Early poas-er seeks other December 2012 due dates

StrawberrytallCAKE · 24/03/2012 16:03

I've just had the official confirmation from my digital clearblue test after many a faint line. I have calculated my due date as 5th December and conception started with a curry, how much information am I supposed to share? Boobs aren't sore yet, just a bit bigger. Have had a horrific cold/flu/sore throat for a week and I am very very irrational.

Anyone else out there?

Thanks for adding me yikes so glad u got to see your little bean how very exciting, I'm going to hunt out my old books do I can remind myself of what's going on in there!

Shangers · 21/04/2012 12:21

Wow - I forgot to check for a few days and there are so many December babies already! Only a couple more days to fill and we'll have someone due every day... then it's on to the 2013 babies! crazy!

So I've been very tired (lay down briefly to rest my eyes the other day and woke up three hours later - lucky DS was at school or I'd have woken up to a wrecked house!!) - so far don't have the constant nausea that I had last time (fingers crossed it stays like that!!) but my worst symptom is my massively expanded belly - seriously - I'm not even 6 weeks and I already look 6 months!! I wouldn't mind if I was 6 weeks but I'm trying to keep it quiet and everything I wear makes me look pregnant! I know it's bloat but nothing I do seems to help! anyone got any suggestions!! I've just cried off a leaving do tonight - couldn't face pretending to drink while everyone else got trollied! .... It's going to be a quiet 9 months! :o

so lovely to see all these BFPs - but am very jealous of all these early scans!! I can't really complain as I've just made an appointment for 8 weeks... hopefully I'll get a scan then (not NHS here so kind of depends on whether my wallet stretches!)

Shangers · 21/04/2012 12:41

ooh and forgot to say - did you girls know that you're expecting a very special Dragon baby? It's the most auspicious year in the Chinese zodiac to have a baby and it's sparked a bit of baby boom here in China. Thought you'd all like to know how special you and your beans are! wizzley.com/babies-born-in-the-year-of-the-dragon/

CupOfBrownJoy · 21/04/2012 13:22

That's great news Shangers! Auspicious babies! Smile

chipsandmushypeas · 21/04/2012 13:34

Has everyone told their families yet? I was going to wait until my first scan but maybe I should tell them before? I'm only 5 weeks

Cookiesandcream06 · 21/04/2012 13:50

I wasn't going to tell mine.. But OH got carried away and told his straight away so after a while I felt bad not telling my family and his knowing. It's up to you really Smile just do whatever you feel best about, if you weren't to tell them I'm sure they would understand, and they will be happy whenever you decide to tell them the fantastic news!

CupOfBrownJoy · 21/04/2012 13:54

I'm 5 weeks and we've told immediate family. I just felt weird not telling them, plus if anything happened I'd want their support anyway, so it made sense to us to tell them early.

PrunellaDeVille · 21/04/2012 13:55

chips thought it best to tell both DMs so that i could plunder them for family history information prior to my booking in appointment.

PurplePidjin · 21/04/2012 14:06

I've told people from whom we would need support if the worst happened - my parents, mil, bil and sil (fil is deceased) and youth work colleagues (in case I need shielding from challenging behaviour - hasn't happened in 3 years but you never know)

I keep reading about pita dp's and dhs. Does anyone else have a completely lovely one who is incredibly supportive and insisting I take it easy? Or should I just shut up for fear of appearing smug Blush

chipsandmushypeas · 21/04/2012 14:08

Hmm yes I agree with the 'if anything happened I'd want their support' because I would too. Maybe I'll invite them all round for dinner at 6 weeks? I think i will have to tell them sooner anyway as I work with some family so if I'm ill with morning sickness etc I would want understanding.

Not sure how my mum is going to take it, she's usually very 'doom and gloom' and will probably say 'oh no' so I just don't want to hear that when I'm on cloud 9. I'm sure my dad will be happy, as will my sister. Not sure why I'm putting it off! Maybe because I found out at 3+6 so was v v early

chipsandmushypeas · 21/04/2012 14:09

Yes, shut up pidjin Grin no, my DPs been good - dutifully emptying litter tray and making dinner more.

chipsandmushypeas · 21/04/2012 14:10

Also, how did you tell family? Did you tell them individually or get them together? This is kind of nerve wracking!

