Early poas-er seeks other December 2012 due dates

I've just had the official confirmation from my digital clearblue test after many a faint line. I have calculated my due date as 5th December and conception started with a curry, how much information am I supposed to share? Boobs aren't sore yet, just a bit bigger. Have had a horrific cold/flu/sore throat for a week and I am very very irrational.

Anyone else out there?

Well still no symptoms which feels very strange normally at this stage I am well into the all day sickness. The pain at the bottom of my stomach to the left does not seem to be going and I am getting worried now.

Welcome Changemyhappy and congratulations.

Vegemite I have IBS and have stopped taking my tablets until asking the doctor on Thursday. Are you still taking anything for yours?

Shangers I am going to hold off telling my other dc until after the 12 week scan and then I can show them a picture of their new brother/sister. However I am finding it very hard not to blab to dd she is 10 and I know she is going to be thrilled I can not wait to see her face.

stacks Glad the scan was good news.

Hope everybody else is feeling well.

*-Hello, can i join you? I can't believe i got a bfp this afternoon Shock We started trying 27 months ago and gave up about 7 months ago because it just wasn't happening. My DS is three now and we started trying just after his 1st birthday - i just can't believe it.

I had a look at the due date estimator on here and based on my 30 day cycle (am 14dpo today) I am due on the Christmas day! I have diabetes though and had DS two weeks early by CS so suspect the same will go for this one.

I am so excited but given my age (40) and that i had a missed MC 9 months before falling pg with DS i am cautious too - i hate feeling pessimistic but well i suppose my chances are less with age.

No symptoms yet either but maybe it was just really early with DS - I found out at 10dpo and had sore boobs and everything. Now i am convincing myself that the line isn't strong enough and my hcg is rubbish or something - i am way too paranoid it is a perfectly decent line for 14dpo :)

I will go back and skim the thread now and try and see how you are all getting on :) Really hope i will be able to stick with you, its early days but fingers crossed.

VegemiteSandwich · 16/04/2012 22:18

stacks that's interesting ... I did wonder if it was something to do with that! Though I think maybe I'd rather my IBS than the bout of nausea I had this morning (though at least it was short!).

cherrypie I take mebiverine (that's probably not how it's spelt) but not "properly" just as an when needed. I asked my GP last month when I went in for some pre-conception advice and she said it was totally fine to take in pregnancy (even though the patient leaflet says not, her literature says it is fine).

:( at the eptopic fears. That's given me something else to worry about now! I keep trying to remind myself that MOST pregnancies are quite normal and I'm healthy etc etc etc I can't wait for the 12 week mark when it'll feel "safer".

Stacks · 17/04/2012 09:06

When I went for my scan the nurse told me it's usual to get some pain from the ovary that made the egg. Which may be why some of you are getting pains on one side. Of course I still recommend talking to someone about it, but try not to worry to much. I only had the scan because my risk of ectopic is much, much higher than normal after having extensive abdominal surgery.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 17/04/2012 09:14

someone guessed at the school yest :-o apparantly i look different, who knows i knwo im not much fatter but my lower stomach is sticking out a bit more, managed to hush her before too many people heard though!

DH is really worried about telling SIL (his bros wife) as shes getting over a bad miscarriage (under obs at hospital every month for 6 months) , i knwo she's going to be happy for us and so does he but i hate the idea of making her upset :S

Welcome newbies :)

CODwidow · 17/04/2012 10:47

Welcome everyone :) hope everyone is well.

Just thought I'd check in and say hi, even though I'm tempted I'm not going for an early scan I think I'll be glad I waited when I (finally) reach 12 weeks!

Stacks · 17/04/2012 11:11

Stacey having spent a long time TTC, and lots of time on threads with people who've been trying a long time. I recommend (if you and your DH feel it's appropriate) telling her by email, text or phone call. So if she needs to get upset she can, and doesn't have to put on a smile when her first reaction may not be happy. She will be happy for you, I'm sure, but that first shock can be really hard, and it's nice to be able to deal with it at home alone together, rather than in front of the happily pregnant couple.
Of course, you and your DH know them much better than me! So do what feels right for you.

stacks thanks, we've spent over a year ttc too and had 2 mc, so i know how she is feeling, a close friend told me and despite being happy for her i was very sad for me. Think i need to talk to dh about it later.

minipie · 17/04/2012 11:42

morning ladies

anyone else feel like time is passing soooo slowly?

I haven't got my booking in appt yet, spoke to the hospital yesterday and they've got my referral letter, just not got round to sending me an appointment yet... I know it won't be for another 3 weeks or so but I'm so impatient!

I had a little bit of bleeding again this morning Sad, exactly the same as last tuesday. Hardly any, just a bit of bright red when I wiped after the loo and then just a bit of brown tinge afterwards. I had a scan after the bleed last week and it was all ok and the sonographer said I didn't need to worry about further small bleeds, so I guess I shouldn't really go off for another scan. I hope this doesn't become a regular tuesday thing!

