Okay, so I have finally started the new thread.
All right everyone?

I have been awake most of the night with contractions of some sort or another. A really tight bump for most of the night. Things seem to have a settled down a bit but I've had a lovely brown globular show this morning. Contractions are still niggling but my midwife said it is fairly easy to 'put the lid on them' at this stage with a bath and some painkillers to give myself a little more time. Basically, she's not ready, dh is not ready and I'm still not ready yet...
I will be by tonight though. Have decided I need to put my stuff in it's bag and sort out house today. So here goes....

Hi suggy, and welcome...flip to the other end of the thread to find out more about us all.
How old is DD1? Will your consultant try and turn DD2 for you?

3k · 07/02/2006 15:27

Hi Girls,

Congrats to Popmum and Kando!! Yay some Feb babies at last. I have to agree with Chloe though that if there are all these "easy" births what will ours be like!! I'm sooooooooooooo scared!!!!!!

Welcome to Suggy

Well no news from me either, we walked for over 4 hours last night as popped to Bluewater to get a new digital camera as ours had stopped working (great timing before a new baby) and then we did our monthly shop at Sainsburys. I bought two huge bottles of lucozade for £2 as someone on here said it started them off, not sure if it does work but thought it was worth a try being 5 days late now!!! Have just started on my first glass although I feel soooooooo tired today so just going to sleep on the sofa for a few hours. I WILL get to do that ironing at some point but need an energy burst first.

Come on girls, we need more babies and I need my one out NOW!!!!! Had enough now and dont want to be induced on Monday.

BTW does anyone know if it is ok to go bowling? My friend has decided to get a few of us together on sat night (if I havent dropped yet) but not sure if I can do it or not. I'd feel ok doing it but DH reckons the weight of the ball and the movement might not be a good idea.

Tabs · 07/02/2006 15:33

Wow - I spend a few hours off line and come back to 2 babies and a newbie - should go off more often .

Congrats to popmum and Kando. V about having baby on actual due date. Popmum - do we have a weight for the nameless boy wonder that I can put on the stats?!

Welcome suggy. Have you tried lots of crawling on all fours - that can help to turn baby I believe. Or have you been offered the procedure (can't remember what it's called) where the hospital try and manipulate the baby into turning? I've heard that it's rather uncomfortable to have done, but worth it if it works!

3K - suggest your friends use you as the bowling ball .

Jasnem · 07/02/2006 15:37

3k - what does he think will happen? Maybe you'll go into labour! I'd go - you can always sit and watch for a bit if you get tired.

3k · 07/02/2006 15:39

That's what I thought, it might start things off!!

MrsDoolittle · 07/02/2006 15:44

Congratulations Kando! What nice straight forward birth.
I've just got back having been out walking with the dog for an hour. Absolutely shattered! Am thinking if that doesn't bring on labour, it's not happening today. Actually, some err 'fluid' came out as I was straining to take my walking boots off. Unfortunately I suspect it's just my pelvic floor shot to bits!!

Still haven't got round to taking the hoover upstairs. Think I'll have a sit down first.

MrsDoolittle · 07/02/2006 15:46

3K - Do it!!! What's the worst it can do?
Start you off in labour??

Maybe dh doesn't want it to spoil his evening

DH wants baby out more than me!!! I think he just thought it may hurt my stomach or something as a friend had a lot of trouble with endometriosis and was not allowed to do it because of the strain. But I suspect that anything at this late stage is ok anyway.

Flamesparrow · 07/02/2006 16:49

The bending might be uncomfortable, but I doubt it would do any harm!

Woohooo Kando!!!!!!!! Its all so exciting!!!!

Hiya Suggy - the crawling on your hands and knees is about all that I've heard too - going sideways up the stairs on your hands and knees is meant to be about best, but I have no idea how that would logically work!!!

Been asleep for a few hours (turns out there are advantages to the off colour child ). Woken up just as tight as before and aching sooo much. The thought of another 2 1/2 weeks of being in pain like this is a nightmare. Actually tempted to see if DH can be "sick" tomorrow so I can completely rest for a day!!!

hotmama · 07/02/2006 16:52

Welcome to Suggy.

3k I'd be doing anything to get this baby out!

Back from my walk but unfortunately not in labour - hopefully will have got things moving though.

Concentrate on labour vibes for those who want them

hotmama · 07/02/2006 16:54

Suggy - re the crawling. It does work - I had a friend who was transverse so was going to have to have a c-section, she did loads of crawling for a week and the baby turned head down - phew

4blue1pink · 07/02/2006 20:43

YeahBut · 07/02/2006 20:45

Congrats to Kando and Popmum!!!

Tabs · 07/02/2006 20:46

I've got the electrical gremlins too! We spent £130 getting one part of dishwasher replaced last week, and now another bit has gone that's another £140

Frizbetheexpansionset · 07/02/2006 20:51

don'tcha hate it when that happens, cheaper to get a new dishwasher now isn't it.... for you!

Flamesparrow · 07/02/2006 20:51

No dishwasher here No space to plumb one in!

Feeling very weird tonight. I think baby has dropped a little bit (a nice waddle here ). I feel like I did the night before everything started with DD, but I think I probably had a few nights on and off like that before anything actually happened, so trying not to get my hopes up.

DD miserable, not wanting to sleep, and just keeps crying.

Frizbetheexpansionset · 07/02/2006 20:52

{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}} Flame, see you on here at 3am then with our poorly dd's.....off for a bath now girls, feel the need to splash!

cuffyj1 · 07/02/2006 20:57

I may have movement

Had sweep at mw and am 3-4cm dialated . bp was hi so she sent me to antenatal day unit where of course it came down as usual so they sent me home. Think mw must have stirred something up cos getting uncomfy pressure pains at the bottom of my bump not sure if labour but its not nice. I am trying to time them, they not regular yet.

I've had a show as well. A tiny bit before i went to mw then a bigger one about half hour ago.

Tabs · 07/02/2006 21:14

Ooh cuffy - how exciting - hope you're going to stay online and keep giving us updates?

MrsDoolittle · 07/02/2006 21:15

Congratulations kandoo!

No dishwasher here either, we wouldn't have anywhere to put one either. Haven't felt the need for one yet...

Cuffy, flame hope this is it for you. Sweeps are interesting experiences are they not?

I'm feeling crap tonight, dh says I look awful - nice of him. Heartburn is driving me mad, which I assume means baby is up high again. I threw up my dinner and bascially, don't feel well.
So I am going to bed now, hopefully will feel better tomorrow.
Have asked dh again for some natural prostogladin therapy, he said until the morning. He doesn't want me going into labour tonight, he wants his kip!!

Anyway, I guess I will be here again tomorrow reading about flame and cuffy's contractions and labour pains during the night. Goodluck ladies
