Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

I had 1 lot of gel, went to bed then they broke my waters in the morning about 6-30 i think. contractions started straight away and ds1 was born at 13-42 2 hrs of that was pushing as his hand was on his head!
I did it with just a tens machine, so I don't feel that induction is a bad thing.

I can still remember so clearly the rush of love I felt when I saw this tiny little person being lifted onto my tummy (brushes tears away at the thought) it is beautiful, yes it hurts but the joy your baby will bring is more than worth it. (pukes at own cheeseyness) but it's true otherwise idiots like me wouldn't be doing it again and again!!!!!!!!!!

Helen38 · 10/02/2006 15:12

Can I just send extra hugs to those doing this for the first time, When you have been through it before you can forget how scarey it was first time, i was soooooo scared until the time came and then I was fine, I'm sure you all will be too
I have made myself really want this one to come bt writing the last post, I want to meet the new member of my family.

MrsDoolittle · 10/02/2006 15:14

I have to agree with Helen. I was induced first time (waters broke overnight and muconium was present) and truth be told, it's not as bad as you may be led to believe. Mine wasn't all that bad. I was just really grateful to have a beautiful, beautiful baby girl 6 hours later

Anyway, contractions are coming think and fast now. Dog walking has done the trick. I'm going in now shortly. Contractions are 7-8 minutes apart but it's the rectal pressure that's the worse bit!!!

Goodluck ladies!!

I was induced with syntocinon so a bit different to yours Helen.

Going now........

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 15:15

yay!! All emotional at the thought of another baby on its way....

Helen38 · 10/02/2006 15:17

good luck!

3k · 10/02/2006 15:20

Mrs D good luck, hope all goes well for you.

Thanks for the advice Helen, feeling a bit more reassured now. I think it is nerve racking first time as loads of people like to tell you how bad it is. I've lost count of friends and family who tell you how awlful it is that you forget you have a little baby at the end of it who will make it all worthwhile.

Think I will take my doggies for walkies later too and see if it gets my one moving

Frizbetheexpansionset · 10/02/2006 15:58

Mrs D much good quick birthing luck your way, and you too Chloe

Silly me, posted on the Jangus thread last night, not realising it was anged's name change, doh!!

3k well at least things are on the move with another show! fingers x'd things speed up for you soon

4b1p must be you soon hon {{{{{Hugs}}}}}

Oh poor ds Helen, hope he's better for you later on today and you get a good nights sleep, looks like us 3 will be the last on the list then!

Flame, no nap is good stuff re night sleep, alas my dd is sleeping at mo, although she's recovering from a cold and has been dragged out for a walk/play on park/picnic lunch with ss today, as dh's computer appears to be having a heating problem (the internal fan is buggered) and has put itself to sleep.......so ss didn't get to play wow and is mighty miffed, and there's no way I was sitting in the house with a bunch of stir crazy kids! kinda hoping the walk, all be it at dd's pace, might help shift this baby

Jasnem · 10/02/2006 16:26

HI,
don't forget me...I think I'll be around for a long while yet, too.

Spent a lovely relaxing am with my friend, then DP came home and decided to start building a new shed, so we cleared tons of rubbish out of the garden, he bought lots of woods, and has taken the girls to the tip with him (another fun day out for them).

It was quite sweet watching him teaching DD2 to saw wood though. She loves to help.

I think I'm more scared this time than before. I was totally chilled with my first (I'm not usually a worrier), and had such a good experience, I was really confident with my second. After the problems I had with her, though, I am definitely more nervous, mostly because of the uncertainty, this time round.
Feeling quite positive today though, so am just going to keep busy, and baby will come one way or another, when its ready.

Who's taking bets on if Chloe or MrsD deliver first? All very exciting stuff. Good luck to you both.

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 16:46

Sorry Chloe, but I'm voting for Mrs D.

As good as no naps may be... I have a sobbing DD on my lap because Daddy has dared to go to the loo alone Think 3 days in a row is all getting too much - she'll be in bed by 7!

