Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

Morning!

Took ds to dr, said is virus which is what i expected as he just feels rotten, but doesn't have ear ache etc Took him as temp so high for so long. Had better night last night, he slept till 3-45 and temp had only gone up to 38.5 rather than the 39.8 at 1am previos few nights and ws still normal half an hour ago so hope we are on the way out of it

Good luck today MrsD be pushy, apart from anything else SPD hurts like hell and is a good reason to get the baby out, hope all goes well.

Flame hope you are feeling better, I felt really sick last night and wondered if something was about to happen, I puked with every contraction with ds1 until was given jab to stop me, I had forgotten that until recently, isn't it amazing what the brain blocks out???

Any body else still out there can't remember what I've read so hope are all ok and have a good day, I am going to try to keep away more today and do something usefull as house is a tip

Well I might pop in to see if any chloe news every now and then

Flamesparrow · 14/02/2006 08:44

Frizbe - You're just nuts .

Helen - Glad to hear your son seems to be on its way out.

I feel poorly Head pounding and nose running lots. I think when I've got paracetamol and lots of honeyed tea inside me, I should start to perk up though. My back is aching sooo much, and I keep getting low twinges in my bump, but I suspect it is more the bump complaining about swimming yesterday .

Re sickness - anyone know if the midwife is allowed to bring the anti-sickness jab to a homebirth?? That was the reason I headed to hospital so early last time... if they don't I might have to go to the hospital, get jabbed, and then run away again!! I remember labour started, I felt really queasy, and decided that since I'd spent my entire pregnancy throwing up, I wasn't doing it for my labour too, so I just called the hospital and demanded my jab . Don't think DH has ever heard me be that forceful on the phone!!!

4B1P - Hoping you are in labour!!!!

Still not heard from Chloe Starting to worry a bit now, but I think that is probably just me being hormonal.

Helen38 · 14/02/2006 08:55

NOt doing housework yet then

Never been very housewifey but had been doing better until this last week when everything has fallen apart again Have complete lack of get up and go, shall try the same method i use with children and reward my self with chocolate if i do well

Tabs · 14/02/2006 09:04

MrsD - I've posted on the postnatal thread about afterpains, as am suffering really badly with them too. Paracetamol just aren't doing any good, so going to see pharmacist and doc if necessary today to see what else I can take. Frizbe - m/w did say no to nurofen, though didn't ask specifically why.

Will combine trip to Boots with an hour at bumps and babes - our first trip outside the house - scary!!

Helen38 · 14/02/2006 09:07

and... flame, try not to worry about chloe, shes prob having such a wondferful time with her little boy she's forgotten all about us, plus she went in sat, depending when she delivered she may not be home yet, i was in 2 nights with ds1 and c-secs you can be in for 5 nights.

There is no way that my dh will be posting on here for me, so you will only find out from me once i can get to the computer. In fact if he realised how much time I was spending on here he would think i had gone mad, plus point at the state of the house and make a link, which there isn't cos i have always been hopeless

Helen38 · 14/02/2006 09:09

Took so long to get boys to let me type that post i forgot to say mw told me afterpains worst with 3rd and to make sure had lots of ibruprofen in the house, so she think i can have them. Also was given them post c-sec in hospital so surely they must be ok????

Jasnem · 14/02/2006 09:09

Morning,

Frizbe - no, it's just you!. I have almost no interest in food at all lately (not like me) and haven't noticed a smell thing.

4b1p - we're all hoping a bit of assertiveness (or tears and refusing to move 'til they induce you!) does the trick today.Good luck.

Helen - glad ds is on the mend. Hope you are ok too.

Sickness - can't think of a reason why midwife wouldn't be allowed to carry anti-sickness jab...but I don't know. Was only sick once or twice with mine (didn't know how lucky I was ), so never needed it. Do you see the m/w again soon, Flame to ask? If not I'd ring and request it now just in case it's not part of their kit. Maybe they can get it for you, if they know you're likely to need it.

I spent the night fighting with DP for the douvet, so tonight we will be having one each! He's got some work this week so was up at 6, so at least I got to go back to sleep and spread out then. And the girls played really nicely 'til nearly 9 am!!!!!!

Going to take them out this am (I am turning into a complete couch potato), so better get breakfat sorted.

I will check in frequently, too, in case of news from Chloe, or 4b1p.
Not that I couldn't stay away if I wanted to...

Yeah, I know... I just worry easy .

I'll be texting Chloe or Frizbe (if we have joint labours it could be interesting ) if I can't get online myself. If all else fails, I'll get my friend to come and post... she used to be an MN regular, so should be able to find her way to you all easily

Jasnem · 14/02/2006 09:19

Took me ages to type all that, wantto add about afterpains/ibuprofen. I didn't suffer too badly with either of mine (so don't tell me the third is terrible, I don't want to know), but wanted to take something for sciatica which flared up after the births. Midwife, pharmacist and dr all refused to allow anything except paracetamol because I was breastfeeding. I even considered bf at on e point as it was so bad - a big thing for me, as I found it quite easy and was otherwise very motiveted.

I do think it's the same as when you're pregnant though, and they just haven't tested things onbf mothers. You get given all kinds of stuff in hospital and it doesnt seem to hurt, so I will probably take ibuprofen occasionally this time if I feel I need it unless someone can give me a real reason not to.

Jasnem · 14/02/2006 09:23

My DP is also not willing/able to post for me, so I'll just have to leave you all in suspense when I have mine. Hope to be home pretty quickly, so assume if I disappear for more htan 2 days I've had another c s!

Has anyone paid the £5 to cat? I really haven't got the money at the mo, so cant swap mobile nos. If you have, and want to, I could send a text.

Helen38 · 14/02/2006 13:22

Where is everyone today?

Have failed so far, had 3 fone calls, checking hos ds is and have you had it yet type calls. Then made the mistake of sitting down and dozed for a bit, off for some lunch then to try again

Who's in labour today????

Helen38 · 14/02/2006 13:23

That should be how ds is, really should check things before I post

Flamesparrow · 14/02/2006 13:38

Jas, not paid the £5, but I'll give you my email address if you want to email me (don't feel obliged to though) - flamesparrow at hotmail dot com (so imaginative ).

Helen - I've done some dishes, and washed the swimming towels from yesterday, and thats about it. DD just gone out with my mum, and probably not seeing her again til tomorrow (I get all and at the same time about that).

Back still aching lots, and the odd stomach cramp, but no show or anything and bump still fairly high. About to go and sleep for as long as possible... hopefully I'll either wake up feeling oodles better, or in labour. Don't care which! Still snotty, but sinusy pain gone.

xxxx

Helen38 · 14/02/2006 13:45

Have a good sleep flame. Know what you mean about feeling and about dd going, i have found it much easier since having 2 of them as they are together even if not with me, right now I would love to lose them for a day so i could sleep

Chloe55 · 14/02/2006 14:16
