn't worry too much that symptoms are starting to change or lessen at this stage - my book says things like nausea are likely to ease off around wk 11.

glad to hear partners are being so supportive! I've been very negative and moody and I don't think my DH gets it that its to do with pregnancy and yes, i need a bit more help even if I'm not throwing up or don't have a huge bump yet etc etc. I personally think I do get a bit of mild AND because I remember last time about 3 weeks after i gave birth I suddenly felt amazing, so content and serene all the time and I realised how unhappy i had been during pregnancy.

Just putting it out there that i think citrus cravings mean you are having a girl...

CakeBump · 21/05/2012 07:16

ooh I'm sitting here with a glass of orange juice, Walnut, I wonder if you're right!?

Well talking about DP's being unsupportive, DP is being utterly unsupportive at the moment. I worked 10 hours on my feet to help him out in his business yesterday, then instead of having an early night with me he got drunk with his mates and behaved like a right idiot when he got in....

I'm waiting for the beast to awake to see what he's got to say for himself...

BTW its me, Cup, under a namechange :)
