hi been shopping with dh as it's our anniversasry and we poppedin to see my lingerie lady and she gave me three bras cost price to get me through my pg can you believe it saved dh a fortune alas though they are my aaniversary present is any one else off meat they've cooked and fine with meat some one else has cooked or is it just me

trix1 · 17/02/2006 17:46

Hi - I definetly recommend plenty of sleep

Im desperate too, to feel the baby moving I cant wait, I sometimes think ive felt a slight movement but im not sure. Im 14+2 now so its probably a bit early.

jayjaybaby · 17/02/2006 18:10

will i feel the baby later cause i was over weight before i had baby (still am) tho have lost a bit due to being off so much food

katylou25 · 17/02/2006 19:00

JJB I was (and still am! ) overweight and with ds felt movements at about 17 weeks which is before the average of 20 weeks for a first time - don't think that makes a diffeence - it's the size of the baby and the way they move I think.

Arabica · 17/02/2006 19:03

Glad you sorted your bras out JayJaybaby! Bravissimo good for me but everyone is different.
I've got itchy skin too--it's just incredibly dry. I use diprobase which I get on prescription, have to apply it twice a day.
Re movement--again everyone is different. My skinny friend never felt anything until around 20 weeks; her midwife said this was probably just due to the baby's position, or the position of the placenta. In her 2nd pregnancy she started feeling movement around wk 18.

Arabica · 17/02/2006 19:05

Olivo, enjoy Madrid! It's a fantastic place with so much to see.

Nbg · 18/02/2006 12:53

Hi everyone.

You all sound really chirpy and happy

Good news on the bras Jayjay!

Kitegirl, lol at your midwife being a boarder Your care sounds great!

I have to say I feel a total fraud coming on here.
I just don't feel pregnant at all.

Is anyone else feeling like this?

I can't wait to be feeling proper kicks!

BabiesEverywhere · 18/02/2006 14:14

I'm 15 weeks and I think I have felt my baby a small flutter or vibration in line with but much lower down than my belly button but it could be gas !!!

I too can't wait for real kicks but will we feel the same way about kicks at nine months when we want some sleep !?!

Thanks for the links on the bras, I need to buy a couple to keep me going.

BTW I'm from Sheffield, South Yorkshire...is there any other northern ladies on the board ?

Nbg · 18/02/2006 14:34

Hey, I'm in Barnsley

Nbg · 18/02/2006 15:42

I was just having a nosey on the Due July 06 thread and someone has posted about midwife visits.

This is when first time mums should be going
Booking in appt - around 8 weeks
15-18 weeks
25 weeks
28
31
34
37
40

2nd timers don't get the 25, 34 and 40 week appt!!!

Am totally shocked by this.
I know it was 2.5 years since I had dd but when I hit 20 weeks the midwife appts were fornightly and after 30 weeks it was every week.

I really hope this isn't right.

BigHotMama · 18/02/2006 16:13

Afternoon ladies, I've had 3 midwife appointments so far on weeks 7 and 13 so I think it probably varies NBG? Mind you I did have 2 in one day, which was a mistake, as the midwife at my GP's didnt tell me to cancel the midwife appointments they were arranging for me at the hospital so I went to 2 but they didnt check baby's heartbeat or test my urine at the hospital so am glad I had the 2 appointments. I have got one booked at 20 weeks with MW at GP's then another at 20+4 at the hospital after my 20 weeks scan.
I tried to shave my bikini line last night as went swimming earlier and realised I couldnt actually see it because of my big belly ha! Had to do it facing a mirror..DH couldnt stop laughing!

kitegirl · 18/02/2006 16:19

I don't feel pregnant at all Nbg, but I sure look it. no-one can believe I am only 15 wks with this bump. if someone says one more time "are you sure there's only one in there" I am going to slap them.

aprilgirl · 18/02/2006 16:25

ive just been looking at the due in july thread and nearly all of them are feeling very obvious kick.... eee this will be us soon!!!
i'm not feeling too pregnant although i'm lookin it!! i too cannot see my bikini line...just wait til we cant see our feet!!! ha ha

Nbg · 18/02/2006 16:29

I don't think I'll be happy until I have actually given birth, lol.

snic · 18/02/2006 21:03

hi all. nbg, i too feel so unpregnant, except im falling asleep by about 10.30 every night. cant seem to keep my eyes open. had booking in with midwife this week, because i had such a quick labour with dd she suggested i had a waterbirth this time, anyone any thoughts about this? i cant seem to make up my mind (i know ive got ages to think about it)

lunavix · 18/02/2006 21:24

nbg I get
docs (optional just to let them know) plus scan at 12 weeks
midwife 16 weeks
scan 20 weeks
midwife 26 weeks
docs 30 weeks
midwife 36 weeks
then midwife 40 weeks if nothing happens before.

I only had two more appointments when pg with ds (my first) and thatwas with a consultant.... cos I'd mc before. Absolute rubbish, blood tests and sugar levels etc.
I don't feel it's enough.. but I guess that's why they do drop ins.

Arabica · 19/02/2006 00:03

hi everyone, I got:
booking in 13wks then NOTHING until
Consultant appt 20wks (standard procedure at our hospital if you have had a previous Caesarean); after that, who knows? I have 2 appts already booked for anti-D but am not sure when the midwife/GP appts are meant to be (I won't know if approved for shared care until after the Consultant appt).
I went for a (vvvvvvvv slow) jog today and think the baby enjoyed it as I felt brilliant after and was sure I felt a little kick when I had my bath after. Nothing since then though!

trix1 · 19/02/2006 13:58

Hi everyone, Im sure I felt my first definate flutter yesterday, then last night in bed I thought I could feel continuous soft movements but it was quite high up above the belly button, it was like a rumbling under the skin. Im 14+6 now so hopefully thats the start. Felt nothing today though.

purpleturtle · 19/02/2006 20:15

Hello BabiesEverywhere - I'm in Crookes!

Sorry to have been awol so long. Have moved into new place, and finally, finally, set up pc with internet connection. Yay!

Finally saw midwife just before 13 weeks. She found heartbeat straight away, which was fab. Made me believe I am pregnant and not some madly deluded woman. Still haven't had a scan date through though, despite chasing it up with the hospital. They're supposed to happen at 11-12 weeks here for dating purposes. Oh well, 15 weeks today.

This week I have fallen down the stairs. Oops. Only bruised my wrist. It's a pretty shade of yellow now. I'm feeling quite dizzy a lot too, because my blood pressure is so low, I think. Usually rises to normal by 8 months or so!

May well be offline most of this week too, as my mum has come back from ski-ing with an arm and a leg in plaster, so I shall be off on Tuesday to fetch and carry while dad's at work. Serves her right for ski-ing at 61 really! Wish it was me.

Haven't had chance to read the thread - just saw BabiesEverywhere and then jumped right in. Hope to get chance to read it soon.

We sold our house in Hillsborough last August! Were on Hawksley Avenue. Now renting in Crookes. (Long long story)

There's a few Sheffield MNers. So there are pretty regular meet-ups, usually at Spa 1877 on West St.

Nbg · 19/02/2006 20:36

Your poor mum PT.
Hope she's feeling ok.

I thought you were Sheffield area too.

I must get to that Spa one of these days.
