Afternoon everyone too! Hope you're all well and not feeling too poorly. All that talk of ice-lollies has made me want one now!
The 4D-Scan 'scam' sounds awful, I read the thread in disbelief.... I hope zephyrcat can resolve it.
On the bra/boobs front (so-to-speak) I'm soo jealous of you all! I've grown from my pathetic AA cup to a measley A cup... its awful! I dream of having larger assests but, as my mother kindly informs me, its not in our genes! Oh well.... But finding supportive bras (becuase they really do hurt, despite being pathetically small) is impossible. M&S turned me away saying "we don't make support bras in your size". Gutted. I'm now having to wear Sloggi sports crop-tops as they are the only thing that doesn't cause me too much discomfort.

Here you go bunny. These are sooooooooo comfy it's untrue.

The 4D scan scam does sound dreadful. Have to say though, I had one with my DD1 and it was utterly amazing! Watched the DVD too many times to admit without going red . A fabulous experience!

BunnyGirl · 15/02/2006 14:29

Brilliant! Thanks Nbg - you are my saviour! Time to go shopping then..... (and no more embarassing trips to the high street either...)

Nbg · 15/02/2006 14:32

No probs.

They're not great looking I suppose but I just can't get over the comfort of them.

BigHotMama · 15/02/2006 15:05

Cheers for the link NBG. I cant get over how she has been treated, think I will definately be making sure I've read any clauses in the contract should I decide to have a 4d scan, its outrageous!

Claire7676 did you find out the sex with your 4d scan?

Nbg · 15/02/2006 15:11

Tis pants, isn't it?

It's disappointing enough not seeing anything but to be told that they're keeping £120 of your cash is way too much IMO.

I hope she gets something done.

claire7676 · 15/02/2006 15:44

BHM, Yes, but I wanted to know (and had already been told at 20 wk scan)They asked before the scan if I wanted to know, saying they would avoid lokking in "that area"!!!! if I didn't.

trix1 · 15/02/2006 15:59

good afternoon all, Ive realised today that my sickness has gone - I have not had it for over a week now. Im 14+1

I was getting a bit worried as I could not feel any movement yet so I just poppped to the doctros and the midwife was happy to put the doppler on me and after about five mins (and a bit of panic from me) she found the heartbeat. Ive got another appt next wed with the midwife and then the week after I am at the hosp for another scan with my consultant so it looks like its all going well this time.

I need to get some maternity bras so thanks for the tips on this thread.

Is anybody not going to find out the sex, I dont think we will.

BunnyGirl · 15/02/2006 16:09

Hi Trix - that's good news for you! My sickeness went just after week 12 and it was such a relief. Its a bit like emerging from a shell isn't it? Good luck with bra shopping, I'm currently browsing on-line after NBG's top tip for smaller cup sizes!
I'd certainly like to know the sex if we're allowed to know (some hospitals have a policy of not saying for various reasons) but everyone in my family seem to be convinced its a boy.... not sure why! But I totally respect and understand other people's reasons for not wanting to know. I'm just impatient.

BigHotMama · 15/02/2006 16:26

Good to hear your sickness has finally gone trix1 I cant inmagine what most of you lot have been going through!
We really want a surprise at the end of all that pushing! Am so glad they can avoid the 'bits' area on a 4d scan as that was my main concern, but now its a worry to know what Z-cat went through on other thread, so I'll be very careful to ask questions before I book anything.

olivo · 15/02/2006 19:19

Trix -we're not going to find out the sex either.

As far as bras go, I've been wearing mothercare maternity ones since 6 wks, and have only gone from an A to a B - didnt think they were that noticeable till my mil said how much I'd grown! was a bit !

Havent read the thread about 4D scans but will do - thanks for the link nbg.

hope everyone is well.

jayjaybaby · 15/02/2006 19:56

omg i cant believe it i' went to get measured today as i'm rather large anway i cant have guess work involoved and ive gone up from a34 HH to a 34L the only maternity and nursing bras avaiable are 35 quid can anyone help do they know any where that does big sizes at a resaonable price other wise might have to think twice re breast feeding as will cost dh a fortune ( i recently lost my job ) and we are srtuggling abit

Nbg · 15/02/2006 20:34

Glad to hear your sickness has gone Trix. It's nice to hear that your getting lots of appts too. It must be a relief to have that reassurance.

Jayjaybaby, I am on the look for you. I'll see what I can find

Nbg · 15/02/2006 20:44

I've found you this one which is quite reasonable but it's a nursing bra

I'm still looking though!

Nbg · 15/02/2006 20:58

I was relying on this company as I've seen the lady that runs it on tv a bit but again.....

Nbg · 15/02/2006 21:01

This but it's JJ, don't know if thats any good?

jayjaybaby · 15/02/2006 21:08

have found an emma jane and also a royce they are 18 and 26 quid respectively i always thought coz boobs get bigger in pregnancy there would be a huge range obviously not

Nbg · 15/02/2006 21:15

I've still been looking but nothing

I had a look on ebay but they didn't have anything either, having said that, goodness knows how many items are listed every day so it could be worth a daily check

You could start a thread on here. I'm quite sure someone will know a supplier be it online or mail order.

Arabica · 15/02/2006 22:09

Where did you get measured? Might be worth getting a second opinion from a second shop. As L cups are so hard to find I am wondering if you might do better going up a back size and getting a J cup where there is (slightly) more choice. I like Bravissimo where you'll see the Royce bra and a sports one in a J cup. Once milk is in you might find your boobs shrink to a more manageable size, mine went from J to E within about 2 weeks and then settled at about a DD for the rest of my time as a bfer then back to normal D. I did have to buy 3 or 4 bras, but I am sure it worked out cheaper than formula milk.

BigHotMama · 16/02/2006 09:50

Morning all, while we are on the subject of breasticles has anybody been getting itchy boobs? Mine are tender if I touch them but I get the urge to give them a good scratch and I'm thinking it could be my skin stretching or something? Any ideas?

Act · 16/02/2006 10:23

yes! me too BHM. Have had itching, some flaky skin and a bit of a rash. So sexay...
I just assumed it was dry skin and stretching and so have been moisturising. Also have to go braless in the evening (if at home!) because my bras have been making it worse and drving me mad!
Oh yeah - also use Sanex shower gel to avoid drying out my skin too much.

trix1 · 16/02/2006 10:57

Morning all,

Ive had itchy boobs too but I put it down to the bra I was wearing - maybe it is the skin stretching.

BigHotMama · 16/02/2006 11:10

Act, I have to go bra-less too, its the first thing I do when get in from work, such a relief! I've not got any maternity bras yet as my normal ones are still ok but the bones do tend to be digging into my ever growing belly!
My DH was poking fun at me last night..he looked at my belly and said I cant be that big at 15+4 weeks, he said it must be extra weight I've put on?? I told him that although I've always had a bit of a belly there is a baby growing inside me and I just cant hold my stomach in anymore like I used to...What a cheeky git! He even said my belly should feel hard and its still quite soft! Typical Bloke! Thinks he knows everything!
