Can't see your piccie Micku!

We're finding out the sex and we'll give ask family if they want to know or not.
I remember my Auntie not wanting to know when I had dd but when she realised that everyone else knew, she had to know Grin

I'm startingto think it might be another girl now but maybe that was due to the dream I had last night.

Nbg · 27/02/2006 10:51

Don't know where that give came from!

Micku5 · 27/02/2006 10:53

Sorry... changed the settings.

I think I am having a boy and funnily enough when I was pg with dd i had girls names picked out and really struggled with choosing a boys name. This time round I can come up with boys names no problems but girls ones.. forget it.

melsy · 27/02/2006 11:10

Hi all, gawd its only been a few days since my last post and theres loads of posts !!! I do try and keep up.

Im feeling a little better , just have to make sure I sit down more than I have been and eat more little and often.

Im so sorry to hear how your feeling luna, I would also 2nd the acupuncture , you may only need a couple of sessions for it to work wonders. Ive had it for other problems and the results are very good. Just make sure you find a practioner whos under the british acupuncture council , as they have been trained for pregnancy. Its also a good way of finding someone.

spooky micku5, Im the same with names, can only think of boys names this time, but when pg with dd , all I could think of was girs names !!!!

BigHotMama · 27/02/2006 12:05

Morning ladies, took me all morning to catch up. Hope everyone is feeling good, Luna hope you get better soon.
Well I saw my mom's dog give birth to 8 little pups yesterday and it was totally amazing, she was in labour for 4 hours, and was such a natural, didnt cry or yelp, no pain relief like we have on offer! Mind you dont fancy eating the afterbirth and pup's poo like they do (sorry if TMI).
17 weeks today, put on 4 pound last week due to scoffing large bags of onion rings so am doing the slimming world plan as of today to maintain weight or maybe lose a few pounds! (I could do with it tbh)
Everybody except for my mom thinks I'm having a boy and we are having problems with boys names too, anything unusual which I like DH doesnt etc etc...girls name are no problem lol x Grin

Boopert · 27/02/2006 12:08

Its weird, i must've been thru tons of girls names, changing mind daily!! Was convinced its a girl but have only thought of one boys name and am sticking to it!! (Apart from Melman of course...)

Arabica · 27/02/2006 12:48

Ahhh, Micku! Your baby really looks like a baby in that scan (I've seen some that just look like a white blob).
I can't stop eating at the moment--a combination of hard work and my usual pg anxiety. Things should be calmer this week. In the meantime expect Cadburys to report a shortage of choc mini eggs in N London (due to my scoffing them by the truckload).

lunavix · 27/02/2006 12:49

I can only think of girls names too.

With ds, from Christmas (so I'd have been... 5 months) I was positive he was a boy. They wouldn't tell us at scan but I was so sure I bought tons of boys clothes, told everyone we were having a boy, picked out a list of boys names.

This time all I can think is girls names, girls prams... may be because I'd quite like a girl although I'd still be chuffed with a boy. But I'm thinking all girls names and can't find a single boys I like...

Arabica · 27/02/2006 12:54

I don't like any names so far except an Icelandic one, Esja, that would have to be spelled 'Ayrshire' (as in the place in Scotland), to get the pronunciation right. We like it because Esja is a beautiful mountain.

trix1 · 27/02/2006 14:08

Good morning all, there is so much to catch up on. Hope you are all feeling well and getting the flutters now.Im 16 weeks now yipee. Ive got a scan on Thursday - cant wait.

We are not going to find out the sex but I will have a peek on thursday to see if I can guess at the scan.

babylily · 28/02/2006 09:14

Happy freezing Tuesday everyone!
I have a question -
does anyone else not have a bump yet?
I have a teeny tiny little firm bit in the middle of my tummy, but absolutely no bump (I thought I was getting one early on, but it proved to be just wind or something I guess!!)
I definitely had more to show at this stage in my first pregnancy, but I was over a stone heavier at the start with that one)
I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and I want a bump!

BigHotMama · 28/02/2006 09:39

Morning all, my bump is growing by the minute, but I must confess its half baby and half natural fat! Somebody asked the other day how many weeks I have left to go lol, I couldnt stop laughing when i told them I wasnt even halfway through yet! They thought I was probably around 6-7 months! Babylilly you'll probably have a good spurt of growing in a few weeks or maybe towards the end, but I wouldnt worry about it too much as a friend of mine didnt start growing until around 6 months, she looked fab as she swam everyday and didnt eat any junk! Grin

Arabica · 28/02/2006 16:46

My bump is three-quarters Cadbury's mini-eggs Grin Have actually managed to resist them today (so far) and am v pleased with myself. Also went to the gym. My eating goes out of control when am stressed/tired, and had been working to a tight deadline which I have now passed, yippee! Just got a little bit of work left to do, then will spend the rest of the week relaxing, I hope.

