Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

Flame, chill girl, we're not due for another 2 weeks and most of them don't really come early you know (runs away and ducks)

Helen, my mate had her third 2 weeks ago in an hour! (think I posted it on here?) so fingers x'd your as quick, sorry about your hosp stay tho, hope ds is feeling ok, or is his temp still up?

Chloe, you go girl, lots of speedy birthing wishes

Mrs D, hope you have your baby by now as well

Have a good day all, may be on here, may not, as have ss to entertain as well as dd (inset day at school), although he's currently begging to be allowed to play world of warcraft, so may well manage to loose him to that, although that would be bad parenting right!

Helen38 · 10/02/2006 09:09

In fact it looks like everyone but the 2 of us could be having them as we speak!!!!

Helen38 · 10/02/2006 09:10

oops 3 of us, hi frizbe

Helen38 · 10/02/2006 09:12

ok so now i read your message, ds bit floppy but ok, waiting for calpol to wear off to see how he is, only got temp and bit of a cough.

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 09:37

I know, I know... just waited soooo long last time, I feel owed a nice early one .

Losing SS to WoW isn't a bad thing - he is learning strategy and team work and stuff, so gotta be classed as educational really when you think about it....

Just realised I never actually replied to your post Helen!!! Hope you're feeling better now. I am lucky, DD's bug never really developed into anything.

I need to be strong today - she must not nap... 2 days with no nap, 2 easy bedtimes... tidied her room yesterday, and it is STILL tidy now!!! A normal nap day and bedtime would mean every toy owned would be over her floor by now!

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 09:42

Oooh, just read in birth announcements... Jangus (angedemarche) had her c-section yesterday!!!

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 09:47

here

4blue1pink · 10/02/2006 10:04

Jange ( due 1st March ) Mrs D (20th Feb) ...Congratulations ladies that things are moving for you both - in different ways but..........where's my baby due 6th Feb

I swear i feel like i have mumps this morning going to look it up! Just another thing to moan about!!

Chloe55 · 10/02/2006 10:09

Hi girls, well if you read the link it might be happening but I am still uncertain. Rang the midwife who seemed a little worried that I might have leaked a bit of amniotic fluid as well as the show as it was very watery. Have been getting cramps about every 15/20 mins but I just don't think they are painful enough to be anything if that makes sense - grrrrr I hate this not knowing. DH has decided notto going into work so lets hope something comes of it or it will be a wasted paternity day. Soz, not much time to comment on anything else as have DH with me. Gonna walk the dog and try and get things moving progressively.

MrsDoolittle · 10/02/2006 10:25

Oh My God!!
Same story here. I was woken up at 2 am with HUGE contractions, shocked me - I've been niggling for weeks. Rang my mw who said have a cup of tea, time them and see when they become regular. They didn't, I was tried with a cold, got bored waiting and went back to bed. Never phoned her back!
Next thing I know it's 7 am. Spoke to MW at 8am and we agreed he wasn't ready to come yet but I needed to rest to get over my cold.
That was then, I am getting waves of contractions now every 15 minutes since then (here we go agaain) but they aren't excruciating. They seem to start from my centre IYSWIM

(I've cut and pasted - Sorry )

Dh has gone to work - he's about 15 minutes away

Morning ladies,
I'm still here, busy not having a baby... saw the midwife this am, baby is still4/5 (out) and showing no signs of coming early.
She did mention the 3rd baby being difficult thing (wasit Helen said about that?), but tried to reassure me that as my no. 2 was terrible,I'm due an easy one! I'm prepared to try and believe that, as I'm getting quite worried.
The friends I've got with three, have all had easy deliveries with their third, so I'm sticking to the theory that it's just another old wives tale.

Congrats to cuffyand baby boy, and to Jangus.

Best wishes to Chloe and Mrs D. Hope for more births soon - they are all coming now!

4B1P - big labour vibes to you. It can't be much longer.

Completely lost track of who's doing what, so hope everyone is well, and will try and check in later.
Got to get kids dressed now (inset day here, too), then my friend is coming to give me a reflexology treatment this am

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 11:41

Awwww, poor 4B1P Sending lots of pushy outy thoughts!!!

