NQ I would have been mortified of I'd thrown up in front of my class. I did faint though Blush I came to with my classroom assistant and little 5 and 6 year old faces hovering over me.

Purple I started with reusable's, but when I went back to work I switched to disposables, but used Nature Boy and Girl as they were degradable and oil free.

Strawberry so Envy you must be in lovely warm sunshine and it's freezing here today.

Stacey No heartburn yet, but with ds2 I carried Gaviscon in my handbag and got through about 4 big packs a week.

Twobecome I've had lots of cramping and twinges, but feel very sick, so I assume all is OK.

Can't face the thought of a drink, I feel hungover as it is. I had nothing when I was pregnant with the first 2 so won't this time either, despite a girls weekend in Brighton coming up.

We've decided to sell our caravan, as we aren't using it enough and we need a new car. So we spent today emptying all our stuff out and tomorrow we are going to ebay it. Unfortunately, every time I bend down I feel like puking and there was a lot of bending down. I am now in bed while my lovely DH makes a dinner I probably won't eat. I'm finding it so hard to eat and am very tearful today, I also slept for 11 hours last night. I didn't even wake when DH got up or when the DS's came wandering in and out and they are hardly twinkle toes Hmm

I'd forgotten how much early pregnancy disagrees with me. Roll on the second trimester.

mwahmwah · 28/04/2012 18:37

That sounds awful Kate! I myself normally start the really bad sickness around the 7 wk mark so am wondering why I feel so well. Hmmm. Was signed off work at 8 wks with dd for 20 weeks it was awful. With ds the sickness was always there but not as debilitating, had a stroke with him in my last trimester tho so I made up for having no sick leave at the start of the pregnancy!

Gaviscon was my no.1 companion both times, already got a bit if heartburn - must be the hormones I reckon, nasty little blighters :-( x

Chloe55 · 28/04/2012 19:01

Well my symptoms have been on and off today and been getting period pain cramps-cue lots of worrying (I'm about 8wks) felt sick as a dog last week-I actually don't know how I managed to function and get into work!

Jealous of the holiday Envy

kateand2boys · 28/04/2012 19:22

Mwah You had a stroke!!!! Puts my morning sickness into perspective. I did manage some dinner. DH is very pleased with me, I don't think he looks forward to my usual first trimester weight loss plan Blush

mwahmwah · 28/04/2012 19:38

Yep, famed for the way I sail through pregnancy without a blip... Not... The end result makes it all worthwhile though xxx

Hi

Just checking in as not posted for ages. I've skimmed the thread.
I'll be having the nuchal- would rather be prepared and would think about it if I didn't have it.
Had my booking in (uneventful) not seeing midwife now till 16 weeks- is this standard or cause I'm low risk?!
Also booked a holiday- near Biarritz in June.

Sorry to hear about the pregnancy loss and hope all goes well for those who've had spotting.

I'm feeling sicker than last pregnancy but haven't been sick. Just a travel sick feeling that comes and goes.

My best news is I caved and paid for an early scan, all fine heart beating and I'm a week further ahead than thought! Explains the strong positive! So I'm now due on 4th. I'll change it when get a chance (usually on phone)

ellliebelle · 28/04/2012 21:07

hi all hope your enjoying the weekend im in a bit of tiz i need new jeans the only pair i had now have holes in :( so went shopping today only ones i liked are £40 and im umming and ahhing as to whether i want to spend thatcmuch when they prob wont fit in a few weeks time dh said to go get maternity jeans but not sure i feel i can when im only 5/6 weeks argggg what to do...

also told my mum today which i was very nervous about as she has been very negative about us having a 3rd child in the past it went ok though and glad its over with :)

ellliebelle · 28/04/2012 21:07

wow what a rant....

cashmere · 28/04/2012 21:45

Try Dorothy Perkins or h and m for jeans that start at £15-20. I wore maternity trousers to work this week, my bump (bloatedness!) makes my usual ones a bit tight.

You can always wear non maternity ones after you have baby, you'll prob be a bit bigger but ready to wear 'normal' clothes.

KMBatfink · 28/04/2012 21:47

I ended up buying a couple of pairs of jeans the next size up as had to wonder round with the button undone the other day at work!

