Early poas-er seeks other December 2012 due dates

I've just had the official confirmation from my digital clearblue test after many a faint line. I have calculated my due date as 5th December and conception started with a curry, how much information am I supposed to share? Boobs aren't sore yet, just a bit bigger. Have had a horrific cold/flu/sore throat for a week and I am very very irrational.

Anyone else out there?

Clarey - oooh tell me more about the acupuncture...I got bad sickness last time with DD and am very nauseous now too so might just look into it. Isnt it scary with all the needles though?? Im quite needle-phobic ....Confused

Purple - Grin no I completely get what you mean. I'm off from school now too (trainee teacher), so been doing the dinner etc...although we went to Asda earlier to stock up on some quick and easy (and yummy) things to eat as we're also moving house this week so together with all they stress and this constant nausea, cooking is the last thing I need!

Oh and can I recommend lush sexy peel soap with a lovely citrusy smell for nausea- I'm currently laying on the sofa sniffing it and it really is helping! Wink

CODwidow · 11/04/2012 21:16

Omgoodness!! So do tired I've walked about like a zombie all day not sure how I've got to this time to be honest!
Feel a little nauseaus but not too bad which worries me as always sick, sick, sick! (I'm sure I will regret saying that when sickness hits! )

CODwidow · 11/04/2012 21:16

So not do!

PurplePidjin · 11/04/2012 21:34

Expect to pay £5-6 per ball in jl, although you can get it cheaper online if you know what you want. I like to have a good feel and a chat to the staff though Blush

You'll spend as much on wool as you would on a machine knitted blanket from a shop, but a bazillion times more love! My mum will be digging out the blanket she crocheted when pg with me.

For advice, I'm a lot more experienced at crochet than knitting, but there are some lovely people in Arts and Crafts to ask. Am always up for a knit an natter, met a MNer in Didcot last month to work on blanket squares (4 hours on a train) mad

And don't be scared to dump a wooly tangle onto the counter of a wool shop and say "Help!" Grin

sketti · 11/04/2012 21:53

Hi may I join? i'm due on the 7th december. Need to read the 23 pages on here to catch up lol

Quills · 11/04/2012 21:55

Aww, lovely to see so many fellow crafters! I'm a very slow knitter, but I love quilting - I'm making a little patchwork pram quilt. Neutral colours, as I don't want to find out what we're having. DH is desperate to find out, though, but fingers crossed I can play the hormones card and get my way on this one! Grin

Anyone found anything good for nausea that ISN'T lemon or ginger? They were godsends with DD, but I can't go near them this time around.

kateand2boys · 11/04/2012 21:56

I'm looking forward to getting going on knitting too, my local wool shop is fab. I've knitted plenty of blankets for friends in the past few years, so I'm looking forward to doing one for one of my own.

I'd have no idea how to pass on any tips for getting better at knitting. My mom taught me when I was about 7 or 8 and still fixes my messes for me now Blush

I nearly nodded off at my mom and dad's today, so very tired. Also I wanted to tell them, but can't as the ds's were about and we aren't going to tell them for a good while yet. So I'll have to wait until the boys are back at school to tell the news.

PurplePidjin · 11/04/2012 21:59

Ooh, Quills, fancy some swapsies? Crochet stuff for a little quilt, maybe? I like making clothes but don't have the patience for quilting Envy

Just jump in, setting. Topics so far are symptoms, camping, symptoms, crafting and symptoms...

FriendofDorothy · 11/04/2012 22:11

I am a quilter too. I am making a king-sized rainbow quilt for a wedding present at the moment. I made a cot quilt for my niece and nephew so I guess I will have to start on one for our baby too!

ItsMyLastOne · 11/04/2012 22:31

I'm not doing knitting, crocheting, quilting, camping, running, cooking, cleaning or anything else useful, so all normal in our house! But in my defence I am doing my last modules at university and will finally graduate around my due date! Can't wait for it to all be over. Then I might become a proper housewife! Wink

backwardpossom · 11/04/2012 22:40

Hi sketti glad you made it over!

cherrypiew3 · 11/04/2012 23:07

Stacks glad that you are been well looked after.

roseandroli I know how you feel about not believing I also keeping do tests brought a clearblue digi today would of been my 4th test. However the test did not work which resulted in me having a major strop and throwing it across the bathroom. DH was outside the door so he came in and told me that I had already got 3 positive results so it is time to step away from the tests.

Qkingmum This will be my 4th also and although I have no symptoms what so ever, I do think that my tummy looks bigger than normal I have have heard people say that you do show quicker with the more you have not sure if this is true or not. I was small carrying my last 2dc so can not really remember.

Well my youngest is 5 now and we have nothing for a baby we gave everything away after having him.(Cause we were definitely not having any more) We have just moved so I really need to start saving the pennies now looking forward to buying a new pram though.Grin

PurplePidjin · 12/04/2012 07:11

Dp is very impressed that my 36D norms are already bigger! I've packed 3 different types of bra because they're uncomfortable Blush

Just need to grab my wooly bag and we're off Grin

Chloe55 · 12/04/2012 07:56

Where u off again purple? been up since 6am trying not to throw up, all good I suppose.

soandsosmum · 12/04/2012 09:46

So today I finally rang the Dr and booked to see MW next week as I'll be 8 wks.
I made dc a little soft toy last week from old stripey pj material. It's quite amateur but I like it!

