Jayjay your not alone.... Only thing is now got high sex drive but forbidden by consultant to do anything about it!!!!
Have been getting a lot of kicks and what feels like pinches! I'm sure baby is playing with a nerve.....

pucca · 05/03/2006 21:10

Isn't it an old wives tale that if you have a high sex drive it is a boy? I am the same with this one, but didn't want DH anywhere near me when pg with my dd.

Boopert · 05/03/2006 21:12

I'm the opposite. With ds couldn't bear him kissing me, let alone anything else! This time thou.....
Maybe its the old 'you can't have it so you want it' syndrome...Blush

BigHotMama · 06/03/2006 09:50

Morning ladies,
I must admit I have spent most the weekend with hand stuck on bump waiting to feel a kick or flutter but havent felt much at all and I'm 18 weeks today! My DH says not to worry as its probably early yet, and in one of my books it says around 20-24 weeks for your 1st baby so am not going to worry myself anymore!
I also feel more flutters when sitting propped upright at my desk, sure I felt a small kick few minutes ago but when I put my hand there - nothing!
If it wasnt for my achy sore boobs and evergrowing bump I wouldnt feel pg at all! Feel really 'normal' and energised at moment! Even managed a 10 minute quicky in the bedroom yesterday as felt strong urge to have it! And everybody I speak to are certain its going to be a boy! Did the ring test thingy twice at weekend and it was girl both times?
Hope everybody's feeling good and not worrying too much...in a few weeks we will all be talking about how the kicks are keeping us awake at night!!!! Lol x

kitegirl · 06/03/2006 10:11

ENERGISED? what's that like???

I've been up since 5 and I have huge spot on my forehead. And the washing machine is leaking - I am trying to ignore it and hoping it's going to fix itself. Sex is the last thing in my mind.

have a good day everyone, it's gloriously sunny here in South-East London!!

kitegirl · 06/03/2006 10:19

oh and my 2 yr old is just feeding the labrador all his play-doh. I'm nuts to be having another one.

melsy · 06/03/2006 10:23

lol kitegirl , mines shouting at me for tkaing some of her paper !!

Your yoga sounds wonderful , theres no yoga for pg women round here , unless you book a one to one practioner.

lol at all the randy mums !!!

IM soooo pooped today , got a cold start yesterday , and v busy weekend , cant seem to move from sofa , dd has all her toys out all over me !!Oh and of course lap top is on sofa with me.

Anyone watching the wright stuff?? He has pg clinic on right now.

jayjaybaby · 06/03/2006 11:00

sorry about long post got carried away

Boopert · 06/03/2006 11:08

Don't worry, my Mil kept saying i probably would'nt be able to breastfeed. 'Don't think your a failure, its obviously not natural for you'.
This was while we had to live with her for two months, needless to say, got soooooooooooo stressed my milk dried up before i'd even started! Then got the bloody 'told you so' from her! This time it's gonna be different.....

Boopert · 06/03/2006 11:09

Oh, and have leaky boobs too. And every other pg symptom you could imagine..... lol

jayjaybaby · 06/03/2006 11:11

shes normally lovely and has been better than my own mum but she is so pessimistic about me 'coping' with feeding bathing looking after my child its really starting to piss me off im not the most placid of peole at the best of times and if she carries on ive told dh i will stop seeing her but he just shrugs i wish he'd have a bit more guts and tell her to do one
Sad

Boopert · 06/03/2006 11:13

Does she live on her own?
Mine does and she gets rather possesive of my dh and ds. Drives me nuts! When shes good i can handle her but when she starts i just ignore her for about a week. Luckily dh knows what shes like.

BigHotMama · 06/03/2006 11:35

Well girls, my MIL is the total opposite (perhaps not in a healthy way tho!), she doesn't visit, ring to see how we are, or get involved in our lives, but that may change once the baby is born! I cant imagine what the reverse would be like??!

