Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

Tabs' DH here, just a quicky to let you know that Pippa was born at 4.41pm this afternoon. Mother and baby doing great. Details to follow when they are out of hospital.

trace2 · 08/02/2006 20:34

congrats, tabs

3k · 08/02/2006 20:37

Awwwwwwwwww another baby - congrats Tabs and DH. Cant wait to hear the details.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 08/02/2006 20:42

TABS!! Congrats to you, your dh and Pippa hurrah another one out!

Flamesparrow · 08/02/2006 21:04

I'm planning to be on msn and a chat site (little mums group I'm part of) - I'll be sending a link to you all to join me in labour chat!

Wooohooo to Tabs and Pippa

MrsDoolittle · 08/02/2006 21:40

Wow how impressive is that? Tabs has her baby. Fabulous!!!! Congratulations Tabs and Pippa!

Don't know what's going on here ladies. I don't want to get excited about it. According to mw it's likely that I'm labouring at night time and then things ease off by the morning. Then one night.....
So basically, it may be tonight and it may not.
I guess this applies to a good few of us now especially you Flame

Mrsd - think this sounds like me as well. Hopefully, tonight will be the night otherwise I'm looking at induction tomorrow - oh well!

Will check in tomorrow.

Congrats Tabs and Dh - welcome to the world Pippa!

4blue1pink · 09/02/2006 00:05

Tabs well done - hope it all went well!

I have been to hospital tonight with a false alarm

You would think i would know 5th time - had a little bleed and backache and panicked..back home now and exhausted. midwife wanted to 'stretch and sweep' and i would not let her!

MrsDoolittle · 09/02/2006 01:45

I was woken up by pain at midnight. Seems like i'm getting the same pain every 20 minutes to half and hour. Deep down and achy, it's giving me hideous backache.
What do you think?

Chloe55 · 09/02/2006 07:08

Congratulations Tabs and family

You still about MrsD? Been awake since 4am with cramps about every 20 mins which seemed to stop about an hour ago so just being teased again I think. DH is gutted coz now he has to go to work!

Jasnem · 09/02/2006 08:11

Congratulations tabs -well done you

Lots of love to cuffy -I really hope things get moving for you (or that you already have your baby)

Mrs D sounds good -any news?

Flame - I'd plan on staying at home - you can always change your mind when things start if you need to.

Everyone else - lots of best wishes to get things moving for anyone who's ready.
I'm back to not being ready at all. I did finish packing my hosptal bag last night though. My night in hosp without even a clean pair of knickers has made me a bit more organised!
I'm fluctuating wildly from wanting to have it all over now, to hoping it doesn't happen for weeks yet, cos I'm scared and not really ready after all.
I do feel a bit better for going to bed at 7.30last night, though.

Jasnem · 09/02/2006 08:14

Flame - just read your message on homebirth thread - you know you can always go home the same day after you have the baby if you do go in? That's my plan assuming no complications.

trace2 · 09/02/2006 08:19

cuffy went in last night, just waiting to here now

Frizbetheexpansionset · 09/02/2006 08:42

Ooooh so that's cuffy in (thanks trace2)
Mrs D, have you gone in?
Chloe have the pains started again???

Hi all everyone else! I had a panic moment last night, where I decided I didn't want to give birth again after all, lol dh gave the usual, its a bit late now comment, so figure at least I'm getting a bit mentally ready! also had a very bizare dream about a friend of mine, whose in Thailand at the mo, telling me she was giving birth to the 'Chosen One' what's that all about then???

Chloe55 · 09/02/2006 09:36

Just managed to get an hour on the sofa and have woken up all crampy again but they are mild cramps and constant, nothing to shout about, not in waves like this am so I think they are all just associated with preparation as appose to the real thing, never mind.

Frizbe - LOL at your friend's dream, not sure what all that's about but don't we have some vivid dreams whilst pg? I have been dreaming a lot about the sea and how powerful it is e.g. last night I dreamt I was in a tsunami and the night before I was in a boat which capsized in rough weather - is this a sign my waters will break with an almighty gush?

Flame I would probablt go for the home birth if that is what you decided on earlier - you probably won't be disappointed from other peoples experiences and you can always go into hospital last minute if you want/need to but you may seriously regret going into hospital instead of staying at home coz I'm guessing once you're there they'll be reluctant to let you go home.

Chloe55 · 09/02/2006 09:38

Just thinking - if I do go into labour then I'll be in the same hospital at the same time as Cuffy (depending how long she is in for), I'll be trying to suss out if so and so looks like she might be Cuffy or not

TicTac · 09/02/2006 09:39

CONGRATS TABS! Welcome to Pippa too. See you on the post natal thread!

Good luck everyone else....soon be you!

trace2 · 09/02/2006 09:42

shes b strep, so it depends, if they give her or babes antiboitics

MrsDoolittle · 09/02/2006 10:05

Cuffy I hope no news is good news!

Chloe, you sound like me. We'll get there!
Where's hotmama?

Still here! And I'm ill
I have this awful head cold thingy that everyone seems to have. Dh and I spent last night sniffing at each other, then he started snoring. What a chorus!!

Well I ended up putting the TENS machine on last night at about 2.30 because I was excruciating back pain and seemed to be contracting every half hour. It helped me off to sleep - I was really tired at this point. Anyway, I have taken the TENS off. Predictably I feel much better now this morning, not much happening. I've had my meusli breakfast and I'm supping a Lemsip at the computer with the sun streaming in the window.
I'm thinking about a really hot bath with olbas oil now.
My midwife may come around this afternoon.

Well done Tabs!!

I'm hoping this one actually doesn't come today, as only got back from the picures at midnight last night, ds was up really early, and I'm knackered!! Wouldn't be a good way to start a labour!!

SoupDragon · 09/02/2006 11:43

"Am of course offended that you chose not to join us on the antenatal thread"

Why would someone post that on a birth announcement thread? Could have just let it slide you know.

Jasnem · 09/02/2006 11:54

SoupDragon - don't know if you'll be reading this, but Tabs isn't here to defend herself, as she had her daughter yesterday.
I am sure her comment was meant in good humour, and am sorry if you are upset by it.
Congratulations on the birth of your daughter, and you are always welcome to drop in on post natal if you want to.

Whereas the bitchy comments about the nauseating antenatal threads were called for on a birth announcement?? I think it was meant in a jokey way.....

Anyway, back to the rest of today...

I wonder if HM went into labour naturally or if she's gone in for induction. Chloe & MrsD you both sound like things should happen soon.

I'm tired - a long night with lots of aching, although it was very clear it was just aching and nothing else. Woken up today, and just moving hurts I think my muscles have given up! DH is off work sick, so he let me have a lie in (I think only cos he couldn't get back to sleep after DD woke up, but I don't really care why ).

I'm alternating between wanting it out now because everything hurts, and not because my mum keeps planning things for us to do with DD during half term, and I wanna play too [blush.

Think I'm back to homebirth again today....
