I was really ill with DD so was induced four weeks early, I think I'm just envious of people who have 'nice' births!

I got breakfast in bed this morning so have got out of bed not feeling sick, I think I will do this from now on.

SpottyTeacakes · 05/05/2012 08:18

Oh Happy Birthday Strawberry I hope you enjoyed your meal :)

PurplePidjin · 05/05/2012 09:29

The only person I know who gave birth recently had a 10.15 baby on gas and air.

I'm absolutely terrified Shock

pleasebethismonth · 05/05/2012 09:43

Happy Birthday Strawberry!

I totally agree that Labour is not always bad. I didn't struggle with the pain, just quite tired as I had two nights of false Labour before hand! I would happily go through an extra Labour and skip the pregnancy bit!

SpottyTeacakes · 05/05/2012 09:48

I think it's OK for most people, especially the majority of people I know Smile

MyDaydream · 05/05/2012 10:18

Hope you had a good birthday Strawberry. I'll be sitting at home with my legs crossed for mine as it's so close to my due date I don't want to give baby any ideas about appearing early!
I'm totally unsure about labour, I'm the first person in my group to have a baby so the only person I have to talk to it about is my mum, who's advice for labour has always been "take whatever they offer you".

CODwidow · 05/05/2012 11:51

I dont mind the 2nd trimester but hate the others and I'm also someone who doesnt mind labour although my last baby was 9lb 10oz and really hoping for a smaller baby this time as by 2 months it was like having a 6 month old! Smile

mwahmwah · 05/05/2012 12:33

2 births and an episiotomy for me with no more than gas and air. Yep its not that bad :o I was lucky in general, just 6 hours of labour, fully dilated with both by time I got to hospital. I agree with those who say its about getting in the zone, yep its feckin agony, yep you feel like your fanjita will never be the same again,... and yep i'm on number 3 so it can't be that bad!anyone got any FUNNY labour stories?

with ds a student was getting to grips with the placenta, hit a blood vessel or something, blood literally ALL over her face and hair! It was like a horror film, she literally turned tail and made for the door... Oops, think I might have put her off her career... Xxx

SpottyTeacakes · 05/05/2012 12:49

Oh when the consultant was stitching me up he was telling me how tired he was........ and I actually felt sorry for him!!

Babyno3tobe · 05/05/2012 13:25

Happy birthday strawberry hope you had a fan birthdaySmile

I agree some labours are lovely and straight forward and some can be bad but we all feel the love once the lo is in our arms my 1st 2 were horrific and although this one was an accident it was an early one we decided to wait another 5 yrs but didn't work that way and I'm happy to do it all again so it's def worth it. That lil person you have made will be the only thing that's on your mind, I even said straight after my 1st through the screaming I can't wait to have another best accomplishment in life

Babyno3tobe · 05/05/2012 13:29

Fab* sorry auto correct

SeymoreButts · 05/05/2012 13:42

Happy Birthday Strawberry!

My labours were totally different so I've really got no idea what to expect this time. The way I see it, I am going to have to give birth and I will have no control over what happens during the act, so why spend 9 months stressing about the inevitable?! You just have to do what feels right at the time. That's what I'm repeating to myself anyway....

Babyno3tobe · 05/05/2012 14:56

Just curious has anyone got a bump yet? I had an instant bump that appeared over night lol had same happen with my 2nd luckily I'm house bound so can keep it hidden from public for now

MyDaydream · 05/05/2012 15:20

Not here, just a wibbly tummy as always. Hoping it means I can keep it a secret as long as possible.

I'm massively craving smoothies and tea, had gone off it but over the last few days I've been really into it again, it's really hard to stick to 2 cups.

blackcurrants · 05/05/2012 15:27

I've been wearing my trousers with an elastic band looped around the button hole for a few days now, Baby - it's my second and I'm a bit dismayed by how quickly I'm puffing up! I need to find a job next month and I'd sooner not doing looking pregnant!
Luckily I'm a bit fat and so maybe I'll just look porky for a while, lol!

Chloe55 · 05/05/2012 15:44

Despite losing 11lbs so far due to forcing food down and puking I don't fit into my jeans-doesn't look bumpy though, still just flabby but girthier! Grin

ellliebelle · 05/05/2012 16:41

hope you had a fab birthday strawberry my birtjdays in september so will be dropping lots of hints for pressi's similar to yours :)

i found labour not too bad either time to be honest with you although i know that doesnt guarantee the same this time round i am definately hoping for a home birth though.

im jealous of those of you with scans this month mine isnt till 21st june :( we do go on holiday 2 weeks on wed though so hopefully time will go quick :)

CODwidow · 05/05/2012 16:44

No bump yet, weighed myself yesterday and not put anything on yet so quite happy about that. Didn't really show at all with my others til 14-16 weeks so hoping this is the same.

NarcolepsyQueen · 05/05/2012 16:44

Happy Birthday Strawberry Thanks

I had an early scan on Friday. She said that I look 5-6 weeks rather than 7. This means that either I missed an AF (2 week cycle) or that my Pip has stopped growing. Got to wait 2 weeks to find out.

PurplePidjin · 05/05/2012 17:53

Fingers crossed, Narco!

My mum reckoned I was looking rounder of tum yesterday, dp was skeptical last night but changed his mind this morning Shock

CODwidow · 05/05/2012 17:56

Keeping my fingers crossed for you narco

SpottyTeacakes · 05/05/2012 19:09

Also keeping my fingers crossed for you Narco

I feel so sick today and have been horrible to dd and dp Sad

cherrypiew3 · 05/05/2012 19:17

Happy Birthday Strawberry hope you have had a good day.Smile

Narco Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I am really struggling to post on here lately the sickness is so bad just looking at the screen makes my head funny and results in me puking. Spoke to the midwife for the first time today she told me to go back to the gp about the sickness. Have booking in appointment for 25th she is on holiday for the next 2 weeks.

Hope everyone is feeling well.

Saphiesgirl · 05/05/2012 20:28

Fingers crossed for you Narco and my thoughts with everyone who's suffering sickness- forget the morning bit!

I'm really struggling with exhaustion still but not helped by my 2yo ds who's got tummy bug- no sleep for any of us 3 nights now!

My tummy seems slightly smaller than last week ( bubbles aplenty- ahem) but thankfully that's passed!!! Seeing midwife on tue for first appointment- can't wait!

Magic69 is it you due 26th? Think we have same due date!

Babyno3tobe · 05/05/2012 22:44

I was told by a mw after having one child the abdomen has already been stretched so on some woman future pregnancies will show sooner, although with my 2nd I was ahead on measurements up till 27wks then regulated and dropped down to under but ds2 was perfect size.

Keepin my fingers crossed your lo is ok x

I'm now starting to feel better iv been sofa bound for the past 3wk with severe dizziness and stomach tenderness and migraines but had a horrible bug on my scan date wed and been feelin lots better since, so just the migraine to tackle.

Gotta say iv gotta have a magnum every night and huge cravings for fast food (not my usual selections) can't get enough of greasy food now I'm gonna be the size of a house