I keep thinking you've already had yours Jas . I'm more scared this time too - labour didn't bother me in the slightest last time, but this time I am more anxious (not overly, but definately more).

Jasnem · 10/02/2006 17:46

Oooh Flame, what did I have?

4blue1pink · 10/02/2006 17:51

flame ....guess what i have done ...let ds sleep for over 3 hours this afternoon...not good !!!

i will regret it later but he is lovely now!

Chloe55 · 10/02/2006 18:01

I think I would too! Contractions have become much stronger - unable to talk through the pain and they are lasting on average a minute but.......they hav become more irregular now! I spent about 3 hours of them coming exactly 21 mins apart but haven't had one now for at least 40 mins. Just had another show which seemed huge! Got the tens on as backache is very unpleasant but have resigned myself to a long night. I just hope that it is just taking it slowly and that I am not having a pseudo-labour.

Oh, no rectal pressure Mrs D but I seem to be feeling a lot of the contraction in my back. Bloody hell - just had to take time out, talking of having no contraction for a while just had a killer - very much in the front this time though. Wow, that one took me by surprise!

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 18:01

A boy... I was thinking you were one of the ones to even the numbers!!!

4B1P - DD is now pure evil, mixed with hyper... Daddy is preparing her tea now, and then she is going straight to bed!!!

Just had a text from my mum, she's come down with a bad cold. Feel sooo selfish because I sat and sobbed at DH because she is meant to be having DD a lot next week - the thought of her being poorly and me still having no time without DD is too much to take right now. DD might be evil with no nap, I am just very emotional

Jasnem · 10/02/2006 18:47

4B1P - a 3 hour nap is going to be a killer later on! My sympathies.

Flame - at least you might get an early night. Hope your mum gets better really quickly.

Chloe - sorry, but my vote's with Mrs D too, but only because this is your first. Hope you are getting as much rest as you can.

I'm off out tonight , so I'll check in again in the morning.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 10/02/2006 20:22

Jas, we would never forget you!

Go CHloe, reckon you'll speed up now, after your killer contraction, have a bath, that usually helps to give things a boot in the right direction!

Flame, hope dd's gone to bed ok, we're one in bed, with minor mipeing here and one still on the sofa, wish dh would hurry up and get him to bed, as I'm knackered and could do with an early night myself!!

ixel · 10/02/2006 21:40

Still here [bored emotion]....
Ds has been sick 7 times in the last 24 hours; not easy to change the sheets on a VW Beetle shaped bed when you cant bend!! So I should be grateful that 2 of the mega vomits were in our bed!!

Hey Tabs, I like your prediction that I'll be overdue, listing me even though I've got a day to go. What faith

3k · 11/02/2006 00:52

Progress report!!!!!!!

My waters broke at 5pm today, was just going to get the ironing board out and felt a small gush. Put a pad on and waited and had several more gushes so at around 10pm I had a bath and called delivery suite who told me to go in. They have confirmed waters have gone, I am now at home as 0cm dilated and have to go back in at 5pm Sat afternoon for induction if nothing starts before hand. Just having a hot choccie and trying to calm myself down as excited and scared at the moment at the prospect of what is to come. Will report more later on if anything happens.......

Chloe55 · 11/02/2006 06:34

Contractions became regular at 3am this am, every 10 minutes and now are at every 7mins so delivery suite informed and just waiting for them to be 5 mins apart.

Good luck everyone else

trace2 · 11/02/2006 08:20

good luck Chloe55 you might just get to see cuffy after all

MrsDoolittle · 11/02/2006 08:42

Chloe - I'm still here. I was going to go in at 7am but apparently I've a way to go yet before I'm in established labour. I've been contracting since 2am!! I've got my TENS on and i'm just discovery what a lonley experience this is

OP posts:
Jasnem · 11/02/2006 08:44

Good luck 3k and Chloe!
This is so exciting, it's definitely taking my mind off the complete lak of action here.
Got to get dressed and go to the shops as I drank all the milk last night, and there's none for the kids breakfast.
