Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

PMSL - I have just read todays thread...you ladies are getting funnier the more frustrated your becoming

Funny because I mentioned sex the other day to DH and suggested that it might be a couple of weeks before my confidence comes back in terms of "stiches" He chuckled and said "it will be a couple of months while I forget the images of Peyia coming out of your flower...I am sure I saw your liver drop out over the edge of the bed"

I was horrified!!!!

I asked the Health visitor (her first visit!) today about the moses basket thing, she has bever heard of any issues and every mother she visits has a basket not a bed....take from that what you will.

I have heard though that castor oil is dangerous to take as a labour inducing effort....no idea why though.

Good luck for tonight....I am going to try and sleep more tonight[as if emoticon] so might not be back on in the wee smalls to review your activity

4blue1pink · 06/02/2006 21:18

Flame ...are you about??

Just thinking i think its you got made in water pool? Anyway did a full 'wet run' tonight and it was fine ...took some filling emptied our antiquated tank in seconds so i am glad we had a practice....thermometre needed a steady head to even switch on so i am glad we did it all before the panic night........

Kids completely desperate to get in...

dh now emptying it !

ixel · 06/02/2006 21:26

My MIL swears by white paraffin to bring on labour, and used it for all 6 babies. Probably explains alot about dh Dont think it sounds very nice personally.

Dh has just been in the bathroom to read the milk of magnesia bottle... and its gone!! Another of life's mysteries.

Tabs... how does clitoral stimulation help exactly? Thats been all thats on offer since the belly got too big for dh handle in bed, but nothing's come of it so far (no pun intended)

4blue1pink · 06/02/2006 21:32

i do think any laxative stimulates bowel contractions which in turn.... so crack open the syrup of figs girls...

me i am happy to remain constipated as when i get what dh terms 'nature's enema' then its the first sign baby is on its way........

Tabs · 06/02/2006 23:24

I'm fed up now. Too much acid. Too much waiting around. Too much groin pain. Going to bed where the only thing I won't get too much of is sleep. Bah humbug.

cuffyj1 · 06/02/2006 23:41

Sorry to disapoint u tabs and chloe i'm still here waiting. Got mw tomorrow and havin a sweep.

Chloe55 · 07/02/2006 07:30

Morning girls,

Well another crap night for me, lack of sleep and cramps

Ixel - I thnk it has something more to do with the fact that if you orgasm it obviously contracts the uterus hence helping kickstart things.

Cuffy - Thought you must have been next to pop. Hope today brings about something positive for you.

TicTac - Presuming you either got a better night's sleep or just couldn't be bothered to get back on here in the middle of the night

Hope everyone else is as comfortable as nature allows us to be. However I'm beginning to feel that nature is a b*stard!

Jasnem · 07/02/2006 07:59

morning all,

I hope the relatively quiet night on here means that some of us got some sleep. I'll be going back to bed again later, as I've accepted the only way to sleep at the moment is for short bursts.

Did you notice that since the start of Feb there have been no births...this is really not good! Big labour vibes (again) to everyone due last week. You're all alot more patient than I would be. When it's me,I'll be moaning every hour on the hour (of course by then I'll be the only one left on this thread, as you'll all be busy with babies.)

TicTac · 07/02/2006 08:08

Chloe - dreadful night sleep but didn't want to come on and post about it...you would have all been sticking corks in to stop your babies coming out

Helen38 · 07/02/2006 08:14

This baby really feels like it is trying to fall out! Is very low and I can hardly walk this morning with that and the SPD

Grumble over! How is everyone else? sorry to of missd this lovely poo conversation last night, do you think we would be as honest if we had to actually look at each other while we talked?

hotmama · 07/02/2006 08:29

Checking in for this mornings roll call!

I thought there hadn't been any Feb births - at least by those who contribute to this thread.

Sorry you're still waiting as well Cuffy - I thought you were on your way.

Today, I am 9 days overdue, so have got 2 days to get things moving before being induced. Have tried the sniffing of clary sage and the natural prostaglandin route to no avail as I am still here.

I always think if I don't go into labour during the evening/night I will have to wait another day as I don't think it is common to go into labour during the day - am I right?

Looking forward to another day of delicious conversations.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 07/02/2006 08:31

Hi all quick check in before I fly of to the NEC....

Lol at all the chat last night!
Chloe pmsl at pornstar flaps , but re your lack of sleep last night, if its any help I ended up with a two year old in my bed 11pm-2am, when she eventually woke with such a coughing fit, poor mite, after some more medicine, she decided she'd rather sleep in her own bed, hurrah I thought, but then dh decided sofa not comfy and he came back, DOH! and there was I going to spread out.....also woke up with cramp this am, booooooo

Ixel, white paraffin, argh, n yuk......

Cuffyj, good luck with the sweap

Morgan hope all is ok and your having a luxurious hospital stay.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 07/02/2006 08:32

Hotmama, I asked the MW that same question yesterday, and she'd delivered someone at midday only last week, who started at 9am, so there is hope!!

Oh and Helen, maybe baby will just be one that pops out, when you go to the loo or something

hotmama · 07/02/2006 08:36

Yay - 3 hours from start to finish - now that is the kind of story I like to read at the beginning of the day.

