Welcome to the new comers. Sorry to hear of those who are suffering with pain and colds. I have had pain in my bum and down my leg in my previous 2 pregnancies and I have always put it down to sciatica but might go and google pelvic girdle pain as it sounds like it could be that. Not had it too badly this time round but I am sure it will get worse.

Congratulations on good scans. I have a 16week scan tomorrow so praying it is all ok still.

leelteloo · 15/03/2012 09:54

hello Everyone, Wow there are a lot of babies due in Sept, that festive cheer really was flowing!
I know I am very late joiner and have missed plenty of "sept buses" already but its with good reason. I have previously had to leave 2 threads due to MC so have been avioding MN up till now. The good news is we had our 12 week scan yesterday and there is a very healthy and wriggly bean in there. I have been having a very rough time with MS and tireness and anxiety but hopefully all those things will ease off now and I can enjoy this preg.
I am 38, this is baby no2, have a dd of 2 and half and i'm due on the 21.09. Is there a stats list for this thread?

lurkingmurking · 15/03/2012 10:01

Welcome to all the newcomers!

I am wearing a maternity dress today Grin don't really have a need too yet but I am so bored of all my work clothes I thought I might as well crack open the maternity stuff!

NightmareWalking · 15/03/2012 12:10

Hi everyone, scan this morning showed one (phew!) little bean, measuring slightly bigger so my EDD has been moved to 20/09/12 (my estimate was 23/09 so not that far out). Apparently I won't get the NT & blood tests result for Downs for '3-4 weeks' which seems a very long time!

Also slightly concerned that the baby didn't want to move much, they spent half an hour scanning and saying how 'chilled out' bean was, which has set off my maternity worry radar Confused Any one else had a not particularly jumpy one?!

ladygagoo · 15/03/2012 13:02

welcome to all the newbies! and great news about recent scans- keep the good news coming.

Don't worry nightmare about the baby not moving much - mine looked equally chilled out , it was lying on its tummy and only giving the occasional knee-bend.

Whatevertheweather · 15/03/2012 13:16

Nightmare mine was chilled out too Smile Lying on his/her back head bobbing gently on a vessel that was pulsating!! Looked quite comfy. Did begrudgingly wave his/her arms and legs around a bit when poked Smile Try not to worry x

Oooh my Isabella Oliver maternity clothes arrived today. Dress for wedding at end of April and a empire top I was hoping for work but material is a bit casual. Both really nice but their sizing does come up big - I ordered 16/18 but think 14 would have been better. Both have transformed my bump from non existent in normal clothes to about 6 months though! Think it's the cut of them.

How's everyone's back pain today? Mine is a little better.

Yay for more good scans and welcome newcomers Smile

Smallgreenone · 15/03/2012 14:02

I wouldn't worry nightmare. Mine was standing on his head and didn't move until had been prodded! The sonographer said they all have different patterns like we do so yours may have just been having a rest. They would have said if they had any concerns.

york67 · 15/03/2012 15:12

Hi. Had scan today. All good. Mine was quiet too nightmare also measured sligtly more so date may now be 24th September. Nuchal was low at 1.1. Really pleased as wrong side of 40 but realise I need to wait for bloods to have a clearer idea of risk.

Loup23 · 15/03/2012 17:43

Congratulations on scan news york Grin

funchum8am · 15/03/2012 18:55

Welcome cazzabazza and congratulations york on your scans. Mine was also pretty chilled out and again only moved when poked. The sonographer didn't seem to think there was a problem though so fingers crossed all is well. Sounds like it's fairly common for them to be calm at this point.

NightmareWalking · 15/03/2012 20:02

Thanks for the reassurance ladies! My idle bugger didn't move even when poked... repeatedly - only hope s/he is as peaceful when he's here in 6 months! Bean moved a little more after I was sent out to the loo but not much.

York - glad you have good news & good scan, I wonder why some areas give you the results of the nuchal right away, and others not.

Rusulka · 15/03/2012 20:43

Nightmare mine did sod all during scan, even when sonographer got me to wriggle about. Nothing.
Then I had to go drink more water as they couldn't get the nuchal measurement, so after about 35 minutes of riverdance in the waiting room I went back in and... they were upside down. That was it.

Hoping for a bit more jiggling at next scan. Still haven't had a date through yet, so will have to ask Fat Controller on Monday.

york67 · 15/03/2012 21:42

Thanks ladies
nighmare glad your scan was good too. I got the nuchal result as I asked. Could see some figures on the screen too.