Chloe and MrsD - don't sound like fun

I have finally put away all of DD's clothes (had a HUGE pile sat waiting. Half of it looks horrible though because it needs ironing, and I haven't got a new ironing board since mine fell to pieces.

Chloe55 · 10/02/2006 12:25

Still here, contractions still coming every 15 minutes apart but they are still not really painful so I'm still none the wiser. Will be so peed off if nothing comes of today Hope things are a bit more hopeful your way MrsD.

Helen38 · 10/02/2006 12:32

Hope things keep going for you chloe and you get to meet your little one today.

Must admit a little but lets face it, one thing is sure they will all come out at some point!

MrsDoolittle · 10/02/2006 12:58

Same as you I'd say Chloe. Definitly 15 or so minutes apart but not excruciating. Dh has come home for lunch and he's not going back this afternoon.
Very very stiff though, as really strange feeling. Chloe are you getting rectal pressure? I am and I 'cleared out' this morning.
Think it's just one sllllooowww progression.

Sunny day though, still wondering if I dare go out with the dog. Might, now that dh is home with me.

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 13:02

Might as well Mrs D - it'd take your mind off it, and the exercise might speed things up (and gravity ).

3k · 10/02/2006 13:17

Ooooo how exciting, hope Chloe and Mrs D are on the way.

Congrats to Cuffy - 9lbs 2oz - WOW!!!!! And welcome home to Tabs too, hope you are getting some rest with little Pippa.

Well nothing much to report here, had another show last night although only a small one, still having period pain and getting fed up!! I'm being induced on Monday if he doesnt come before and I dont want to be, cant think of anything worse!!

Any news with Hotmama?

Helen38 · 10/02/2006 13:50

Sorry to argue but lots of things worse than being induced, I realise that not everyone has as good experience as I did but at the end of the day we all just want healthy babies don't we?

Sorry if that came out wrong but i know lots of people who have had lots of problems and I was nearly induced with ds2 but they changed their minds cos wanted to avoid a c-sec then 2 days later he turned and I had one anyway, I would have prefered to be induced. This time I want to avoid it if I can because of my scar.

I know it's not anyones first choice but I do feel that if you go into it stressed about it it will only make it worse, if you relax a bit and just focus on meeting your beautiful baby, as they say, it will all work out in the end

Hope that didn't sound like a lecture, just think people need to chill a bit, might make babies come quicker if we all relaxed about it, just have a curry and lots of sex tonight!

TicTac · 10/02/2006 14:08

Good luck chloe - don't go wishing the really painful contractions TOO soon, I went straight into those ones and they do kinda hurt like hell

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 14:14

Nooo... no curry after my last experience .

I think you're probably right about the inductions... my friend was induced with 3 of hers for various reasons, did each birth on just gas and air, so the pain aspect wasn't an issue (and one of those was with broken ribs).

I am much more relaxed today about the whole waiting thing (in spite of my faces ). I'm looking forward to next week and doing lots of one to one (well, 2 to 1 really, my mum is there to make it much easier) with DD.

Back from m/w appointment. Head is still down, but completely free - I am convinced it was at least partially engaged yesterday, so it could have been the wriggling out again that hurt so much in the night (and produced new stretchmarks with it!!). All is fine, next appointment is 24th when she says that she'll do a sweep if I want one. I'm slightly dehydrated, so have been given orders to drink more.

The only thing that makes me go argh, no inductions, is that I don't like the hospital where they induce!

Tabs · 10/02/2006 14:23

Have no fear - stat's girl's here! (though not for long as feeding time!)

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 14:31

Oooh you lovely lady!!!! Anyone noticing that our girls and boys are evening up?

3k · 10/02/2006 14:53

Helen - I'm not sure why I'm scared about induction, think it is the long hospital stay thing as I have to go in Monday evening but the midwife said it can take a few days to get me into labour. Not done this before so was hoping to labour a lot a home then go in when I am ready. I'm not feeling too tense about it all at the moment, just a bit impatient I suppose as just want to meet the baby now and part of me wants the birth over and done with as I am sh*tting myself Think once I get going I will be ok but would love baby at home now - keep thinking to myself "this time next week"!!!! Did you have the gel and how long did it take to get things moving?

3k · 10/02/2006 14:54

Blimey - that is a lot of births so far, didnt realise we had that many already!!!!