Flamesparrow · 07/02/2006 08:37

I have daytime clothes on ! So does DD !!

Exhausted. Very very solid bump. Sod all happening.

Need to go to shops later, but other than that, I see it being another day sat doing nothing. Poor DD is bored stiff and wants her friends, but I just can't face the thought of people right now - my moods are so all over the place that I can't be trusted not to snap or cry.

How is it that we still have no babies???? Morgan should have hers by now, so that should give some hope.

Jasnem · 07/02/2006 08:39

My first started at 2pm, Hotmama, so don't give up yet!

Oh, and DD1s best friends mum delivered on her own in the bathroom after one contraction, so don't joke about it dropping out into the loo - hers almost did!

hotmama · 07/02/2006 08:47

Flame - not only do I have clothes on but I was back home from dropping dd at nursery - now going to have a bath so I can face the world. A whole day by myself - hurrah.

One contraction there's quick and there's quick.

Oh yes, forgot to post and say my new nursery furniture arrived last night, so dp is charging his drill to put together tonight. I am going to clear out the nursery - so hopefully a bit of heaving things about will get things moving.

MrsDoolittle · 07/02/2006 09:04

Morning Ladies. I do have to admit to actually having a relatively good night last night but like you, Flame my bump is soo rigid. It also feels so low down that I am convinced it is just going to drop out. I can't understand why my waters haven't popped under all the pressure.
Dh finally out the crib up for me last night and I've got the carrycot out. I'm going to hoik the hoover upstairs today and put the blankets in the crib, and generally tidy up.
I should attempt to take the dog out for a good walk today actually. Oh and I thought I would try doing a few 'bouncing' exercises on the fitball.

Oh and no luck trying to get dh to go the natural prostaglandin route. He just screwed his face up, he's not impressed by my rather 'engorged' bits either. They do go down ladies, so don't worry.
Infact, one of the things I'm looking forward to most in the almost immediate feeling of normality that returns to your body. One can bend down! Do up your shoe laces. The pressure on your 'nether regions' has gone and I will be able to lie on my front in bed - what bliss!!

OP posts:
hotmama · 07/02/2006 09:11

Probably TMI - but I found lying on my side and 'doing spoons' meant that my bits weren't too engorged as opposed to being on top IYKWIM.

Not meaning to start off another day bizarre conversations.

Flamesparrow · 07/02/2006 09:18

I feel left out... mine are still a normal size! I got the porn star norks though, so I guess you can't have both ends??

My bump is still very high, and not feeling at all engaged - even with several hours on the ball last night... tis very good to sit on whilst playing xbox! (Getting practise in - we've discovered that I have some freakish talent for fighting games, and had one of DH's friends soooo annoyed on Sunday because he'd been playing the game for hours during the week, I'd had a 5 min try, and beat him every single game )

Jasnem · 07/02/2006 09:23

Aaahhh....to be able to sleep on my front. That and enjoying a cup of tea are the two things I'm looking forward to about not being pregnant any more
Unless you count the more obvious baby cuddling

My porn star flaps are like that all the time ATM so it doesn't matter what position I'm in with DP.

Helen38 · 07/02/2006 09:29

Oh yes, a cup of tea that tastes nice That's what i want too!

Please no jokes about babies falling out in loo, i know someone who woke at 2 am, went for a wee and shouted for her husband that the baby was falling out, he stomped through saying don't be silly then looked and it was crowning !!!!! they managed to get her to the bed and he was talked through delivery by ambulance station. not really what i have in mind i don't want to have to deal with the mess.

Tabs · 07/02/2006 09:53

Morning all - lots of chat already this morning!

I don't really understand why, but I didn't get up at all for the loo in the night . Got into bed about 12:30, but did sudoku until 1:30, and then had first wee at 8:30 - what's that all about - can't remember going that long for months. Does this mean something (hopefully not that she's disengaged herself overnight!)??

Am going to manage to have bath and get dressed this morning, so that I can go to bumps and babes this afternoon. They'll know I'm in a bad mood as soon as I arrive, as I told them last week that I would be if I was there!

Sorry to hear we were wrong about cuffy - hope the m/w appointment goes well and that she goes to do a sweep and says you're already about 5cm!

Glad to hear that daytime labours do happen. I was thinking along the same lines as Hotmama. And I wake up thinking 'what's different about today from yesterday - nothing. Then why should she come today if she didn't fancy it yesterday?'!

Flamesparrow · 07/02/2006 10:25

Joy of joys! I have a poorly todder! What more could a woman want?!?!?!

Crying over the least little thing, temp up No new spots though, so assuming it isn't chicken pox.

My friend called me ... been feeling all unloved (yes, I know that I could have called her, but thats not the point!) - we decided that I'll avoid her for a few days because she doesn't want to be around my mood , and she is feeling odd so she doesn't want to pass on whatever she's got (bad tummy bugs rife round here).

I'll take DD for a drive later, pick up some milk (got a HUGE bag of grapes on Sunday, so won't need a grape shop until tomorrow), and hopefully she'll fall asleep and wake up a bit happier.

Enjoy bumps and babes Tabs. I have the same theory about daytime labours, I know that logically, they do happen, but when you wake up in the morning, and think "damn, still pregnant then", it seems impossible!
