Early poas-er seeks other December 2012 due dates

I've just had the official confirmation from my digital clearblue test after many a faint line. I have calculated my due date as 5th December and conception started with a curry, how much information am I supposed to share? Boobs aren't sore yet, just a bit bigger. Have had a horrific cold/flu/sore throat for a week and I am very very irrational.

Anyone else out there?

Oh and why aren't my boobs growing? That was the best bit of pregnancy last time. DP loved it, apart from being told off in the first couple of months for touching them too much! Hmm

gilsbubbles · 12/04/2012 13:56

So its not just me then, 2 tests already and thinking if buying more. don't have mantra symptoms yet and won't see mw till 12weeks. guess im looking for reassurance that im not imagining this

Kate- I have maternity clothes, but I'm still breastfeeding DD at the moment, so unless that stops soon I'll have to try and find some tops you can wear for both.

whatmess · 12/04/2012 14:42

Hello, newbie here. Finally got up the courage to seek other December Mums out. I've had this irrational fear that if I start doing normal pregnancy stuff, somehow I'll jinx it Smile.

I'm due 19th December after a mc and 18 months of trying. Still can't quite believe it. I have one dd who's 3 and so far this is nothing like my other two pregnancies. Lots of gas, cramps, and back ache. Headaches and some nausea which I am controlling with a voracious appetite. And it is only 4 weeks or 2 if we're being technical. Think the key with the nausea Quills is to eat little but often. My body has interpreted that as little but always Hmm and I shall be the size of a house if this carries on.

Anyone else have cramps like you've pulled a muscle in your tummy. I seem to be getting loads of these. They last a day or two and then disappear only to be replaced by one somewhere else. Must admit, this combined with pain in my shoulders has me quite worried, so I'd be glad to know it's normal, or a symptom of the excessive gas I seem to be carrying around.

Chloe55 · 12/04/2012 15:27

Have you spoken to your gp about the shoulder pain whatmess? I am sure it's just a pregnancy symptom but should be checked out as it can be a sign of an ectopic. I am sure that's not the case with you but don't ignore it, the gp will understand your concerns.

So much housework to do before I go back to work on Saturday but just can't be bothered bleurghhh.

whatmess · 12/04/2012 15:56

That's what is worrying me Chloe, although I wouldn't have thought the symptoms of an ectopic would show up so quickly (4 wks).
Just booked an appt with the GP just in case.

Clarella · 12/04/2012 15:57

Hi whatmess, congratulations and welcome!

I was the same about the jinxs thing - still am a bit!

Ditto the tummy cramps / pulls. One day last week (6wks) it felt as if all my muscles had rearranged them selves over night. I've never had period pain (sorry!) But it kind of must be a mild version, esp in evening. Sort of feels hot? Anyone else got this?

I really want to poas now but am actually too scared incase its not as strong anymore! (cheaper too!)

Clarella · 12/04/2012 16:01

Meant to add whatmess, if it helps, I got terrible joint pain from weeks 4 to 6, ceased up and old injuries came back such as the same joints that hurt after I came off my bike. Hope you're ok.

minipie · 12/04/2012 17:00

hi whatmess, welcome Grin. I have the "pulled stomach muscle" pains too, sometimes. And the gas Blush. I think they may be related?

kateand2boys · 12/04/2012 17:43

Welcome whatmess I have lots of aches and pains, feels like mild period pains, which makes me totally paranoid.

Looks like the nausea has arrived, I really had to choke down my lunch and I think I'll be passing on dinner. All I really want are carbs, but that's not exactly a balanced diet is itHmm?

lauraloo09 · 12/04/2012 17:51

afternoon everyone

welcome whatmess i have been having an ache as if ive pulled my stomach muscles and sometimes it feels as if the muscles are tight.

kate my nausea has hit me big time today and it has been the first that resulted in me being sick thank god i made it to the loo is asda otherwise i would have been totally embarassed Blush
the only thing that stops me feeling sick or being sick is eating but dont want to keep eating ill be the size of a house by the time 12 weeks is here lol sounds silly but really worried about the amount of weight i will gain. I was 14st 3lbs at start of jan and the week of my BFP I was 12st 5lbs and was doing great on ww. Last time i only gained 1 1/2stone so im hoping for the same this time hopefully still doing a bit of light karate will help with this :)

Cookiesandcream06 · 12/04/2012 18:23

All I want are carbs too! I've been grazing like an overweight cow in a bid not to feel sick so I have this horrible feeling I'm going to be in maternity jeans in a matter of weeks- just for my weight gain! Wind has eased off slightly- it was getting ridiculous, like a few times a minute for most of the day!
The rain kept me away from going to the sewing shop today- i'm doubley pissed off about the stupid weather.
I still haven't told my family, I think people are starting to clock my decaff coffees and lack of smoking already..

