just got back from my physio appt and fed up. last time i went there, they just gave me a tubigrip to wear and told me to go back for them to see if pelvis misaligned and other things that would be hands on stuff. So i booked the appt for when they said, and that was today. Only to be told that i am now too pregnant for them to do anything as it could bring on early labour if they do. :( so the only other thing they could do is give me a support belt to wear as well as the tubigrip. They told me that as well as having spd in last pregnancy and this one too, i have had coccydynia ever since first pregnancy and that it can take a couple of years for it to go of its own accord, but that sometimes it just doesn't go, and they've said i should go back 3 months after this baby to see if they can manipulate bits of me back to where they should be. Now wondering if i am completely nuts in contemplating having DC's 3 and 4 after this one...

re scans, good to hear lots of good news. We have ours tomorrow at midday and really hoping to find out what team we are on. Although word of warning , some friends of ours were told at their 20 week scan that they were having a girl, and then when they had a 35 week scan, the sonographer disagreed when they said they were having a girl, as she seemed to think its a boy, so now they don't know who to believe or what they will be having in a couple of weeks! So guess we could all end up with surprises !!

ST82 · 26/04/2012 17:31

Hi PollyIndia - we seem to have the same due date - 27th and the same 2nd scan date - 10th (i cant wait to fin out the sex of the baby - have a feelign it's a GIRL!)! Is this your first baby? It's my first and so very excited!! I have been getting seat on the tube ever since i started wearing my 'baby on board' badge, it's so cool :)

funchum8am · 26/04/2012 20:09

Hi to all the newbies! I am starting to feel some more frequent, though very gentle, movements which is lovely. Also we are team surprise and our scan is a week today, 3rd May. Can't wait, and I hope to have a healthy baby just like all the others who have posted here.

Hi ladies, I'm not sure if you remember me; I posted regularly early on, but I have been AWOL for several weeks. I was feeling a bit nervous about this pregnancy, so thought I would remove my negative self from this thread for a while!
I have been keeping up to date on all your news.
Anyway, we had our 20 week scan today... We're Team Pink! We already have DS, however they did tell us he was a girl at the 20 week scan (we didn't find out he was a boy until he arrived!), so I'm not really believing todays news!
I'm on my phone so can't add myself to the list at the moment.
I hope you're all doing well & congrats on the lovely scan news so far x

twizzlestix · 26/04/2012 20:59

Wow! Lots of wonderful scan news. Congratulations to you all and welcome to newbies.

hotcup I'm the same as you. This is my first and we were told 'girl' but I'm really worried about buying anything gender specific in case they're wrong. Got to go back to finish off 20wj scan on Tuesday so will ask to look again Grin

rightontime · 27/04/2012 07:56

More new people to welcome, so welcome to you all.

Welcome back hotcupoftea I remember you Wink

No more news here for the time being. Looking frantically for a dress that might fit in 8weeks time for being a bridesmaid at my BIL's wedding.

DH has just been told that he has been booked to work constantly for 6 weeks around the time I am due so he will be having to cancel millions of pounds worth of shifts when he takes paternity leave unless they can find someone last minute to cover him. Oh well not his problem but theirs I guess because he will be taking his paternity leave.

cjbk1 · 27/04/2012 10:32

just had my scan all is well it was very quick and we'r on team surprise x

had our scan today, all in order, and we are having another boy. mixed emotions as really thought this one was a girl as i'd felt so different, but will soon get used to the idea. wouldn't change my DS for anything, and will be the same with this one, just not what i expected to hear, but very relieved that he's healthy.

Loup23 · 27/04/2012 16:54

Congratulations CJBK and loopy - strange for you loopy if your pregnancies have been different, it's nice to know you'll have another boy and i'm sure come 20 more weeks you'll be settled into the idea - I really think my bean might be a boy but have nothing to base it on so could be in for shock come D day!

