Boopert · 08/03/2006 15:16

Well the last two pg's were winter babies so this is going to be a new one on me!! I remember my sis smelling a lot with dn. Hes an end of July baby.......
Oh no, lots of smelly hormonal women on the loose!

Arabica · 08/03/2006 15:21

I'm already pretty smelly--shocking wind with this pregnancy!!

Boopert · 08/03/2006 15:27

Ok, will admit to the wind. But its sooooo loud its got no chance of smelling Well, you know what they say, loud n proud...!

BunnyGirl · 08/03/2006 16:30

Good afternoon everyone! Having been away for what seems like ages with work, its nice to come back to read so many new posts and see new people on our strand.
I can identify with the wind thing.. I've always suffered from IBS so its been bad before but now its terrible! I thought it was suppose to get better but I can emit wind louder than a dray-horse. Nice...
I don't think I've felt any movement though, but its my first and I don't know what I'm looking for. I sometimes feel little bubbling sessions, especially when I've been sat at my desk for ages, but assumed it was yet more wind.

BigHotMama · 08/03/2006 16:42

Hi everone, hope your all good! Thanks for mat wear link, I too have printed it out and will be having good look at the sites! Some nice tunic tops on the additions site..think I'm spent out already ha!
I havent really had much wind yet but am snoring my head off every night, DH is now wearing ear plugs lol, I think its because Ive constantly got a stuffy nose and evertime I blow it there is blood bogeys (sorry if TMI) I've heard this is yet another PG symptom! Shock
Good news on your having a boy Bupert! I keep getting told by everyone around me that I'll have a boy? How on earth do they know that when I cant even tell? I'm also waiting for a surprise! Got my scan in 2 weeks yipee! Grin
Feeling plenty of movement but its more internal than external at the moment, bring on those kicks!

purpleturtle · 08/03/2006 16:53

Well, I've had a session with the baby books this afternoon. All 3 of mine have the same one - the one based on Guess How Much I Love You. Discovered to my horror that I hadn't even found a photo of ds's first birthday, let alone filled in the stuff about his 2nd birthday, and then I had to sort out dd's 2nd birthday page as well (and she's 5 next month!).

Have been able to fill in the stuff about existing family, and first hearing heartbeat and feeling kicks (although I picked a random date at about the right time for that Blush)

Arabica · 08/03/2006 17:07

Hello Bunnygirl, I didn't feel anything with my first baby until about wk 20. It does sort of feel like bubbling at first but then again..so does IBS! Now it feels like something is moving inside, but it's too early for proper kicks.

Nbg · 08/03/2006 19:04

Ooooh I ache!
Lovely physio lady though. She said I have a gap in my stomach wall Shock and a problem with the discs in my back.
Oh the joys!
Anyway, I have some exercises to do including pelvic floors (grrrrr)and I have to go back next week.

Kitegirl, yes we are looking at houses but the village dh works in is quite pricey (purely postcode based) so we may go to a neighbouring village. We had someone valu our house just after xmas but we're getting someone else out tomorrow and sticking it on the market as things seem a bit slow atm.

So it's busy busy busy!

Luna, hows the sickness now?

melsy · 08/03/2006 20:36

Wow busy year hey NBG , hope the house hunt goes well. Ive had osteopath treatment for sciatica , what do they do for you in physio for treatment, as Ive had it for other things ? Ive got it quite mildly right now , so havent yet decided wether to spend money on bowen technique or acupuncture.

Shame you cant have some nurofen, Ive heard a cold pack is better than hot bath for sciatica , as you dont want to heat and expand the nerves etc in the area. A therpist friend suggested that whatever leg its in you need to lay it at and angle over the other leg and sort of stretch it out. It helps release tension in the sciatic nerve.

Ive got a nasty cold AGAIN , such a sore throat , it hurts to sneeze and talk. I havent slept for 2 days properly now. Ive had a galon of honey in boiled water with chopped oranges , but nothing is really soothing it for long stretches. BOO HOOOO BOOOO HOOO.

Oh and baby feels like its trying to kick itself out!!!

