eve2005 · 26/02/2006 12:33

sorry to hear that arabica, i hope it starts to become less anxious for you as things move along, can't imagine how your feeling. at least you've got tonnes of movement to keep you reassured

olivo · 26/02/2006 12:34

I'm so of you all feeling movement!! I'm not even 15 wks yet and its my first so expecting it to be a bit of a wait!

Havent put any weight on yet but my appetite is gradually coming back so its only a matter of time.....

eve2005 · 26/02/2006 12:36

just you wait, was gloating for the first 6 months last time and then i exploded overnight! looked like i swallowed a beach ball!

olivo · 26/02/2006 12:38

I look forward to it!!! !!!

Nbg · 26/02/2006 12:54

Hi everyone!
You've all been busy. I can quite hapily say I have done sweet FA

Luna and Kitegirl, let this be an end to the fainting. It is horrible when it happens but it is happening for a reason so take it easy you two (motherly tone starts again!)

Well I'm hapy to report that after days of moaning I got a good kicking on Friday night It was like a rippling sensation and I think it was both feet kicking one after the other. I didn't feel anything else until last night and I've had a bit this morning.
I also realised that 4 weeks tomorrow I have my 20 week scan
How quick has that gone?!!!
It will be less for some of you too!

I've been doing a lot of maternity wear hunting and I've managed to bag myself a free top from Vertbaudet thanks to a £10 off and free p&p voucher and have found a fab shop on ebay and I'm getting 2 M&S bras and 2 packs of Mothercare under bump briefs for £16!
Not broke the bank yet!

eve2005 · 26/02/2006 14:06

o god, have to face the thought of maternity wear again! managed with only one pair of maternity pants last time but don't think that will work this time with a one year old throwing food at me all day long! hate spending the money on clothes i'll only wear a few months when theres so many cute baby clothes to be had!

Arabica · 26/02/2006 16:05

Try ebay eve2005! I've got all my clothes from there except a pair of lovely Next yoga pants I got from a mumsnetter. Dreading being huge in summer though, what on earth to wear?

Nbg · 26/02/2006 16:08

I remember living in 2 pairs of velour tracksuit style pants last time.
I also had a long, Black Mothercare dress which was beyond comfortable but not flattering!

I have a few bits now and I have some ordinary stuff which should fit.

eve2005 · 26/02/2006 16:10

don't have a credit card and god help me if i did get one, i'd be on the run from debt collectors for the rest of my days! got loadsa summer tops i can manage with as their quite loose and airy, it was the winter coat last time that had me stuck, couldn't close it from 7 months on so poor bump got mighty cold!

Boopert · 26/02/2006 18:10

Well i've been hunting for a decent pair of black trousers for work. Need a pair that go over big fat bump so its a bit more comfortable. Can't bear anything on my tummy....

It's my 3rd pg but like Arabica its going slooowly due to previous m/c. Got weekly scan tomorrow thou so can't wait. Baby been a bit still today, worrying, driving dh mad, but now i'm sitting here, shes woken up!!!!

So does the maternity dress from Isabella Oliver look flattering? My bum is rather big already although i've lost weight elsewhere. Need something nice to wear out on the odd occasion we get a babysitter!!

Just gone thru the msgs, so many i've not read!! Ah well, will give me something to do at work tomorrow morning!!

Hope all are well x

lunavix · 26/02/2006 21:29

Thanks everyone

well I've kept down food for two days despite overwhelming urges.... yesterday I had to go to bed as it was the only thing I could think of to do where I wouldn't want to throw up...

Today I've really struggled again, only managed two meals and feel rough now so going to have a hot bath and bed and try not to think about it. Am neglecting housework in a bed to cheer myself up!

I've gone through another pair of jeans (cos of my work, I wear through the knees) so I only have one left non-maternity. I was wearing maternity ones last week, and if I breathe in they fall down they all make me look huge, whereas I don't actually have a bump at all! Very envious of people with bumps, when I tell people I'm 15 weeks they look at me as if to say 'uh... really?'

Nbg · 26/02/2006 21:32

Awww Luna, you poor thing

At least your able to eat something even if you have to go to bed after.

Have you considered homeopathy?

lunavix · 26/02/2006 21:35

nbg - I will do, it's just we've only just got our income up to a decent level and we're still working on what's necessities and luxuries and where it all fits in! Plus there isn't one locally...