YikesHereWeGo · 12/04/2012 19:15

Hello everyone, good to hear from you all!
Well we all seem to be doing ok so far, don't we (touch wood!) Quite an adventure isn't it?
Not much new to report here other than I seem to have transformed from a workaholic into a 9-5er over the past few weeks (-mind on other things); I've booked an appointment for an 8-week scan a week on sat (although GP said it was a waste of money); and have purchased a rather impressive sounding but not particularly glamorous 34DD bra to sleep in. Felt a bit queasy today but prob due to too many chocolate eggs having been consumed rather than ms - at least I hope so!
No urges to knit/sew or do anything else remotely kirstie alsopp-like yet. Not really my bag all that but am v impressed by those with enough patience to do it. Nah, it's all about the snazzy buggies and other gadgets with me (although daren't even do any 'window shopping' until at least week 12.)
Can't wait to (hopefully) see the heartbeat in 9 days. Eek!!!

pleasebethismonth · 12/04/2012 19:56

Yikes- how much was your scan? (If you don't mind me askin!) I'm very jealous as i would love to book one too. Had a doc app today and asked for an early scan (instead of 12 week one so he didn't think i was just being greedy!) he said he would write to the hospital to request this. Not seeing the mw until 3rd May by which time I wil be 10 weeks so would love a scan before then.

My symptoms are kicking in now, feeling quite sick at times although haven't actually been sick yet. Also eating like a horse which scares me too as I don't want to show yet!

PurplePidjin · 12/04/2012 20:14

I'm definitely carb loading, trying to stick to rice cakes with marmite and ginger oatcakes to minimise weight gain! I was 12st12 last summer and just hit 11st (target of 10st7) a few weeks ago Sad

I sew, crochet and knit normally anyway so nothing out of the ordinary there Envy for those with snazzy buggy buidgets though Wink

CODwidow · 12/04/2012 20:30

Purple I'm the same just dropped from 13st 3 to 11st (target of 10st 10lb) so also trying to watch what I'm eating. Luckily I fancy crunchy stuff so lots of carrots and apples!

I have to confess to researching prams for over an hour tonight, I have a 7 seater so need something that will fit with all seats up :)

Boobs aren't much bigger but sooo painful I daren't take my bra off!

Strange sensation in my belly as if things are stretching and moving about, luckily still fitting in my clothes hoping to get to at least 12 weeks with my clothes. Although so many shops do a really good maternity range nowadays, more shopping to think of! :)

YikesHereWeGo · 12/04/2012 20:38

pleasebethismonth - scan is £100. Don't know if that's standard or not but it's for an "early pregnancy scan" at the Surrey Park Clinic in Guildford. I know it's a lot but I get married at week 13.5 and don't want to have to wait until the week before our wedding just to find out if there is a heart beat. At least this way if it's bad news I have a few weeks to come to terms with it and then plough all my energy into making sure I have a fab (& drunken) wedding. Or if it's good news then so much the better and one less thing to worry about. Don't think my nerves can cope with the suspense much longer...

birdofthenorth · 12/04/2012 21:15

Hello all, can I join? Got my BFP on Easter Sunday. Have DD1 aged 19 months but also miscarried at 12 weeks last November so proceeding with caution!

gilsbubbles · 12/04/2012 21:45

had sex tonight and a few hours later noticed a small amount of bright red blood when I wiped after going to the loo. I've read that this can be normal but can't help freaking out

ItsMyLastOne · 12/04/2012 21:48

It is normal and as long as it's a small amount and your not having cramping with it, I'm sure it'll be fine. If it's still there in a couple of days maybe contact the gp/epu. Smile

ItsMyLastOne · 12/04/2012 21:48

*you're not your

CODwidow · 12/04/2012 21:50

I've heard that's quite common gilsbubble but maybe go to GP tomorrow?

I've also looked at early scans and I think £100 is about average but I think I'm going to try and hold of til I see mw on 3/5 and hope she books me in for one slighty early due to last mc.

Told someone else today, really need to keep my mouth shut!

lauraloo09 · 12/04/2012 21:57

gilsbubble think the slight bleed is normal after sex so early in pregnancy like others have said unless there is cramping I wouldn't worry too much if you're still unsettled speak to GP/mw who will be able to ease your fear.

I don't see mw until next fri and I really hope for an early scan not sure if I will get one this time round but hoping due to the length of time and the amount of time on clomid that they will give me one. I go back to work on Monday and I am dreading it can't shake the feeling of needing to be sick and have been sick another couple of times tonight :( also can't get thro the day without needing to sleepso work next week will be fun...gave dh a fright the other night saying I wondered if it was twins we'd have he is petrified lol ink he'd do a runner if it was lol xx

ItsMyLastOne · 12/04/2012 22:02

When I was pg with dd, DP actually hoped for twins. If it was twins this time he'd probably leave me! Wink Oh how having an 18 month old changes things! Grin
