Hi all,
Hoping to snare a few of you who has just found out the great news like me, to share the journey and have a big moan about all the lovely effects pregnancy has on us!
It's no.2 for me!

great news gils, do you have a hazy little bean picture?
also did you drink the whole 2 pints of water an hour before as they tell you to? i just don't know if i'll be able to hold on - i've got a long uphill walk to get there tomorrow and can see myself getting desperate on the way Blush

CupOfBrownJoy · 16/05/2012 17:45

Fantastic news gils Smile

Not in UK Clarella, no union and no rights. I'm an ex lawyer though too so if they want to be awkward I've got the time and the energy to be awkward too!

Hope everyone has a relaxing and uneventful evening Smile

KMBatfink · 16/05/2012 18:38

Hello everyone. Had my epu appt this morning and saw a healthy baby moving around and measuring exactly 11+2 which is what I should be. Amazing!

minipie · 16/05/2012 18:54

Great news gils and kmbatfink.

km, I too have spotting and like you (TMI) it's usually after a poo (blood is definitely from the front not the back though!)

Did the hospital have any idea why you are having spotting after pooing? I have asked my midwives and they are puzzled and just say go get an early scan (which I might do tomorrow).

Stacks · 16/05/2012 19:52

Pooing can cause the muscles in the vaginal wall to contract a bit like the intestine, so it's quite normal to have discharge while pooing (while ttc it makes it a good time to check for ewcm).

I don't know why anyone is spotting (obviously), but that's probably why you see it specifically at that time. There's likely too little blood/mucus to make its way down from the cervix (which I would think means your spotting is very, very light) so it's needs a little 'help' from the action of passing your bowels.

Hope that helps clear up some of the mystery.

brooke89 · 16/05/2012 20:41

Yay at all these good scans :o

How long does it usually take after booking in to get your 12 week one? I'm seeing midwife tomorrow - worried i've left it a bit late as will be 10 weeks!

Bellaboo123 · 16/05/2012 20:55

Great news on the positive scans! So pleased!
I'm also addicted to oranges and clementine juice...can't get enough!
10weeks tomorrow roll on the 2nd trimester!

CODwidow · 16/05/2012 21:06

Having a major panic/meltdown today about how I'm going to cope and give all my boys the attention they need/want. I'm really panicking and worrying about it and I'm sure it'll pass but very emotional today Sad

PrunellaDeVille · 16/05/2012 21:13

chin up COD, you know you'll take it in your stride, you're a pro already.
but allow yourself the odd meltdown it's good to let it out

Lifeonthecanal · 16/05/2012 21:23

Can I join please? I am 9+1 and expecting number 2. I am suffering very badly with 24 hour nausea (like I did last time) and just haven't felt happy about being pregnant at all. However yesterday I had a scan and saw my lovely baby swimming about and now feel more excited.

Am overseas and here they won't really give you anti-sickness meds so I am really really hoping that it won't last much longer as we are about to pack up and move to another country. The only advice my Dr gave me was to avoid bumpy roads and speed boats :o

Will add myself to the list when not on iPad. Look forward to getting to 'know' you all!

livismum · 16/05/2012 21:52

Hey COD I've been feeling bit wobbly about the complexities of having another too! Trying to remember what a wise mum at DD's school said when I said I was considering %233, she said u know when your family is complete and if u consider another DC you should go for it!
I might go to mothercare tomorrow and stalk some newborns to get me back in the mood! Grin

StrawberrytallCAKE · 16/05/2012 22:35

I forgot to come back and say thank you Clarella for the great info on slapped cheek. I have kept her in nursery and feel quite calm about it all.

Brooke, don't worry I'm 11+2 and not seeing midwife until Friday but got my scan date today for 30th May, mw doesn't seem too worried, although I have booked a private scan for nuchal on Saturday as I won't be offered one in my area.

My dsis has a beautiful little newborn so seeing her makes me forget any doubts too livis, get down mothercare too COD! I hope you're feeling better tomorrow, those rubbish days are no fun. X

ivanapoo · 16/05/2012 23:12

I'm 11+3 and still waiting for my scan date... So annoying! I never realised quite how impatient I was before all of this.

