Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

Well, I'm feeling pretty pathetic today.
This is going to sound silly, but I'm not sure if I'm having contractions or not...I've been so sick today I can't tell if the pain I'm getting is early labour, or just my stomach spasming from being sick!
I've sent DP out for an hour ( he may have some work for next week, )and I'm going to go to bed as soon as the kids are settled this evening.
If it gets worse, I'll report in the night...If not I'll be all red faced tomorrow.

Jasnem · 12/02/2006 18:40

Mrs D's birth story is on!
Prepare for tears...

4blue1pink · 12/02/2006 19:22

where is it jas?

MarsOnLife · 12/02/2006 19:26

There you go ladies MrsD's story... hankies to the ready!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 12/02/2006 19:28

Oooooh I shall go and look for that one, so I take it congrats are in order for Mrs D, 3k - well done for posting her dh! and Morgan!! hurrah we have another batch of babies at last!!

4b1p and Jas, {{{{Big Hugs}}}} re you both feeling horribly ill.... hope you both get better soon

Hotmama, hope all is ok with you, seeing as we haven't heard from you in a few days.......

Flame/Helen/Thell and anyone else I may have forgotten, how's your day been?

Mine got better once I dragged myself out the house, went to the GP's and got taken out to lunch by them (with dd!)
Came home and dh has tidyed our room up, but I still can't get to bumps stuff/in that room.....am living in hope of it happening tomorrow, as dh has the next two days off (and we're all off to see Bob the Builder on Tue, a nice family day out!)

Flamesparrow · 12/02/2006 19:31

Still crying now... think I will be for a while!!

Congratulations 3K - 3K's DH... you win the award for most prompt husband

I can't believe how emotional MrsD's whole labour and birth has been for me. Anyone who looks down their nose at internet forums is stupid - they have no idea how powerful they can be.

Jas - Hopefully the start of things for you. You'll make me feel better if it is just sickness based though - makes me seem less silly when I am convinced things are starting and its nothing .

Very achey today, and just plain exhausted. My mum seems to be improving, so she might have DD for a while tomorrow... if she does I am ignoring all housework - not that there is much now, I've been keeping on top of it, and just going to bed!

Jasnem · 12/02/2006 19:34

Wondered for a minute why your general practitioner was taking you out for lunch, then Frizbe.
There must be a bit of hope now that your DH has started tidying. Just kep mentioning the seperate rooms idea - it seems to have done the trick!

Flamesparrow · 12/02/2006 19:37

Oooh ooh ooh... two bits of excitement here -

  1. DD pooed in a potty!!!! (Ok, she's just pooed in a nappy now too, but one in the potty is excellent in my view... even got to eat smarties half way through dinner as a reward!!!)

  2. DH finally got in the loft, and the sterilser that everyone has been telling me I sold - has been found! I knew I wasn't insane!!!

Jasnem · 12/02/2006 19:37

I'm not a cryer normally (didn't cry when I gave birth myself, )but Mrs D has had me in floods too.

Think it's just me being a drama queen. Really I hope this isn't it, as I feel so tired and rough at the moment.

Going to go to bed now, though, just in case.

4blue1pink · 12/02/2006 19:40

Congrats mrs D but your birth story sounds frightenng to say the least!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 12/02/2006 19:42

Yeah! the potty, congrats to your dd Flame!!

lol Jas I tell you who could take me out for dinner, the nice young junior doc, on rotation when dd had her final hip check, could hear him getting told off (by one of the nurses!) for letching at a mum with a patient, as I left the room, now he was dishy did my ego loads of good as well!

ixel · 12/02/2006 20:29

Congrats to everyone I'm just catching up with
Spent all morning in bed, as was up all night... cant breathe in bed, and ds still has conjunctivitis. He got up at 3am but couldn't open his eyes, fell out of bed and screamed the place down

Well, I'm still here waiting, so your prediction was wrong Tabs!!

MarsOnLife · 12/02/2006 23:16

hi ixel! How you doing?

ixel · 12/02/2006 23:23

Hi Mars. Was thinking about you yesterday! I haven't forgotten your offer. We're covered until 21st Feb... if I'm any later than that, my birth partner will be sunning herself on a free holiday (dont blame her!), so I might still need you if you're available! Have my overdue appointment this Thursday, where another c section will be booked , presumerably for a week later. Hopefully it wont come to that...

MarsOnLife · 12/02/2006 23:34

if you email me on lovelymarslady at aol dot com I'll give you my mobile so that if you need me you can get me!

Here's hoping it's not another section.

Helen38 · 13/02/2006 08:25

Morning all!

Still here, baby never coming out!

Congrats to 3k and mrsd, what a birth story, could hardly read it through tears pouring down my face. Hope you are both enjoying your lovely new babies and a little bit

Chloe??????????

