Early poas-er seeks other December 2012 due dates

StrawberrytallCAKE · 24/03/2012 16:03

I've just had the official confirmation from my digital clearblue test after many a faint line. I have calculated my due date as 5th December and conception started with a curry, how much information am I supposed to share? Boobs aren't sore yet, just a bit bigger. Have had a horrific cold/flu/sore throat for a week and I am very very irrational.

Anyone else out there?

Congrats ChangemyHappy! It definitely makes it feel more real when you've "signed in" to the thread!

You haven't told your boyfriend yet Jingle?! Wow that's going to be an exciting conversation! I didn't believe it until I'd had my DH check about 5 tests! That's a really good way of talking about it with an older child - love the phrase "trying to grow a baby!" - think my DS is too small to understand yet... plus as soon as I mention the B word, he'll be telling his friends and the teachers at nursery and it will be all around town before I can say boo!

I've got a slightly more complicated reason for not wanting to tell anyone yet - we've been on the waiting list to adopt for just over a year (it was a choice) but we found out recently that the waiting is going to be a really long time - I know everyone's going to understand that we're having another baby "while we're waiting" but it's going to take a bit of an explanation for everyone that I tell! We're still hoping to adopt btw - hopefully we won't even have to suspend our application since the list is so long! .... gosh I might have just outed myself there to anyone who knows me - ah who cares - if it's unintentional my DH can't be cross with me! ;-)

JingleBellBaby · 16/04/2012 09:38

I'm getting either the 23rd or the 25th - depending if I go for LMP or ovulation. I have a shortish cycle so I'm going with ovulation for now but sort of hoping for the baby's sake it doesn't end up with a Christmas Day birthday!

No, I haven't told him yet! But needed to talk about it so came here. He was away and I'm not entirely sure that he'd have wanted to get a text about it or something. I'll probably want to test again now I'm officially 'late' so I guess that'll be the conversation starter. He knows it's a possibility thought. It won't be a huge surprise to him.

nasara · 16/04/2012 10:21

Wow, shangers - that's fab and fascinating that you're adopting - I really think it is a very noble thing to do.

Congrats changemyhappy and welcome - definitely think it is a positive thing to 'allow' yourself to make it more real by announcing on here.

jingle, have fun telling your bf - how are you going to tell him? Got anything planned?

nasara · 16/04/2012 10:22

Oops, didn't refresh the page and missed your last post, jingle. Good luck with the test!

roseandroli · 16/04/2012 10:29

Hi Everyone! Week 5 and still no nausea, I know I should be pleased, but it just makes me worry I'm not pregnant enough. Silly, I know. I'm going to book an early scan to reassure myself. At least I have stopped the constant testing (I ran our of tests...)
For those of you who are constipated, you might think of taking a green superfood like Chlorella. But please read up on it before taking it--there are varying opinions on the internet. I asked my acupuncturist and she advised me to keep taking it, but everyone is different. It has certainly helped me to stay "regular".

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 16/04/2012 10:39

i dont log on for the weekend and look what happens, i miss so much :) working so haven't got time to catch up but will try later, still nauseous but no sickness yet, strong smells make me gag (coffee perfume etc) i'm also awake between 4 and 6 every morning, which has thrilled me!! cough

i am nesting though, spent my walkfulness early this morning cleaning out my cupboards, surely its too early for all that.

Have bought a few baby bits too, but only second hand stuff for a steal that ican't afford to overlook!

Hope everyone else is doing well!!!

Stacks · 16/04/2012 10:43

Morning everyone. Quick check-in post from me as I'm meant to be working. roseandroli I've had an early scan, have seen the bean, and still don't really believe it's real. Still have no symptoms either, though I'm sleeping more and waking up earlier. Don't think that counts as a symptom though!
If you do get an early scan, I recommend waiting till after 6 weeks, you're much more likely to see a heartbeat then. I didn't get one at 5w+1 which was expected, but disappointing.

waves to everyone else.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 16/04/2012 10:44

just read a bit and thought i'd add, this is dc3, i haven't told my 2 yet, they are 7 and 5, as have had 2 miscarriages i don't need them getting disappointed too, will tell them after the first scan by showing them the pictures. Thin k it's easier when they don't have to come to doctors appointments though :)