Nbg · 09/03/2006 08:21

Morning all.
Up early again Sad

Melsy, the physio is just doing a bit of munipulation for now although this appt was more chatting about the problem but she said we would do more next week.

How are we all today?

kitegirl · 09/03/2006 09:37

woo hoo ds in nursery, did all my chores yesterday and off to lunch with two girlfriends in town followed by a bit of shopping!! Grin dh is away again all week so that'll teach him.

I am getting paranoid as this baby is not moving, I actually had to do some jumping and prodding this morning to see if I could get him to wriggle about and it worked, I think. Sort of feeling tiny tiny bubbling and never sure if it's actually the baby or wind... but it's still early I know. Trying to tell myself that everythign is fine.

17+4, +11lbs, 34F Shock - absolutely gross.

olivo · 09/03/2006 10:25

Morning everyone! glad to hear i'm not the only one with monstrous boobs! Grin Feeling a little more cheerful today as i havent been sick yet and i'm off to see the consultant this afternoon. hopefully, they'll let me hear a heartbeat or something to reassure me - can you find it at 16 weeks?

If it goes well today, i'm going to tell my form group and let the news filter out from there, as theey are bound to notice soon. they're year 10, fourteen and fifteen so they'll hopefully be good about it, although I'll be abandonning them in their GCSE year!might not be very popular!

Am concerned at how comfy i'm finding these over the bump trousers - will i ever wear hipsters again?!?!

trix1 · 09/03/2006 10:31

Good Morning, I am sleeping round the clock, is anyone else still exhausted? Im back at work next week, I will be in for a shock.

I was gettig paranoid again about not feeling enough movements so popped into the midwife yesterday and she was able to pick up the heart beat straightaway. I guess another two weeks and there will be no mistaking the movements then. :o

I bought quite a few bits from topshop, H&M and next that I can mix and match and will do for a while I dont know what I will wear in the really hot days though - lie in my swimming cosi in the paddling pool :o

We have booked to go to Spain in June too - not sure if that was a good idea or not. I will be 30 weeks when I go.

BunnyGirl · 09/03/2006 10:57

Morning Everyone! I totally sympathise with you Trix1, I'm shattered, I have to go to bed at 8pm most nights and then dragging myself out at 6am to get the train into work is taking its toll... I guess we just have to go easy on ourselves and surrender to tiredness when we can!
Nbg, I can't believe how busy you are! I hope it all goes well.
Not much movement from my little bump although there was something a bit hard down there last night when I got into bed and some bubbling after. Knowing my luck, it'll just be wind!

olivo · 09/03/2006 12:10

Trix - i know some airlines are funny about flying after 28 weeks? Although I think its usually ok if you have a doctor's note saying you're 'fit to fly'! we're off to abu dhabi in 5 weeks - i cant wait! just to feel some sun on my skin... although its a beautiful day here today and not even too cold!

I'm also shattered, so my usual 9.30pm bedtime has moved forward! Grin

jayjaybaby · 09/03/2006 12:25

hi peeps not got the tired thing because im not at work and can sleep in Grin much to dh disgust went to eveans last weekend and bougth some tops from there 3 sizes too big and they look cool cover up my over the bump jeans
have decided when wheather gets hot gonna sit in my bikini in the swimming pool all day cause i live to far to walk any where interesting so im gonna wallow all day with the radio one Grin

trix1 · 09/03/2006 13:06

Olivio so Envy about your trip to Dubai, I really really want to go there.

jayjay do you have your own swimming pool? Envy

lunavix · 09/03/2006 13:11

nbg - I'm 50% better thanks :) I seem to have a day of okay eating and a day of throwing up. So not too bad! It just feels nice to keep something down... Still have to watch what I'm eating cos the wrong thing has me puking regardless!

I'm also still waiting patiently for movement, I think I'm feeling it but can't really tell...

so... 16+5, -9lb, boobs huge but were anyways!

preparingfor2 · 09/03/2006 13:50

Thanks so much for the mat wear link Arabica - I'm looking forward to having a good explore (and hopefully a spend!).

Totally agree with you all on dreading the hot weather. I'm not a big fan of it normally, but public transport is going to be a nightmare. Good excuse for finishing up work that bit earlier I reckon.