Bellaboo123 · 28/04/2012 21:48

Hi all - hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!
Had my booking in today - cashmere same here very uneventful - not sure what I was expecting. Loads of form filling, group talk, individual talk with mw and then bloods.
Scan at 12 weeks then doctors mw at 16 wks. I'm low risk too. I've been assigned birthing centre which was what I wanted.
Such a moody cow today to dp...so tired and nauseous....grrrr zzzzzzzzz
Hope your all well Smile

mwahmwah · 28/04/2012 21:49

Dh mum the same Ellie. He told her last week, she didn't even say congrats, let alone phone me! Nice. Wonder why she feels its fine to have an opinion when she lives all of 5 minutes away, visits once every 2 wks for an hour, doesn't work, has no interest on the rest of our lives. Doubt a third child for us will have any impact on her life whatsoever. Not that I hold a grudge. Much.

Clarella · 29/04/2012 12:07

Quick q - do you always get blood pressure taken at booking in appt? I didnt.

CupOfBrownJoy · 29/04/2012 12:11

I didn't either Clarella

CupOfBrownJoy · 29/04/2012 12:14

Oh and PIL last week have bought a new 4x4 "so we can fit a buggy in the back" Grin

Bless, its their first GC and they're SO excited. They told me they had given up hope!!

Slightly premature purchase though, I'm only 6 weeks!! Grin

NaomiRuth · 29/04/2012 12:49

Hi,

Just catching up on the thread. Hope everyone is doing ok today and not feeling horribly tired like I am. Been falling asleep at 8.30pm and having to go to bed! It's not like me as I'm a night owl normally. Hope this gets better soon. On the plus side I'm not feeling sick yet but only 5 weeks so it may hit me next week.

Miraculously my normally problem skin has cleared right up! Must be pregnancy hormones.
Like a few others I've had a lot of cramping type pains, not severe but happens most days. No bleeding though.

I think we'll have the nuchal scan, would rather have all the information. But can understand the other points of view.

We've been looking at nappy systems, definitely keen to go for reusable. Some councils have incentive schemes where you get £40 for doing this.

The NCT online shop has some really nice maternity clothes that can also be used afterwards for nursing. Love the Melba maternity pyjamas and some nice dresses too. Has anyone tried these before? Bit pricey though.

blackcurrants · 29/04/2012 14:32

Hello everyone! cup bless your PIL that is so sweet! This will be my parents' eighth grandchild and they're still as pleased and excited as anything. I told them on my dad's birthday last week. My PIL dont know yet, but thats because DH is pretty much noncontact with them because they are horrible, so its lucky my parents are excited enough for three or four people just on their own!

DH has taken DS to.the supermarket and given me an extra hour to sleep. That is love! Must go and eat something before I start feeling sick.

As suspected, the test returned a positive and I'm officially 6 weeks pregnant! It's been a busy month and we only realised in the middle of last week I was late and then avoided testing after a miscarriage at 6 weeks last year. But a very strong positive and I've been tired and stroppy all week, sick this weekend and very spotty and greasy. Love pregnancy!

And just to make sure, AIBU to be having a day 'resting' while DH looks after DS?! He has had lie in's until after 9 for the last 3 weekends inc today and I spent the morning throwing up and feeling awful...

NaomiRuth · 29/04/2012 16:29

issimma how tall are you? Just wondering if they are too long for me, I'm 5' 6".
Thinking ahead anyway, don't need them for a while, but will start looking on eBay etc for good secondhand things or sales. They look solo lovely, want to wear them now :-)

NaomiRuth · 29/04/2012 16:32

Ooh congratulations RhubarbCrumbled! So pleased for you. I think you deserve a break especially as you're feeling so sick.

Typo in last post, meant to say sooo lovely but it autocorrected.

YikesHereWeGo · 29/04/2012 17:48

ROLL ON WEEK 12!!!!!!! Bored of waiting now. (8w+4d today)

brooke89 · 29/04/2012 17:50

Congratulations rhubarb Grin I have had really bad sharp shooting pains all day Sad has been making me worried sick! Must have ran to the toilet over 50 times today for a security wipe to see if there was any blood! hope everyone is enjoying a lazy sunday!

backwardpossom · 29/04/2012 18:09

Hi all! Had a fab weekend in London. Sitting in Gatwick waiting for my flight to be called. It's supposed to be in half an hour. Signs helpfully say 'please wait'. Chances of leaving on time?! Anyway... still having brown spotting. No cramps that I've noticed. Will phone midwife in the morning to try and get a scan. Am worried, but also think what will be will be...

mwahmwah · 29/04/2012 20:09

Hope all is well possum, thinking of you. I had spotting with my last two, it is the most awful thing, worry, worry, but I ended up with two very healthy children so i'm keeping everything xed for you. Xxx