PurplePidjin · 16/04/2012 11:00

7+3, feeling vile, all the food is in the van downstairs and trapped behind a motorbike (the bike is between the sliding door and the food cupboard/fridge), I'm not dressed yet and I haven't heard a whisper from the mw or scan people which my mum reckons is because I'm such a low risk (30yo, healthy weight, stable relationship etc) but I'm still bloody terrified waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Thanks, I feel better now Wink

ScrambledSmegs · 16/04/2012 11:56

Morning. Yay for the early scan, stacks, have just seen that everything is where it should be, great news!

Is there anyone else who can't take Pregnacare? It gives me horrific constipation Blush and a really uncomfortable/bloated tummy. I've been taking folic acid + Floradix tablets, but am off to pick up some Sanatogen Mother to be instead later on. I remember from my first pregnancy that it was the only stuff I could stomach!

Hope all of us with ms manage to get through the day ok. And please don't worry if you don't have it - one of my good friends sailed through 2 pregnancies with not a single nauseous feeling, the caaaah Envy Some people just don't get it!

minipie · 16/04/2012 12:04

Anyone on here who wasn't nauseous at 6 weeks but found it kicked in later?

I'm 6+4 and no nausea, just wondering whether I might escape the sickness altogether or can expect it to hit like a ton of bricks next week....?

stacks I'm also waking up earlier and feeling much sleepier in the afternoons and evenings. Maybe this is our body's preparation for early mornings once the baby (hopefully, touch wood, fingers crossed etc) arrives?
Also having a LOT of dreams Confused none about children though!

rosa7 · 16/04/2012 12:22

to everyone worried about not having nausea, dooooooon't worry! you are just one of the very lucky ones I wish I was you!!!

got left off list somehow

lauraloo09 · 16/04/2012 14:10

hiya everyone hope you have all been having a lovely day and welcome to the newbies :)

the boy i told you all about is making a recovery and is now breathing on his own now but they dont know what damage has been done to his brain function. He has a collapsed lung as well so not fully out of the woods yet. Decided to tell my work today about being pg seems so surreal and feel like its a dream so went and bought another cheap test and did it and it is the strongest line i have ever seen on a test so i think its safe to say that this is no dream lol Grin

roseandroli · 16/04/2012 15:57

lauraloo, glad to hear the little boy is all right, I hope he makes a full recovery. How awful for his parents.
I had some scary cramping this morning, but it's gone now. It's so strange to suddenly be aware of every twinge in my body. I wake up in the morning and I think, "am I nauseous? am I cramping? am I still pregnant?" and then I check my cm to see if it's a tinge of pink/brown/whatever.
Ah, the madness of pregnancy. stacks congratulations on seeing your bean! I am going to try and wait till 7+ weeks.

VegemiteSandwich · 16/04/2012 17:10

The Nausea hit me this morning. Luckily, though, once I had tea and toast I felt miles better :) So my new plan is to have tea and toast straight away in the morning rather than after my shower. And the husband has been warned that breakfast in bed may be necessary!

I'm sure I've read somewhere that 70% of women suffer from nausea (and only half of those throw up) so really, there should be a decent proportion that some of us hopefully me don't get it?

whatmess · 16/04/2012 17:14

Think I jinxed it with the sickness. I was telling DH that so far it's been manageable in that if it's starts and I eat something it goes away. Now my eating seems to be making it that little bit worse. Sort of feels like the start of the 24/7 blurgh.

Minipie with my dd it didn't kick in until 8 wks.

kateand2boys · 16/04/2012 17:37

lauraloo that's really good news :)

Clarella, when I was pregnant with the first 2 I worked somewhere very exciting, table and chairs thrown, punch up in assembly (parents, not kids) etc. You need to make sure they have plans in place to look after you. Although, I'm sure in your situation you're never on your own with the children.

