Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

Well because you have asked Soupdragon. I think it was a response to the suggestion made that you thought the antenatal threads were nauseating.
Can understand why it wasn't appreciated but the barb at us wasn't either!

Flamesparrow · 09/02/2006 12:13

Lol - I decided to just try loading up a new page and see if mine had posted because I had visions on 10 of my message too!

Jasnem · 09/02/2006 12:26

Just as well it is; my response to SD wasn't as tactfully worded as yours, mrs.D
Lucky for me it didn't load at all

Jasnem · 09/02/2006 12:27

Ooops yes it did.

hotmama · 09/02/2006 12:32

It was Cod that made the comment about antenatal threads being nauseating not Soupdragon - but it was still said on the birth announcement thread - so fair enough a response was made by Tabs.

Anyway, still here - thought I was on my way last night. Again, had contractions and then I lost my mucus plug about 2ish and then nothing.

Dropped dd at nursery this morning, and then came home and balled my eyes out - proper snotty sob.

So I went to have a bath and I'm not sure if my waters went esp as I was in the bath - my bump went weird and then I had a funny feeling - had a pad on since but there doesn't seem to have any dribbles.

Then I had a bloody show and have been very mucusy since - I take this as a good sign - my bump is definitely lower and I feel more periody painy but haven't had any contractions as such.

I am to ring the labour suite after 2.30 about going in for my induction - but hopefully won't have to if it seems things are kicking off naturally.

Chloe55 · 09/02/2006 12:37

I thought Cod made the comment about the nauseating thread? Each to their own I guess, we all have to respect that but I seriously don't think Tabs was being vindictive with her comment, I think she'll be a bit surprised it was taken in the wrong context

Anyway, back to us . Taken the dog for a walk and have nearly finished all the RL tea still nothing happening. I am pretty sick of DH/mum saying that they want me to have this baby this week as it works out well with them what with work and commitments and things.Oh really? Well guess what - I couldn't care less if my labour is going to fit in with everyone else I just want it to happen because I am so bloody uncomfortable!

Jasnem · 09/02/2006 12:37

Good luck Hotmama - hope things go your way.
When my waters went with DD1, it all came in a flood, and I had no leaks afterwards, so it could have been the same for you in the bath (more convenient that for me at home - I stood in an empty tool box to save the carpet!)

Chloe55 · 09/02/2006 12:39

Oops cross-posts Hotmama. Fantastic though, sounds like the talk of induction has scared our little one into getting going, really pleased for you.

MrsDoolittle · 09/02/2006 13:16

Hotmama - sounds promising. Hopefully that's it.

Actually, I'm beginning to get a little frightened now. I've had a couple of twinges that have seriously hurt and visions of myelf screaming "Let me die now" when I was delivering dd keep springing into my mind.

Dh says let it be a few years before we do this again

Hi everyone - it has taken ages to get through the postings so I'll quickly say Congratulations to all the new Mums and Good Luck to HotMama - hope it all goes ok.

Maisie is doing really well - having now gotten used to cleaning girls bottoms in the opposite direction to my ds' it has been a breeze so far and thankfully my SPD has made a radical improvement so I have managed to return to the land of the vertical!!

Photos now on yahoo but will place some more when we get a chance. . .

Thell · 09/02/2006 14:03

Ellenrose - Maisie is absolutely gorgeous.
And so much hair!!

Am I really going to have one of those at the end of all this??

Flamesparrow · 09/02/2006 14:13

Yay HM - sounds promising!

Still nothin happening here (yes I know that there isn't meant to be yet ).

Trying desperately to convince DD to sleep - she is sooo exhausting right now, she never stops going, and both me n DH are a tad worn out by her today.

Chloe55 · 09/02/2006 14:19

Gosh she looks so much like you Ellenrose, ahe looks adorable. Had a flick through the othe piccies and 4b1p I can not believe with your figure you are on to your 5th child

Flamesparrow · 09/02/2006 14:30

Awww, she's gorgeous!!

I've finally got my bump pictures to load up (been trying since yesterday afternoon)

hotmama · 09/02/2006 14:36

Rung the labour suite and still want me to go in but they think it sounds like I am on my way and probably will be O.K. to come home after assessment and let me get on naturally - unless I am well underway.

So need to be there for 4 p.m. so going now, will report back this evening if sent home - otherwise will post when I have dd2!

Labour vibes to everyone and best wishes. xx

Thell · 09/02/2006 14:48

Hurray!
I hope HM continues to progress naturally .

Just given up on stupid Yahoo photo album and started a new one - the only way I could add a picture .
Of course it's now 3 wks out of date!
Bit scared to ask DH to take a new pic, as I'm sure I must be the size of a house. The bump doesn't look so big from the top view, but a friend of mine who visited this morning gasped when I turned sideways
We don't have any mirrors big enough for me to see myself in

trace2 · 09/02/2006 15:12

been worried about cuffy, so i rang labour ward shes still there, she must be totally knackard!

MrsDoolittle · 09/02/2006 15:19

still labouring?
Oh poor cuffy.

Mw is coming round now as I have just spoken to her and after a night of fierce activity I can't rememeber if bump has moved today

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 09/02/2006 15:23

sleeping dragon on one arm so poor typing....

Of course I'm upset and cross and I don't care if Tabs is here to defend herself or not. I wasn't either oddly enough. And how delightful that someone else was going to post something nastier.

Comments like that should be taken up elsewhere rather than ruining an announcement thread and have taken it up with cod seperately. as it happens she's npt far wrong =- all the "what flavour baby" , "springing forth" and "love hearts bursting" was/is not for me so I stayed away. I don't have to defend or explina my reasons, particukarly on my birth announcement thread. (I did unite 2 of you with birth pools though! )

poor taste and bad manners IMO. not going to persue this anyway.

good luck & congratulations to you all as appropriate

Jasnem · 09/02/2006 15:37

Love the bump pics..it is nice to compare.
Ellen Rose, Maisie is beautiful, be a very proud mummy

MrsDoolittle · 09/02/2006 15:52

I'm surprised you're even giving reasons, frankly SoupDragon. I wouldn't bother if I were you. And no that was not meant to be nasty and I don't believe anyone else meant to post anything nasty either.

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 09/02/2006 15:54

I'm hoping this is all hormones out of hand (from all sides). The whole thing seems to be spiralling, and I'm hating seeing a new baby being caught up in it all.

I'm going off for the rest of the day, can't handle any more squabbling.