NightmareWalking · 16/03/2012 07:47

Snap Rusulka, they even got me to 'bend your knees, lift your bum in the air & wiggle it' and that did nothing - although it amused DH greatly to watch! Grin

leelteloo · 16/03/2012 08:39

Morning all, I was wondering if anyone was having bad headaches at 13 weeks. I've had a really bad one just above my right eye for about 5 days now. Been drinking plenty and eating normally? Should I go to gp or is it common? Thanks Smile

Rusulka · 16/03/2012 10:10

Leelteloo I had headaches too, (checks pregnancy diary) at around 10 weeks, general wisdom is that it's all the hormones. If you're at all concerned, by all means check with your GP, even if only to put your mind at rest.

Think I'm coming down with a cold... feel all thick in the throat and a bit sniffy... grr.

cazzabazza · 16/03/2012 10:40

leelteloo it sounds a bit like you may have a pregnancy/hormone related migraine. I had them quite badly with my first pregnancy, and found they coincided with hormonal changes, like implantation, and at the end of my first trimester when the placenta took over more of the hormone production. Might be worth seeing your GP, specially as it's been 5 days, although all they can give is paracetamol, and sometimes codeine if its really bad. I find that using a menthol headache stick, like 4head, across the painful bits on my forehead really helped sooth the pain. And try to get as much sleep/rest as possible.

Finally, I'm starting to feel more like me again, feel like I'm coming out of the worst of that 1st trimester fugginess and I'm able to cope better. Still waiting for my skin to improve, my nails to strengthen, and my hair to stop falling out!!

Re nuchal scan result timings, I guess it depends on how quickly the hospital can process the bloods and get results. Mine did it within 30 minutes, although I guess others might have a backlog of a few days/weeks or something.

lurkingmurking I also wore a maternity dress yesterday! It was such a gorgeously warm day out and I just wanted to be comfortable and enjoy the sunshine :)

Methe · 16/03/2012 12:04

Hello ladies, I'm just checking in as I had my 12 week scan yesterday finally, at 13+3! I spent all day in hospital and most of this morning too and finally have a date for them to for my Transabdominal Cerclage.. it's going in next friday by one of the top TAC men in the country, Mr Afifi at BWH.. He seems completely unphased by it and said that there is only a

Methe · 16/03/2012 12:04

show off.. and shop off!

leelteloo · 16/03/2012 12:18

Thanks for reassurance re head aches, actually much better today and only symptom right now is STARVATION, lol easily cured with cheese sandwich Wink.

Moominsummermadness · 16/03/2012 13:29

Leelteloo, I've been getting really similar headaches too. Some days, the only thing to cure it is to go to bed, but easier said than done working full-time with 3 DCs!

Whatever, I agree about maternity clothes making you look pregnant. I put of some maternity trousers for work the other day (after realising that I had no pairs of normal ones that would do up!), and suddenly work colleagues who don't really know me were coming up to me congratulating me and asking when the baby is due!

WinkyWinkola · 16/03/2012 13:56

Really really hacked off with feeling sick and utterly weary all the time now. I'm just unable to get stuff done because I feel so wretched.

Usually, I've felt much better by week 12 or 13 at the latest. I'm 15 weeks now. Sigh.

This is by far the worst pgy I've had. DC4 - you are definitely a boy. Only boys have made me feel this rotten in pregnancy. Roll on September!

lurkingmurking · 16/03/2012 15:14

Methe good luck (not sure what a TAC is or anything but it sounds like you have a fab doctor!)

Just bought some summer stuff for DS, I am actually worrying about what happens if this one is a girl, I will be a nightmare shopping!

DS has been really cute and said to me this morning 'that's my baby sister' looking at my tummy - not sure where he's got the idea of a baby sister from but it's all good!

baileyslover · 16/03/2012 15:43

Ok been lurking and the occasional post but wanted to wait until dating scan to have a proper chat.....scan today revealed triplets! Absolutely no clue prior and no history in either family. I am in a total state of shock. Burst into tears at the scan and now alternating between laughing and crying. What on earth are we going to do?

TinkerMaloo · 16/03/2012 15:54

OMG baileys!!! triplets! you are so blessed to get three all in one go but just a quick question... do you have a third boob?... i think i would be the same as you on the elated/devastated front, but these things happen for a reason and you are chosen to be the mummy to 3! wow :) huge congrats! Xx