Arabica · 06/03/2006 11:42

Mine's perfectshe lives in Australia! My mum's the hands-off sort, she really doesn't like babies much and doesn't know what to do with themno wonder I've been in therapy for so long!
Anyway, good news from me is I went to the obstetric assessment unit at the hospital this morning & a midwife found a nice strong heartbeat for me; she explained that the baby was hiding behind the placenta and when that happens you can't feel much. Feel much better now and am planning to go to antenatal exercise class at the gym.

jayjaybaby · 06/03/2006 11:53

oh yeah the mil lives on her own for the last 29 years and dhis only son tho she has two daughters and they have kids i just think she doesnt think when she opens her mouth she was the same about our wedding last years when we told them we were she was like i'll believe it when i see it so we didnt involve her on anything then she starts whinging and moaning re not being involved she didnt even take me aside on the day and tell me i looked nice there is classic picture of me and dh kissing at wedding and she is in background with a mouth like a cats ass Grin i feel sorry for her but she can be so thoughtless as you can tell this is a constant battle Blush again sorry for long post

kitegirl · 06/03/2006 11:54

BHM I want your MIL, you can have mine - nosey interfering know-it-all PITA. oh she is involved all right - showed up on the doorstep 2 hrs after we arrived from the hospital with ds, despite us telling everyone that we want a few days on our own as a family. it's all gone downhill from then on....

jayjaybaby · 06/03/2006 12:00

oh my god kitegirl that is wat im so afraid is gonna happen

BigHotMama · 06/03/2006 12:02

Thats great news Arabica, you can de-stress now!
My mom is great with babies and children and I know she'll be a fantastic nan. I rely on her a lot for advice on pg/baby stuff, I'm thinking of having her at the birth aswell as my DH?? She has already asked if she can be there but at first I wasn't keen. I know when it comes round I'll want my mom there too! She can go through the motions with me while DH gets stuck into the G&A lol.
Is anybody/has anybody had their mom with them at the birth???

BigHotMama · 06/03/2006 12:06

LOL Kitegirl, I'll pack her bags and send her on to u ha! Grin

kitegirl · 06/03/2006 12:44

SO WHO'S DOING THEIR PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES????

I'm doing mine right now!
get squeezing ladies if you want to be able to cough without wetting yourself! or so I was told.

purpleturtle · 06/03/2006 12:54

I do a few occasionally when I think about it.

Today I've given in, and am wearing the extremely attractive elastic belt thing in the hope that my back might be less painful.

On the upside though I bought a pair of maternity jeans this morning for £20 which are under the bump ones, so much less humungous than the weekend pair. If only my back would let me wear heels, they wouldnn't drag along the floor LOL

lunavix · 06/03/2006 13:01

Hi everyone! 16+2 today and not feeling anything...kicking wise

No energy for sex at all completely uninterested.

Have a UTI too which apparetly accounts entirely for my fainting

OH but the best bit of news lol my first day in entirely maternity clothes! Pair of next underbump jeans (which are so big I have them belted up around my belly button lol) and a dotty ps black top which is HUGE!!!

This is only cos I ran out of my one pair of non-maternity jeans lol... I don't have the bump to fill them!

Boopert · 06/03/2006 13:47

Well i've been moving furniture this morning. Til dh found out! Then got shouted at, told to sit down and watch telly. Hmmm. Now i'm freaked.
Anyway Mil just called. She is on her way to visit. Will try and steer clear of all subjects bar my house plants! lol
I'm sure mothers are worse with their sons, can't let go of them....

Arabica · 06/03/2006 13:49

My mum is the last person I would ever want at my birth, but then, we aren't close.
Congratulations on the maternity outfit lunavix! My under the bump jeans keep falling down, I feel a lot more comfy in the over the bump ones. Perhaps I have an odd shape!

jayjaybaby · 06/03/2006 14:29

got my additions under bump jeans and my bump is too small to go under them had to a buy a belt as they were falling down i must have looked like an escaped mental patient on the high st walking a few steps then pulling them up lol must say my over the bump jeans are heaven and a bargain 10 quid from george must say im not having my mum at birth as we were worried she'd push dh out so its just me and mr squeamish