Have nice weekends all x

twizzlestix · 27/04/2012 21:15

Congrats on your successful scans loopy and CJBK My scan surprised me loopy was convinced it was a boy but for no real reason. Had a name prepared but it's a girl so back to the drawing board! I don't mind which we have as has taken yrs to get here but I was surprised initially!

Is anyone else feeling the burn? I keep getting an awful acidy throat :( can't seem to link to anything in particular but it's happening more reguarly now. Any recommendations?

Whatevertheweather · 27/04/2012 21:21

Extra strong mints were my lifesaver with my dd's pregnancies, terrible heartburn with both. Touch wood am avoiding it so far this time!

PollyIndia · 28/04/2012 09:20

Hi ST82. Yes, first baby! I haven't worn a baby on board badge. But my bump is big enough now that people are offering their seats anyway. I don't take the tube every day or in rush hour much though. And I was in India for the first 10 weeks of my pregnancy so I guess I haven't really needed one.
Defo not finding out the sex.
20 week scan is a week on thursday. Quite nervous if I think about it! It's definitely the next milestone.
Can anyone else feel their uterus sometimes? I can't normally as my bump is quite big and sort of solid, but when I do yoga, at the end, maybe due to the blood rushing down there or something, I can feel my uterus very distinctly and the rest of the bump seems to fall away so i get the dip by my hips back if that makes sense.
Does anyone else have that if anyone does yoga or exercise? And is it normal? Not been able to find out anything about that and none of the instructors seem to know!!
My bellybutton popped out this week too. Quite odd!
I haven't had heartburn yet but my sis did when she was pg and recommended drinking milk.

Whatevertheweather · 28/04/2012 10:10

Argh is anyone else leaking milk already?!

rightontime · 28/04/2012 11:26

Twizzle yes had the burny throat the last 2 nights. not bad enough for the gaviscon yet thank god.

Whatever Not leaking but do get some when I give them a squeeze! Blush

MakeTeaNotWar · 28/04/2012 12:38

Polly and ST82 have we got the same due dates? I am Sep 26th and 20 week scan is on May 10 which is DH's 40th! Second DC here and I can't feel any movement yet Sad when did the rest of you start feeling LO?

flipflopper · 28/04/2012 14:19

maketea i wonder if your placenta is anterior like mine? It should say on your 12 week scan report.
I started feeling proper movements at around 19 weeks with this one (3rd), I was feeling something before that, but couldnt be sure it was baby!
Now i'm 21 weeks, and I can only feel movements low down and at the sides. The midwife said I would be able to feel more as the baby grows!

MakeTeaNotWar · 28/04/2012 14:49

Hmm no my scan notes don't mention an anterior placenta... I should feel something soon right? Heard heartbeat last week so everything is ok isn't it? I felt DD at 20 weeks so maybe I am being impatient but at 18+4, I expected to feel something by now

PollyIndia · 28/04/2012 15:37

Maketeanotwar I am a day after you, 27th, though not expecting anything until the 6th october at the earliest. I cant feel anything yet I don't think. i do feel a 'quickening' (which I put in commas as it feels like a really old fashioned word, but that's what I feel) and I felt a sharp poke earlier - not sure if baby or just a funny pain..
It's my first so not sure what I am looking for.
Not heard heartbeat for a few weeks but am assuming all ok. Not much else you can do really, is there

elliemay80 · 28/04/2012 17:46

Is anyone else getting quiet days wrt movements? I am 21+4 and been feeling daily movement since around Monday and less frequent movement from 20 weeks...today it has been very quiet in there. Was on my feet all day doing housework then shopping etc but been sitting quietly for a good few hours now and nothing, well maybe slight movements but not as definite as usual....I have an anterior placenta so realise the movements may be cushioned.

Has anyone else had quiet days? Have tried the cold glass of water and lying on my left side thing...I know if someone else wrote this I would write all kinds of reassuring things but it's not as easy reassuring yourself!!