Nbg · 28/02/2006 16:55

Hi all.

Babylily, I spoke to a lady last week who was 4 months and her stomach was as flat as a pancake (ooh that reminds me, it's pancake day!)
I reckon it will get to a certain point and you'll just pop out butlike you said, you have lost weight this time so that will make a bit of difference.

Dh and I agreed to try dd at the swimming baths again today. So far she's had a huge phobia with it, screaming and carrying on when in the water. We've perservered and tried to get her to go under the water and lie on her belly in the bath. It must have paid off because she loved it.

But, I'd tried my bikini on last night just to make sure it fit in the right places. I showed dh and he was rather honest to say the least and said I was seeping out everywhere possible!
So needless to say I didn't go in but I am now going to invest in a maternity cossie now I know dd likes a swim. It should keep me fit for the next few months.

Those of you feeling kicks and such, do you have a couple of days where you don't feel a thing? I haven't felt anything since Saturday night now. Not even a flutter.

Hope your all doing well.

Boopert · 28/02/2006 19:10

Ahhhhh everywhere i go i see panakes..... NO MORE!!! Feel sooooo sick after gorging on them Blush
Had scan y'day and checkup today. Baby is fine, mummy is fine. Now waiting til next scan next week! See how big baby has grown... has big bum like mum!!

Boopert · 28/02/2006 19:10

Pancakes.....

Arabica · 28/02/2006 22:33

Nbg, I haven't felt anything all day, so don't worry, it's normal (of course, I worry anyway, but do as I say not as I do!)

Arabica · 28/02/2006 22:35

No mini-eggs for me today, vv proud of myself. Or pancakes--but then, I don't like pancakes, so they were easy to resist.
Glad your scan went well, Boopert!

Boopert · 28/02/2006 22:37

Ta Arabica.
Not usually one to stuff my face with em but hey its not my fault. If thats what baby wants....Lol

babylily · 01/03/2006 09:35

Thanks for the reassurance on the bump front! Woke up this morning and it had definitely grown a little bit (but may be the 3 pancakes I scoffed last night!)
Saw physio yesterday and I'm now on crutches for rapidly deteriorating and already agonising SPD. I knew from last time there was nothing they could do, but crutches for the next 5+ months..... and a toddler...and work.

The one good thing is I no longer have to make a decision about the birth. - It'll be another elective c-section at 39 weeks (so only 23 to go...!)

oooh you are brave lockets , Im chicken when it comes to underground with dd. Ahhh so you fancy the egg huh !!

On the maternity wear front Ive had to wear under bump mat clothes for a weeks now. Cant wear normal big stuff , it just looks silly on me !!! I must say Im finding that most maternity wear is so disappointing everwere.I bought loads from Hennes , Verbaudet & Next and it all had to go back , I looked ridic. I just cant find anything reasonably priced and my sort of style. The only stuff I like is Isabllella Oliver and dh will go mental if I spend that. Although Ebay have a few of her pieces. I love the dresses to wear with jeans.

I so wanted a pancake yesterday , just didnt get a chance , oooh yum yum with american maple syrup all over.

trix1 · 01/03/2006 10:01

Good morning - Today is the first day of lent so I am giving up crisps and hopefully sweets. I have such a sweet tooth these last few weeks and ive never had a sweet tooth ive always been one for savoury food. If I dont stop it now I will put on three stone at least. After ds was born I was in my jeans within a week - cant see that happening this time.

Its a lovely bright St Davids Day but its soooo cold. Good excuse to just stay in.

Boopert · 01/03/2006 10:41

Well i have now found if i get my old work skirts and put them over bump and a long top over it looks ok. And just bought a pair of lovely wedge sandals. Perfect weather for them!
Haven't got sweet tooth as such, just fruit and also marmite on toast, with spagetti, in anything i cook really....

olivo · 01/03/2006 11:50

Morning all! I'm really disappointed on the mini-eggs front - I'm just not interested in them, which is totally not normal for me!!!Wink

My first day in proper work clothes after the holiday today and i've given in to a particularly huge pair of black trousers which are soooo comfy!Grin Have applied for my maternity leave today and also for a nursey place - felt very early to me, especially as I'm still waiting for screening results but was advised to get it sorted asap.

hope everyone is feeling well/better - I havent been sick for 2 days now!!