I start my nvq next sat, I'm going to see how I feel after that weekend, and then make a decision!

How you feeling nbg?

Nbg · 26/02/2006 21:40

Spot on really. Am getting sciatic pain but it's on and off.

Nothing compared to what your experiencing!

I know what you mean with the income thing. Dh is working his backside off now I'm not working. I really wanted to start having massages regularly but it's impossable atm. Especially if we're considering moving.

eve2005 · 26/02/2006 21:46

oooo that comment about massages reminds me, my birthdays in two weeks and dp promised to let me go for a proper pregnancy massage as a present.

their hideously expensive though so i might save it til i'm dying during summer.... hmmmm maybe i could guilt him into another one then if i use it now, worth chancing it isn't it?

Nbg · 26/02/2006 21:48

Go on have one eve!

I'm sure he'll treat you again when he sees you suffering in the sweltering heat

SIL announced yesterday that she's booked a lady who does things like that,to come to her house in May as an early Hen do and then we're booking another for October.

Arabica · 26/02/2006 21:49

I'm skint too. Our local holistic health centre offers maternity massages every Weds, wish I could afford them!

lunavix · 26/02/2006 21:50

I'm working my backside off and resenting it! I do a 36 hour week (but it's more with cleaning etc) and it's 48 hours during school holidays... and while I get to be at home with ds I'm realising now how much my job before him took my mind off being pg.

The thing I'm not really looking forward to is not having any maternity leave (aiming at 2 weeks if not caesarean!) as we can't really afford it.. we can afford a baby by me working! If I'm lucky, I might get 9 - 3 off most days, and just do 3 or 4 hour days.... but I still resent it! I do love my job, but everythings just so tiring! Plus we might be moving in September, granted I won't be working then cos I'll have to find a new job..

lunavix · 26/02/2006 21:51

awww I think everyone deserves treats like that. Have at least one!

To whoever said about it going quickly, sometimes I think it's amazing I'm nearly half way through (well, 15 weeks but I round up to 20 ) but then I think.. argh another 6 months is another way to look at it. Fear of miscarriage is also slowing it down too.

Nbg · 26/02/2006 22:02

I think it's utter madness that the majority of us will be having our second scans in 3/4 weeks time!

4 weeks till I find out if I'm having a boy or a girl
and that everything is ok obviously.

lunavix · 26/02/2006 22:09

I'm due mine in 5 but not getting it for 8! I'll be spitting at midwife in two weeks I may strop and say I'll change hospital if they won't do it before easter

Nbg · 26/02/2006 22:13

I would Luna, especially if your still feeling a bit anxious.

Boopert · 27/02/2006 10:24

Luna, my SIL had acupuncture as she was seriously sick. Was the only thing that worked for her. But saying that, i was throwing up at everything, even things i normally love!!!! All passed now so theres still hope. Just bear with it and you will feel human again. I actually asked the doctor for anti sickness tabs but she said to see how i go. Only things i can't eat still are anything with chicken in, curries (which i LOVE!!!) and mashed pots. Bit weird but the oranges and bananas are making up for it!!
Well only 5 hours til i have my lovely internal scan. Most pleasant....

Well the nearest thing to a massage i can afford is a bit of a prod on my shoulders and excrutiating pain! Dh hasn't got a clue....Men. But in return for the priviledge i have to then give him a long relaxing foot massage. Work that one out!!

Micku5 · 27/02/2006 10:28

Morning all... just touching base. I've not been on in a while, mainly because my dsis who lives with us is on the computer most of the time. (She's doing her GCSE's and has loads of coursework deadlines to meet)

Anyway, nothing new to really add, because I had an early scan I have to wait until 16 weeks before I get a hospital appointment. So I have two weeks to go.

On Saturday night just before I fell asleep I felt a little flutter or 3. I was very excited but it hasn't happened again so am wondering if I imagined it!! oh if anyone is interested my scan pic is \link{http://community.webshots.com/myphotos?action=viewAllPhotos&albumID=547835246\here}

Oh has anyone started thinking of names?? and if you find out the sex of your baby are you going to tell your family or keep it from them?

Boopert · 27/02/2006 10:40

Yes we've been thinking of names. Thought it was a girl but now begining to think its another boy. Will find out the sex, can't wait that long! No good with surprises....
Will tell anyone and everyone who will listen. Mil thinks its a girl and she always thinks she knows best.... So if its a boy will take great pleasure in correcting her..
