Hi ruthlouise and big welcome. Feel free to chat away whenever you want. Recent hot topics have included boob size (yes Boopert I have ginormous knockers too); farting, fatigue and knickers.
You sound like you're really going through it--how are you coping?
I've added you to our stats.

LOL re stats - lucky there isn't a 16th or 17th at mo! Maybe will opt for 15th if Trix1 doesn't mind sharing Wink

boobs? I love pregnancy - only time I have a bust - even then doesn't make cleavage 'til the milk supply comes in - ouch that reminds me - engorgement now there's an experience in its own right...
knickers - bigger the better - move over Bridget Jones....
farting - least said the better if u dont mind!
fatigue - no chance with all this bedrest!!!

How about the topic of bladders? Anyone else wake up in the night or morning with the uterus pushed up like half a grapefruit by a full bladder?! Looks bizarre...

Arabica · 09/03/2006 22:55

I can't tell where my uterus is! I'm just huge all over and even bigger when I need the loo.

Act · 09/03/2006 23:07

hi ruthlouise, and welcome

i'm keeping fingers crossed for you, it sounds like you're having a really stressful time. I hope mumsnet can help you pass the time while on bedrest - i don't have that excuse and seem to spend hours here (mostly lurking)

i get the full bladder = grapefruit uterus thing too! it is very odd. in fact i was wondering if it was a braxton hicks? it's my first preg so i have no clue...

I'm off to bed and away for the next couple of days (no interweb! shudder) so hope everyone has a good weekend!!

kitegirl · 10/03/2006 08:52

Hi ruthlouise and welcome to MN. A great source of support and encouragement and a great place to let off steam as well! You look after yourself and hope to see you on the thread a lot!

Me, I am all over the place at the moment with hormones, watched ER last night in floods of tears, dh called as it was ending and thought someone had died. This morning I cried when ds fed the dog and I thought it was so cute. I'll see if that Dairy Milk bar will help...

trix1 · 10/03/2006 10:22

Morning, hope the dairy milk helps Kitegirl.

Welcome Ruthlouise, yes we will be due on the 15th together, the sooner the better.

People keep suggesting that becuase I had ds almost 3 weeks early the same will happen this time. I hope it does but knowing my luck it will be two weeks late.

Boopert · 10/03/2006 10:58

Well i'm now 19 weeks today. Still convinced i'm a couple of weeks further. They are going by a scan i had done at 7 weeks where you couldn't really see much.....
And besides, i know the one and only time i had sex!!! Grin

melsy · 10/03/2006 11:15

welcome ruthlouise, I really feel for you , Im very teary this morning , so I was blubbing reading your post. You sound strong , which is great.

Im really struggling today , Ive now not slept for 3 days and suffering, not sure if its just a bad cold/throat or laryngitis or something , as have nearly lost voice today & last night my sleep was all trippy and pyshchadelic (sp?). I havent stopped crying since 5am , as dd woke up and I just didnt have strength to go and see to her. Dh went to her instead , but cant really help today he HAS to be at work.

jayjaybaby · 10/03/2006 11:47

BigHotMama · 10/03/2006 11:48

Morning Ladies, sorry to hear your feeling crappy Melsy n hope your better soon! I take off my hat to all you mothers that already have little ones - how do you do it?
Big welcome to Ruthlouise...sending lots of positive vibes your way, my fingers are crossed for you!
Well I got 9 days to go until I hit the 20 week mark! Got a midwife appointment on Monday then my scan next week! So excited and anxious!
Did anybody see Desperate Midwives the other night? I was sobbing like crazy and to be honest it scared the s* out of me!
Oh and my bladder is doing the grapefruit thingy too, seem to be weeing so much, I remember when I could go through the day with only one visit to our works toilet - now its more like 3 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon (not that I'm counting or anything?)
Wink

jayjaybaby · 10/03/2006 11:54

oh i forgot to say after worrying for the last 10 wks i was putting loads of weight on i looked thru my notes yesterday and i havent put a single pound one Grin
ruthlouise does bedrest mean hospital bed rest

eve2005 · 10/03/2006 11:56

hi ruth, so sorry to hear about the horrible time your having, baby sounds like a fighter though so i'm sure everything will be fine. welcome to mn!

kitegirl, if you think crying at er is bad you should have seen me watching cold case and bones last night, cried so hard i hiccuped, much to dp's amusement.

