Isn't it great when you tell family

I'm going to check out that pushchair Luna. Not that I'm buying one but I love looking. Like the name too

Where are you in the country? Would it be too far to come to South Yorks for your scan? It's £100 cheaper here and thats if you go for the top daddy scan!!! Can't believe they charge so differently

Glad to hear you got some of your painting done Melsy
What sort of pictures do you do?

I don't know if I mentioned it on here before, I started a thread about it last week but I've been getting what I can only describe as a strong baby kicking sensation at the top right hand corner of my stomach, just under my ribs. Obviously it's not the baby kicking but thats the only way I can describe how it feels. It comes in fits and starts every day and I've been getting them since I was 9 weeks ish. Someone on the thread mentioned that it could be streching ligaments or something like that but I'm not so sure now. It's so definate and it feels like something round but when you touch the area and prod about, there's nothing there!

Has anyone got any ideas or had something like it?

Nbg · 13/02/2006 10:34

babylily

It could be a UTI. IME they present themselves in so many ways and the pain your describing sounds like one of them.
As for your MW saying it's too early, rubbish! The midwife came out and listened to mine at 10 weeks and I've heard other people say earlier before.
If you don't feel comfortable asking the midwife get the Dr to listen for heartbeat. They can listen to it, it just takes a bit longer to find thats all.

melsy · 13/02/2006 10:39

awww all these poor pg mummy's we are all in a right old state!!!!!

Not sure what you have babylily, to me it sounds like UTI , as I had burning pressure in abdomen , but not burning pain when passing water.

Nbg , sounds like you may have a lot of gas like me , as I feel what feels like kicks all over, but theres no way this babs is doing sumersaults in me yet!!!

I do very contemporary interior designy type paintings on large thick block canvases, quite abstract bold flowers and geometrics. Strong contrasts with texture pastes , matt and metalic paints and colours in keeping with current trends. I have quite a few Ive done but they dont seem to work in normal fine art gallerys , So I mainly sell to commision for rooms or houses that I design and design the colours and forms around the interior. Ive got to find a way of selling the 5 huge ones Ive done withought being commisioned and its proving very hard. The luxury market has bottomed out at the mo. Thank you for asking NBG , I dont talk that much about them normally.

Nbg · 13/02/2006 10:43

I love that sort of thing Melsy.

If I had a bit more cash atm, my purple kitchen would definatly benefit from one of those piccys.

I will bear you in mind though...

melsy · 13/02/2006 10:47

I have a lilac and purple kitchen too, I still havent got round to painting any for my house even, dh is not impressed!!!

May be I should pay to advertise on MN for my commisions!

Nbg · 13/02/2006 10:49

You should!

Add some pictures. I think it would be really popular.

BigHotMama · 13/02/2006 12:18

Morning ladies, sorry to hear some of you aren't feeling too good! I thought twice about posting as I feel so guilty because I've woken up today feeling rather fresh and ready for anything! (sorry!!)
Welcome and congrats to Mojo, SenoraP and BabiesEverywhere!
The only niggling pains I'm am getting is in my boobs, its like a dull achy pain and I've noticed my nips are growing and changing colour how bizarre! (I even felt the need to show my mom at the swimming baths ha! Bet she's thinking thats only half of it my dear!)
I'm just off to lunch now to ring a local clinic as I enquired about 4d scans on Friday and they have left 2 messages on my mobile to call them back. They are doing a good deal at the moment at £150 instead of £190. Need to find out if we can have it done without finding out the sex first though.

Strike1 · 13/02/2006 12:44

Hi all. I haven't had a chance to read down yet, but before I do I just like to say I had my scan today and all is well!! My date has changed to 24th rather than the 26th. The Nuchal bit was fine as well. I'm so relieved and feel I can now relax a bit....only a bit though!!

Hope you're all ok? I shall read down the thread in a minute

It the test where they check for downs, and give you a risk number..i.e mine with my dd was 1 in 1827 chance of having a downs baby.

olivo · 13/02/2006 18:08

Hi everyone! been to the hospital today and found out that on all my records etc, my due date is 24th - asked the midwife and she said that is what they're going with so I'm with them! only a day out from before but maybe one day nearer to not being so sick ( or is that just wishful thinking?!?!)I can't understand why it's got worse in the last fortnight and not better!

glad to hear everyone is well.

hi everyone - welcome to all the new people, I cant believe we have new due in August people how fantastic. Do you know that there is now a due in Oct thread with the latest dates being around the 25th Oct so soon we will have the due in Nov thread.

Do you think the weeks are are passing quickly now, I still dont and am considering buying a doppler as I keep imagining I can feel something but I dont think I can yet? What do you think about the dopplers and which one would you recommend.

Ive just taken Rubles name of the list as she miscarried a few weeks ago and her name was still on the list. If you read this Rubles hope you are ok and hoping you will be on one of the new threads soon.

BigHotMama · 14/02/2006 12:03

Congratulations JAYJAY! I cant believe how many there is of us on this thread now, its HUGE!

Trix, I think its going really quickly, keep thinking in less than 5 weeks time I'll have reached 20 weeks and will be halfway through, now that seems mad!

Keep getting people saying I'm looking swell and then tapping my belly! For once in my life I dont feel offended when they people say I'm geting big!

Hope everybody is feeling better today....

Arabica · 14/02/2006 12:17

Congratulations JayJay! I'm feeling quite good today, would feel better if I could feel movement--haven't felt anything really since last Thursday so am beginning to think that wasn't movement at all, just indigestion! People aren't noticing my bump, just my boobs. Well, they are rather spectacular