I told my mom and dad this morning, they were hilarious!!
Me: I'm pregnant
Dad: what do you mean?
Me: I mean I'm having a baby.
Dad: But you said there weren't going to be any more.
Me: I changed my mind.
Dad: Oh. Ok.
Mom: Can you have a girl? You know, just for variety. Shock
Dad: When's it due? December!!!! We'd better get a spare turkey ready...
My poor dad's face was an absolute picture! I can't believe the first thing he thought of was that he needed to prepare for having my boys for christmas. Then my mom, who's best friend was born on christmas day, gave me a lecture about making sure the baby felt special on its birthday.

Still don't feel very pregnant, apart from the sore boobs and increased sense of smell. I'm sure it's because to me being pregnant at this stage means feeling sick as a dog and I don't. Maybe because it's such a long time ago, maybe I wasn't ill at this stage, but don't remember it. It is still very early days for me.

Clarella · 16/04/2012 18:57

Hope all goes well with his recovery Lauraloo.

Wow this thread moves fast... hi and Congrats to newbies!

Despite tiredness I've felt the best for a while - 8wks on weds! - even managed some of the new pud for school dinner (pretty tasteless but the cherry jam was nice!). (NOT worrying!)

Bit awkward trying to point out to head teacher that preg is a contraindication for rebound therapy (trampoline therapy) - she reckons ill feel more able to do it in a few weeks :/ I'm not actually bothered about doing if the kids don't need me to restrain them (do with a few) it but my joints and back are so sore it just hurts.

Thanks Kate, we are team teach trained but I am yet to hear heads views on that! Luckily a risk assess will have to be done soon, and no we're rarely on our own anyway. Both deputies have been great and one is taking over rebound for the time being so has maybe look at the guidelines. My class has been lovely today amazingly so v happy :)

Hope you other teachers got through! Xx

Clarella · 16/04/2012 18:58

Lol about your parents btw kateand!

CODwidow · 16/04/2012 19:26

My mum is the same and really hoping this is a girl, every dress we walked past today shed point and say 'oh wouldn't it be lovely'. I've already have her the talk that chances are its another boy and that would be just as lovely! It did make me laugh though when she phoned today asking if she could just tell the lady that waxes her eyebrows as her daughter is also pregnant and she wants to talk dresses and prams!! Lol :)))

I'm still peeing a lot and so very tired, 12 noon hits and I just struggle to keep my eyes open, luckily dh has come home and taken the boys out for a bit so I can shower and get into my pjs. I'm in bed by 10pm each night but seem to be able to get up early each morning.

nasara · 16/04/2012 20:08

kateand, haha, love your dad for thinking about the extra turkey! Don't you just love families [rolleyesemoticon]

Back to work (school) tomorrow - have loved being off the last two weeks, so a bit sad to be leaving DD :( And hoping I don't feel too exhausted. Starting to realise the difficulties of being pg and having a toddler/part-time work. Only feeling a bit nauseous from time to time, usually when I am tired/hungry. This was the same with DD, so hoping it continues this way! But then again , every pg is different.

Think I am going to hold off telling my head for a while.

Stacks · 16/04/2012 20:57

Vegemite I was going to say, you might find your IBS is 'cured' while you're pg. a lot of autoimmune disorders go very quiet during pg, but unfortunately come back after. I know someone suffers from bad arthritis who was fine all through her pg. was her first pg symptom before talking a test - she didn't hurt.

Waves to everyone, sorry not to post more.

YikesHereWeGo · 16/04/2012 21:27

kate - your story about telling your folks is very funny! My dad is bound to react in a similar way when I tell him. Me and my sister usually get a response of "oh dear" from my dad when we tell him exciting news re getting engaged / getting pregnant etc. and he tends to go on about the annoying practicalities of whatever has just been announced rather than wanting to celebrate. I've always got really upset about this in the past but hearing you tell your story I guess it's best just to see the funny side?!!!

I'm having a paranoid day today (-not really like me) worrying about the risk of ectopic pregnancy as I keep getting a twinge on the right side of my abdomen. Am hoping it's nothing and am v. glad I'm booked in for a scan on Saturday. It's my boyf's stag do on Saturday though, so fingers crossed it's good news or I think I will have somewhat spoilt his day!

Can't believe just how many people are due in December. One Born Every Minute or what?!! Anyway, congrats to everyone in this thread!!
