I am going to start doing pelvic floor exercises as think I may have had my first wee leakage after laughing too much! How embarassing to happen while I'm at work too, must remember to carry spare pair in my bag in future!

I also prefer the over bump mat trousers as keeps me bump nice n warm and know I wont give anyone a fright with sight of my hairy belly if I happen to lift my arms for a stretch or something! Shock

Boopert · 06/03/2006 15:50

Well Mil has gone. Not too painful. Did start the 'i was right about ds not being deaf. Doctors just say it so you won't sue them....'
Eh? Whats that about??

Arabica · 06/03/2006 16:50

Glad I am not the only one hitching my jeans up in the high street. I thought my bump was pretty big tbh, but maybe they're designed for 3rd trimester mountains not 2nd trimester molehills!

jayjaybaby · 06/03/2006 17:27

lol at the third trimester comment just got back from my friends am starting to get annoyed at how every1 thinks they are an expert on bump size apparently i must be at least 18 weeks must have got my dates wrong maybe its twins Angry it just makes me feel really fat Blush
is anyone else experiencing this as u know im not thin any way was a 16/18 b4 i got pregnant and all the womewn in my family look like dfs 4seater sofas after about 20 wks
but its ping me off
must say ive been given by my lovely lingerie lady some maternity pants by anita they are huge but help support your back thought may be halpful to any1 suffering with the backache Grin

Act · 06/03/2006 17:41

oooh I was going to start a thread asking what kind of knickers you are all wearing - but had second thoughts as don't want people thinking i'm a pervy troll!

seriously though, i suppose i naively thought my knickers would stay fitting under my bump but no, there is straining going on...

so - do I buy speshul maternity knickers or just larger sizes? I 'm asking to try and avoid spending money on the wrong things! thanks for your help!

jayjaybaby · 06/03/2006 17:43

ive also bought some cheap ones from tesco a size bigger if you get hipster they sit under bump

Boopert · 06/03/2006 19:04

I've...ahem...got some from Mothrcare. Over the bump with built in bump and back support. Very sexy Smile

Arabica · 06/03/2006 21:02

Haven't ever tried proper maternity pants, but they sound like a good idea. At the mo am wearing one size larger than usualgot a cheapo pack from Matalan in the sale. Last time I got some HUGE 'full briefs' (ie, granny pants) from M&S, they were so comfywould definintely recommend. One woman at yoga has maternity G-strings, goodness knows why...

Arabica · 06/03/2006 21:08

Anyone else noticed their fitness levels dropping? I've really noticed it on my bike. When I cycled back from the hospital (less than 15 mins) I was exhausted---my legs can't cope!

kitegirl · 06/03/2006 21:50

still in Victoria's Secret g-strings, me - won't give in to big pants until at the very last moment. Gap does very comfy big pants. More important after the birth, I'd hang on to the last dregs of pretty girlyness until the leaky boobs, stretch marks and post-baby tummy... Wink

Arabica · 07/03/2006 10:39

Woman in g-strings is about 8 months pregnant, if I tried them on at that size they'd disappear never to be seen again!

Act · 07/03/2006 11:45

my mind boggles at the thought of maternity g strings - how do they work?!

olivo · 07/03/2006 12:58

Hi everyone! Grin at maternity g-strings! I'm still in my normal knickers - hadnt really thought about maternity ones!

have been feeling a bit low for the last few days - not sure why but not sleeping well, seem to be more sick than last week (had to run out of assembly this morning to throw up , bizarrely the children still dont seem to suspect anything! Grin). I feel in a bit of a limbo, no scan for another 5 weeks, no signs of movement yet, lots of feeling faint - I guess I was naive and thought I'd be glowing and bouncing around once in the 2nd trimester!

sorry, end of complaints - feel better for sharing it though!

Arabica · 07/03/2006 13:05

Yes, it is a bit of a limbo time isn't it. I've got my 20wk scan on 17 March--I get a consultant's appt the same day (because I have had a previous C-section), then another long wait until next appt at 26wks, then 30, 34, 38 & 41 wks (which hopefully I won't need because I will be busy looking after the baby!)

eve2005 · 07/03/2006 13:40

hello all, glad to hear everythings ok arabica!

highly amused at the maternity g-string concept Grin she must be one of the lucky few who manages to avoid piles!

must ask though, is anyone else getting really spotty. it's driving me mad, especially seeing as i didn't get any spots last time. strangest thing is my skin is still bone dry but covered in really vicious red spots. Angry i've tried all sorts of cleansers and creams but nothing works, anyone got any suggestions?