Haven't been craving oranges but watermelon all the way over here.

Goodnight all.

Chloe55 · 17/05/2012 06:48

Good news on the scan Grin

Welcome canal so does your name suggest you live on a barge and travel from city to city and if so tell me all about it, I'm intrigued! A friend if mine lives on a barge but she stays static-I never understood it-I'd love some days to just pack up and disappear for a bit Grin

gilsbubbles · 17/05/2012 08:14

prunella i drank a pint before going but arrived about 20mins early and had a bottle with me to keep sipping on. Got some great photos despite little bean being on his head and swimming around a lot

CupOfBrownJoy · 17/05/2012 09:10

To all you wobbly ladies - I'm still a wreck. In tears again this morning, this time about the fact that DP and I haven't dtd for a week. So so stupid but I just feel so down about all sorts of things. Cried in the shower....

I think DP is getting seriously worried/fed up with me.

Funnily enough, an hour later and I'm feeling right as rain! I can only hope that in the 2nd trimester this will all balance out a bit Sad

Clarella · 17/05/2012 09:56

Hi cup of - I'm similar. Had texts from my teaching assistant last night basically asking when I was coming back and to hurry up. I try to point out the risks to baby but can't tell her my concerns about how school are going to help through risk assessment and good monitoring as she is the sister of one of our deputies.I feel sick about going back with a lack of understanding, support and feeling like ill be a hassle asking for a risk assessment (even though its a legal requirement). It's in local nurseries so obviously around. I simply want to be treated like a professional and my babies' life to be respected. Waiting for a doc to call back - my anxiety is out of control now I don't know what is real concern or my paranoia. Really don't know who to to speak to at school to help me out.

PrunellaDeVille · 17/05/2012 10:31

more good news, despite almost total lack of symptoms LO is doing well and a couple of days further on than i'd thought. saw it kick back at the intrusion of the ultrasound! Grin
relief and disbelief in equal measures.
DH couldn't come sadly as he's working away so it was a pretty lonely experience. despite photos it'll be impossible to really get across to him the bizarre experience of seeing our own baby for the first time Sad
thanks gils i didn't down the full 2 pints and they didn't notice, had a pint and a half but it was still unpleasant leaving the house already feeling like i need to pee - i have a deeply ingrained belief from childhood that one must always go to the toilet before leaving the house!
hope all the scan dates come through asap for all those waiting

Clarella · 17/05/2012 10:54

Phew calmer after very good chat with a jolly doctor. Explained fit to work notes which could include risk assessment which would simply make me feel like I don't have to run around doing the ground work and defending myself.

Clarella · 17/05/2012 10:56

That's brilliant prunella! My tummy has actually shrunk so few symptoms! Shame about DH, hopefully he can be there for the next one xx

CupOfBrownJoy · 17/05/2012 11:07

Good to hear Clarella, I hope you get what you need from the school...

CODwidow · 17/05/2012 11:35

Feeling a little better today, thank you to everyone's messages. I'm reassured to see others are having the same so I think it's just hormonal and I'm always struggling with the 'fatter' stage where my bellies now growing but not a bump yet so clothes are tight. I think I may have to do some baby window shopping Grin

PurplePidjin · 17/05/2012 11:47

Glad to hear some more positive news!

I'm on my 2nd dose of fluey bug in 2 weeks, guess my immune system must be really screwed. Bizarrely, despite letting them down last minute several times, the agency are still on at me with jobs Confused

Hi all, more good news here Smile I had an early scan today (another one Blush) as recommended by midwives due to my bleeding... All fine, heartbeat still going strong and embryo measures about the right size for dates (a tiny bit on the small side but within normal range). Phew! They don't know where the blood is coming from but no sign of it internally. I reckon it's from my cervix.

Just got to make it to my 12 week scan now which is in a week's time.

I am knackered today. Desperately want to run home to bed.
