Babyno3tobe · 06/05/2012 21:40

Evening all, sorry to hear of the ladies who are having a bad time of it keeping my fingers crossed for you and I hope it's all just spotting.

Anyone feeling completely uncomfortable? I feel like a full term pg woman just can't get comfy at all thought I'd started to feel better but nope bk to feeling pants think I'm in for a long agonising pregnancy but on a plus I'm gonna take up knitting and crochet lol (old before my time) to keep me busy, iv got my own online business but iv put it all on hold ATM and undecided what to do iv been booked to appear at a Casio to promote my brand as well as a magazine shoot in June/July I was really looking forward to it but now I'm feeling so rotten I may have to ask my sister if she can help but she has her own salon so is quite busy with that herself what should I do? Iv agreed to go still cause its a great thing for the business I just feel like giving someone else the responsibility a bit like go on mat leave for a yr any advice? Sorry completely off topic lol

backwardpossom · 06/05/2012 21:52

:( Kiwi, hope all is ok. I've had some slightly redder blood tonight too and am starting to think things are not right at all. I don't know what to do. I live quite far from the hospital and DS is in bed. DH is here, but if I had to go to the hospital, I'd want him to come too but what do we do with DS? :(

CODwidow · 06/05/2012 22:28

Oh no backward, maybe try getting hold of your epu tomorrow morning hopefully they'll help. Fingers crossed it settles.

backwardpossom · 07/05/2012 09:48

Hmm, I don't get what's going on at all. Think I overreacted a bit last night - it was slightly redder, but not red really. It all settled down again overnight and I've had a wee smear of brown when I wiped this morning. I'll still phone the hospital in a bit, but I kind of feel like I'm wasting their time. Which I know is ridiculous as that's what they're there for, but I've always been the kind of person who wont go to the doctors unless I actually am dying... Hmm

PurplePidjin · 07/05/2012 09:53

Reassurance is never a waste of time, possum.

CODwidow · 07/05/2012 09:54

Backward I know what you mean I hardly ever visit the doctors but might be worth a ring just to give you reassurance if nothing else

Stacks · 07/05/2012 10:31

Morning everyone. Been ages since I posted on here, just too tired for MN these days. Really sorry to hear about all the spotting scares, I hope everyone gets some reassurance soon from their mw/epu/a&e.

Still dont have much to talk about here, the weeks are passing slowly with very little changes. Still no proper ms, tired all the time, and no bump at all. Still just waiting for that 12 week scan.

backwardpossom · 07/05/2012 11:24

I phoned the epu and they've made me an appointment for tomorrow morning. She didn't seem too concerned but thought it best to get checked over. Any ideas what I should expect at the appointment?

NaomiRuth · 07/05/2012 11:52

Hello,

Sorry to hear about those of you having scares. I hope you can get it checked out and all is ok.

I saw the midwife on Friday for a first appointment. Just filled a couple of forms and sent requests for scans. Got proper booking in appt in 3 weeks. So relieved as midwife was lovely and I'll be seeing her whole way through.

Tiredness is still very bad, feeling exhausted and wanting to go to bed really early. Had nausea in the mornings from yesterday (6 wks exactly) but no sickness. Petrified if I do as I have a 1 hr commute to London every day and can't face being sick on a train!!

Hope everyone has a good bank holiday!

CODwidow · 07/05/2012 12:17

Backward they'll probably do a scan to see what's going on and if need be an internal one but probably best to go with a bottle of water as they'll need you to have a full bladder. X

Clarella · 07/05/2012 15:42

Oh dear so sorry to hear about spotting, keeping everything crossed for you ladies Xxx

FriendofDorothy · 07/05/2012 17:18

I have just done a 20km charity walk and now I can hardly move. My hips hurt so much it is unbelievable!

kateand2boys · 07/05/2012 17:19

So sorry to hear about all those who are having worries, typical that this happens not just at the weekend, but a bank holiday to boot. I don't have any advice to offer, but thinking good thoughts for you all Smile

We went to DH's parents for the weekend and told them the news. My darling FIL pulled this face Shock for a full minute and then shook his head as if he was trying to get water out of his ears Grin DH described his face as 'stunned mullet' MIL's reaction was similar, but she seemed to recover from the shock quicker. They were very pleased 'though and have been straight on the phone to my mum and dad to discuss going halves on a pram (they are close friends) and to talk about how they had all taken the news. I feel like my dad is still 'shaking the water from his ears'.

Still struggling with the nausea, but not actually been sick although there have been a few close calls.

I recently switched from Boots conception support to Boots pregnancy support vitamins and although looking at the ingredients they are basically them same, I find it much harder to choke the new ones down. Anyone else struggling with their supplement?

kateand2boys · 07/05/2012 17:20

FOD you walked 20km!!!!! Wow, good for you! Who were you raising money for, if you don't mind me asking?

FriendofDorothy · 07/05/2012 17:25

It's this walk - raising money for 5 charities including my sister's charity.

I have taken paracetamol but don't think I can use Tiger Balm or Deep Heat which are my usual muscle remedies :(

Clarella · 07/05/2012 18:04

I was dithering over tiger balm and I'm sure the pharmacist said deep heat was ok - I just hate it! I think tiger is a no no or at least one sort is.

Clarella · 07/05/2012 18:06

I have now eaten deep fried brie n cranberry (quick Google mid chew) to find its ok and parma ham to find its sort of not.

Clarella · 07/05/2012 18:07

Massive respec on the walk! Xx

Chloe55 · 07/05/2012 18:26

Ooh deep fried Brie is ok? That might be on my list of things to eat when my appetite returns-good news is at least I have kept the food down I have eaten today, a few gippy moments but no actual throw up Smile

Shock to the walk! I think that would kill me right now!!

I am further along than my last pregnancy got to which was my first milestone Smile

FriendofDorothy · 07/05/2012 18:42

My aunt, who is a retired midwife, seems to think that my hips probably hurt so much because of all the oestrogen which makes things looser.

PurplePidjin · 07/05/2012 18:55

When I was swimming yesterday, my (swimming teacher) friend says you should take things gently because your ligaments relax and soften. I also read somewhere that the wall of your bowel relaxes which is why we get bunged up?

YikesHereWeGo · 07/05/2012 19:06

oh gawd, spotting here too, last three times I went to the loo (tmi). Managed to get 9.5 weeks along with no ms and no spotting at all and now this. Felt slightly crampy earlier today, but not too bad. Gonna keep an eye on it and try to remain calm. It's really hard to know how much blood is 'normal' isn't it?! I've got my 12 week scan in 2.5 weeks. My boyf and I keep telling ourselves that if it's meant to be it's meant to be and there's nothing we can do anyway if it goes wrong. So I guess apart from reassurance there's nothing really the epu/a&e could do? Just have to keep my fingers crossed and watch more crappy tv for distraction...

backwardpossom · 07/05/2012 19:21

Hugs, Yikes It's such a worry. x

mwahmwah · 07/05/2012 20:40

Possum, hope u and ur lo are ok. At the epu they take a pee sample, ask for ur pad (bleurgh), either do an internal scan or a normal one. Sometimes internal if ur pretty early on as it picks up what they need quicker.
I had early scans with both previous pregnancies and the midewives are brilliant. They'll talk u through their findings and hopefully all will be well. Thinking of u xxx
