FoofFighter · 25/03/2012 11:37

Fab news ew hope it stays that way :)

Is anyone going to the Baby Show at the NEC in May?

Tits from hell still here, they are worse first thing in the morning (from being squished in bed i suppose?) and last thing at night.

it's apparently going to get upto 22c here not that I will see much of that from the sofa! Times like this I wish we had a garden/yard, I only go outside about twice a week atm due to my back but the thought of lovely warm sun on it is very appealing.

We've got a council house appliccation form to go through today and get off in the post tomorrow, so hard knowing which areas to tick as there are quite a few pockets of "undesirables" but then I have lived in places that are supposed to be nice and posh and still ended up next to a family of druggies who harrassed us Sad oh well if I just stick down as many places as possible it's better than being too picky right?

Have good days all :) hopefully today will be a calmer day on the November duebies thread, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster this last week hasn't it?

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/03/2012 12:32

Seems like most of country is enjoying warm sunny spells and for once the south east is missing out. It's cloudy and not that warm which reflects my mood :(
Feel unbelievably tired, had to have a nap at half 11 and feel upset and angry for no reason. Ds is teething and bored and all dh wants to do is play his Xbox so I'm buggering off to my muns soon for lunch and taking ds with me.

Kyzordz · 25/03/2012 12:44

Feeling like complete rubbish this morning, so sick and grotty. I've got tonnes to do and really haven't any energy for it. Besides, I think I'll throw up all over the place if I move! Sitting on the back doorstep atm in the sun watching the dogs being all lazy on the patio. I really should move and get something done...

YellowWellies · 25/03/2012 12:54

Well after a couple of days of sea fog forming due to the warm (ish, this is Orkney it's never strictly warm) sunshine - it seems today that the sun has won over the haar - so I'm off for a stroll to top up my vitamin D levels and to stop myself turning into a leviathan (I'm eating enough for a rugby squad). Hope everyone feeling grotty feels better today. Have got an inkling we're having a girl (I know strictly it's neither at the moment), any one else got any inklings?

WestWingCJ · 25/03/2012 13:09

yellowwellies not a clue, but my DH is convinced it's a boy. I can feel a wager between him and I coming on...... Will make it a bit more interesting!

Chunkychicken · 25/03/2012 13:45

My DH was convinced DD was a girl & I wasn't sure either way. He is now saying we def need the 12wk scan to check there aren't 2 heartbeats as he's convinced my symptoms are much worse than with DD!!! I said the difference in severity of symptoms could be down to my age or just that its a different pregnancy, as they can all be different, or that it's a boy. Kind of hope for a boy but would be very happy with a baby full stop Grin

FoofFighter · 25/03/2012 13:50

It's not neither at the moment at all, from what i understand/remember from Biology, it's already whatever it is from very early on :)

I can only picture mine being a girl like when i day dream about the future and imagine it in the cot etc but i don't know if that is because deep down that is what I would prefer iyswim?

I think DP would prefer a boy, but then I think deep down most men do as they can take them to sport and to the pub later on and all that yeah cause girls can't do that too!

So for DP sake I wish a boy :)

Hugs for those feeling grotty x

FoofFighter · 25/03/2012 13:56

If you know the dates you had intercourse and the date you ovulated then you could hazard a guess using the Shettles Technique?

WaitingForMe · 25/03/2012 14:22

DH announced yesterday that he thinks it's a girl. I have no feelings/insight.

Had a busy and productive day yesterday but am exhausted today. I had no idea pregnancy would be so tiring. Trying to be happy about it all but so frustrating to be stuck on the sofa when I want to be buying plants and making up hanging baskets etc.

Hoebag · 25/03/2012 14:37

A big congrats to all the BFP'S and an empathy hug to all feelin grotty today I have had fatigue all day shaking etc weak and had my first sickness.

I've had a big cuppa which I know is naughty but eith my toddler I need to stay awake!

MsBlueberry · 25/03/2012 14:45

Hey ew, so glad to read you had good news last night. Fingers crossed that today has been uneventful and you've been enjoying the sun. MrsB xxx

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/03/2012 15:08

Ok now I feel sick and tired and so not with it. I'm 6+4 today and feeling like poo. I need food but at my parents waiting for 'lunch' which will be served around half 3 so trying to keep the sickness away.

KatherineUK2003 · 25/03/2012 15:15

I just found out I am pregnant yesterday, it looks like im due on the 29th Nov, im a bit confused, as I have a 7 month old baby girl. This pregnancy is a total shock, and totally a massive surprise.

Anyone else know of any people who have had babies soo close??

FoofFighter · 25/03/2012 15:20

Congratulations Katherine Thanks I wonder if you will be our last duebie of the month :)

I can't help you with the age gap as mine will be 18 years, which believe me is probably as confusing though!!

WestWingCJ · 25/03/2012 15:21

My brother and I are 15 months apart. My mum says it was hard work at first, but not for too long. Plus - as a sibling, it is just fab to grow up with someone so close to you in age! Have been reading some threads on how to cope with a newborn and toddler, and it seems fairly full on whatever the age gap! Congratulations!

