Early poas-er seeks other December 2012 due dates

I've just had the official confirmation from my digital clearblue test after many a faint line. I have calculated my due date as 5th December and conception started with a curry, how much information am I supposed to share? Boobs aren't sore yet, just a bit bigger. Have had a horrific cold/flu/sore throat for a week and I am very very irrational.

Anyone else out there?

Morning! It's 7.15 am here and DS has learned the word 'NO!' -
'Shoes on, DS!'
"NO!" (runs away).
'Coat on, DS!'
"NO!" (runs away).

I thought if had had to bend down one more time to catch the little blighter, I'd puke. Happier than I've ever been that DH takes him to nursery!
As it is, I've had ten minutes to sit very still, eat a hardboiled egg (I have a stash in the fridge door, and they're so bland they settle my stomach. If I feel really bad I just eat the whites), and drink a cuppa tea. And now I'm ready to get up and go to work. Even though I feel like saying "No!" and running away!
It is waaay too soon for me to be feeling sick. Boo to this! But I did call the lovely MW I want to use, and they seemed really nice, and I have an 8 week check in appt with them on May 16th, so that's good. :)

SeymoreButts · 18/04/2012 12:24

Congratulations to the new BFPs!

Nearly 7 weeks now and the nausea is just horrible, I didn't have it like this the other times! I spent all of yesterday on the verge of being sick and feeling miserable. Also I've got a bump that I can't suck in! I'm thinking about booking an early scan now because the bump makes me look about 3 months pregnant. Blush

Stacks · 18/04/2012 12:32

Afternoon all. I'm 6w exactly today, and still don't really have many symptoms. Been eating quite a lot but trying to keep it healthy.

My meals each day so far are: porridge with handful of (frozen) berries, apples during work (2-3 a day) and bean salad for snacking, a banana on the bus home, then dinner. Not too hungry in the evenings though, which is good. I've also got yogurt and oranges to eat at home, and having lots of veg with my dinner.

I can recommend bean salad as a snack food, I've just bought a tin of plain stuff from the supermarket, then added some balsamic vinegar, sugar, salt, green beans and sweetcorn. If I do feel hungry or sick I just have a spoon or two and it really helps. Counts as your 5-a-day, and should help with any constipation issues, will also keep you feeling fuller for longer :) Another option is to use a tomato sauce like passata and make a salad that way.

waves to all.

minipie · 18/04/2012 12:39

hmmm I'm 6+6 and my symptoms seeem to be decreasing rather than increasing... boobs less sore, constipation gone and still no real nausea as long as I eat regularly ... all a bit worrying esp combined with my spotting yesterday Confused

But then, if worrying was an Olympic sport I would win gold...

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/04/2012 12:46

minipie, i'm 5 weeks today, and my symptoms are less than last week, i'm hoping that it's just my hormones settling down. only my nipples are sore now and i'm not feeling as sick as i was last week. I did another test today (as last weeks were sooo faint and dh said i might as well do the one sat in the cupboard) so i did, and it was a very dark positive line this time, so even with decreased symptoms i'm pretty sure im more pregnant.

If you're worried go to the docs sure they will put your mind at rest

minipie · 18/04/2012 13:15

thanks Stacey, that's reassuring to hear it's not just me. Think I might try another pg test - I got pretty strong dark lines at 14dpo so I guess it's a good test to see if they are still as dark. I did actually call the maternity unit at the hospital after yesterday's bleed (feel like I am pestering them a bit since I also had a scan there last week Blush) and they were very reassuring... but still...

I think I need a "project" to take my mind off it all and stop me obsessing! clearly work is not distracting enough

CODwidow · 18/04/2012 13:25

Feeling awful today :( :( massive headache and sooo so tired! Also woke this morning with awful sickness but was better after I'd eaten. Also the hunger is continuing but don't want to complain as I've been waiting for 'symptoms'

Also I keep crying at adverts, dh looks at me as if I need mental help!

backwardpossom · 18/04/2012 13:31

Just back from midwife. Very glad to see the same midwife I had with DS as she's properly lovely. She's agreed that my EDD is 13/12/12 and has also agreed that I can have a section so has referred me to the consultant and will be having the baby at the hospital I had DS. So that's all good. :) She did make me wobble a bit by saying I could still have a vaginal delivery if I wanted and the choice between that and a section was completely up to me. Then she quickly said the look on my face suggested the section was the way forward...! Hmm. I'm seeing her again next week to get my bloods done so I'll maybe have a good think about it and chat with her next week if I've changed my mind. Which I think is unlikely to be honest.

