Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

Aaah. Sympathies. Ds seems to be nearly over his cough etc, and he got quite a good nights sleep. Spoilt by waking up in wee due to a leaky nappy!

Well, I actually had a twinge in the night and got half hopeful, but nothing has come of it.

Asked ds what he wanted to do today, as we're at a loose end, and he said 'shopping. I would love it'. What an odd 2yr old I've bred!

Helen38 · 07/02/2006 11:06

My new pram has come it's so lovely now all i need is a baby to put in it

Chloe55 · 07/02/2006 11:13

Well, went back to bed and managed to get a bit more broken sleep. Not sure if my best bet is to try and NOT sleep during the day in the hope that I can a bit more on a night or just think sod it, sleep when you can. I'm gonna go with the latter as I keep thinking that my little one will sleep when he wants meaning I will have to sleep when I can so I will already be 1/2 prepared.

Isn't it funny about the night time labour thing - I always think like that too, I seem to have more cramps and things on a night though.

Even though I am so not up for it I told DH last night that he had better not be wasting any of his natural inducing stuff and that if he feels the urge he must make it go to good use, he assures me he has not been in the mood either - not sure if he is lying or just thinking nooooooooooo!! Please don't make me go down there!!

Oh and Helen - no way would I have divulged in my sexlife/toiletlife quite so much if I 'knew' any of you

4blue1pink · 07/02/2006 11:18

My nether bits are the same ...dp keeps saying they are normal but the other day he said ..........TMI WARNING** they looked a bit beefy! I dont like it! Feels like a new part of my anatomy!

Helen38 · 07/02/2006 11:31

Look at my lovely pram I'm so excited it's sad this one

Helen38 · 07/02/2006 11:32

BTW have no idea what my bits look like and don't want to know

Chloe55 · 07/02/2006 11:45

Oooh you'll look like one of those poshbirds walking down the street with that beauty - very Liz Hurley!

hotmama · 07/02/2006 11:46

Lovely proper pram - hope you have a big hallway!

Well, in the process of lugging furniture etc. Now moved the crib and Moses basket into our bedroom and put on bedding and cat net. Just soaking the cover to the carseat as this has to be handwashed - forgotten I hadn't done this since dd1 used it - forgot how much little one's posset!

Going to do all the next size up clothing as by the end of tonight, dp should have put together the wardrobe so I can hang things up etc.

Going to stop for some lunch - I'm knackered - if this doesn't bring labour on then I am doomed to be induced!

popmum · 07/02/2006 11:55

hi ladies
just to let you know had a boy yesterday - no name yet, poor thing! all went well, waters went, started contractions about 1/2 hr later, kicked in about hour later. about 3 hours later got to hosp - thought i was going to have it in car as urge to push suddenly there. was fully dilated - then 2hours of pushing & threat of ventuse with joky consultant & somehow managed to find it within myself to push him out. have to say felt v. strange and hurt (no pain relief) - had episiotomy - but was sooooo good to do after e-c-section last time.

am so happpy - was home yest evening to my own bath and bed!!

better go now
hope you all drop soon too!!

hotmama · 07/02/2006 11:58

Popmum - huge congrats - our first official Feb baby!

Come on girls - lets hope this is an omen to get us all started.

Helen38 · 07/02/2006 11:59

Bargin on ebay, just wanted this baby to have something new plus I walk miles now which i didn't when i had other 2.

Yay a baby well done!

MrsDoolittle · 07/02/2006 12:17

Helen - what a beautiful pram, so retro. Dh would love it, he's into that kind of style.

Yes beefy bits, that's as a good description. Dh hasn't commented, I'll ask him tonight.

So convinced am I that my waters are gonna break that I have put on a whopping great enormous pad, I was feeling rubbish this morning. But a slow restful morning and long bath means I am feeling better now. Still feel like I have to pop though. As you say Helen, "If he didn't fancy it yesterday, why would he today?"

Dd is with dm now for a week or so and the house is very quiet. I should just relax and appreciate it really, instead of being so impatient to see #2!

Wow congrats Popmum - I'm feeling that most of these Feb labours so far have not been toooo vicious (or are they keeping something form us?) But it also makes me think that there has to be a balance of crappy labours too and no doubt I will be one of them. Sorry, that was very pessimistic - I will labour nicely, I will labour nicely, I will labour nicely.

hotmama · 07/02/2006 12:22

Chloe - I like your mantra!

