Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

I think she meant me - i said less tactful, not nastier, and it was my originalmessage (not at all nasty imo) that I was talking about. Am also getting un necessarily stressed and upset now, so will come back tomorrow.

4blue1pink · 09/02/2006 16:01

Ignore ...thats my advice!!

Chloe55 · 09/02/2006 16:59

Oh dear! Everytime I leave this site I come back onto something else bewildering. Gosh, amazing how things can be interpreted incorrectly when you can't see body language. What a shame. Never mind.

Wonder how Hotmama and Cuffy are doing.

3k · 09/02/2006 17:08

Hello,

I'm still here, had about 3 hours of pains after "natural induction" last night and then all died down when I went to bed. They were really strong too. Today I had to be monitored at the hospital as one week overdue today and baby is fine, had one tightening whilst on monitor and midwife thinks I could be starting "slowly" so fingers crossed. Had a few more pains since being home but nothing regular, just going to have a rest.

Poor Cuffy, I hope she is ok. Keep fingers crossed.

I really hope you are on way too Hotmama - sounds promising.

Chloe - perhaps me and you will kick off together after all this on and off "is this it?" pains, fingers crossed for you hon!!!

Chloe55 · 09/02/2006 17:13

And you

trace2 · 09/02/2006 18:14

all i can say is cuffy had a section, but shes ok, will let her her tell you everything when shes home, just going to see her

Tabs · 09/02/2006 19:04

Hi Ladies - I'm back! Just a quickie with an outline of things for now, as I'm too knackered for much else - Pippa only let me get 10mins sleep last night, as she likes to feed a lot and would only fall asleep on me and not in her hospital cot.

Total labour time from first sign of anything to actual birth was about 11 1/2 hrs - not bad for a first time I guess. She weighed 9lb exactly - said she would be a big 'un - is that the record so far for this thread - must check! Survived on tens and gas and air - will try and post some more comments on pain relief and thoughts for other first timers about to go through it tomorrow. 3 stitches, for a 'relatively superficial' tear. She's absolutely gorgeous (of course ) with loads of dark hair. Will sort out piccies with proper announcement tomorrow too.

Sorry to hear that Cuffy's had a tougher time of things, and that Hotmama is still a lady in waiting (possibly?).

TicTac - see you on postnatal tomorrow I expect!

Oh, and thanks for jumping to my defence with SoupDragon - have addressed the matter with her separately. Didn't mean to make other people uncomfortable.

cuffyj1 · 09/02/2006 19:21

Hi everyone cuffyj1's dh here bear with me don't know the lingo but will it short. We had a beautiful (little) son at 14.49 today. We have named him Lewis James and he weighed 9LB 2oz.Cuffyj1 had a very rough time, don't think dynamite would have shifted it.Thats all from me hope cuffyj1 and lewis not in hospital too long

Flamesparrow · 09/02/2006 19:39

Thought I'd stick my nose back in (I have no will power). for Cuffy, but I'm pleased that both mum and Lewis are safe and well. He beat ya 9lbs Tabs .

I have cleaned everything in sight, and lugged the dyson up and down the stairs, but I think that that has only resulted in making me tired .

Very tired, and very tearful. Going for a night in front of the tv, and not worrying about Spark coming out... next week is half term, and my mum has planned lots for us to do, so that my last week or so with DD is a special one. ( Now sobbing over that!).

YeahBut · 09/02/2006 19:48

Cuffy, Tabs, congratulations!!

4blue1pink · 09/02/2006 22:53

Good luck girls for overnight!

MrsDoolittle · 10/02/2006 02:11

Morning,

Well have just read what i've missed and all sorts has been going on!

Welcome to the world pippa and lewis!

Looks like all sorts of people could be about to pop!

I spent yesterday in hospital with bp and head ache they let me come home last night and i went to sleep early, good job too as ds1 was up at 4 with temp of 40!

Had a very good chat with a mw who made me feel much better about the stopping and starting, says is tyipical 3rd baby they are always trouble! But that head is very low and my body is getting ready, so once the babies head hits the right spot, things should get going and keep going and it should be fairly quick, lets hope she is right.

Helen38 · 10/02/2006 08:41

Oh yes just remembered, mw told me to sleep on left as this encourages the head to move into the pelvis more.

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 08:44

Oooh good luck Mrs D - Hope its all started for you!!!

I am very worried about my m/w appointment today - Spark did some very very painful things in the night, my bump is a very strange shape, and i'm worrying sooooo much that its turned Spent ages poking it this morning to make it move because I'd managed to convince myself that it had got tangled in the cord! (We did get wriggles eventually ). Hopefully it just did some huge stretches and then engaged lots?

Hope everyone is doing well, and that Cuffy is recovering ok. I have now completely lost track of who is in labour, and who has had what (Bloody rude of Tabs, going off and having a baby when we have stats to think of! ).

Here's to a more peaceful day....

Helen38 · 10/02/2006 08:49

Good point flame how are we meant to keep track without someone organised to tell us?

Helen38 · 10/02/2006 08:51

Argh! my brain doesn't work!!!!!

Hit post rather than saying not to worry flame my bump is often a strange shape it goes all pointy andlopsided and all sorts of things, I'm sure it's fine

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 08:56

Look what I just found about Chloe.... \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?rn=81948&topicid=1365&threadid=145521&redir=x81948here}

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 08:56

Helen38 · 10/02/2006 09:01

Flamesparrow · 10/02/2006 09:04
