Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

Hi thanks for all good luck wishes. Not at hospital yet, pains r all over place at the minute but feel exactly the same as tabs described. Just had a bath and gonna go try get some sleep just in case it happens today.

Jasnem · 08/02/2006 15:41

Helen - yesterday I started checking out the due in March thread, as i was so sure this one was going to be really late!
It might still be - I had a false alarm a week before DD2 was due, and she was 5 days late in the end.

Chloe55 · 08/02/2006 15:50

Oooh wasn't expecting you on Cuffy - well best of luck and hope everything goes well for you - get some sleep!

MrsDoolittle · 08/02/2006 16:15

I've been busily doing housework to try and get my mind off things but it's the heartburn that's the problem. It's amazing how often you bend down when you're hoovering!
Think I need a lie down now.
Chloe, know how you feel hun. Frustrating isn't it? Isn't it funny how we all get excited at the prospect of pain!?!

Hope this is it for you cuffy. You should be on your way now, surely.

Dentistry was hygenist and counted as private

Helloooo Cuffy - hope things go well.

I got my bath, and am aching much less, still feel very weird though, even after a few hours sleep (lovely man didn't wake me when I dozed off ). Think its just basic tiredness rather than labour

DH announced that I can't go into labour now cos he doesn't feel well... Hmmmm, ok, I'll wait for him to be ready then!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 08/02/2006 18:34

Frizbetheexpansionset · 08/02/2006 18:44

Jas n Helen, I'm sure you'll both pop in feb, but if not sure I'll still be here! bound to be the last, which is why I'm posting on March too!! feel free to pop over and join us, not quite as chatty as this thread tho!

Chloe55 · 08/02/2006 18:52

Frizbe are you trying to rub it in!

Chloe55 · 08/02/2006 18:53

Re the post!

Chloe55 · 08/02/2006 18:54

Post for Hotmama - God I am making no sense, am I - having bad abdominal cramps again and they are really beginnng to p*ss me off because I know they are nothing!

Frizbetheexpansionset · 08/02/2006 18:56

Chloe I've done the link, as she's thinking of saying no to induction, I'm not winding her up, I live too close, it'll only take her half hour to get here and beat me up

Chloe55 · 08/02/2006 19:02

Ha ha, thought you were trying to scare her with the 44week pg

YeahBut · 08/02/2006 19:07

Just a quickie for TicTac. Given P's symptoms, has your MW or HV mentioned anything about reflux? Very common complaint in babies. The pain of that can make babies extremely uncomfortable and distressed after feeding. With the right medication, it can be sorted out very quickly. Might even be worth taking her along to your GP if you are not happy with the advice from your MW/HV - I find that GPs take concerns a bit more seriously and don't just put things down to "neurotic new mum" syndrome.

hotmama · 08/02/2006 19:13

Frizbe - thanks for the link - I have posted on it to ask Pupuce's advice re delaying/Bishops score.

Mind you - I could just be hoping but dd2's head does feel further down and I have hade more jelly discharge - seems a bit thicker IYKWIM - sorry if TMI.

God, please let me go into labour tonight [praying icon]

Re dentist - my dentist did my hygienist thingy so was counted as 'free' - I suppose it is too late now as you have already had it done.

hotmama · 08/02/2006 19:14

Also, irrespective of my Bishops score - there is no f@*king way I will be going to 44 weeks!

MrsDoolittle · 08/02/2006 19:27

I'm hurting!! But don't know if it's labour or farts!!

Mrsd PMSL.

I just had a sneezing fit and thought dd2 was going to shoot out!

trace2 · 08/02/2006 19:33

hi last i heard cuffys still at home, and shes soooooooooooo fed up, shes also knackerd, been up all night, and not managed any sleep today, she going to send a test when she goes to hospital, as shes fed up with phone ringing, so i dont want to had to her phone calls , as family is always ringing.

will let you all know when i found anything out, and i hope all you girls start tonight!
good luck

hotmama · 08/02/2006 19:35

Trace2 - give cuffy my regards I really know how she is feeling (also any news on the test front?)

TicTac · 08/02/2006 19:39

Yeahbut - Your right the MW and HV are too eager to put it down to wind. I was born with a condition which is rare in girls (known as a boys complaint) but it is to do with a reflux thing...I have been keeping my eye on her in case she has the same condition.

That said, I have not given her any infacol or coleif today, she has fed well and not sicked up too much. Plus the griping has not been too bad. I will have to see how the night time goes...everything is so much worse in the wee smalls.

I didn't think to take her to the GP to be honest so I might just do that....thanks!

trace2 · 08/02/2006 19:40

hi hotmama, no and no af, but i think shes on her way, told cuffy this morning about the thread, i really do hope you and cuffy got them babies out tonight, keep us posted about you too then i can tell her how you are!

i must say she is very very low

Flamesparrow · 08/02/2006 20:10

pmsl @ MrsD

Poor Cuffy I hate the idea of a long labour. She must be so exhausted and just wanting it over sooo much.

Still feeling a bit bizarre here - baby's dropped more... I can feel squishy space at the top of the bump which wasn't there before!

Still torn between homebirth and hospital - I was sooo sure for the entire pregnancy, and now it gets to it, I'm a little confused mess . The why/why not thread didn't help confirm things either . Reports of 12 new cases of mrsa at my hospital is swaying me slightly more towards home though....

MrsDoolittle · 08/02/2006 20:19

Flame, the truth is mrsa is highly unlikely to be dangerous to you or a healthy baby hence the utter shock when it happens last year! Whats more, from someone on the 'inside', it's likely it was brought in from home anyway. I guess what I'm trying to say is staph. aureas is around us all the time it's only when we're vulnerable is it dangerous IYSWIM?

Anyway, it's definitly not farts! So watch this space. Unfortunately it's more likely I'm just heading for a bar steward of an unsettled night!!

OP posts:
Frizbetheexpansionset · 08/02/2006 20:30

Flame stay at home, if there is any inkling of anything wrong, they ship you into hosp anyway, so don't worry hon, you'll be far more relaxed at home anyway and if we go into labour together, we can still report to the girls on here right say she knowing only too well there's not a chance of that once things kick off!

Thanks for the update trace2! keep em coming

Tabs hope things are going well for you!

Fingers x'd we have a few more of you drop tonight ladies

Oh and is anyone else getting odd cramp, I've had it all day on and off in my right foot, but on the top??? what's all that about then?

Frizbetheexpansionset · 08/02/2006 20:30

ooooooh Mrs D, go girl, good luck, hope its the real thing
