Hope it goes well pidgin! X

kateand2boys · 19/05/2012 10:58

Pidgin good luck today, I'm sure it will al be fine.

Feel OK this morning, I'm only 9+2 or 5, so little one is still safely tucked away in my pelvis. No bleeding or pain, so I'm sure all is fine.

I've booked a private dating scan for next Sunday, couldn't wait any longer as my Nuchal scan isn't until 13/6.

Chloe You should get yourself checked out, I think ketones in your urine is not good. Handy that you have a vet to check you out though.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 19/05/2012 11:15

I've just come back from the nuchal scan and there's an actual baby in there that kicks with arms and legs and a head!! It was a bit overwhelming and I found out my uterus is tilted?? Didn't find this out with dd? Had to have a trans-vaginal scan as the picture wasn't good due to odd uterus. Last time I had the internal scan the thing they put in was quite large and uncomfortable but this one was just a little stick so much easier to cope with. Blush

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I will upload the pictures later.

CODwidow · 19/05/2012 12:05

Just checking in at 10+3, told all of dh's family yesterday and they were all really happy so that was nice. Dragged dh round mother care earlier to have a little look at prams Smile

Just realised my scan is in half term at 9:20 am so may have to change it unless I can find a sitter that early, wouldn't mind if it bought it forward but it may mean waiting even longer!

MyDaydream · 19/05/2012 13:26

Good luck today pidjin.
I'm dying to tell people now, I saw both my mum and dad this week, my dad even asked if we were thinking about trying for another baby since my MC and I did a very non-committal shrug, I just can't lie! Can't wait to be able to tell them.
I did a shop today with loads of fruit in, I just can't get enough.

blackcurrants · 19/05/2012 13:46

Mmn, fruit. Am scoffing watermelon as I type, which is a bit sticky and messy but SO GOOD. It's hot here and watermelon straight from the fridge is just the BEST.

Am over (I sincerely hope!) the worst of the sickness, I think. Roll on week 10! THe second trimester can't come soon enough, IMHO.

Chloe55 · 19/05/2012 14:45

Great news on the scan strawberry Smile

I am struggling at work, had some respite from the suckers for a few days but seems it is back in time for weekend Sad

Clarella, yes parrots do get chlamydia and it's zoonotic (can pass to humans) but shows itself with different clinical signs to us, depression, respiratory problems, diarrhoea etc. Bet you all really wanted to know that didnt you? Grin

Chloe55 · 19/05/2012 14:45

Sickness, not suckers lol!

Queenofsiburbia · 19/05/2012 15:54

Hello all!

Long time no chat as have been on belated honeymoon Yeay!!! Honestly, being away from cooking/kitchen/supermarket completely cured my MS. It's returned with a vengeance since touchdown in the UK sadly. Hard to be back in siburbia. I know I should not say it but I loath the south east of England. Ugly and overcrowded (like a hobbit, I'm from a good midland shire and miss those blue hills).

Terribly sorry to hear of those who had bad news. A few friends have been thru it and it is so sad. All have gone on to have big bouncy babies since though. Hugs to all.

My update re 'the fig' (current fruit related comparison on sprout app) is that I was right and Doc wrong... I AM due in December rather than nov (I knew I was right to join you guys!!).list amended below; rather strange not to be at the top!
I went for scan yesterday and instead of 12 weeks I'm 11 weeks. Annoying because of the interminable nausea. But DH pleased because he can come to rescheduled scan (he was at Lords yesterday - cricket not House Of). Which I was livid fine about as knew I would get BIG bunch of flowers...

Nope, just a beery kiss.

Despite my giant grump last night, DH has decided I'm calmer pregnant than normal as no PMT. Will work on that ;-)

Good luck everyone below with getting through the first Trimester...! Apparently it gets bigger and better from here onwards. I hope so!

Bye bye I've gotta run toodleloo!!! Grrr Grit teeth and think of lemons.

Ps, I just watched vw ad about the girl growing up, made me cry too. In a nice way :-)

ooh livismum I haven't seen the VW ad as I'm in the USA. Do you think I should google it? Does the world hold enough kleenex?! :)

KMBatfink · 19/05/2012 20:07

Minipie - Tried to respond to your question the other day but my phone kept getting rid of my comments so decided to wait till I was on the computer. The consultant who did my scan didn't seem too bothered by the bleeding once he had seen the viable pregnancy. He just said they don't like to see bleeding but sometimes it just happens.

Cookiesandcream06 · 19/05/2012 21:21

Lovely news on the scan strawberry.
I hope it went ok today purple I had a quick look on here earlier and I was thinking of you today!