Countmyblessings · 21/04/2012 14:36

Hi PrunellaDV and Margie32 thanks for the welcome!
Hi to everyone!!!! Wow we are going to have loads of babies in December that's Huge!!! I'm still shocked with my BFP and to have yet another baby in December is mega!!!!! Not sure of my dd as I had deleted all apps to keep a check on my AFs.
DH has decided that we should keep it quiet until our scan??????? I wanted to tell the family for the support and I hate the pretending but will obey and keep my mouth zipped! Sore boobs and sleepless nite already great!!!!!!

Countmyblessings · 21/04/2012 14:43

This thread moving fast any thoughts on names for the new thread!!!!
We have most days in December 2012 covered! Come one, come all and get on board!( just an example)

Clarella · 21/04/2012 15:15

It's hard keeping up with this thread!

Hope all are ok?

Someone mentioned bloating - I seem to be distinctively less bloated after swimming especially if its in the eve - the next morning I seem to deflate ( and wake up for the lop in the night!)

Trying to persuade meself to go now... !

Eaten too many bloody biscuits today trying not to feel queasy :(

Dragon babes - both DH and I are also dragons!

Clarella · 21/04/2012 15:15

That's loo not lop

PurplePidjin · 21/04/2012 15:46

Polar Express, CountMy??

CupOfBrownJoy · 21/04/2012 17:37

yes here too pidgin.

I got my DP "The Blokes Guide To Pregnancy" and the first few sections are about how to stop freaking out - he isn't freaking out at all!

He is researching everything on the internet, booking gynae appointments for me, doing more housework, trying to quit smoking and trying to decide if he wants a boy or girl HmmSmile. I'm the freaked out one!!

CupOfBrownJoy · 21/04/2012 17:39

ooh I like the Polar Express idea!

CupOfBrownJoy · 21/04/2012 17:41

chips I had to tell mine over Skype, parents first then DB and DSIL.

We went round to the inlaws for a coffee and told them then. I was really embarrassed for some reason. Still don't think DP's DB and DSIL know - because I've left him in charge and he hasn't quite got round to it!!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 21/04/2012 17:44

I had my scan this afternoon and am measuring a couple of days ahead, woo hoo! So my edd has changed to 3rd December. We saw the heartbeat and the yolk sac which apparently is what makes us feel sick and when the placenta kicks in the nausea decreases?? A theory I'd never heard before. It was really nice to listen to the heartbeat but couldn't see much on the screen other than a blob but it's my blob Grin. X

MyDaydream · 21/04/2012 18:21

My dp is always good, he's downstairs now making dinner while I rest, I'm exhausted and I don't seem to wake up until I start getting ready for bed.
We decided not to tell anyone until after the scan since last time I just wanted to hide away and not tell everyone it'd gone wrong. I'm starting a new job and will be quite busy around that time it might be closer to 20 weeks before anyone finds out.

Countmyblessings · 21/04/2012 19:36

December 1st class BFP express!

kateand2boys · 21/04/2012 19:39

Congrats and welcome to all the newbies Smile

Congrats to all those who have seen their little blobs, I'm not at all jealous Envy

Purple good news about your DP, fingers crossed

I feel rough today:( I think that if I don't drink enough I feel nauseous, but don't feel like drinking.

I went swimming yesterday for the first time in ages to try and strengthen my back as I had such trouble when having ds2. I was surprised to find I wasn't too terrible. I managed to swim quite a distance in a reasonable time, I'm going to try and go every week, for as long as I can.

Seeing the GP on Monday and I have to say the words 'I'm pregnant' out loud to someone, it still feels very strange even though I'm lying in bed feeling like poo.

Shangers That's interesting about the dragon babies, are surrounded by pregnant women where you are? DH is also a dragon, I'm a snake, ds1 is a goat and ds2 is a rooster (although I'm sure he should be a monkey) Wink