And I'm also worried as I'm rhesus negative, so meant to get anti D after bleeds in pregnancy, but dr google says not if they are small bleeds before 12 weeks... so I guess I don't need it this time.

Aargh so many things to worry about! I really must try to relax and think "que sera sera" thoughts.

CODwidow · 17/04/2012 11:53

Time is passing slowly! Haven't got my booking in for another 3 weeks feels like ages away!

Well the hunger has started, seems ridiculous as I'm hungry every hour trying to keep it healthy but struggling if I'm honest!

sketti · 17/04/2012 11:58

is feeling so happy to feel sick :) after having a miscarriage in January, any sign is a good sign

minipie · 17/04/2012 12:39

Oh I'm hungry too COD! but then I eat quite a lot even when not pg Grin so don't know if it's really a symptom or not.

sketti sorry about your mc. funny to feel happy about feeling sick but I kow what you mean!

stacey would you tell your SIL before the 12 week mark or wait till then? Sounds like you are also a long term ttcer and know how she may feel.

rosie welcome and fingers crossed for you! congratulations on your long awaited BFP. it's nerve racking eh? will you test again tomorrow with fmu?

cherry have you seen your dr yet and mentioned the side pain? perhaps ask for an early scan just for reassurance that it's in the right place.

backwardpossom · 17/04/2012 12:43

I'm just shattered! Doesn't help that the boy got up at stupid o'clock this morning!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 17/04/2012 12:47

COD when i wake up at stupid o'clock in the morning (twas 3 this morning and got back to sleep at half 4) i am starving so much that it hurts, i'm trying not to overeat though as with dd i went from a size 10 before to a size 16/18 after and i have worked bloody hard to get back to a size 12 (after being a size 20 after ds) and i am not ruining it!

my plan is 3 filling meals a day and if i need to healthy snacks, lots to drink (lime and soda seems to work wonders for my nausea) and make sure i get exercise (of some sort) each day, mainly walking got an irrational fear of 'shaking the baby out' if i go back to zumba yet!

minipie i don't know wether to wait, i wanted to, but as someone has guessed already i really don't want them guessing before we tell them. Also it's her birthday soon so if we go out for a meal it's going to be completely suss that i'm not drinking as i always have a few glasses when we get together, she's not gunna fall for the anti b's trick, so who knows!

FriendofDorothy · 17/04/2012 13:10

I am starving too. I could eat anything and everything in my path!

I am going to be the size of the house if I am not careful!

YikesHereWeGo · 17/04/2012 13:13

thank you Stacks for the wise words!

blackcurrants · 17/04/2012 13:16

Can I join?
So I POAS and oh, wow, it's positive!
From my online calculating, that puts the due date at Dec 21st, ish, 2013.

This will be my second, DS is currently 20 months old.

I'm so exciiiiiiiiiiited and I can't tell anyone yet! Also, I am looking for a new job and we're talking about buying a house. Crazy, moi?

Anyone else?

Countmyblessings · 17/04/2012 13:17

Hi all - lurking for now,I'm not offically joining as still early days and with 2 previous sadness Im worried to get excited( I know some know how I'm feeling)
But just wanted to reserve a small seat somewhere!(sits down in a window seat)
Hopefully when feeling better will get stuck in as we all are expecting December babies! and I love sharing as can't do it in RL!
See u all soon!

minipie · 17/04/2012 13:20

mmm Stacey I wonder if it might be a good thing in some ways if she guesses before you tell her? I don't know how you felt when ttcing, but when I was ttcing I found it easier if I'd already guessed before the "announcement", the harder announcements for me were the ones that came out of the blue. the birthday sounds tricky though. maybe you could not drink, not use any excuse, and if she asks tell her, and if she doesn't ask, reckon she's guessed but doesn't want to talk about it? Tricky one. Does she know you've been ttcing and had mcs?

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 17/04/2012 13:45

minipie dh is a very private person so they don't know anything about the mcs or the ttc so it may be completely out of the blue....hard decisions, really wanna do the right thing for her :S

lauraloo09 · 17/04/2012 13:55

hiya everyone and welcome to the newbies and lurkers lol Grin

i am ill today been sick around 5 times but always feeling hungry it seems to be carbs and crisps (salt & vinegar) that i am eating constantly. I feel so tired i really could cry at the thought of being in work for another 3 hrs :( i am tempted to ask my boss to go home but then i feel guilty about it thank god i only work part time and finish for the week tomorrow (unless i ask for a day off)

CODwidow · 17/04/2012 14:34

Stacey I'm exactly the same, I've just lost 2.5 stone ish to get back to a 10/12 so I'm eating lots of fruit and veg inbetween my 3 meals. I'm also the same with Zumba and jogging it seems silly but I can't help thinking I'll dislodge it!

FriendofDorothy · 17/04/2012 14:40

My Zumba teacher told me that I wasn't allowed to continue with class as I am pregnant.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 17/04/2012 14:52

my instructor will let me continue but has to see maternity notes to check blood pressure is ok, think it does depend on their insurance though.
