Hi all,
Hoping to snare a few of you who has just found out the great news like me, to share the journey and have a big moan about all the lovely effects pregnancy has on us!
It's no.2 for me!

Hope my last post wasn't to harsh or offending!
If so I'm sorry, was not my intention!

minipie · 27/04/2012 16:17

backward they do say that any bleeding should be checked out - not because they can do anything if it's a mc (they can't) but because of the risk of ectopic (v rare but dangerous).

chances are it's nothing to worry about, but I would phone a dr or midwife and tell them, see what they say.

St George's in SW London has a walk-in early scan unit, don't know if it's open at weekends though.

lauraloo09 · 27/04/2012 17:46

afternoon all just marking my place and ill try to catch up later. got my booking in and scan appointments today - 19th may for booking in and 25th may for the scan cant wait. i have been lucky to have had a scan on monday and see my bubs with a lovely healthy heartbeat :) this sickness thing is getting me down tho, i think im ok as im fine in the morning then from 3pm onwards i feel like crap and could throw up constantly. Anyone got a feeling as to what they are having? I would love a boy but feeling it is a girl which i would not mind as i know my DD would love a sister already said if she had a sister she could do its make-up considering she is only 3 i think i will need to keep a close eye on her lol

backwardpossom · 27/04/2012 19:22

Thanks guys, I'm sure all will be ok - I will phone midwife on Monday even if everything stops and push to get an early scan. I have had a few more tiny streaks this afternoon. Am at the airport now trying to relax! Have a great weekend everyone x

mwahmwah · 27/04/2012 19:27

Sitting shushing a screaming 18month old. Bring on the new baby! Rest is for the weak xxx

YikesHereWeGo · 27/04/2012 19:30

Aww, that's so cute lauraloo - your little three year old doing the baby's make-up! :o
I'd really like a boy too, but again have a sneaking suspicion it will be a girl.
On the plus side, if I had a girl that would mean loads of hand-me-downs as all its cousins are girls. On the down side, it would mean loads of hand-me-downs! lol

twobecomethree · 27/04/2012 20:01

Lauraloo - at least your DD isn't wanting to put make-up on a brother, although I'm sure that could happen too!
Anyone else had any cramping type pains early on? I've been having them all week, they come and go, sometimes are very mild and sometimes more intense - never excruciating though, remind me of period pains. Not sure whether to be worried about it or whether I'm being silly Confused !

PurplePidjin · 27/04/2012 20:05

Biggest grown up nephew wants a girl, so there's two of each sex among the cousins.

Dp wants a girl because of all the issues he had growing up both black and short he's very well balanced having equal chips on both shoulders

Dniece has autism and is non verbal. She'll giggle and play gently.

Small Nephew wants b/g twins. When he grows up he's going to marry his sister and have babies lined up in the back if the car.

I secretly think MIL wants a girl - dn is in nappies still and chews clothes, so I reckon she'd like a dgd to dress up in pretty frocks.

I'm sooooooooooooo having a boy aren't I!!! Grin

PurplePidjin · 27/04/2012 20:06

Twobecome, I've had those. I'm putting it down to Sprout putting down some good strong roots so I don't worry my head off

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 27/04/2012 20:09

anyone else got awful heatburn already?

this is one of the reasons i think it is a boy, mainly the sickness is controlable but the heartburn is awful, i was the same with ds, whereas dd i had no heartburn but awful sickness!

we would like a boy though, so maybe i'm just hoping? lol

nasara · 27/04/2012 20:10

Backward, they say brown blood is old blood and not really a cause for concern. Maybe if it becomes heavier or becomes red, then get it checked out. Fingers crossed all is well.

Sooooo tired and going off biscuits and chocolate when normally I have such a sweet tooth!

livismum · 27/04/2012 20:35

twobecome ive had pretty bad cramping too, seems to be easing a bit now.

My "favourite" problem so far is excess gas! At least my bloating has gone down a bit but I can belch like a trucker! My DD called "Daddy?" the other day when I let out a particularly impressive one from another room! The joys! Grin

ellliebelle · 27/04/2012 21:16

stacey i have wicked bad heartburn all day long :( I have 2 dd's and had bad heart burn with both of them but not this early on.

my other symptoms all seem to have disappeared which always makes me feel uneasy :( although i am needing to wee more frequently

just counting down the days to my midwife appointment on tuesday.

ivanapoo · 27/04/2012 21:50

Evening all, how is everyone?

Twobecome I've had those too, come and go, I think it's fairly common given the various bits I've read on the Internet

Elliebelle I know how you feel, I wish I could just worry or think about it less...

I have woken up in the middle of the night freaking out because "my boobs don't hurt any more!" - cue frantically googling it Blush

And then tonight I made DH buy a beer when we went out to dinner so I could have a sip or three Blush

Still haven't told anyone which I'm now getting a bit bored of, especially as I'm being a rubbish friend as all I want to do is go home and sleeeep every day and have turned into a stroppy psycho bitch at work due to tiredness/frustration of finding it so hard to focus/remember words...

Maybe I'll tell my mum tomorrow...

CupOfBrownJoy · 27/04/2012 22:00

Evening all

6 weeks today and still no symptoms really to speak of. I've been wiped out tired but tbh work has been really busy so I'm putting it down to that...

I did get up 3 times in the night last night to wee though Blush. Could do without that!!

Oh actually I've been a dragon pretty stroppy with my class all week, and when I ran down the corridor today my boobs hurt and I had to stop! Normally I'm not exactly well endowed so this is a new thing....