cried again this morning but with more reason, dd was sick last night before bed so when she woke in middle of night i took her into bed with me in a mixture of misguided sympathy and exhaustion. big mistake! she spent all night alternating between kicking me and crying, got a total of about an hours sleep before she wanted to be up at half 7. lord knows how i'm gonna cope with two of them!

jayjaybaby · 10/03/2006 11:59

eve how old is your dd we are thinking about having another but wondering about age gap sorry to hear you had no sleep it must be horrendous

eve2005 · 10/03/2006 12:01

melsy, missed your post when i was reading through, tackled by screaming tornado, aka dd. sorry your feeling so rough, is there anyone you can call to take dd for the afternoon so you can sleep?

eve2005 · 10/03/2006 12:10

jay jay, she's 13 months so she'll be 19 months or there abouts when baby comes. knew we wanted our kids to be close enough in age so left it up to chance, didn't expect it to happen so soon as we took two years to conceive with her and our sex life wasn't exactly active as i was bf and we were co-sleeping with dd!

somehow i managed to get preg before having a single period, which is very amusing when the docs ask for the date of LMP and i answer 12-4-04!

quite happy for them to be close in age though as hopefully they'll be friends and watch out for each other.

Nbg · 10/03/2006 12:39

Ey up everyone Grin

Massive welcome Ruthlouise, lots of hugs to you too. You sounds as though you have a real little fighter on your hands. That does not bode well for the terrible two stage Grin

Well I'm in a top mood. We made a huge last minute dash up to North Yorks yesterday after seeing that one of the houses we had shortlisted, had been reduced by £10k! We got up there and was a little disappointed as it only has a small yard and is next to the local village pub
but it's 4 bedroom, a lovely cottage with all period features in and is in a top location where people kill to get there kids in to the local school.
So we've put in an offer and we're waiting to hear back. Turns out dh knows the seller too!

Not much to say on the baby front, not much kicking tbh but am loving my ever growing boobs Grin
38DD beauties Grin
Will be 18 weeks on Sunday.

jayjaybaby · 10/03/2006 13:46

nbg are u a fellow northerner where are you
just think if ur next to pub the baby monitor will be able to pick up in there so u can booze responsiblyGrin lmao just kidding
eve2005 thats good to know must say if one more person says to me just wait and see what happens with this one i'll kill them at the end of the day there is only 18 months between me and my bro and we're close and as we all no conceiving is a game of chance good look with the sale

Nbg · 10/03/2006 13:52

Well we're Barnsley atm but coming to Northallerton.

ruthlouise · 10/03/2006 14:52

eve2005 - I think that'll be a lovely age gap - there were 15 months between my older brother and me. It was great until my little brother came along - then they ganged up on me! Seriously we were all close as my mum had 3 under 4 at one point.

I also have dd who will be 2 at end of July so if this little one makes it, that'll be a nice gap as well - we wanted 2 within 2 years but took 6 months to conceive this one so in hindsight maybe should have started earlier - blame the breastfeeding [grin}

Is anyone on this forum expecting twins? At one point I kind of madly hoped I was as my mum was a twin (my poor gran had 2 sets!)and they say it skips a generation.

kitegirl · 10/03/2006 15:48

Nbg that's so exciting! Fingers crossed that you get the house! and as it is 4 bedrooms you'll have lots of room for visitors.....Grin

Back pain, indigestion, headaches, mood swings, spontaneous bursting into tears, wind... this pregnancy business is so glamorous, isn't it!

I am just going to finish the last piece of ds's birthday cake.... heaven.

Nbg · 10/03/2006 16:05

Yes you can come up and stop Grin
We still haven't heard back and it's stressing me out. So thought a bit of mnetting would calm me down.

I have a dairy milk bar and a creme egg to eat tonight when dd has gone to bed. Bliss!
Although it took 2 and a half hours of screaming until she calmed down last night.

Arabica · 10/03/2006 18:12

I think you lot with your small age gaps are really brave! DS is nearly 5 and I think I have blocked out any memories of broken nights and sleeplesness. He still wakes up about 1-3am every night and comes into our bed but he has learnt to do it quietly or get chucked out.
Am very happy today because Hoxtonchick (another mn person) lent me most of her maternity wardrobe! Am wearing smart Top Shop T-shirt and lovely comfy jeans.
