What sort of lemon juice stacks? Would squash do? I find lollies help a bit. I'm still ages off second trimester seems like it will never come!

Stacks · 11/05/2012 13:33

I buy the Tesco/Sainsbury/Co-op own brand fresh juice, like you find everywhere on pancake day. They usually put it near any baking things, and it's about 50p a bottle. I add about a teaspoon to a pint of water, or add it to shop bought mineral water. Tastes good, has hardly any sugar in, and really helps with nausea.

Actual fresh lemons squeezed into water is nice too, but too much fuss for in work.

nasara · 11/05/2012 14:40

Trying to keep up with this thread is hard work!

strawberryTC I also had some cells removed from my cervix - I wonder if I need to mention it - well, I will anyway at my booking in next week! Got the same mw as last time - I'm already bracing myself for her 100mph monologues/tangents.

Anyone else feel like they are wishing May away? I just want it to be June!

Olivetti · 11/05/2012 16:08

Hi everyone - thanks for all your supportive messages. I had a scan this morning, and it's all fine! Must have been one-off spotting, because it has cleared up. Measurements are matching dates, I am 8+3. xx

blackcurrants · 11/05/2012 16:26

I've found a slice of lemon or orange in my water is helping me, too, Stacks

And Saphies I am also trying to wean my DS from the boob - he's asking less now and I have an only-at-bedtime rule, we'll sometimes even go a night or two without feeding, then it starts again Hmm I'm determined to get some time OFF before DC2 arrives!
I am feeling less sick than I was last week. Eating peanut butter on cheese biscuits in bed before I even sit up in the morning has helped me. I do feel a bit bonkers going to bed with a snack, though! And OH GOD YES to the fast food cravings. I've had three McD's meals in the last 2 weeks, which is more than I think I've even fancied all year before now! DH is doing well with the whole thing, he came back from the supermarket with lots of burger buns and made some lovely homemade burgers which he then froze so I can have one whenever I want! mmn red meat...

minipie · 11/05/2012 16:28

hooray olivetti! phew. excellent news.

On the subject of scans, I had my booking in appt today and I mentioned I have already had 2 scans due to bleeding but the bleeding has continued since then (though just spotting). The midwife said I should go for another early scan tomorrow Shock

Thing is, the sonographer last time basically said no more scans unless there's loads of blood. Would it be wrong to go for another one? I do feel like I'm getting more than my fair share. But the midwife said I should... Confused

minipie · 11/05/2012 16:29

oh and Envy of anyone whose skin has got better. Mine has got far, far worse Sad

Olivetti · 11/05/2012 16:33

thanks mini. If the midwife has recommended it, I think you should take it! hope you are feeling ok.

My skin is rank! I look like I've been raised from the dead. Also have the junk food addiction - Greggs today Blush Blush

Stacks · 11/05/2012 17:25

mini I would go along for the scan, if anyone says anything about it, just shrug your shoulders and act like the MW 'forced' you to go. :)

My skin has also got worse recently. :(

minipie · 11/05/2012 17:34

thanks both. I think I will go. DH has just told me he's away for my 12 week scan date unfortunately, so that's another reason to go tomorrow, if it's going to be bad news I'd rather get it when he is here.

sorry to hear you are having skin ishoos too but slightly glad I'm not alone I think I need to drink much more water probably.

Olivetti · 11/05/2012 17:45

good luck mini - let us know how you get on

SpottyTeacakes · 11/05/2012 18:07

Great news Olivetti Smile

I also seem to break out in spots when pregnant oh the joys!

PurplePidjin · 11/05/2012 18:22

11 weeks today and feeling less sick - the end is in sight!

Scan in 11 days, I can't wait Grin

Olivetti · 11/05/2012 18:29

Thanks Spottyteacakes. I think I saw you on a late walkers thread - do you mind me asking how your DD is getting on now? Mine is 18 months on Wednesday and still wobbly!! Still knee-walks quite a bit.

SpottyTeacakes · 11/05/2012 18:38

Well.... She is nearly 23 months and finally walking GrinGrinGrin just in time for our holiday, she must have sensed the urgency!

mwahmwah · 11/05/2012 18:41

My 20 month old boy isn't walking at all! Bum shuffles from a to b, bugger on nice clean trews! X

Olivetti · 11/05/2012 18:47

Yay, spotty!!! Grin Grin

mwahmwah, I think "late" walking is far more common than the books would have us believe!!

Anyway, sorry guys, mustn't hijack thread. Just goes to prove the worry never ends!! xx

SpottyTeacakes · 11/05/2012 18:48

Apparently 22/23 months is average for bum shufflers. Dd has hypermobility so she still can't get onto her feet from the floor without pulling on something. I really thought she was never going to walk though!

CODwidow · 11/05/2012 18:55

Ok so 9+2 and my tummy has expanded today! Sure it's just all the total rubbish I've been eating so not good. Now the major hunger has calmed down I must resist the junk food Grin

I have the really watery mouth and metal taste back which makes eating unpleasant anyway.

Still no scan date Sad

pleasebethismonth · 11/05/2012 19:35

so much for the ms easing off, i'm 11+1 and the last three nights have been horrendous! Enough already!!!

My skin is very bad too!

On the plus side, scan in 6 days!! Hopefully my dates will be bang on then i'll be 12 weeks too!!

Brilliant news on the good scan results Olivetti!

My dd was a bum shuffler too and she found it really hard to pull herself up which meant she was fairly late walking too.

Oh and my stomach looks enormous! Could there be two???????

ellliebelle · 11/05/2012 19:59

o my god being pregnant with 2 young dd's is hard work :( i have no patience with them and then feel all guilty for snapping at them :(

when you throw into the mix the fact that im a childminder and at some points today i have had 5 children to look after i am absolutely worn out thank god its friday...

SpottyTeacakes · 11/05/2012 20:02

Oh ellie you must be exhausted! Im struggling with just the one! Have an early night Smile

CODwidow · 11/05/2012 20:12

ellie I'm with you I had my ds plus a friends 2 boys today one being only 10 months and then at 3pm had to pick my other 3 up so tired is an understatement today.
Also is anyone else suffering with a really sore lower back yet, mine is killing today.

Cookiesandcream06 · 11/05/2012 22:47

ellie I know exactly what you mean- yes DD is hard work at times but she's been really pushing me and I've been really snappy with her. TBF DP is getting it worse than her! Yup I'm still a bitch.

I do not know how any of you are looking after other children as well as your own?! You deserve a medal in my books.

Also- whinge alert- this cold is going nowhere, still exhausted, I'm coughing all over the place, which then pulls muscles in my stomach, I'm really really short of breath all the time, I'm so bloated none of my clothes fit and I dont look pregnant - just fat. Had to see the nurse for some bloods today and she was a complete cow bag. Ahh I'm so sorry, it's out of my system now I promise Blush pathetic pity moan. I'm disappointed in myself Sad

Chloe55 · 12/05/2012 07:43

I was a childminder in my last pregnancy, not fun, but then neither is vet nursing with all the animal smells and even worse garlic breathed clients bleurghhh.

Cod I have had quite a lot of backpain too, think a lot of it is due to being on my feet all day-it's much worse at work.

Booked a private scan in for 24th may when I think I will be 11+6. there was no way I could wait til 11th June, thankfully dh is in complete agreement Smile I'm
also at a wedding on 26th may so will be nice to be officially 'out'.

Nausea still hideous Sad I can't stop gipping which is making my stomach muscles kill now. Boobs still very sore but that's a reassurance I actually don't mind.

Great news on the scan olivetti Smile
