Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

I have to admit to smiling alot at the frquent mentions of "Mummy was sick again" in the birth story.
Thankfully my DP won't be timing my vomiting, so I can just lie!

Pippa is beautiful though...making me all broody

4blue1pink · 11/02/2006 17:58

Am i the most overdue now? or not?

Had enough - been on a walk - tried pineapple- tried 'natural prostaglandins' not even a bh in sight ....

Now trying feeling blue!

Jasnem · 11/02/2006 18:14

pretty sure you are
Must be extremely frustrating when those who aren't due yet are having theirs, but you can't go on much longer. Were your others late?

I must stop!!

How is everyone

Jasnem · 11/02/2006 18:22

Feel free to moan _ I intend to when I'm overdue
I'm bored of half term already (not a good sign!) but ok otherwise.

4b1p your very entitled to moan, I was a complete cow on my 1st day overdue last time, by the time dd did arrive and that was only 5 days late, dh hardly dare speak to me!

Thell {{{{Big Hugs}}}}} re the house move/unpacking and a poorly dh, must be a mare....

Well girls, s'cuse me but I'm gona have a moan! think its just because I'm knackered, but getting rather p off with dh as he's done sod all today again.........he reckons he's doing some work.....but so far as I've seen he's doing computer games..........have been left with dd all day, and ss some of the day (like he comes down to see me ya know) Have done best to entertain all concerned, keep fed and watered, thus have managed the weekly shop and car cleaning, outside only, plus quick tidy of garden (people throwing rubbish over fence ie a bloomin aftershave bottle?? huh/things blowing over) 4 loads of washing, a bit of ironing still to do, plus a trip to park for dd, as ss wanted to play computer by this time......am just knack'd and its my day off too...........
and am v.grouchy now, cause he's 'working' tomorrow as well.......and has bumps room still to clear out, harharharharharhar, a pushchair to put together, teeeeee heeeeeee, the garage to sort, like that's ever going to happen......ss's room still to sort.....our's looks like a tip and I'm having a home birth, harharharharharhar......
So very sorry for the moan, but sometimes, its nice to whitter at people who can just take it or leave it you know!
Will have bath and early night me thinks....

Flamesparrow · 12/02/2006 08:43

4B1P - You moan as much as you like - you are more than entitled to it!!!!

Frizbe - Similar situation here... yes, DH let me have a very long lie in yesterday, but he is expecting one in return today (dunno how long I'll actually let him have though, feel like poo), but he never dresses DD of his own accord, which I know doesn't really matter, but just once, it'd be sooo nice to be presented with a clothed child, rather than one running round in pj top. He has done no housework since I got on top of it all - this morning I got up to find his wine glass and everything else he had last night still in the lounge. Discs that apparantly need throwing out are scattered across the floor, as was DD's computer game disc - the box is on the desk!!!! He sat it on top of the box!!!!

I'm going out with my mum later to get an ironing board and something to use as a curtain (suddenly realised that the dining room - where the birth pool is - has no curtain and a HUGE window ), I might leave DD behind (will be easier anyway), and possibly a few "highly important" jobs... one definately involves going in the loft, and I feel sure I can make up some others.... Do you think it would be a bit far fetched that I can't possibly relax in labour unless the dvds are in alphabetical order? (all the more fun a job to give a dyslexic ).

Sorry... a tad bitter. Been awake on and off most of the night - I forgot about the effects curry has been having on me until after I stuck it in the oven Spent all night trying to ease heartburn, and not to move very much so that I wasn't sick... so not the best night's sleep, especially as when I did sleep I had bad dreams!

Wonder when we'll hear some news....

Flamesparrow · 12/02/2006 09:01

I think I might have been better off last time by knowing no other pregnant women when I was overdue last time... my most vivid memory of being overdue is of sitting watching Charmed, sobbing hysterically "see, even Piper gets to have her baby before me" . The idea of it being real people having their babies before me probably would have tipped me over into complete insanity (because by getting upset over fictional tv births, I was clearly still well within sane boundaries?? )

Jasnem · 12/02/2006 09:03

morning - I feel rough too this am. Curry last night, leading to massive heartburn, followed by V&D this morning. I'll get the kids fed and bathed (DP doesn't do much practical stuff either) then go back to bed I think.
He said something yesterday about taking them out, so I'll remind him in a mo.

We need baby news - I think there should be at least four births to hear about.

Oh thanks for listening girls, he did say at breakfast this am, that he's clear a path thru to bumps drawers!! so I told him I'd been thinking, it might be wise for us to purchase a single bed and for bump and I to share a room for the next 6mths, thus him and all his rubbish/work could be in one room all together, where he can have as many tunnels and as much mess as he likes and I don't have to go into look at it, and it doesn't affect the rest of the house.......he said 'are you suggesting seperate beds?' I said 'only for the next 6mths dear, then we can review the situation' and he stomped off upstairs, I can now hear the sound of cleaning!!!
However I'm also starting to think my idea might be a good one, as at least he'll get sleep that way as well, rather than me having to put up with the off to the sofa, due to small baby up all night huffs........oh I dunno........

lol re the curatins flame!

biglips · 12/02/2006 10:15

hi... had anyone heard from Hotmama yet?? (she is on our postnatal Oct 04 thread and we've not heard anything as yet)

Flamesparrow · 12/02/2006 10:28

Nope Hoping that she is cuddling her baby lots and just too distracted to get on here.

Morgan · 12/02/2006 12:08

Hi all - sorry it has taken so long to post but i can announce the arrival of Lauren Emma on Monday 6 Feb (i know) at 2.17pm weighing 6lb14oz. She is lovely and doing well. The birth was strange as nothing much happened for about 30 hours and then the oxytocin kicked in and she was born 2 hours later so from 1cm dilated to birth in two hours. I was in hospital for two days (standard stay here) and home on Weds.

Not had time to read the thread probably but huge congrats to all the others with babies. Tabs - well done and welcome to Pippa.

Flamesparrow · 12/02/2006 13:28

Disgraceful! Spending a few days with your new child rather than announcing her to a bunch of mad women !! That last bit of your labour sounds bloody fast (and I'm suspecting painful!!!).

Enjoy your little lady!!!!

Tabs · 12/02/2006 14:45

Yay - congrats Morgan - love the name Lauren.

Bet this will be a quiet thread today with everyone in labour!

3k · 12/02/2006 14:48
