Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

Ooooh how exciting for Morgan but I wish people would just wait their turn!!

Went to a friends for dinner last night - was really good, had such a giggle, we played a game called Rapidough - anyone heard of it? Basically a bit like pictionary but with Playdoh, thought I was just gonna pop baby out I was laughing that hard!

Had a bad night's sleep though. On one of my many trips to the toilet I rolled over and it actually sounded like my pelvis had snapped (ok exaggeration) but it bloody hurt. I just seem to crack/click and ache all over at the moment. Am setting myself up for a day of '24' today and doin absolutely nothing

Don't think this baby is planning on making an appearance anytime soon. Still getting period type pains adn BHs but am guessing I will be blessed with these for the next couple of weeks, I hope he at least comes before or on his due date though (13th)

Tabs · 05/02/2006 10:29

Cuffy - they leave it 12 days in my area too. Have you had a sweep yet - they will normally try those at any point after you are due if you ask.

Flamesparrow · 05/02/2006 11:17

Yay for Morgan!!! Sat here and said "Oooh, waters gone!" and DH said "What?!?!", paused and looked up and said "Ah, who?"... how to panic him in one easy step .

I think I'm lucky with my DH - He'd never be brave enough to comment on my whinging . Too scared of the violence that would follow!!!!

I spent most of yesterday afternoon with my mum... she made the fatal mistake of joking about a date I could have the baby... never wise... There was shouting, and many many tears . On the bright side, I don't think she'll mention anything like it again, and has probably emailed my sister to warn her too!!!!

Feeling more positive today. Mum had DD over night, and although I was up half of it to wee, I had a reasonable night's sleep. Niggly aching bump and back today, but think its just your basic pregnancy aches.

Getting DD back at about 12, then giving her back to my mum after a few hours because one of DH's friends has invited us round for lunch/dinner . I think DH will be there most of the night, but I'll have to leave earlier to get DD home and bedded Still - its a break, and someone else cooking!

Pumped up the pool last night - couldn't seem to get it as firm as I would have hoped round the edges, but I think its firm enough because it has little supporty bits all round the inside. Didn't do the water - we're both too lazy . Went with the theory of if it leaks or anything, then there is sod all we could do now anyway! Its very comfy sat inside without water.

Think thats about all from this end - hope everyone has a calmer, less ARGH type day today!!!

cuffyj1 · 05/02/2006 12:13

Tabs i'm having a sweep on tuesday at mw appointment

Frizbetheexpansionset · 05/02/2006 12:27

Oooh cuffy, hope you start before Tue then, but if not, looks like we may have a midweek baby!

Flame glad pool ok and you have a good night!

Chloe ouch re cracks etc....

Jas, awww at your dd's, wish someone would think to do something like that around here (DH!) rather than just sounding like a time announcement whilst I'm trying to have a lie in....grrrr.....

Morgan, hurrah we have another on the way, hope all goes well for you ((((Hugs)))

Tictac, seeing as it was your suggestion that we have a midnight happening, and it has! (Morgan) may I suggest that you ask for another one tonight, possibly starting with hotmama, as she's well overdue now!!

Hotmama, also watched Dodgeball, whilst bouncing on my ball!! pmsl too recommend it for anyone whose not seen it!

Have a good rest of day ladies, no doubt I'll be lurking later on, as dh has declared he has more 'work' to do, but for now I'm dragging him out with dd for a walk!

Chloe55 · 05/02/2006 13:55

Have sent DH to Asda with my bro as I can't be bothered to go. They will be watching the footie later so no doubt I will be back on here again in a bit. God, I'm bored - I want to go into labour now just to give me something to do

3k · 05/02/2006 14:01

How exciting Morgan, hope all goes well for you.

Well I'm still here too, 3 days overdue now. Had a long walk with the dogs this morning over the fields, was surprised how far I actually got!!! Just going to do some ironing etc and hoping to go into labour later on!!! Have to see consultant in morning so he will probably book me for induction. I have well swollen legs too, lots of water retention it's horrible!!!