Jasnem · 07/02/2006 12:28

Congratulations Popmum - I like to hear about nameless babies, as it makes me feel a bit better!

Helen - love the pram, if only I had the space....

Flamesparrow · 07/02/2006 12:49

Woohoo Popmum!!!

Helen - soooo of the pram! I love it, but couldn't justify the money as it wouldn't fit in the car, and I don't walk enough!

Been dozing on the sofa - DD has gotten out every toy she owns, but I'm past caring! She is getting much better at helping tidying lately.

Bump is still solid, and very very uncomfortable. Hardly any movements today. I don't think I'm the teeniest bit engaged though.

MrsDoolittle · 07/02/2006 13:17

Ooooh Congratulations popmum!!

Well done Popmum!!!
This baby is NEVER going to come out.

Meant to go and do shopping this morning, but felt too lethargic, so we did some painting and sticking instead.I want to go shopping, just cant be bothered with the bus ride and pushing the buggy! And now I've just found out we're stuck in all day tomorrow waiting for replacement pc monitor to be sent. Typical. We only bought this pc just before xmas, and we're having to use our old monitor again already

Chloe55 · 07/02/2006 14:14

Well I just had a burst of energy so decided to go and clean up dog poo in the back yard which DH has promised to do for the past 2 days as it is now increasingly difficult for me to bend down and pick anything up but it has been bugging me so decided to attempt it myself. It wouldn't normally be a problem, a couple of bend downs and you'd be done, but oh no my dog likes to walk in circles and leave little plops everywhere so you have to bend down 5 times as much Anyway, after that I was on a mission and decided I would pressure wash all the back yard too and was getting quite excited about doing it but DH has lent out the pressure washer! I have a weird amount of energy that I have to expel but I am so bored of house work and I daren't take the dog for a walk because I can never get that far without getting excruciating ligament pains and have to turn back. So waht do I do? Come on here which is no doubt where I am gonna be for another hour or so! I am useless!! Bloody hell, I've just babbled a load of crap haven't I?!

kando · 07/02/2006 14:29

Just dropping in to let you know that Elizabeth Grace arrived on Friday 3 February. Very straightforward labour - contractions started at 5am, but didn't really become regular till about 10am. Got to hospital at 1pm (after some silly buggers kept playing about with the lift doors opening and closing them, and every Tom, Dick & Harry kept getting in and out!) and Beth was born at 1426, weighing in at 3.8kgs (think that's about 8lbs 5oz in "real money" - they don't do pounds and ounces in Holland!). Did it all on my own too, though not through lack of asking - midwife was poised to inject the pethidine when I said I needed to push so I didn't get it! Went from 5 to 10cms in less than an hour, and pushed her out in 9 mins. We are doing OK on the breastfeeding - she's actually feeding well but my nipples are shot to pieces - thank goodness for nipple shields! She's absolutely beautiful, and her 2 big sisters, mum and dad are completely in love with her!

Good luck to all you ladies who are still hanging on in there. xx

Chloe55 · 07/02/2006 14:41

Congratulations Kando - another straight forward labour

(Not looking good for the rest of us girls) Kidding! Kidding!!!!

hotmama · 07/02/2006 14:47

Congrats Kando - another Feb birth - woohoo!

Fab choice of names by the way - my dd is called Grace and my middle name is Elizabeth.

Can I have one of those births please.

Anybody got any grumblings etc? I have well and truly knackered myself - so I am going out to enjoy some rare sunshine in Feb. Hope to come back and be in labour!

Jasnem · 07/02/2006 14:47

Congrats Kando

All together girls; I will labour nicely, I will labour nicely,I will labour nicely.

Please.

cuffyj1 · 07/02/2006 14:53

I'm just on my way to mw so'll let u know wot happens later.

suggy · 07/02/2006 14:57

Hiya - new to all this.

Pregnant with no. 2 - 37 weeks and its still breech. DD1 was a ECS - which I don't want 2nd time round as it'd mean I couldn't carry DD1 and will make her feel neglected. Shes already under the weather and I am scared its stress She keeps waking and babbling about there being a baby on the way and a brother and sister. Shes unhappy and clingy - though nursery says it could be chicken pox. Is DD1 anxious or poorly ? and will DD2 ever turn....