Hoebag · 25/03/2012 15:24

Congrats Katherine

madasahattermummy · 25/03/2012 15:48

i have 15 month age gap between my 2 , boy and girl , they are great together an it was much easier than i thought , put pick your double buggie wisley !! some are awfull to get on with . congrats !

funthatisfunny · 25/03/2012 15:50

congratulations katherine; that is close together!

yellow i am not sure what you mean by it being 'neither' atm but I do know that the gender is decided at conception but that the sex can't be 'seen' until you are about 16 weeks? I KNEW DS was a girl because he felt so calm and gentle (which he is) so found out at the 20 week scan so I could be sure and obvs he was a boy :) This one I am also feeling is a girl and keep thinking she is called matilda which she really wouldn't be! Am such a freak.

pasties aye truro is teeny - which is why we may not want to stay there but are trying it on. We live between leeds and bradford atm and only two hours from london so feel very well connected and going 'back' to cornwall is a bit scary. we lived there before and loved it but we are more wordly wise now and are used to earning salaries that we are not sure the westcountry can match up to, especially now house prices are through the roof too there :( Anywho, family and friends may be just the ticket so we shall go and find out! personally I can't wait to have some help with DS and a cinema in walking distance and for DH to have his friends back :) Can't put a price on happiness eh?!

seems like loads of you are feeling rough today? Be well soon peeps! I ate as soon as I got up (bleugh) before I started feeling sick and it seems to have worked. DS and I did painting in the garden and now I have to scrub the paint off the patio. Am such a thicko, I thought it was water soluble. Harrumph. he now naps HURRAY!

BottleRed76 · 25/03/2012 16:45

Just been catching up with the thread.... well, what a rollercoaster.

Chicken Spots - Sorry to hear your news. I hope you are getting through it and begining to feel positive for the future. Good luck.
It really brings it home when you hear of someone going through something that you're constantly afraid will happen to you.

Essex - What a horrible shock - glad you got a reassuring scan. Phew!!

I had my first doctors appointment on Friday. It was great, the doctor really took the time to go through lots of info with us. I'm in South Manchester and it looks like I'll be going to Wythenshawe which is a big new unit. Doctor did say friends of hers who worked in medical profession in many hospitals in region chose to have babies there so that's good enough for me.

Back to see MW on 4th April.

Then spent rest of Friday making and decorating cakes for a wedding until 4.30am! It was worth it though..... and yesterday was possibly my first sober social event since I can remember. Hummmmm - that sounds bad.....
DH birthday next weekend and big night out planned. Going to be hard but I'm sure everyone else being drunk will be entertaining.

Anyway. still no sickness and can hardly button up pants already!

shinyblackgrape · 25/03/2012 17:13

Hi bottlered - I'm in south Manchester too! Need to decide between wythenshawe or st Mary's. Still not 100% sure as have read varying things about both. I've promised the doctor I'll decide bt my first midwife appointment in April.

Just decided to break out of lurkerdom there as actually had something of interest to say!

Stuntnun · 25/03/2012 17:21

Forgot to mention but I'm in N. Ireland. I slept for eleven hours last night then got up and pottered around a bit then went back to bed for another three hours. I swear I'm still tired and I have to go out tonight and pretend to be awake and not pregnant! Anyone else so unbelievably tired?

BottleRed76 · 25/03/2012 18:11

Shinyblackgrape - We have St Mary's as a choice too and have been wondering which would be quicker to get to in rush hour - thinking ahead!

I think the thing that made the decision for me (other than the Doc having friend in profession choosing Wyth) was that I have heard about St Mary's closing to new patients on occasion. Also from chatting about both hospitals with Doctor St Mary's is a centre for higher risk births, so if you're having a normal healthy pregnancy and expected normal birth then there is a chance that you may get overlooked a little being lower risk.

Saying that - I haven't really done much research into Wythenshawe.

There's always home birth too... but not sure I'm brave enough for that.

Ideally I'd be going to Trafford Hospital which is very close, but they don't have a maternity service there anymore. Rather annoying.

soandsosmum · 25/03/2012 18:31

Hi can I join?
Got bfp today. DC2. (DD1 only 10m!)
EDD 21/11 I reckon

Now to read this incredibly chatty thread!

DesperateHousewife21 · 25/03/2012 18:32

Welcome katherine and congrats. It'll be lovely having siblings so close they'll play (and fight) together they'll be best friends!

stuntnun I've been so tired today I felt like I could literally sleep the whole day. I've been on another planet, head feels woozy and not with it at all. Hope I'm better tomorrow when dh goes back to work.

Elizadoesdolittle · 25/03/2012 18:36

Wow what a rollercoaster since I last looked at this thread.

essex so glad to read of a happy outcome for you. Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly.

I spent a fabulous day in a spa with my sister yesterday being pampered so felt very relaxed. Had a busy day today though so am back to feeling shattered again. I seem to be a lot more tired with this pregnancy but then I guess first time round I wasn't running after a 2yr old all day!

I can't remember now who it was that said they were in Kent (perhaps dh21) but I'm in Kent too Smile

Welcome to the new additions to this thread and congratulations on your BFPs.