MissCoffeeNWine · 28/04/2012 18:28

Glad to read so much good scan news. I still have to wait a while for mine but I'm 20+5 now and getting good kicks aimed at the laptop (baby has firm opinions about anything restricting its kicking range) Still not showing really though. I mean I think I look preggers but noone else ever notices until I tell them and then they're really surprised and tell me I'm small, which makes me worry.

I'm not in team pink, I'm having a girl, and I imagine she'll be a pinky peach kind of a colour as I'm caucasian, but pink won't go anywhere near her - I don't do stereotyping Wink

holistichorsehelp · 28/04/2012 21:15

Hi there, am new to this forum, due date is 11th Sept so I guess this bus is where I belong! Generally all seems to be going smoothly so far, this is first baby so don't really know what to expect! Biggest stress is that I'm self employed and main wage earner, so working flat out while I can to earn enough to take some time off! Was hoping other half would be able to get maternity pay instead of me, but it's not looking that way from whaf we've been told :-( Must have overdone it a bit last week because been so exhausted today I could hardly get off the sofa! At least I'm on a rare weekend off so I can recover! Overall very excited though, 20 week scan was on Thurs and all seems well apparently, they were very confident we're having a boy.

PollyIndia · 28/04/2012 22:11

I'm with you holistichorsehelp! I was travelling in India when I found out about my (unplanned) pregnancy. Came home and have had to freelance as I wasn't comfortable starting a perm job at nearly 4 mths pg. The father of the baby doesn't want to be involved so it's quite stressful figuring out the money thing. I am going to have to carry on working when the baby is here - just hope I can do it from home for a while.

Are you not entitled to MA? I'm not as I have been travelling, but think I might be able to get SMP through my own business I have set up. Trying to figure it out now. Not enough for my mortgage, let alone anything else though!
I am sure it will work out. Just trying to take things one day at a time.

Congrats on the good 20 week scan. I have another week and a half until mine.

Rusulka · 29/04/2012 10:02

MissCoffee I'm with you on the whole pink/blue thing.
I pretty much don't want to tell anyone I don't know very well the sex since I know they'll buy something pink and I'll bloody hate it... but what can you do though?
I've been everywhere looking for a reasonably priced hooded baby towel that isn't pink or blue- nothing. Going to give up and just buy brightly coloured hand towels from Asda for £3- my mum said she never had a hooded towel for me, and it wasn't really important, so I'm trying to be sensible!
I'm aware I've bought some things which are probably ridiculous, and anyone my parents' age is quietly laughing at me for getting gimmicky things, but oh well. I've tried to restrict it to a minimum!

I am 22 weeks today (or 23 if you believe the NHS) and I've been feeling Peanut move for about 2 weeks or so (coincidentally when MiL left, hmm). My placenta is anterior, so assume either it's moved up, since I'm feeling the kicks in my lower front, or that Peanut kicks like a mule!

EllieMay I find that I feel Peanut first thing in the morning- kicks in the bladder- for a little bit, but mostly I feel them in the evening, and when I go to bed. I think I read somewhere that at this stage they're on a 12-14 hour sleep cycle, so maybe they only wake up occasionally, and if you're moving around, I guess you're less likely to feel it. I get a few movements after eating something, especially if it's been sweet, or I guess strongly flavoured, like salt and vinegar crisps- but like I said, mainly the evenings, which is a shame as SiL was hoping to feel her move, but it was only late afternoon! DH feels her move at night, but only if it's a strong kick, which to be honest feel more like headbutts, lol!

The ladies who leak (or can squirt)- can you tell me if you're on first babies please, or whether you're on #2 or more? Want to know when I can gross DH out by squirting him in the face!

cjbk1 · 29/04/2012 10:31

rusulka depends what you call reasonable but we got beigey teddy bear hooded towels from Avon about £10 each and we'v also had other teddy or 'non gender stereotype ones' from h&m
