Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MissCoffeeNWine · 03/04/2012 22:04

I had a scan today at the consultant and found out the sex Grin Didn't get a picture this time but I will be back for another scan in 3 wks.

Couldn't care less about the sex really (knew it from conception) but nice to be proved right, even though I know it can all change coz they can get it wrong! Baby looks good for now and everything seems okay but they didn't get all the placenta position and blood checks they wanted so not totally reassured.

I am pregnant with a little girl

MissCoffeeNWine · 03/04/2012 22:07

Oh and I'm 17 weeks 2 days now but don't have the anomaly scan booked until the first week of May at 22 wks. So I will have to wait

funchum8am · 03/04/2012 22:11

Congratulations misscoffee both on a healthy scan and on finding out about your little girl. FX the 22 week one rolls around quickly for you!

oikopolis · 03/04/2012 22:17

eeek MissCoffee congrats! LittleMissCoffee on her way! that is lovely :)

i am also thinking this is a little girl. don't know why but honestly have almost defaulted to that in my mind since day 1. friend of mine (superstitious type) took one look at me at 4 weeks pregnant and said "it's a girl, i know it", so i guess we'll have to see!

will be fine if i'm proved wrong, DH wants a boy, i think he's intimidated by the idea of a little girl tbh!

MissCoffeeNWine · 03/04/2012 22:26

We already have a DD so DH is used to it Grin It's a bit sad in an odd way as it was our DS who we lost in pregnancy. But I'm not trying to replace him just grow our family and we're very very happy to have another girl. Everyone in the family has one of each so we'll be the odd ones out! Best start saying DD1 and DD2 yeah!

funchum8am · 03/04/2012 22:32

I was convinced I was having a girl but then had an unbelievably vivid dream about being in the back of a car coming home from hospital cradling a little boy....slightly ruined by my mum (in the dream) yelling "PUT HIM BACK IN THE CAR SEAT!" Trust health and safety to ruin my baby bliss dream....(no idea where DH was in this dream) But the feeling of sheer joy at my little bundle was absolutely incredible. So that has set me back to being 50/50 and having no clue which it is. We will both be happy either way, boy or girl.

Whatevertheweather · 03/04/2012 22:38

Hi ladies, sorry I've been awol for a while. I've been checking in and reading everyone's lovely news (Grin for a little girl MissCoffee) I'm going through major fear about this pregnancy so haven't been posting as don't want to bring the thread down. Have no reason to think anything is wrong just been feeling very scared and grieving for my dd2. I just cant seem to believe we're going to have a happy ending this time.

Have felt the odd definite movement but very sporadic 18 weeks today so hopefully will get more regular soon. Got a reassurance appt with midwife on Thursday to listen to heartbeat again and then scan on 25th April when I'll be 21 weeks.

ballroomblitz · 03/04/2012 23:06

Congratulations on the scan and dd2 Misscoffee

MakeTea my scan is on the 9th May so yes, it feels forever away.

You shouldn't stay off the thread for fear of bringing it down whatevertheweather It's completely understandable you feeling the way you do.

I haven't been feeling much the last week at all after feeling a bit of movements for a few weeks so will be reassuring for the mw to check the hb next week. Have gone up another bra size so that's the four new ones I bought about two months ago having to be put away. More weight than baby is responsible however.

twizzlestix · 03/04/2012 23:22

Congrats coffee what a lovely surprise to find out already! So glad all is well with your little one :D

pgreen · 04/04/2012 07:38

MissCoffee so exciting, what wonderful news

flipflopper · 04/04/2012 09:47

WOW misscoffee!! congratulations on your little girl, how exciting! I am going to find out the sex of mine at my scan in 3 weeks, can't wait!

macaroons I'm sure I can feel mine moving now too, only when I'm sitting still or lying down. It's a lovely feeling!

Loup23 · 04/04/2012 11:17

Congratulations on little girl news misscoffee - Smile

Lovely to hear people are starting to feel movements, yesterday I definitely felt a lot of wriggling, nothing today so far but hoping it becomes more regular. I think I might be the first to have a"20 week" then? Uber organised hospital are doing it tomorrow at 18+5 (wouldn't listen to me when I said I ovulated late..... Hmm

macaroons I have started thinking about maternity leave (dreaming of the days when I don't have to commute!) I would like to work as late as possible but also concerned about the Olympics/sweaty tube and London generally when 8/9 months pregnant.... I think I will see how it goes but am hoping I can wing some "working from home" days.....

Sorry to hear you're having a wobble whatever completely understandable, do still come on here and share your concerns, am sure lots of us have the same worries.

maketea hope your DD gets better soon and you are ok

methe sending you my thoughts if you're out there x

Congratulations miss coffee another girl:-) wonder how many pink and blues we'll have on this thread..... were thinking ours is team blue!

Im off work sick today could do with some advice/hand holding! I feel like im leaking, thought I was wetting my self to start with, sorry if tmi but it feels like a constant trickle, babys ok I can feel movement right this minute! I'm booked in to see my consultant for emergency scan friday morning (the earliest they could see me) am being daft it seems a lot more than the discharge I've had its clear and watery?!

Trying to keep positive and not stress too much its so hard!