Cookiesandcream06 · 18/04/2012 14:51

I'm joining the 'feeling more crap than usual' band wagon today.. Terrible headache, (mixed with screaming and whinging DD) absolutely exhausted despite a good nights sleep- I'm literally failing to function. I've also had a bit of bleeding so the normal cramps and aches i would normally have seem ten times worse just on a physiological level. Went to the docs about the slight bleeding but just said to rest Hmm .. Eurghhh to today Sad

lauraloo09 · 18/04/2012 14:52

very Angry this afternoon. i am due to work at a polling station for the local elections on 3rd may and have been given a polling station 45mins away from my house which was ok for me before i found out im pg. I asked a couple of weeks ago to be moved closer to home due to fact ill be 9 weeks pg at the time and would prefer to be closer to home so im not driving 45mins there and back in darkness. was told this could not be done but any cancellation near home i would get first chance of being placed there. found out this afternoon a member of my staff pulled out from a station near my home 2mins away and i asked to be moved only to find out they have given it to someone else!! very Angry they went back on their word about me having first chance. i am tempted just to pull out a 15hr day sitting on the same spot with morning (all day) sickness but the extra £117 i'd earn would be good to go towards holiday spending money...what should i do lol???

when i was pg with ds dd was 16mo (a good few years ago) i used to put her pavorite dvd on and lay on the sofa, with hersat with my arm around her so if she got up i woke, she watched, i slept. Not the best parenting but i don't think she's been damaged by it!

CODwidow · 18/04/2012 15:59

stacey I also used to do that but very lucky now that I'm child free most days til 3pm although dh is at college 2 nights a week and struggling to stay awake and do everyone's homework/reading etc but hoping it'll pass soon.

Still panicking but hoping alls ok as I feel so lousy!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/04/2012 16:13

COD yeah i'm definately feeling the benefits of them both being at school ful time for this pregnancy, although not really looking forward to the summer holidays, as i work from home too, so feeling shit working and having them home sounds like a reciepe for disaster to me!

Has anybody had experience of travelling when pg, we're booked to fly to dubai when i will be 32 weeks. the airline will let you fly up to 36 weeks with a fit to fly note from the docs, but was wondering if anyone here has had any experience

Somebody else just guessed Shock apparantly i'm looking really healthy and glowing, which is probably good as the nausea kicked in about 3pm and i was feeling like shit so at least that isn't showing, a bit miffed that 2 people have guessed already and i'm only 5 weeks!!

CODwidow · 18/04/2012 17:26

stacey I'm hoping summer hols will be right when the 'easier few months will be should be past the first 12 but not into the heavy last few. Although I also work from home and that's just going to be a nightmare!!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 18/04/2012 18:05

Hi Stacey with dd I flew in the second trimester and into the third trimester with dd, we went to Antigua, Portugal and then Spain and it was fine, just make sure you take plenty of water and wear your flight socks as we have more risk of DVT being pregnant. I remember having quite a painful bum during the long flight a bit like the usual numbness but worse so maybe take a pillow? It was amazing being on the beach pregnant, really relaxing. We went to Dubai in October, whereabouts are you going to?

I am flying next week to Florida (please don't let me puke on the plane) and this time the midwife told me to take a junior aspirin before the flight, I would definitely check with the dr or midwife that this is ok as I think I will too.

Hi to newbies and congrats! I'm 8 wks today yikes!

Headaches! Any one else getting nasty headaches?

Thought it was dehydration but still bad today - after not wanting sweet stuff have had the opportunity to pig out all day (found random bag of mini eggs at school, baked cookies that the kids refused to eat then the deputies wooed us with m and s treats in the staff meeting) so maybe that?! Either way its crap!