I'm not sick but v tired esp as dd1 Dh and I have all been ill. Still don't feel great myself.

Told the last of my family yesterday. I've had a less than excited response as they all feel they've not been able to see DD1 as much as they expected to. I think this is mainly Dh wanting more 'space' and feeling swamped by my family but it still makes me sad and I'm not sure how to do it better this time

CODwidow · 12/04/2012 10:11

Guaranteed at least 90% of the people I tell will make a comment about wanting a girl and by the second time I'll have to come up with a witty remark that I am quite happy with my boys!

Feeling a lot more sick today :)
I was feeling bloated but realised this morning I am just really constipated! Blush

Cherry pie we also have no baby things left so lots to get :)

Clarella · 12/04/2012 10:59

Been jealously thinking about knitting etc as I love sewing but have a pile of printing 'creative projects' stacking up (did art at uni) when I realised I can't really do that as can't use the inks can I?! They are stinky. Knitting is ay least chemically safe!

Might join you in the stitching projects though gotta finish darning a teaching assistant's top a dear little one ripped - she's struggling as it is and they've all just lost their special needs allowance which used to cover ripped clothes. We teachers keep it which is great but not at all fair. ( Quickly hopping back off soap box )

I think I ended up doing 12 tests.....!

Dillydollydaydream · 12/04/2012 11:08

I bought a packet of 15 Internet cheapy tests (only 2.80) and used them all this month Blush
I got a is it, isn't it line a day or so before AF was due. On the day AF was due I used my last Internet cheapy test which showed a darker line, I then used a first reponse test to double check! Crazy!
I have never used the clearblue digital tests so may have to use one of those too to see it it words!

roseandroli · 12/04/2012 11:43

Dillydollydaydream I also have a stack of internet cheapies which I have been religiously peeing on since I got my BFP on Monday using ClearBlue Digital. They've all been positive but somehow I am having trouble absorbing the good news! I recommend the Clearblue digital test--in fact, I may get another one, just to see it say 2-3, which hopefully I will be by next week.

Ah the strange obsessions of a ftm!

Anyone given birth at UCH birth centre? I'm thinking of delivering there--read both good and bad things on other MN threads.

Clarella · 12/04/2012 12:03

Having never seen a positive test before I was shocked and confused by the very faint lines a few days before AF, googling told me about 'evap lines' (the things ive learned in the last few months!) So I did daily using basic Asda ones and they got stronger. Then I gave a urine at the docs ( after work!) And it came back inconclusive (1 day post AF)! So I panicked and carried on testing including an expensive digital which said 5wks. THEN a week after my first test the urine sample I gave was mislabelled so not tested Grrr! I did test again before the final test at 5 weeks exactly which was finally confirmed.

Thus 12 tests.

It was mainly cos I needed to check what to do with meds asap but I probably would have done the same if not!

minipie · 12/04/2012 12:05

I'm even dafter rose... I peed on a clear blue digital this morning - even though it's been over 2 weeks since my BFP and even though I had an early scan on Tuesday which showed all fine!! DH looked at me like I was mad which I probably am. Can't really explain...

Don't know about UCH birth centre sorry. A friend's had 2 babies at UCH and had good experiences both times (despite having to have an emergency c section with the first) but I don't think she used the birth centre.

roseandroli · 12/04/2012 12:26

minipie I totally understand. I don't have any pregnancy symptoms (except sore nipples) so the obsessively repeating poas is my only way to confirm I'm pg! clarella I found the faint lines confusing too! That's why I went with Clearblue digital.

Anyone know how early I can get scanned? I want to wait to hear a heartbeat (so maybe eight weeks?) but I don't want to wait 12 weeks for the standard NHS scan. By then I will have driven DH completely insane.

kateand2boys · 12/04/2012 13:13

Cod people always asked me if I'd have another one to try and get a girl, so I'm expecting similar reactions and I've only got 2 boys.

We only have a moses basket, stroller, a car seat and bizarrely a steriliserConfused So lots to get here too.

I also have no maternity clothes and having had 2 babies in July, have no idea what to plan to buy for giving birth in the depths of winter

FriendofDorothy · 12/04/2012 13:15

I am testing every day too! I have no symptoms so keep trying to convince myself that this iactually happening and it isn't a dream!

ItsMyLastOne · 12/04/2012 13:51

I feel quite sane compared to you lot Wink as I've only done 2 tests, and that was only really because there were 2 in the pack.

I had my appt with the GP this morning. It was a student doctor doing it and then he had to bring in a senior gp to come and confirm everything he believed or wanted to d or whatever. Well, that was supposed to be how it went, only he was so confused about my history of bleeding (I bled every day for 2 and a half years before getting pg with dd, then still bled heavily till 7 weeks pg, then more bits of bleeding till 14/15 weeks). I told them how I had been bleeding for 19 days now with this pregnancy, and that I only did a test because I'd been bleeding for 2 weeks and it made me think I might be pregnant. The senior gp said she'd never heard anything like it and couldn't believe that not only would bleeding for 2 weeks make me want to do a pg test, but that I was actually right! She also said she wasn't concerned I might be having a mc as I have none of the other symptoms and I wouldn't still have a BFP this late into bleeding.

I feel quite reassured now. I did feel a bit sorry for the student doctor having to deal with me though!

I hope everyone else is starting to relax a bit too. Smile