Smallgreenone · 04/04/2012 12:52

How exciting misscoffee another little girl!!!
I'm thinking of going right up to 37 weeks and then taking 2 weeks of holiday before I start my mat leave. That's providing I can cope with an hours commute each way to work.
Had my 16 week appointment today and all is well. The midwife said I shouldn't worry about bump not growing etc as its irrelevant apparently and they won't even measure the bump until 28 weeks so for those worrying about bump size maybe that eases your worries.
Hope those with worries get some peace of mind soon.
Xxx

nikosmum2010 · 04/04/2012 13:51

hi ladies, haven't been here for a while. Nice to hear all the good news and sorry to those we have lost along the way. I'm 16+4 and can't believe I'm still feeling sick, looks like its here to stay, anybody else? I also get incredibly hungry. Looking forward to 20 week scan.

Dunnitt · 04/04/2012 14:56

Hi everyone whos ahead of me in their pregnancy. I'm 14.5 wks and wondering when I will start showing. I an fatter around the middle, but pretty sure its a food related rather than a baby bump, as a result of eating too many carbs during the nausea stage. When will I know the bump is baby and not fat!

Littlecherublegs · 04/04/2012 15:11

Congrats misscoffee on your baby girl, how exciting!! I think we're having a girl though DH is convinced its a boy. Saying that, I did have a very vivid dream last night that we had a baby boy - we'd named it and everything! Dont know if thats a preminition??!! We dont mind either way as long as it is healthy and perfect!! Smile

macaroons I feel like I could go on maternity leave right now!! Think I'll have to wait a little longer though with my annual leave, I should be able to finish work when Im around 34 weeks. Cant wait!! Smile

smallgreen thanks for info on bump size. I too dont feel like my bump is growing and I havent put on any weight over the last couple of weeks or so. However, I do feel 'fatter' and DH says I do look bigger (he meant it in the nicest possible way!) so Im not worried. Be nice to see baby again at the 20 weeks scan though (3 weeks to go!)

nikosmum sorry to hear you're still feeling sick. Mine has calmed down a lot although I do feel nauseas now and again. As for eating, oh God yes!! Like a pig - all day - every day for about 17 weeks now!!!! I had 2 dinners last night - none of them healthy either (fried egg & beans on toast followed about 3 hours later by chips, peas & gravy from the chippy!! Blush
How I havent put on weight I do not know!!!!

ju1es sorry to hear you're not feeling great. I cant really comment on what you're experiencing but fingers crossed its nothing to worry about. Feeling the baby move is a definite good thing in my book as is clear discharge (I'd obviously be more worried if it was bloody). I know its common to have extra vaginal discharge during pregnancy so it could be that. Hope everything will be ok anyway.

And I take back what I said about not feeling as tired anymore - I feel asleep at 4pm yesterday for 2 hours!!!! Then went to bed again at about 11pm and slept through til 9am!!!! Anyone else this whacked??!!

rightontime · 04/04/2012 15:26

Re marking my place :)

Congratulations misscoffee on your girl, hope it all continues well for you.

Whatever I hope your ok. I always feel like I am bringing the thread down too with my negativity so know how you feel. I have been lurking more recently.

My 20week scan is on the 19th, any scan buddies?

leelteloo · 04/04/2012 15:57

Hi jules, I'm not surprised you're feeling a bit anxious but I'm sure it will be fine or they would have got you to come straight in for a scan and baby moving is a good sign. Virtual hugs and fingers crossed. Xx

Prunia · 04/04/2012 16:06

Hi rightontime my fellow lurker!
I read mostly every night to keep up on all the news but haven't been up to posting..
You've inspired me to stick my head in as my big scan is on April 19th too at 19.5 weeks, can't wait !

I'm off to Italy tomorrow for Easter , Dp is Italian so we go a lot, the in laws are beside themselves with excitement at the imminent first grandchild so not doubt I will be forcefed like a little duck.. ;0)

elliemay80 · 04/04/2012 19:18

Congratulations MissCoffee, glad all is going well this time.

I'll be taking mat leave at 32 weeks but will be going back very part time if at all. Have a few freelance options so may work from home after mat leave so not too bothered about taking it early. 6 weeks of that will be annual leave anyway so mat leave proper will start at 38 weeks.

Whatever and rightontime glad I'm not the only one who feels like a negative presence on the thread.

10 days until 20 week scan- roll on!

Ju1es22 · 04/04/2012 19:58

Thanks littlecherublets and lelteloo, feeling ok its not as heavy after an afternoon with my feet up fingers crossed it'll be ok, midwife said theres nothing they can do just to rest and whatver will be will be, if i bleed or have a gush im to go straight to hospital! I feel stupid really I worry over everything its good to know im not the only one, I just want to enjoy my pregnancy not be neurotic with worry:(

I too am sorry to bring negativity to the thread! Its just hard with my past history and problems so far in this pregnancy, it helps to write my feelings down I feel a little release.

Im exhausted too littlecherublets think i'll be off to bed shortly!

Take care everyone xx

ballroomblitz · 04/04/2012 23:52

Fingers crossed everything is ok for you Ju1es

I don't know why we all worry about bringing the thread down? I know I do at times too. Pregnancy is hard work and a really stressful and worrying time. You are anxious about every little thing and then that worry escalates if you know you may have problems or have had problems in the past.

Why is it we put pressure on ourselves to live up to the ideal of the glowing, happy, carefree pregnant woman who just sails through it? Life is not a bed of roses unfortunately.

Loup23 · 05/04/2012 08:07

Morning all hope you're ok ju1es echo everyone else's virtual hugs and hope that the scan tomorrow brings some reassurance, this pregnancy journey never gets easier!

I'm off for my 20 week scan today, nervous but excited, will let you all know how I get on x