Arabica · 07/03/2006 13:47

Sorry eve, have also got bad skin! Not too bad on face but spotty chest, yuck.
Baby's been moving around a bit more today--I think it must be because the midwife pressed so hard with her doppler!

Act · 07/03/2006 14:16

I have got a spot ON MY BUMP!!!! And I can't stop 'worrying' it (as dh would say). It is right where the seam rubs on my jeans...grrrr

Eve- don't know if this might help, but if you have quite dry skin and spots perhaps your skin needs a rest from makeup/cleansers. I try to spend as much time as poss without makeup and only wash my face once a day when that happens.

my skin went trhough a crap phase a few weeks ago i think it must have been the hormones changing at the end of the first trimester?

Nbg · 07/03/2006 15:11

Hi everyone Smile

Arabica, glad to hear what the midwife has said. It kind of reassured me a bit.
I've been panicking again. When I'm stood up I have the most massive bump but when I lie down it all disappears. I'm really resisting calling the midwife but I don't know if I can hang on for another 2 and a half weeks till my scan.

As for pants, I've found mine have become quite uncomfy but I've bought a pack of Mothercare under bump mini briefs off ebay. Only paid £4 for them rather than £10 from the shop. I also got an M&S bra for £3 and a mothercare one for £3!
Last time round I lived in those T-string things from Topshop, they were fab but sadly my arse has grown since then so not really a good look Wink

Eve, My skin has just come out in a little outbreak so I bought a tea tree and witch hazel exfoliater from Boots yesterday. Tried it out last night and it's cleared them up a bit.

Dh has his interview today for full time hours at the childrens centre he works at part time. We've been looking at houses around that area so I'm getting really excited as we've seen some fab places but I'm a little freaked out that I'll have to find new Gp's and midwives, never mind a new place to have the baby!
Oh well one step at a time.

Aren't MIL's the best

NOT!
Grin

BigHotMama · 07/03/2006 16:10

Afternoon ladies, hope your all well! Smile

My skin seems to be glowing one week then the next week I get a few big boster spots on my chin that really hurt! Its got to be our hormones! I'm just making sure I cleanse and moisturise everyday! Couldnt live without my make up though as need some colour in my cheeks due to being mighty pale at moment!

I am still in my normal pants at mo but keep having to pull them up over my bump as they keep rolling down LOL! I'm a thong girl but big pants are so comfy! DH aint very keen but at the end of the day comfort has got to be more important!
Sounds like you got yourself some bargains there NBG! I'm now on the lookout!
Wink

Boopert · 07/03/2006 19:09

Gosh, 'normal' pants just won't go anywhere near my tummy! And if i do under the bump i spent all day fiddling with them.....

Well am 18+4weeks and found out today i'm having another boy!!! Third in a row but couldn't be happier.

Hope you are all well x

melsy · 07/03/2006 19:17

My word this thread is big again!! I just cant take it all in !Although lol at all the knicker talk , ive got big size g's as always wear them and just bought mothercare g strings to and they are quite comfy.

Oh lovely boopert , to know the sex ,hence your boys name thread. I saw my shortlisted name on there!!! I really really want to know this time, but my borough doesnt disclose sex. At £200 for a sex scan seems a waste of money since Ill know in 5mths(plse gd), but I sooooooooooooo want to know.

purpleturtle · 07/03/2006 19:20

I just put up with rolling down pants!

Must be nice to know, Boopert. I've decided not to find out, and have turned down the anomaly scan so that I can't be tempted! But I can so understand why people find out!

OP posts:
Boopert · 07/03/2006 19:21

Thats a bit steep!
The only reason sonographer told me this early is because i see her every Tues for a cervical length scan (nice) so i have been pestering her for weeks!!!! And i see her in two weeks for the detailed scan so i get a piccie!

Boopert · 07/03/2006 19:22

Well PT, i HATE surprises....lol. And i want to be prepared. Its easier for ds too as we lost a baby boy 18months ago during pg so it was really hard for him. At least now its a real person to him.

kitegirl · 07/03/2006 19:49

Oh Boopert, how awful for you and your family. Nice that you are having another boy - what is it going to be like with 3? I have my hands full with one already!