So, I think maybe I'm beginning to have symptoms, but very early days....

StrawberrytallCAKE · 28/04/2012 00:08

Hello everyone, we made it safe on the flight with no puking, woo hoo! I didn't really feel too bad and even managed sausage and mash sloppiness for lunch. Unfortunately on the plane dd started getting conjunctivitis and it got really bad really quickly so our first stop was a huge chemist and they have a dr who works there, she was seen straight away which us great but was totally exhausted after and sobbing in the back of the car on the way too the villa, it was really distressing for her :( we got to the villa and it backed onto a duel carriageway?? So now we've moved into a beautiful villa on a golf course (which is where we were told we would be)........ I now feel like I'm going
to puke constantly.

As for the nuchal scan, sorry I'm a bit late on this, I am definitely having it. My bro has downs and although my mum would never have terminated it was a huge shock and I feel like I would be better prepared.

ivana I asked dh to buy a beer too and poured a couple of inches into my lemonade, it was lovely. I do miss a glass of wine now and again though, is anyone having the odd one now? Sometimes I think maybe one wouldn't hurt and then I change my mind.

NarcolepsyQueen · 28/04/2012 07:15

Cupof - I threw up INFRONT on my class with both of my last pregnancies. I had no warning, and it was like a scene from The Exorcist Grin

Strawberry - I'm glad you got your villa swapped, and hope your DD feels better soon!

All is OK here after my weeping session yesterday!

Cookiesandcream06 · 28/04/2012 09:46

2become3 i've had a lot of cramping and would say it feels very much like period pains. I think it's normal!

livismum I had a can of Pepsi last night and spent several hours with bad wind from both ends! Won't be having fizzy for a while! Poor DP

narcolepsy I have been crying for England the past few days. Cried because I couldn't find my moisturiser, balled like a baby at the soaps, cried when DD jumped on me .. I'm an emotional wreck ATM!! Then I cry because I'm such a bitch. Oh to be hormonal.
purple it's just typical that because you worry people will jinx it! My mum is convinced its a boy, so is DP.. Everyone said this last time and got a DD. and i was really happy last time (I secretly wanted a girl 1% more than a boy) but now I'm all for buying all new blue stuff... Even though it would save a FORTUNE to have another DD...
strawberry glad you're safe and sound.. Massive yey on the no sick. And yey for being moved villas, hope it all wasn't too stressful. Have some nice relaxing time away. I'm very jealous! Oh and on the drinking front- DP keeps saying 'oh just have one' and for a second I contemplate, then i'm like no can't do it. I didn't drink at all with DD.. Have others indulged in a glass here n there??

StrawberrytallCAKE · 28/04/2012 10:04

cookies my dh was encouraging me to have one last night too. Still can't do it!

Have jet-lag, going to Disney in two hours and I'm just getting a bit bitchy on AIBU so think it's time to sleep.

CupOfBrownJoy · 28/04/2012 10:22

I haven't even been tempted on the wine front, yet.

I'm not "banning" myself at all (particularly with a hen party and wedding to get through!), I just think "do I really really want it?" and the answer so far has been no.

narcolepsy you poor thing! I think my class would be absolutely stunned into silence!!

YikesHereWeGo · 28/04/2012 12:13

Am so glad I'm not the only one contemplating having a wee drink. I haven't had anything at all yet except half a glass of champagne at a wedding a few weeks back. My fella drinks all the time and keeps asking me to meet him at the pub after work. I just have lime and soda but was dying for a glass of wine on Thursday and dying for a beer last night. Was good though and stuck to Ginger beer. I've promised myself a glass of champagne on my wedding day but apart from that I'm going to try to do without. Feel very virtuous!

PurplePidjin · 28/04/2012 12:31

I daren't risk it, I'm too much of a worrier! I feel like guilty enough having had a hazelnut latte at sainsburys this morning with my mum Blush

Does anyone use cloth? I really want to, not sure I can justify the expenditure on AIOs upfront but there's a local nappy service doing terries/wraps/bin and all laundry for £6.50/week newborn, £9-15/week after that depending on level of service. From what I can work out, sposies would be less than a quid cheaper per week and I'd still have to deal with them - laundry service collects a bin of dirty ones and leaves you a pile of clean ones. What do we think? Dp will agree to it as long as it's a) best for baby and b) cheaper/same price...

NarcolepsyQueen · 28/04/2012 13:47

Cupof - mine were all 14/15 year olds, so were all really lovely thankfully! Ran and got a bin/glass of water/tissue etc.

Cookies - glad I'm not the only one! Feel much better today thankfully - I can't be doing with hormonal!

Happy Saturday people!

blackcurrants · 28/04/2012 14:15

YAY weekend! I got a decent night's sleep and decided to do the early part of the morning today, let DH sleep till 7.30 then woke him, gave him coffee and a dog and a toddler, and asked for an hour off. Whoosh, off to the swings with them! That hour's nearly up so I should really get out of my PJs ... ahh, it was lovely while it lasted.

Mmn. Fancy some bacon. I haven't really felt like booze, though I'd not be worried about sips from someone else's beer or whatever. So glad I can still stomach my cuppa tea every morning, would REALLY miss that!

PurplePidjin · 28/04/2012 14:36

Ooh, better idea, buy cheap terries, turn into fitters, buy wraps, save for new washing machine

According to MSE, branded nappy use costs £950 for two and a half years. Second Hand AIOs costs £240. Even with £250 for a new washing machine, I've convinced dp its a bloody good idea Grin

And I get to do lots of sewing