Chloe - I can sympathise with the pelvis clicking when turning over, it's nasty!!!!!!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 05/02/2006 17:06

Ouch 3k swollen legs, hope they're not hurting too much, they might induce you u know?
Chloe I too am bored to bits.....even tho we've been out this afternoon, dh and I spent most of it not speaking, as he was dying to get back home to do some work.....so he did lots of great interaction with dd, (swings at park, etc) being a great dad and all that, whilst sulking at me, cause I'd dragged him out........like helloo, its the weekend, family time? maybe? and my pregnancy hormones aren't helping, I could just go for a very long walk by myself right now, but suspect dd might not get fed any tea, or put to bed if I do that.....I know my stinking cold isn't helping my mood either.....never mind, in 5 weeks at the outside I should be with baby, and without bump, and hopefully in a better mood

MrsDoolittle · 05/02/2006 17:22

Hi Ladies. Goodluck Morgan, what good news.

I went to bed with the TENS machine on at about 8pm I was aching so badly. At one point I got out to go to the toilet and as I was getting back into bed I accidently moved the control swtich on the TENS. MY GOD, I'd switched it up to 7 from 2 and I nearly shot out of the bed!!! Frightened the life out of me

Anyway, I slept from about 3am until 9, which is good. I bounced out of bed and felt great for about hours. Now I just feel like a heffalump again.

OP posts:
hotmama · 05/02/2006 17:48

at Morgan - but hope everything is going well and a little baby Morgan is on the way.

Still here, and still aching - but nothing happening - so unless lightening strikes during the night I anticipate being on here tomorrow.

Even dd1 was on her way now - I can't believe I am a week overdue - for the record: curry, pineapple, RLT don't work (do I really have to consider sex ).

Anyway, at least I will have had dd2 by this time next week as I will be being induced on Thursday if nothing hasn't happened before.

Has anyone been induced? I really don't want to be as I understand that it is really painful and I wanted to have less pain relief than last time - think I might start a thread after looking in the archives.

Labour vibes to those who want them.

Tabs · 05/02/2006 18:10

Oh dear, we are a sorry bunch aren't we! I figure that one of us overdue lot must go into labour tonight - statistically it must be bound to happen. DH has decided that the less ready he can appear to be, the more likely it is to happen, so having spent half of the afternoon in the bath, he now isn't bothering to get dressed! Can't criticise him for that though - spent the afternoon in the other bath myself, and figured that if he wasn't getting dressed then nor am I!

Can't really go for walks due to pain of SPD, so am like prisoner in own home! Good job I got book of super sudoku puzzles for Christmas, or I don't know what I'd do to entertain myself!
Might find a film to watch later. Have a few stored on Sky+, and a load of DVDs that I haven't seen yet. Just not sure if I can concentrate on one thing for that long though!

ixel · 05/02/2006 19:19

Hotmama... I was induced last time, and to be honest, it wasn't all that nice. But I do wonder if it was alot to do with the fact that I'm crap at taking pain. And partly because I wasn't prepared for contractions to come that thick and fast. In any case, 3 inductions failed, so they're not going to bother doing it this time if it comes to that point again, and skip straight to c section. I wouldn't worry too much, as everyone is different etc. But if you're as feeble as me, I'd seriously consider an epidural, as it does all escalate very quickly. As a guide, the max mg they give you on the drip is 32, and I asked for the epidural at 12!!

Err, no baby here obviously, else I wouoldn't be typing!! No signs of anything except so itchy I can't bear it.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 05/02/2006 19:56

Just like to say Go Tabs! havin a go at the Fish like that!

Tabs · 05/02/2006 20:05

I aint scared of no fish!

TicTac · 05/02/2006 21:24

aww well I think it is a tad early in the night for me to wish some baby action (midnight seems to be an active time) but the way DD is "not" settling at the minue I think I willbe back on here later

Well I hope that one of the overdue ladies has some action tonight to get me through yet another sleep deprived evening....

On a plus note, a friend of mine has been trying for a baby for ages but nothing has been happening. She came here to visit DD and I and obviously gave DD lots of cuddles. She did a pg test the next day and it came back positive! She is just 5wks preg but phoned to tell me...we think my DD has magic baby making dust in her cuddles. So for all you overdue ladies...lets hope she has labour inducing dust too (when I type at midnight it is usually 1 handed while DD screams down my ear)

MrsDoolittle · 05/02/2006 22:39

I've just seen your post to Cod Tabs. I've never been one to hold an opinion about Cod really but I have to admit to feeling the barbed note in her tone. It's a shame as it does tend to leave a sour note on things. I wonder if she knows how offensive she can be sometimes

Other than that, I'm still sitting here. Dm has taken dd for me for a little while, which is a terrific help. Dh and I went out for a curry, which was my idea but not the greatest. Curry and heartburn don't go too well together.
All is very quiet here otherwise. Maybe this is the calm before the storm?