Very Envy of your sleep-ins JJ. Thankfully my DH is so good about doing just about everything at the moment, as I am washed out and work pressure is not helping. Never mind, it'll all be worth it.

Occasional odd sensations that seem like they must be kicking, but really only from one of the bubs (probably a boy!).

Had BP checked today and it was lowest for years. Wierd! 1 week til 20 week scan. Hopefully I'll get some decent pics this time, rather than the crappy ones you get at 12 weeks, although I got a video last time which was worth the exhorbitant price tag of £10. On it you can see everything start to wobble when she told me it was twins - laughing and crying at the same time - it was great to get that on tape!

Olivio, I noticed in one of your posts you refered to services "over here" - am I right in thinking you are from somewhere else originally? If, so where? Sorry for being nosey, only I am a blow-in as well.

BunnyGirl · 09/03/2006 13:58

Lunavix, that sounds horrible - you really are suffering. :(
Have you tried the Morning Well cd (google it - it brings up the website for it). Someone recommended it to me and whenever I felt sick, it took the feeling right away and I felt fine for a few days.
I know what you mean about movements too, I don't think I've really felt anything other than wind... I'm 17+3 but my bump is quite small, so perhaps its too small to feel anything yet.

olivo · 09/03/2006 16:20

I am sooooo %£$*&%!!!!! just been to the hospital and am now totally stressed out!was given appt to see consultant, waited an hour (they were apologetic!)saw a really nice midwife. At first she couldnt find the heartbeat and I totally freaked and got really upset - she went to get someone else but by the time they came she'd found it, thank God. The doctor then came, wasnt the lady consultant but a male registrar - not a problem in itself but he zoomed through my notes, and I didnt get a chance to ask any of the questions I wanted to -again (didnt feel right to bring up 'discharge' Blush etc!)!

Don't get me wrong, they were all really nice but I've come away feeling really let down and am now going to have to pay to go to my GP and ask my questions. I've gone for shared care so only go back to the hospital for 20 wk scan, two lots of anti-d and a 36 wk appt, then to have it! Other stuff will be done at GP.

Sorry Blush - rant over!! No doubt 2 packets of twigletts will calm me down.......Grin

olivo · 09/03/2006 16:24

Ah, that feels better! Thanks!

Lunavix - sorry to hear you're still feeling rubbish.Let's hope it eases up soon.

Preparingfor2 - I think i'm actually a 'blow-away' - I left England four years ago and moved here to the Channel Islands (Jersey) -that's why things , especially medical wise, are a bit different! I love it here though! Smile

Boopert · 09/03/2006 19:14

Am i the only one who ooks like a house???? With humungous boobs? Ds keeps asking why his mummy is soooo fat.....Typical man. No tact!
Also, got baaaaad Ashleys..... Think i need to sit on a rubber ring Blush Anyone else got em yet??

ruthlouise · 09/03/2006 19:38

Hi,
Have only recently discovered this website and just finding my way round.
know I'm a bit late but can I join you?

My EDD is 15/08/06 (by LMP) but scan date says 18/08/06.
I'd be surprised if I make it 'til August but you can quote me if I'm wrong!

We think baby's more likely to be a premmie as I've been having a threatened miscarriage for the last 4 and half weeks. Unfortunately I'm still bleeding and amnion (inner membrane) has collapsed around the baby due to size of haemorhage. There are some other problems too however he/she is still growing and developing well. I'm having regular scans etc and placenta seems fine as well. (There were no problems with my 12 week scan just 3 days b4 threatened miscarriage)

The consultant says things are 'looking gloomy' but we've proved them wrong several times already. I think I posted on the pregnancy forum how GP rang me two days after I was in A&E offering his condolences as there was apparently no chance baby could have survived (that was 5th Feb!). I've been signed off work since then on bedrest.

Sorry this is a long 'can I join' post but pretty please can I?!

Boopert · 09/03/2006 19:41

Hi ruth!
Well if its any consolation my friend has recently given birth to a full timer and she bled for a good few months. Went on bedrest and it turned out fine. Will keep my fingers crossed for you!
And welcome. I'm fairly new too but just jump right in!