I am still a complete emotional/hormonal wreck and horrible to live with. Been so run down with a bad cold for two weeks now and antibiotics arent really working wonders. Currently 10+3/4 (literally too tired to count days on my fingers) and even now 2nd tri feels years away. Knowing I've still got nearly 3 weeks till my scan isn't helping.

Oh well an early night for grumpy old me. Sad

Really hope everyone is feeling a bit better, and in good spirits on this Saturday night.

PurplePidjin · 19/05/2012 22:17

She looked like this for about 30 seconds. It was absolutely brilliant :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

ivanapoo · 19/05/2012 22:49

Haha Purple, take it that's your mum not your cat when you told her?

Happy shocked or just gobsmacked?

PurplePidjin · 19/05/2012 23:01

I told my mum straight away. Tonight, on her 91st birthday, I released the news to my Gran and the wider family.

I was worried because, much as they love dp, I wasn't sure if the daily mail racism would cause an outbreak of foot in mouth!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 20/05/2012 10:08

Thanks Chloe and cookies

Were they pleased for you pidjin?

Shhh don't tell anyone but I think the weather is going to get much better next week, time to get some vit d and fresh air for your nausea and ms. :)

I found out I do not have immunity to slapped cheek but the dr didn't seem too bothered, he said the risk is small if I'm just taking dd in and picking her up from pre-school. He did say I could have another test in 4 weeks just to check.

One day I think someone will make a portable, affordable ultrasound system for mums to be and they will make millions. I imagine it to look like an old black and white gameboy.

CupOfBrownJoy · 20/05/2012 10:13

Strawberry I almost hope they don't make one of those as I'd never leave the house! I'd drive DP nuts having a look every 5 minutes Grin

Pidjin I hope telling the family went well

The sun has been out here and my hormones seem to have levelled out int he last couple of days. DP and I have been spending some quality time together and I'm feeling much better....

PurplePidjin · 20/05/2012 10:33

They were absolutely thrilled, we made an old lady very very happy :o

nasara · 20/05/2012 10:58

Talking about ads - the one that gets me every time is the Renault one, where man meets woman, woman has a young son, man isn't sure if it's too much to deal with, man and woman and boy make a happy family - oh God, it is bringing tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 20/05/2012 10:59

They will make it portable cup don't worry.

That's brilliant Pidjin

CODwidow · 20/05/2012 12:20

Well it's official I cannot eat oranges! They make me sooo sick Sad
Feeling really rubbish this weekend I think I could have just slept since friday night.

blackcurrants · 20/05/2012 13:02

Well, I'm having a weepy morning (no laughing, I do mean sad rather than just explosively weepy, as per usual).
DH gets up with DS both weekend mornings now, so I get an extra hour in bed, which is wonderful as the tireder I am the sicker I am. So I came down at about 6.45 because I heard DS crying, and basically his last molars are coming in and he's being a right pain. Everything he asks for is thrown away in a strop, no, not that cereal, no, not that spoon, no, not that puzzle... and DH was being a saint but I could see it was getting to him and he hadn't have his coffee yet and I was feeling sick as I forgot to take crackers up to bed with me, and basically it was stress strop strain until DH bundled the boy and the dog into the car and drove them both off to the park about 10 minutes ago. And now I am in a blessedly peaceful house having a cry because (1) DH is doing so much more with DS which is tough, I'm sure he'd like an extra hour in bed, and I feel guilty (2) DS is clearly in so much pain, and he's barely eating and he'd be so much nicer if he ate something substantial (3) I'm not spending as much time as I want to with DS because I have to move slowly in the mornings or I'm sick and (4) I have no idea how I will manage a toddler and a newborn.

Sob, sob, sob. Everything is fine really, I can't believe I'm crying because DH is so supportive when other people are struggling on their own. I just feel guilty and useless.
Bloody hormones.

EggsMichelle · 20/05/2012 13:07

CODwidow i'm also feeling incredibly crap this weekend, I have spent the entire day in my PJs burping on the sofa. Everything I eat smells bad, except galaxy chocolate. I am currently a Diablo widow so my DH is still asleep and not waiting on me!

CupOfBrownJoy · 20/05/2012 13:26

aww blackcurrants the best thing to do is let it all out Sad

It won't last forever, remember the MN saying "this too shall pass"?!

(((hugs)))

blackcurrants · 20/05/2012 14:26

Heh, thanks - it's already better, DS has eaten another morsel, I've got something down and now he and DH are reading digger-based books happily on the sofa.
Annnd breathe!