Good luck to all you other ladies waiting. Looking forward to more news soon.

MrsDoolittle · 05/02/2006 22:44

Oh and as for being induced.
My waters broke during the night last time and muconium was found to be present so I ended up hot footing it to delivery suite for an induction.
I have to admit to being completely overcome by the speed and severity of the contractions. Gas and Air made me dizzy and sick and it was likely that meptid would do the same. So despite, me saying the contrary so many times before labour I accepted an epidural. The relief was unbelievable. It was put in at about 9pm and dd was born 4 hours later.
But then, I don't have anything else to compare it with.

OP posts:
TicTac · 06/02/2006 00:28

You see... I told you I would be up around midnight to wish you some baby action

Mrs D - I had marconium in waters too but I knew my body was moving fast so refused an induction. We agreed I would be assessed 5 hours later and decide at that stage how far gone I was...I had DD less then 4 hours later with G&A. Fortunatly it didn't make me feel dizzy, I just kept my eyes shut and sucked away...I loved the stuff.

If only they could guarentee me an easy time for a second baby I think we would plan another now!

DD is 2 weeks old today

Oh, she just had a really good feed and DH is kindly winding her!

3k · 06/02/2006 00:30

Hi TicTac,

Pleeeeeassssseeeee can you pass some of that labour dust onto me!!!! Got to see consultant in morning and really want things to get moving!!!!

Glad Peyia had a good feed, fingers crossed you get some sleep now and a good rest

TicTac · 06/02/2006 00:40

3K - lots of baby induction dust coming your way! Go and jump up and down on the bed for 10 mins{grin]

3k · 06/02/2006 00:47

Thanks TicTac - just off to bed now so may wake DH up and jump up and down on the bed (he will think I'm absolutely mad!!!)

Frizbetheexpansionset · 06/02/2006 08:22

3k, here's lots of wishing your baby gets moving today then good luck with consultant.

Tictac congrats on two weeks
Make sure you wish your mate all the best from us as well

Mrs D, hmmmm, I know, some people get brave from behind their keyboards...I'd take her with a pinch of salt, she likes to bait.....

Well have had an awful nights sleep here, as dh has spent so much of this weekend working (albeit from home) I think this is worse for dd, as she thinks her dad is ignoring her, when he's really not, it just feels a bit that way sometimes, so she decided to wake up every hour/half hour during the night, crying out for him.......he's trotted off to work this am, with her still begging to see him.......luckily for me today is also a nursery day.......which she likes, so have just dropped her off there, phew, feel I need some calm before storm....was wondering if dd knows something I don't, re baby/can sense something may be going to happen, as she was even funny about her old cot this am, asking who was going in it etc, even tho its been in our room for weeks and we've explained it belongs to bump now......

Also have midwife home visit today to go thru all the home birth stuff yikes its really going to happen soon now!

Hope your all ok, and maybe we have some baby news today??

Tabs · 06/02/2006 09:07

TicTac's dust hasn't worked on me I'm afraid. Rubbish night's sleep as kept thinking that things might happen, but they never did. Guess the sweep hasn't worked - how long do they say it should take to take effect if it's going to?

Hope one of you others has been luckier overnight.

Chloe55 · 06/02/2006 09:21

Morning girls,

Think I have had the worst night's sleep I have had so far last night. Started getting tummy cramps again yesteray evening (but only really when baby moves) and a couple of BH but nothing to shout about. This continued through the night and I have got up this am feeling exactly the same. No sign of a show yet though Literally just feel like I am having a bad period with the pains but they seem enhanced when the baby moves about - does this mean anything? I'm presuming nothing is happening though and it is just more niggles.

Tabs - missed the fishbait - what was it all about?

Can't believe Peyia is 2 weeks old!!

Tabs · 06/02/2006 09:34

It was no big deal Chloe - just one of cod's snide remarks about the antenatal boards on this thread (post at 6:40pm) which I couldn't let slide without a comment.