Off to try to phone dr as ds1 still poorly, temp been going up to nearly 40 on and off all weekend monday morning could be hard to get through.

Will check in later see what's new!

Jasnem · 13/02/2006 08:37

Morning,

Nothing happening here. Just me panicing overnight.
Feel much better this am (not really difficult!).

Helen - hope you get your DS sorted, it's no fun looking after poorly kids.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 13/02/2006 08:46

Morning all whose for a baby this week then??

Helen, you should know better than that, and your on my list for people who stand more chance than others of dropping this week
Hope doc gets ds sorted out for you, like Jas says, its no fun when they're poorly.....

Ixel, sending you lots of labour vibes, hopefully you'll kick off this week??
Your poor ds with his sticky eyes as well, bless.

Hope you all have a good day anyway, will try to pop on later, but lots of boring accounts to get done, so should really crack on......

Helen38 · 13/02/2006 09:00

Yay, after 16 mins of redialing have got dr appointment for ds!

So will be at surgery for 9-30 mw then back this pm with him. Unless I go into labour Although could be more likely due to my having poorly boy and germs in the house, just what you want with a new baby. Waiting for no2 to get it now. I know dr will say it's a virus but has had high temp since thurs so a long time really so we wll go.

How is everyone feeling today? I too much over weekend for me to take in have a feeling that someone is feeling rotten and there are poorly children around so hugs to those who need them

I want to know if chloe has got a baby

Anyone know?

Mine pretended a bit again last night, had lots of lowdown pains in pelvis, hope was head moving down, still feel crampy, if i am still here in march i shall be sooooooooo grumpy mind you too tired to have a baby today as had 4 bad nights with small boy getting hot and coughing at me need some sleep first as won't get any after

Flamesparrow · 13/02/2006 09:25

Oooh ooh! I have Chloe's mobile number.... do I text her a quick "Is everything ok?" (Forgot I had it ).

Ixel - Your poor DS!!! I've woken with my eyes all stuck together with conjunctivitus before, and its scary enough as an adult, let alone a child

Helen - hope yours is feeling better soon. Better to go to doctor and be told "virus" than not go and worry.

I have arranged with this bump that I am going into labour on Wednesday (have probably got it too fixed in my mind now, I'll be so confused when it doesn't happen ).

Did something this morning that I've not done throughout two whole pregnancies... took cough medicine Worrying now that it will have had some terrible thinning effect on the baby's blood or something! I woke up at 5am with DD crying that her legs hurt, and it hurt sooo much just to breathe that when I went to find calpol for her, I found medicine for me too. A while ago DH went through our cough mixtures and told me which had the least in it in the way of active ingredients, so hopefully it won't be anything dangerous... I am trying to tell myself that it is all down to the ethical thing of not being able to test on pregnant women.

Nasty cough now, but the pain has gone. Drinking my RLT with oodles of honey to soothe it.

Jas - you did make me feel better about all the times I am convinced I'm in labour .

Not a lot planned so far today - hoping my mum will get all enthusiastic and bond with DD ... unless she suggests swimming, and then I'm going too - the idea of feeling light seems soooo good.

Flamesparrow · 13/02/2006 09:47

Sent her a text.... Now got the whole waiting thing!

Thell · 13/02/2006 10:22

Wow, Mrs D ! What a story!
Congratulations on getting through it - and how exciting to have a whole crowd of MNetters rooting for you!!
And Congrats to Morgan and 3K too

No news here really - yesterday was very sedate, as DH still pretty rough. I woke up with a slight sore throat this morning, so I'm hoping my Super-Pregnancy Immune System will keep this horrid cold at arm's length!

Night before last I dreamt I was at sa hotel, and there was another woman there who gave birth. When she had delivered, I remember thinking that it was my turn now - I reached down and could feel the baby's head crowning - but the pains stopped, I kept pushing but nothing happened, and then the head went away again!! Very frustrating!! It's probably just me having a difficult time imagining it actually happening to me.

Midwives will (finally!) be here soon for home visit - HURRAH!

Oh - and I woke up today with lots of angry, sore, red stretch marks running downwards from my belly button . I made it to 38 weeks without getting any!! Grrrrrrr.....

Flamesparrow · 13/02/2006 10:24

Yup - my new ones appeared last Thursday - before that it was just the left over ones from DD. As my mum said to me though - there are so many women in the world who can't have babies, and would kill for stretchmarks

Thell · 13/02/2006 10:28

Hmmmmm

I don't mind really - I had enough of them already from puberty - they're just sore and itchy!!

Thell · 13/02/2006 10:30

Flame, Have you already set up your pool?
We're planning to do a 'dry run' later today, if DH is up to it. Ours will have to go in the dining room too - and will virtually fill it!
Not sure how this will all work out practically, but at least if I have to get out during labour, the living room is only a short crawl away!!