Feeling more supported at school - heads response to me pointing out that rebound therapy guidelines say not if preg was "its not an illness" and "you may feel more like it in a few weeks" prompting lots of tears and gnashing if teeth last few nights. However deputy stepped in and did the class today and I was able to show her the email from my trainer detailing "REBOUND IS DOCUMENTED TO CAUSE MISS CARRIAGE (sic!) OUR OWN PHYSIO HAS HAD EXPERIENCE OF THIS" which will filter back through and make her realise I'm not being a lazy wuss.

risk assessment:watch this space!
team being great though and no big kick offs as yet anyway :)

kateand2boys · 18/04/2012 18:28

Wow, this thread moves fast!!

Sorry to all those who are felling rough, not feeling too bad today, it's just a low level nausea all the time. Which gets worse when I smell strong smells. I'm not hungry at all, but I never am in the first trimester and both times lost a lot of weight in the early weeks.

My boobs are killingme, I look like I've had a boob job Blush DH thinks it's hilarious and laughs everytime I get undressed. I did have a sneaky peek at maternity bras in M&S this morning and they seemed to have improved since the last time. So there may be a chance I wear a bra that makes me look as if I've got 2 breasts, not just one Hmm

It was my nephew's first birthday today and my boys played so nicely with him. It made me wonder what the future will bring.

PurplePidjin · 18/04/2012 19:00

Just walked in from work and cried Blush so so tired, and dp lost his job on Monday so things are pretty stressed round here atm. Fuck knows where next month's mortgage is coming from, let alone baby stuff Sad

kiwi5 · 18/04/2012 19:14

Can't. Keep. Up. With. You. All.
Also just read that it isn't pc to put x at the end of messages on mums net, so sorry if I have offended anyone with the few messages I have gotten round to posting!!!
So nausea kicks in in the afternoons. Mostly stuffing my face with crisps, crackers and really really want to eat burgers, also loving peanut butter.
Have an early scan on Friday to check that all is developing ok- had bleeding and cramping early on so the why I'm having a scan. Still doesn't feel like my last pregnancy, boobs aren't sore at all. So really hoping that pip is still stuck in there.
missed all the posting about crochet and craft stuff, but have been dabbling a bit, enjoy it, but not very skilled at it!
Ok, must find food!!

PurplePidjin · 18/04/2012 19:59

I haven't heard a dicky bird from midwives, even though i saw the dr 2 weeks ago and will be 8 weeks on Friday. Should I chase it up?

Barbeasty · 18/04/2012 20:01

I'm doing better at lurking at the moment, with nothing much to report.

Starting to feel very slightly nauseous when I get hungry, so I expect the sickness to kick in over the next week or so.

Still waiting to book my midwife appointment, because her clinic only goes on the GP system when her roster is released. Should be the start of May though. I've been told it's still the same midwife I had last time, which is good.

Purple sorry to hear about your DH. It all seems worse when you're tired and hormonal. Hope something comes up really soon.

I was embarrassed picking DD up from nursery this afternoon. She had a meltdown this morning, wanting leggings rather than the trousers I put her in. So DH decided to change her before dropping her off. I got an email this afternoon asking if leggings normally have feet. He sent her there for the day just in tights! How will he cope with another...

FriendofDorothy · 18/04/2012 20:11

I feel a bit crampy today, like I did when my period was a day or two away. Is this normal?

PurplePidjin · 18/04/2012 20:17

Thanks, Barbeasty Thanks I'm temping atm, just started a run of 10 hour shifts in a nursery. Plus youth club 7-10 tomorrow evening. Fuck. And it'll only last til the end of next week, then it's square one again. I could cope with the uncertainty of temping when dp was in employment; now it's our only source of income it feels like we're fucked. At 8 weeks, I wouldn't feel right taking a permanent job, i'll be off on mat leave in 6months!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 18/04/2012 20:18

Pidjin really sorry to hear about your dh, these things always happen at difficult times!!! (my dh lost his job twice last year, argh) Hope you're keeping calm and trying not to stress and it will work out soon because it has to. When we had problems we called the mortgage company who gave us a month off, might be worth a try?
